Online story: "The US ambassador to the United Nations on Thursday delivered the Trump administration's strongest words toward Russia since Trump took office. * UN ambassador Nikki Haley declared that existing US sanctions would stay in place against Russia stemming from its annexation of the peninsula of Crimea from Ukraine, amid renewed fighting in the eastern part of the country this week." -- Good grief.. will McCain and Graham please retire! And mainscream media please apologize! America is proud that Obama, Hellary and Muppetman Kerry no longer represent us to the world.
---
From the " yellow-journalism" department - HuffPOOPOO story: "Reuters reports that anonymous military officials say the mission was approved without proper preparation. * President Trump is being blamed by some military officials for the deadly results of a recent raid on Al-Qaeda." -- Good grief.. "anonymous military officials"? My guess is "they" are the ones "promoted by attrition" following Obama's purge of military leaders with gonads. As it is, Trump has told the world that "America is BACK!".

Online story: "Science illiteracy is a threat to the nation, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson told a crowd in Greensboro, North Carolina on Tuesday night, according to a report by the Greensboro News & Record. * Tyson, the well-known Hayden Planetarium scientist and science communicator, told the crowd that the US is turning away from science, and that turning away from science leads societies to decline. * He placed the blame specifically at the foot of states that decide not to rigorously teach established scientific ideas like evolution, and warned that they would face economic consequences as research and development moves elsewhere." -- Good grief.. we all know the problem.. stagnation in the "evolution" of academia.. combined with Common Crap curriculum...
---
From the "well, which is the fake news" department: HuffPOOPOO "HEADLIE or "story" : "Melania Trump hires Lindsay Reynolds as chief of staff, addresses Washington move * On Thursday, the first lady announced Stephanie Winston Wolkoff as her newly hired chief of staff." -- Hmm.. well.. is it Reynols or Wolkoff? HuffPOOPOO must have hired Steve Harvey as its Chief Information officer..

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Bannon's place on security council questioned by Pelosi, who calls him a 'white supremacist'" -- Hmmm. and millions of Americans question Pelosi's place in Congress, and call Pelosi a "blathering idiot".. Bannon and America win!
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Trump wants to 'destroy' amendment key to separation of church and state" -- Oh, yes.. the Johnson Bill of the 1950's which prohibits pastors from preaching politics from their pulpits.. Hmm.. FIRST.. it is NOT and AMENDMENT.. it's a law...and you know, the bill was held over pastors at white churches and ignored pastors at black churches.. I'd say it would be "leveling the playing field."..

"Gold" ... pretty good flic.. a go see... please note FBI investigators at end of movie..note the TAPE RECORDER! Yeah..right....but nobody taped Hellary..

After calling attention to the Wednesday story about the River Road roundabout having incorrect info about costs...($1.5 Million vs. $2.7), the L-E has corrected its error..only the correction revealed a worse horror tale. My contention was that the state was providing $2.0 Million and the City $700K but it looks like the state is only providing $1.5 Million as previously reported, but Columbus has to pony up $1.2 Million vs.$700K. There goes the fund balance again.

This is America..Free speech is a God given and Constitutional right, but protesting with a mask on and holding any kind of object that can be wielded in a damaging way makes one a dangerous criminal, and police should go after and arrest at first threat.
---
Freedom of speech gives you a right to stand up for yourself or your cause. in the light of day, and state your case.. Freedom of speech does not give one the right to stand in the shadows and throw rocks or Molotov cocktails. It does not give you the right to commit crimes in your expressions of dissent.

Random thought: L-E headline: ‘Smoking deal’ lands Aflac spokesduck in the
Super Bowl" -- Hmm.. since AFLAC makes 75% of its profits from Japan, have you
ever wondered how the "duck" sounds saying "AFLACCCCCCC" in Japanese?
---
Well, the L-E did get around to printing a correction about the projected
costs of the River Road roundabout, but.. BUT putting it in the L-E's
"Corrections" box in the least read place (low/inside column of page A2) two
days later rather than on the FRONT PAGE is a little bit... no,, a GREAT deal
condescending to the airing the truth

From L-E editorial: "University of Georgia public policy professor David
Bradford told the committee that controlled access to medical cannabis can
actually save money and lives: Patients who use cannabis instead of opioids for
relief don’t face the risk of addiction and overdose." -- "don't face risk of
addiction"? Good grief.. if you turn to a "pain reliever" at the first sign of
discomfort.. isn't that the textbook description of "addiction"?

L-E headline/story: " Free popcorn at some Columbus AMC theaters * Based on
availability, customers can get: A Free small popcorn: Friday-Sunday; A $2 hot
dogs: Friday; A $2 candy: Saturday; A $2 small frozen drink: Sunday" -- Free
popcorn? Obviously you will buy a drink to quench the thirst initiated by salt
doused popcorn, but the "$2.00 Candy" is the one that amuses me.. those usually
$4.25 boxes that will be sold for $2.00 can be picked up at local retail stores
for $1.00 each any day of the week.
