Hmmm.. Last week we learned ZERO-bama would like to own a NBA team..it will be comical to see if he actually will staff his team with the diversity he preaches.  Let's see.. out of a NBA roster average of 14 players, 11 (77% in 2015 US Census demographics) will be white, and 7 overall must be women (or I guess "transgenders" could be ZERO-bama's "out" for this category). On a local note.. be sure and read the interview with new Council member Walker Garret in the Sunday L-E.. looks like he may folow in Red McDaniel's shoes.. if you have any potholes that bug you in your neighborhood or on your daily travels, call/e-mail Walker...don't expect quite as good of response times to begin with, as I'm not sure in any have been fixed since Red passed, and there's quite a backlog. BTW, in the interest of transparency, Walker is a fellow BCer.

Soapbox Moment: You know, when the Columbus Water Board (which includes Mayor Tomlinson) spoke about raising our water rates, it compared us to other cities as being lower. When Mayor Tomlinson wanted to take away our twice-a-week garbage pick ups, she compared us to other cities that only had one per week. Now, when she talks about eliminating the freeze, and raising our property taxes, she doesn't talk about how much lower other counties and cities are compared to what we ALREADY pay. Excuse me, but how attractive is Columbus to outside businesses and new home buyers when Tomlinson has stripped away all the assets our Chamber and realtors use to have to pitch why it would be good to settle in Columbus? Mayor TomLYINGson is LIE incarnate.

Wow.. a temporary MLB quality baseball field is being constructed at Ft Bragg in a promotion to bring a Major League baseball game to our troops... you'd think MLB would have thought it through more closely before including the Atlanta Braves as one of the teams..
