From the "ooops, put up or shut up" department: Online headline: "Michael
Sam calls off 6-month engagement to Vito Cammisano" -- The line.. "of course I'd
marry you if I could" is now DOA...
---
You know.. Clinton Correctional Facility has been scrutinized pretty close
for the past 4 weeks since the 2 murderers escaped... because of the coverage,
every inmate knows the mechanics of how to escape. New measures of security are
being installed though..it has to be better prepared for the future.. who knows,
either or both Slick Willie and/or Hillewinsky may be assigned there one
day.

Online headline: "Polygamous trio applies for license to legally wed * A
Montana man on Wednesday said last week's landmark ruling on same-sex unions
inspired him to legitimize his marriage to his second wife.
'It's about marriage equality'" -- It had to happen.. but I thought it might take a little longer.. You know.. the Supreme Court decision for same-sex marriages may become divorce lawyers' worst nightmare.. if married couples want new mates, they won't have to get an expensive divorce.. they can just split up their goods (or not), split out (or not) and just add another spouse or 2 or 3 or 4 to the household line up..

Guess what.. driving around town yesterday , I noticed something strange...
most of the gas prices were the same as they were the day before the new tax
increase went into effect... Guess the local stations just took advantage of the
upcoming change, and milked/gouged us for the extra profits thinking we thought
we would save some money buying before the new taxes went into effect. Think
I'll be making more trips to fill up in Phenix City because of this.

L-E story: "The (tax) freeze, which was implemented by referendum in 1982,
locks a the value of an owner-occupied home at the time it is purchased. Under
Tomlinson’s sunset plan, people who are under the freeze would remain under the
freeze as long as they own their current home." -- Hmmm.. basically, Mayor
TomLYINGson's plan just alienates all new home buyers...and sellers of older
homes. Gee.. ain't that fun...
Her "plan" is farcial..at best... if you keep your home, and don't make major upgrades/modernization.. nothing changes.. If you sell your home to downsize in "old age", selling your home will be at a lower price because buyers are going to have to going to anticipate regular tax increases, and buying a smaller retirement home will not have the protection of set taxes on a fixed retirement income.

WTVM9 story: "Concerned parents of little league baseball players in
Columbus may be left in the dark after thieves stole thousands of dollars of
copper wiring from light poles on the field. " -- Hmmm.. now we have to wonder
whether Mayor TomLYINGson practiced what she preached.. Did she have all the
City copper wiring/pipes "marked for identification" or not so recyclers would
call the police in on if presented for sale.\.

Parking fines must be booming in UPtown. When I was in business there, the Broadway "meter man" moved about in a fuel efficient utility cart from which he could either park it to mark cars or reach out as he drove close to the vehicles.. Yesterday, he was driving an actual car which limited him from parking in utility sized spaces, and eliminates the efficient use of his time in monitoring the citizens' parking time. This can't be a better and more efficient way to mark and ticket overtime parking.. I hope one of the merchants will venture out and make a Gomer Pyle type "citizen's arrest" when he parks the vehicle illegally on the median curb.

Online headline: "Democrat Lawmakers introduce bill to make DC the 51st
state" .... again! When will this nonsense cease? The founding fathers
intentional created Washington, District of Columbia, to be a non-state so no
state could have influence over the City of Government. Democrats just want to
create 3 more Democrat Congressional seats and Electoral College votes. What's
sad is we can't count on the Supreme Court to uphold the founding fathers'
wisdom..
---
I guess the next step, win or lose, on getting statehood for the District
of Columbia will be to change the name from Washington to something less
offensive to liberals..like Castroville or Stalingrad...
---
You know..if Jeb Bush is surging in the polls, it's because Democrats are
chiming in on who they prefer to run against Hillewinsky. They liked the outcome
of the first Bush-Clinton match-up.
---
Tell you what...what's the difference between "racial profiling" , "Islamic
terrorist profiling" and "Confederate Cultural profiling" when it comes to
preventing criminal activity? There's less chance of a crime being committed at
a gathering of Civil War enthusiasts.
---
You know.. if you're wearing a Confederate Flag t-shirt in Washington,. DC
or NYC, you're going to attract more police scrutiny than if you were wearing a
"colors" do-rag or a burqa.
---
You know.. six and a half years ago, we were taken aback.. offended by
Michelle Obama's claim that she was finally proud of America.. now, the talk on
the street is that no one is proud of what Michelle has done to America..
---
Now TVLand has pulled reruns of "The Dukes of Hazzard" because of the
Confederate Flag painted on the roof of their car.. Mothers of America should be
incensed that the show was pulled for this, and wasn't pulled for introducing
their children to Daisy Duke's cutoff jeans and the image of women portrayed on
the show.

Jonathan Gruber triple-double extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Twice in
two days the U.S. Supreme Court has made major decisions which prove
conservatives are firmly on the wrong side of history." -- No. if there is any
"proof" of anything, it's the "proof" that conservatives have turned their
cheeks too often in the last 50 years of the Democrats' "War on America", and
it's a wake call for conservatives to take back the ballot box and restore the
US Constitution.
---
Hmmm, wonder how much change from the past will show up at the L-E's
"Ultimate Bridal Expo"... one thing will be to stop charging admission to half
the men who come..
---
L-E's "Quotable": “Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing
because he could do only a little. - Edmund Burke Irish statesman (1729-1797)"
-- Make this your mission when you run into a friend who says thy aren't going
to vote.
---
L-E editorial commentary: "Listeners heard two disturbing facts about
American prison populations, only one of which might shock most Georgians: The
United States has 5 percent of the world’s population and 25 percent of its
prison population. " -- Hmm perhaps a tribute to the efficiency of America's
Police Departments, of perhaps better incentives for criminals in other
countries not to want to commit crimes..?
