Online headline/story: "Report: Social Security disability fund to run dry next year * The 11 million Americans who receive Social Security disability face steep benefit cuts next year, the government said Wednesday, handing lawmakers a fiscal and political crisis in the middle of a presidential campaign. * The trustees who oversee Social Security and Medicare said the disability trust fund will run out of money in late 2016. That would trigger an automatic 19 percent cut in benefits, unless Congress acts." -- Ouch! Several things here:
1 - "trustees"? Trustees exist just like Algore's "lockbox"...
2 - Why does this shortfall only occur during presidential election years and when Republicans are empowered in Congress?
3 - There's no mention of how many of the 11,000,000 are illegal aliens.
4 - This is the section of Social Security that generates the most fraud.

Gas.... earlier this week, I mentioned I had been in the Florida Guld area on vacation and bout gas there for less than what we're paying in Columbus...Phenix City, AL, too, Yesterday, one of my brother-in-laws texted me that he had just bought gas in Americus, GA for $2.32 a gallon. The Columbus area gas stations are under to few ownerships, are gouging us intentionally (collusion?) and taking advantage of the public thinking the increases are all due to the new gas tax set-up.

Online story: "A proposed change in labor rules could force metro Atlanta employers to pay overtime to more workers * Announced in June by the Obama administration, the change significantly raises the pay level at which certain employees are exempt from required payment of overtime. * It’s all about how an employee is classified: Are you exempt from federal rules about overtime or not? When it comes to managers, the government in 2004 drew the line at $455 a week, or $23,660 a year. Make more and you are exempt, make less and they owe you for any overtime. * The Department of Labor is looking to move the line: Plans call for raising that ceiling to $970 a week, or $54,440 a year. A manager making any less would have to be paid OT at time and a half of regular pay. Comp time is not acceptable for overtime, according to the agency." -- Ahhhh.. gaze into my crystal ball with me.. I see assistant managers and junior execs salaries changed from a set salary which was set to cover regular and extra time, to an hourly wage but no extra time.. In other words, frontline management slots will increase, and frontline management opportunities to advance will decrease, and business expense will rise taking away potential jobs. You know, if the federal gurus are so intent on managing everyone's salaries, it should first come up with a plan that covers our frontline military personnel as they work 24/7 to protect us.

From the "bias is as bias does" department - HuffPOOPOO story: " Donald Trump, provocateur of the Republican presidential race, now plans to go the Mexican border, a flashpoint in the primary contest ever since he declared that immigrants (those honoring and following our laws) from Mexico are rapists and drug dealers." -- "immigrants from Mexico are rapists and drug dealers"? Good grief.. "mainscream media" has lost its way... Trump did say illegal aliens are guilty of such.. but he did not say immigrants. You know, the mainscream media furor is caused by mainscream media being outed for not addressing the real issues along our border with the American people, as a whole, nor Obamageddon and Hillewinsky specifically.

Online story: "The No. 2 Republican in the New York Senate was found guilty Wednesday of lying to the FBI, a felony conviction that will cost him his seat. * A federal jury found that Sen. Thomas Libous lied in 2010 to agents who were investigating how his son landed a high-paying job with a politically connected law firm." -- Wiat a minute.. didn't the Court of Appeals just throw out similar convictions on former Chicago mayor, Blagojevich, because the Court of Appeals didn't think using political pull to get someone a job was illegal... that if such were "illegal", President Eisenhower and Chief Justice Warren would have had to be arrested, too? And since when is "lying" in a federal investigation a "federal offense"? Clinton would still be in jail ... and probably would never run out of jail time if each lie were punished.

Online story: "The push for a higher minimum wage gained momentum on both sides of the country Wednesday, with New York embracing an eventual $15 an hour for the state's 200,000 fast-food workers and the huge University of California system announcing the same raise for its employees." -- Good grief.. teen unemployment in NY will skyrocket from the awful height it already is in NY, and California teens (parents, actually) will not be able to get into California colleges... well, unless they are illegal aliens living the Democrat "Dream" program..

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Federal charges against Dylann Roof announced" -- Good grief.. tell us something we want to know.. to hear.. like when he will executed... better yet, that he has already been executed..

From the "ROFLMAO in disbelief" department: "Seattle’s $15 minimum wage law is supposed to lift workers out of poverty and move them off public assistance. But there may be a hitch in the plan. * Evidence is surfacing that some workers are asking their bosses for fewer hours as their wages rise – in a bid to keep overall income down so they don’t lose public subsidies for things like food, child care and rent." -- Liberalism just peaked.. you know, I learned long ago, sometimes, if you give a person exactly what they ask for, it no longer appeals to them as they don't know how to handle it.. Now we have three great examples of dissenters "getting what they dreamed about" and still not being happy.. the inflation driving minimum wage increases, same sex marriage, and the removal of the Confederate flag... Now what do Al Sharlatan, Obamageddon, Jesse Jackson, and Democrat politicians and the LGBT community have to complain about... how are these groups going to solicit donations when their causes are gone.. Hmmm.. a tune is running through my mind.. "I like it like that"....

Online story: "Immigrant parents living in Texas without proper identification papers are suing the state for withholding birth certificates from their American-born children, in a tricky case that pits Texas' strict ID laws against the 14th Amendment of the Constitution. * The suit was filed in May in U.S. District Court in Austin by a group of Mexican citizen parents living in Texas. The suit claims the state refused birth certificates for 23 children because the parents could not provide the proper photo identification under state law." -- "parents could not provide the proper photo identification under state law"? "pits Texas' strict ID laws against the 14th Amendment of the Constitution"? Well it ought to be a FEDERAL law, and such issue would be eliminated if illegal aliens crossed our borders following set immigration laws and procedures. The last I heard, the Constitution was set in place to protect the interests and rights of American citizens and their legal guests.

Online headline/story: "GA tax revenue secrecy frustrates local leaders * “Transparency” is the word on the lips of Rome and Floyd County leaders after the revelation they must repay $4.5 million to the state in overpaid sales taxes. * Local officials haven’t seen detailed calculations proving that $4.5 million is, in fact, the correct amount owed. They only learned days ago that over $1 million of the $4.5 million is 12 percent compounded interest since 2005. * Rome City Manager Sammy Rich has called that interest an “insult to injury.” * The city may have little choice in repaying its money, as the state collects sales tax from local businesses and remits it to local governments. The money’s already in state hands. * The law is different for property owners who overpay county governments. A land owner who discovers he’s overpaid his property tax is entitled to only three years of back payments. No such statute of limitations exists for a business overpaying its sales tax, Hoyt said." -- Hmmm... lotsa Columbus issues here, too.. where to begin..first, there's local issues.. why are two equal 1% taxes not receiving identical monthly amounts.. The original City LOST and any MCSD SPLOST.. both are 1% of all retail sales, yet monthly/annual income differs. The second City LOST has exclusions for hotel/motel and car sales so it is less than the other two taxes, but why aren't the other two taxes generating the same amount? Secondly.. why are tax overpayment not the same for businesses as private citizens.. businesses DO NOT PAY sales taxes.. their customers pay them and the businesses just collect them.. in fact, the businesses get paid by the state to collect such, so the private citizen is not getting the full worth of the money he/she has to pay to buy necessities.

If what I'm seeing on the Whittlesey Road widening is what we're gonna get.. we've been sold a bill of goods.. well, more accurately, a bill of "bads".. 6 months over time plus $1,000,000.00 over costs, and we're getting a configuration that looks like it was designed by a kindergarten art class.

Kenya is "leaking" Obamageddon's itinerary.. actually twice so far...maybe Kenya is trying to send Obamageddon a message....persona non grata....

L-E story: "Police have captured one of two alleged robbers who supposedly shot a man in his Carson Drive home on April 24. * Joseph Johnson, 33, appeared in Recorder's Court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to first-degree home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. * Columbus Police Sgt. Lance Deaton said a man was in his Carson Drive home ironing clothes when Johnson and an unidentified man entered his residence at about 10:15 a.m. The offenders held him and several other occupants at gunpoint and threatened them, the detective testified * Johnson allegedly shot the man once — at close range — in the chest and the other offender supposedly shot the victim once in the leg. * The shooting caused permanent damage to the man's leg, the detective testified." -- L-E story: "According to the Department of Correction's website, Johnson was convicted in Muscogee County for two cocaine-related crimes. Officials said he was sentenced to a total of 22 years for the March 2, 2007 and Sept. 9, 2002 incidents. He was released on parole Jan. 29, 2009." -- Sentenced after, I asume, March of 2007, and sentenced to 22 years but was paroled after no longer than 23 months (minus the time it took to get a plea bargain/conviction). I guess he was considered a "non-violent drug offender" before he showed he wasn't?
Oh, and by the way, who was the citizen who was shot and now suffers permanent disabilities? Pathetic reporting, L-E.. Pathetic criminal processing, Court system!

L-E headline: "Phenix City post office without AC for few weeks" -- Hmmm.. did anyone ask if possibly the electricity was turned of by ALPowCo as the PO check still hasn't gotten there?

Random, well not so much random as motivated by a tragic event locally, thought - Online story: "The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says drowning is the number one cause of accidental death in children ages 1 to 4. In addition, the CDC calls drowning the silent killer, meaning that children who are out of sight for five minutes or less. They also say having formal swim lessons can decrease drowning in children 1 to 4 by 88%." -- How does a 3-year old get to get into an all-ages swimming pool without "floaties" and a personal attendee? This was particularly sensitive to me as I have a 3-year old granddaughter who would never be allowed into even a bathtub without someone within hands' reach.
