From the "let's see how we can mislead the truth in a headline" department
- Online headline/story: "Betsy DeVos: I'd be 'fine' if we could ditch the
Education Department * Though DeVos basically stated she'd be OK with
jettisoning the department, she also said that the federal government, at least
in the past, has had a legitimate role to play in education." -- Looks like
DeVos is going to be a good one.. and the right one for our times and America's
childrens' future..Last year, the 50 states spent $977,000,000,000.00 on
education, and the Department of Education spent $209,000,000,000 ... that's
almost $1.2 TRILLION. There are about 63,000,000 children between the ages of 5
and 19.. The US is spending over $19,000.00 per child! This is nothing in the
stats of spending or test results that shows.. much less PROVES... the US Dept
of Education has actually HELPED education..what the DOE has done, basically, is
divert 1/6th of the money spent on education, and used it to control what is
done and taught at the local levels.
---
Found more interesting figures while looking up the above. Let's talk healthcare spendings.. In 2008, Americans spent $2,3 TRILLION on healthcare.. in 2016, Americans spent $3.2 TRILLION on healthcare! In 2016 alone, that's almost $3,000.00 MORE per person in the US being spent on healthcare than was being spent in 2008. Where are the "savings" Obama promised with OObamaCRAP?
---
Online headline/story: "Columbia University accepts hundreds of students by mistake " -- And what's new... Columbia accepted Obama, and has shut down access to all info regarding his application.
What's ironic about the Columbis snafu is that all 300 students "pranked" by Columbia were for the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health Master's Program.. Guess Columbis realized that with OObamCRAP soon to be history, there was no sense in expanding the Masters Program in Public Health.
---
L-E headline: "Mayor Teresa Tomlinson in 'audacious' speech: ‘We are remaking this city’" -- "remaking this city"? Sorta like Obama saying he was "transforming America"..

From the above L-E story: "The luncheon, sponsored by the Greater Columbus
Chamber of Commerce," -- Excuse me.. but why is the Chamber sponsoring this
since it takes a considerable amount of money out of the City coffers annually..
yeah. it's partially taxpayer funded!

Online headline: "Heavy rain and snow pound California, raising mudslide risk" -- Well, well, well... all those Moonbeam Brown prayers to save the "snail darter" at the expense of the farmer are coming to pass.

HuffPOOPOO headline: "The Obamas are looking for interns" -- Looking for interns? Guess that's cheaper than paying $15.00 minimum wages per hour.....

Online headline: "Hillary Clinton takes grandkids to cool place 8 Hillary may win y-the ultimate grandma award based on her most recent outing to Sesame Street Live"-- "Sesame Street"? "ultimate grandma award"? The way I read this is that Hellary forfeited chances at winning the "ultimate grandma award " back in the early 90s when she said she was not in the kitchen "baking cookies", and if Sesame Street accommodated her, it was so Sesame Street could show her the "Big Bird".

From the "they're coming to take you away.. ha ha" department - Online headline/story:Robots that steal human jobs should pay taxes, Gates says * Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft and world’s richest man, said in an interview Friday that robots that steal human jobs should pay their fair share of taxes." -- Hmm.. how about just confiscating the immense accumulated wealth of the men who create the chips, software, and mechanics of the robots.. In effect, they are the ones who are eliminating the repetitive jobs

Online story: "Less than a month after exiting the White House, Obama received high marks from presidential historians for his pursuit of "equal justice for all" and for his commanding "moral authority," ranking third and seventh among all former presidents in each respective category. " "equal justice for all"? Its that what Obama and/or his DOJ did when persecuting George Zimmerman, the Boston Police for following procedures, for Officer Wilson in Ferguson, MO, for the Baltimore Police Department, for the citizens in South Chicago, for defending the American consulate in Libya, or releasing over 1,000 drug convicts, or releasing terrorists from Gitmo, or allowing "sanctuary cities"? Oh, and don't get me started on "moral authority" on abortions, or his economic prowess!

Online headline: "Chicago gang members say more police won't stop the murders" -- Unfortunately, this is probably true.. as long as Rahm Emanuel is mayor, and promotes Chicago as a "sanctuary city". Imagine that,, only criminals and police officers have guns in Chicago. The problem with this is that Chicago's prohibitive anti-gun laws keep law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves or assist others when they are in trouble....

Online story: "Ticket prices are plunging as this weekend’s NBA All-Star festivities kick off in New Orleans, six months after the league relocated the annual showcase event from its original site in Charlotte in protest of North Carolina’s controversial transgender bathroom law. * As of Friday morning, the cheapest available seat for Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game at the Smoothie King Center cost $184, according to data compiled by TicketIQ, a resale market ticket aggregator. That number is a 71% decrease from last year in Toronto, when the cheapest ticket on the Friday before the game cost $644. The plunge may not be over -- the price of the cheapest seat in 2014, when New Orleans last hosted the All-Star Game, fell 39% between Friday and tip-off on Sunday." -- Well, you could blame families who want to protect their children if they need to use a bathroom for not buying tickets.. but that would be wrong.. the simple problem is more likely that no one wants to pay a premium price for a ticket and have to sit next to one of these 'transgenders" for which New Orleans is full of.. oh.. either that or transgender folks are not going to attend unless they get cheaper or free tickets.

As much as I like "Fixer Upper" starring Chip and Joanna Gaines, I also "hate" them. Their show about fixing up homes gives my wife tons of ideas, but when we ask contractors what they will charge, it's 3 times (or more) than what Chip and Joanna do it for on TV.

Good grief...mainscream media is upset that Trump has publicly ordered the DOJ to investigate leaks from the State and Security departments. Where was mainscream media's outrage when IRS was ordered to screen/holdup 501 (c) 3 applications for conservative groups?

OK...President Trump needs to write an Executive Order removing Obama's racially discriminatory "tanning booth tax"!

Online headline: "CA Governor Brown Will Not Face Charges, Dam Disaster Being Blamed Instead On ‘Global Warming’ "-- Hmmm... the real headline should have been, "CA Governor Brown Will Not Face REALITY, Dam Disaster Being Blamed Instead On ‘Global Warming’. but the blame should be placed on Brown AND Obama for not trying to fix the problems.

Online headline/story: " WOW! Corrupt Florida Democrat Corrine Brown Faces 357 YEARS IN PRISON * Indicted Democrat partied with Pelosi, flew with Obama, and campaigned for Clinton * She ran a fake charity which directed money away from kids and if convicted on all counts she’s going away for a long time. * The disgraced congresswoman must defend against charges that she funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars from a non-profit charity, One Door for Education, into her own pocket. If convicted on all 24 counts, she faces 357 years in prison and $4.8 million in fines" -- Yeah.. Democrats are real interested in our childrens' education... NOT!

more accurate for our officers and of course will be able to have fresh guns

barrel improve accuracy (especially if a Glock barrel) at a lesser cost? And
while we discussing such.. has there been conversation to purchase a weapon from
Heckler & Koch.. a local company.. which would also add additional economic
benefits to our community...

From the "truth is self evident" department - L-E "soundoff": "It’s
mid-February and between premiums, deductibles, and copays, I’ve already spent a
third of my 2017 salary on health care. There’s no such thing as affordable
care. The Act only made things worse." -- In 2008, Americans spent $2,3 TRILLION
on healthcare.. in 2016, Americans spent $3.2 TRILLION on healthcare! In 2016
alone, that's almost $3,000.00 MORE per person in the US being spent on

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Alabama needs a levelheaded Democrat like Troy King
for state attorney general." -- Good grief.. Alabama and every other state needs
an Attorney General with BRAINS and commitment to keep law abiding citizens
safe.. that had nothing to do with liberalism.

the mission would be self-evident." -- Amen!

The Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation announced it's 10
Semi-finalists for "Teacher of the Year". Compliments to all of them, but I hope
either Shane Larkin of Early College Academy or Ron Forgie of Columbus High
win.. Both teach AP (Advanced Placement) U.S. History, and there is sure a
shortage of students graduating that have no clue to the real history of our
country!
