yet his home is assessed at "only" $557,000.00. He's getting a "break" on paying
taxes on $168,000.00. And a lawyer bought a home off Hubbard Road that hadn't
been reassessed in years and 60+ acres and a nearly 4,000 square foot home were
assessed only $350,000 (+/-). He bought it from another lawyer for $1,080,000.00
last year and by using "special interest tax breaks" he's been able to separate
some 80 acres from the home under a "conservancy" option (limited to property
more than 10 acres) wher now the property is valued at over $600,000.00 yet he
pays only $650.00 in taxes,, and he gets it for 10 years and has the option to
re-up that break. On the other hand, in 10 years, that 80 acres will be very
valuable residential property and nothing stops him from selling it as such and
make a ton of profit. What's "fair" about that?
