You know, the concept of "Habitat for Humanity" is wonderful..to build low cost housing that replaces blight and brings the stability of individual ownership back to neighborhoods. Bravo....unfortunately, it seems that the Columbus administrative/executive aspect of Habitat does not follow these standards. The current view of the local Habitat office from both Veterans Parkway and River Road is a blatant eyesore that demeans.. undermines.. the purpose of the organization.

Well.. maybe if you are a MCSD employee, but it helps neither students or families to have to find caretakers for their small children while parents are having to work during "break times".. nor does it help the students and their families nor the community to have teenagers idling away their time with nothing constructive to do.

Random thought.. Yesterday, I was driving behind a car that had an unusual
looking handicap license plate on it, but I could not tell what state the car
was licensed in.. The dealers tag frame covered up all the info except for the
plate number and the validation sticker. I know this is against the law as a
plate should be identifiable at all times, but how do dealers get away with
giving away such detriments to safe driving?

Another Random Thought.. there's a picture in the L-E of the fictitious
Central High of Phenix City's girls basketball team. Curious at seeing and all
black team and all black coaching/support staff got my curiosity up.. Central
High of Phenix City has a racial mix of 68.4% black, 28.8% white and the
balance between Asian/Hispanic/Other. I grew up at a time that schools were
segregated, and was an early proponent of integration.. especially within the
staffs of each school. How did segregation creep back into our schools?
