The prosecution has rested, and Bomber Brother 2's lawyers admitted in their opening statement that BB2 had "participated" in the bombings... now the City of Boston and the American jury system is on trial.. The longer the jury deliberates, the more encouraged jihadist around the world will be.

---
Think about it... if the BB2 jury drags its feet, or, heaven forbid, acquits BB2, jihadist around the world will try to dream up more, and more inane, senseless acts of violence to see exactly how deep American liberalism has infected our legal and political systems.

HuffPOOPOO story: "The Justice Department urged a federal appeals court Monday to reverse a hold a judge placed on President Barack Obama's immigration executive action. * The 69-page brief was filed with the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ahead of arguments scheduled for next month. * Lawyers for the federal government are challenging a preliminary injunction issued in February by a federal judge in Brownsville, Texas. That decision placed on hold an executive action that could spare from deportation as many as 5 million people who are in the U.S. illegally." -- Good grief... how can Obamageddon... any president for that matter, take "executive action" to circumvent a Constitutional obligation, and the DOJ try to defend his action?
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Martha Stewart Delivers The Dirtiest Joke Of All At Justin Bieber's Roast" -- Huh? "roast"... you "roast" a person of standing, because such person has inspired a nation, the world.. this, at best, was a wienie roast.

Online headline: "Washington gov, Seattle mayor ban official travel to Indiana in wake of 'religious freedom' law" -- Good grief.. what about the other 19 states that have one? Oh, and don't forget the national religious freedom act signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1993...the sad thing is, you know.. what the bill actually does is keep government from being a bully.. it simply allows people to make choices... good choices will help smart businesses grow.. bad choices will bring a demise to the "less smart" ones. In the end, customers are better served by a business that wants to do business with them, and if businesses refuse to do business for certain customers, that info gets out, and more customers will find other places to take their business . The Justice Department has created this dreadful situation.. the DOJ should just let moral issues be handled by God's will.

Online story: "The Supreme Court has denied an appeal from former California high school students who were ordered to turn their American flag T-shirts inside out during a celebration of the Cinco de Mayo holiday at school. * The justices did not comment Monday in leaving in place an appellate ruling that found that school officials acted appropriately because their concerns about racial violence outweighed students' freedom of expression rights. Administrators feared the American-flag shirts would enflame the passions of Latino students celebrating the Mexican holiday." -- Good grief... the US Supreme Court has sold out America! The real trial point is why the school was celebrating Cinco de Mayo in the first place.. To begin withm Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day.. it is the date of some Mexican victory over some French army in 1862, and the "revival" was instigated by a beer company to have another heavy drinking date following St Patrick's Day, and Spring Break to warm up for July 4th.

Online quote source: "“Disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and important, although difficult, is the highroad to pride, self-esteem, and personal satisfaction.” - Margaret Thatcher "-- Hmmm, another one of those "pearls of wisdom" never to be seen on the walls of public schools or entitlement offices... or Democratic Party voter registration events.
---
About that "CHANGE" Obamageddon has always promised to give us..if he was behind the register at a fast food restaurant, we would count it to make sure it is the CORRECT "change".
---
Let's admit it...when the Islamic world knows how spineless HEBDObama is, how can America expect to get a good deal when HEBDObama's "b-team" designated pitcher is up at bat with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th?
---
You know...now that Hillewinsky has announced that her and Bill's private server has been "wiped", there should be no more delays in turning the server over to the House investigative committees. Let's see what a high-tech sweep of that server reveals in the hands of a real private sector techie.
---
Hillewinsky now says her personal server has been "wiped clean"... Guess this is the Trifecta.. since her conscience and moral turpitude have been wiped, too.

L-E story: " After years of waiting, 26 months of construction and $5.6 million in funding, the Brown Avenue Bridge reopened today to the applause of more than 100 people gathered there." -- Good grief.. does this not encapsulate goverment inefficiency in a nutshell? 2+ years and we get a two-lane, bottle-neck bridge-to-nowhere that costs over $5 Million tax dollars from the same entity that's taking 3 years and $9 Million to widen Whittlesey Road for 2/3rds of a mile, and is building the Queen TT Lounge on the RiverWalk for $244 Thousand tax dollars?

Random thought: "Hmmm... why not tap the MCSD SPLOST accounts for renovation money to upgrade the Recorder's Court? Huh? you say.. well, most of the arrested haven't been long out of school, and obviously the school system didn't prepare them for Real Life 101.

Online story: "President Barack Obama said Tuesday that the U.S. is weighing whether to back Palestinian efforts to seek U.N. recognition for an independent state and that recent remarks by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dim hope for a negotiated two-state solution. * Obama's comments at the White House did little to repair rocky U.S.-Israeli relations, which were aggravated by a Wall Street Journal report Tuesday alleging Israel spied on sensitive negotiations about Iran's nuclear program. The report said Israel acquired information from confidential U.S. briefings and other means and shared it with members of Congress to build a case against making a deal with Iran, which has threatened to destroy Israel." -- " Israel spied" and "shared it"? Good grief.. even Netanyahu knows that Obamageddon doesn't converse with Republicans or the Jewish community! Once again, why does the Jewish community support Democrats?

---
In a recent conversation with a MCSD teacher, I learned of a specific area of waste... teacher distributed laptops... the teacher said it was forced to sign a responsibility "contract" for it's computer at a replacement value of $2,400.00.... the teacher says it has a better one at home that cost only $700.00. What's sad it=s that the MCSD spokesperson will claim the computer is fairly priced. Did Jay Carney quit being the "Official White House Liar Messenger" to start a MCSD Spokesperson training course?

---
Speaking of MCSD distributed laptops...how come only some schools get them, and what does the MCSD do with them when the student graduates?

---
Online headline: "Kerry postpones homecoming amid nuke talks * John Kerry announced Sunday he is extending his stay in Switzerland as the high-pressure deadline for a nuclear deal with Iran approaches." -- Good grief.. there was a time that America could... would.. throw a treaty on the table and say, "Our way or the highway... take or leave it... go ahead, punk, make my day!" Thank goodness the Republicans in Congress are not letting Obamageddon sell us out!

---
John Wayne is dead, but Clint Eastwood isn't.. Let's start a petition to replace Kerry with Eastwood!

Online story: "Organizers of a soccer match in the U.S. capital apologized to El Salvador on Sunday for playing the wrong national anthem before an exhibition game against Argentina. * Salvadoran team members looked confused when what was supposed to their anthem blared from loudspeakers at FedEx Field on Saturday night. Several slowly dropped their hands from their chests. Many of the Salvadorans in the crowd whistled in disgust" -- Hey! Now this is something Kerry is qualified, and should be called back, to handle, Then Eastwood can take over the Irani treaty negotiation..

---
Online story: "It's not everyday that a sitting president invites someone to the White House to criticize a 44-year-old national policy. * When he was a state legislator, Obama noticed the negative side effects brought on by the war on drugs." -- Good grief... no wonder no problems get solved... Obamageddon gets elected on promises to solve problems, but doesn't know there ARE problems until after he reads about it in a newspaper...

---
Online story: "Paleontologists have discovered the fossilized remains of a new arthropod. * Yawunik kootenayi was swimming around oceans in Canada in the Cambrian period, 508 million years ago. It's thought to share a common ancestor with today's spiders and scorpions. * The arthropod had four eyes and arms lined with both tiny claws to help it feed, and long antennae to sense its surroundings." -- Wait a minute... those still exist in a 21st Century form.. we see them as Democratic Party politicians and IRS tax collectors.

The enclosed checks also included the notation, "Dinner out." * By SI's (Sports Illustrated) count, Smith coached 184 players from 1961 to 1997." -- $184 times $200.00.. $36,800... hmmm.. bet that's the same number the lawyers charged Smith's estate to write and mail out those checks as well...

This item is not something I want to address, but it's taking up to much space on the I-net, and it is. basically. a "headlie", and it NEEDS to be addressed on that basis. Online story: "While in Sweden, President Obama complained about the way he’s sometimes treated back home in the United States, and suggested he’d be more welcomed in Europe: * “You know, I have to say that if I were here in Europe, I’d probably be considered right in the middle," -- Hmmm...just like here... "right-in-the-middle" of scandals, more scandals, lies, and more lies, not just "in the middle"... CAUGHT in the middle of such.

Online story: "When it comes to reporting on Hillary Clinton, George Carlin’s “Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television” have turned into “Twelve Words You Can Never Say About a Powerful Politician.” “We will be watching, reading, listening and protesting coded sexism,” the pro-Hillary group HRC Super Volunteers warned The New York Times’ Amy Chozick . Here's the list of 12 submitted words/word phrases:

polarizing, calculating, disingenuous, insincere, ambitious, inevitable, entitled, over-confident, secretive, will-do-anything-to-win, represents-the-past, out-of-touch.

Well, it seems to me that if Hillewinsky's own supporters compiled this list, then it's how her supporters view her.

Now, I have a list words I think describe her well, but I do not think I can curtail it to 12.. Since I'm pretty sure my words are on the tip of your tongues, I'll give you credit for knowing how I think...

---
While it bothers me that politicians like Obamageddon and Hillewinsky can stand up in front if people with a microphone and just lie at will, what really bothers me is that they do it so comfortably, and that mainstream media winks an eye, and the number of voters that vote for them in spite of knowing they are being lied to.

In a L-E story about problems within the running of the Recorder's Court, there is a statement that implies, though not truly attributed to a Councilperson, that Council is abusing the last LOST tax revenues: "Sales tax could be used to correctly offset the additional case loads stemming from the additional officers on the streets, but the city is now facing problems with the other sales tax because it is factored into the city’s fund balance." Wait a minute.. the second LOST tax campaigners promised to spend 70% of such revenues on additional Public Safety issues. It was not passed to be mixed into the general revenues nor to dilute other public funds going towards Public Safety issues. The Recoder's Court is such a Public Safety eligible entity.. so let's see a list of the places that the additional 70% is being spent.. Hey... why not strip the Crime Prevention Committee of such revenues and give the $700-to-$800 thousand to the real Public Safety issues..

Rumor has it that a person claiming to be Mayor TomLYINGson's (a.k.a. Queen TT) head of some LGBT Committee has said some dastardly things about State Senator McKoon. Maybe the Queen TT Lounge's first "flush" will have a purpose.

L-E commentary from the Washington Post: "Promising gains for U.S. public education system * U.S. education officials in February had some modestly good news to announce: the nation’s high school graduation rate had inched up to a historic high. * This month came even more encouraging news: Those rates have improved for all types of students, as the achievement gap that separates minority students from their white peers has narrowed. * This progress is not mere happenstance; it is a product of reforms that have brought rigor and accountability to American public education. * We hope that reality will not be lost on Congress as it debates the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind." -- You know..there's an inherent problem with any "no child left behind" program and achievement....a good analogy is a group bicycling venture... it doesn't matter what the age span or bicycle competency level of the riders, the goal of group riding is for everyone to get to different stages together. In order to do this.. the best will have to slow down to the pace of the slowest member of the group or complete the stage at his/her own pace.. then sit idly awaiting to slowest member to get there. Either way.. no one is helped.. the slowest, at best , is reminded that he/she is holding up the group, and the fastest is reminded that there's no reward for exceeding.

L-E story: "A California school dispute that arose when students wore shirts emblazoned with the American flag on Cinco de Mayo could prompt the Supreme Court to take a new look at free-speech rules for high schools. * Ever since students protested the Vietnam War by wearing black armbands, the justices have said the First Amendment protects the rights of students to peacefully protest at school, so long as their actions do not lead to a “substantial disruption.” * In recent years, however, some school officials have moved to curtail political fashion statements such as wearing T-shirts with Confederate flags or anti-gay slogans. They have argued that some limits were necessary to avoid offending other students and possibly provoking violence. * On Friday, the justices met to decide on hearing a case asking whether a school official’s fear of violence justified disciplining students for wearing American flags on their shirts." -- Good grief.. why is this an issue.. this is America, dammit, and the American Flag flies supreme at all events!

Instant repeat: This was run in the BC over the weekend, but needs to be "floating out there" on a "work day"

Online story: "Hillary Rodham Clinton wiped her email server "clean," permanently deleting all emails from it, the Republican chairman of a House committee investigating the 2012 Benghazi attacks said Friday.
* Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., said the former secretary of state has failed to produce a single new document in recent weeks and has refused to relinquish her server to a third party for an independent review, as Gowdy has requested. * Clinton's attorney, David Kendall, said Gowdy was looking in the wrong place. * Kendall said in his letter that Clinton's personal attorneys reviewed every email sent and received from her private email address - 62,320 emails in total - and identified all work-related emails. Those totaled 30,490 emails or approximately 55,000 pages. The material was provided to the State Department on Dec. 5, 2014, and it is the agency's discretion to release those emails after a review." --

"looking in the wrong place"? "Clinton's personal attorneys reviewed every email sent and received"? --

Good grief.. if I had my "personal attorneys" reviewing my email for what they were instructed to discern as personal or governmental, I guarantee that nothing they turned over to the government would be a "smoking gun". Since "discernment" of personal versus governmental is at the heart of this situation, I conservatively estimate that 10-minutes-per-email was "billed". 62,320 times 10 equals 623,200 minutes which equals over 10,000 HOURS of "billable time". Conservatively estimating she would have top echelon attorneys doing the discerning, I figure a volume rate of $500.00 per hour is assumable, so I figure her billable time is at least $5,000,000.00. Now.. I want to see proof of this.. I want Hillewinsky to have to produce paid attorney bills covering the reading and discernment of 62,000 emails.....I want to see the time billing documents....I want to see the "PAID" checks... and I want to see whether she paid them or we have been stuck with this "bill" like we've been stuck with her other "Bill".

L-E headline/story: "CSU POLICE SHOOTING * STILL SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS * A year after CSU police fatally shoot Snoop Flint, his family and the university are seeking resolution * CSU gave this account of what happened next:

At 2:35 p.m., someone reported seeing a man loading a gun in the gazebo just south of the main campus intramural field. A CSU officer got there in 3 minutes. Scott remained at the basketball game.
The responding officer reported the suspect ran when approached. The chase from the gazebo went into the adjacent student housing complex, turned east to cross University Avenue, went around behind the CSU law enforcement Command College and the Baptist student ministry next door, came back across the avenue and went into the intramural field just north of the gazebo. * On the intramural field, students were playing Ultimate Frisbee. That’s where the officer chasing Snoop tried to Tase him. * For a Taser to work, each of its two prongs must hit a suspect to deliver the incapacitating jolt of electricity. * “It sounds like they hit him with one probe, not the other, so he continues on the run, through the Frisbee competition, and goes back into the Courtyard 1 housing area,” Drew said. * Scott joined the pursuit. Ignoring commands to stop and drop the gun, Snoop ran south into Courtyard 1, CSU said. * It was near Building A off University Avenue that he turned and raised the gun in his hand toward the two officers in pursuit, Drew said. * Scott fired two shots. One went to the neck and one to the back. * By Snoop’s side, officers found a semi-automatic.40-caliber Glock Model 22 pistol holding eight rounds, they said."
Attorney Katonga Wright, daughter of longtime Columbus lawyer William Wright, is representing the Flint family. Though the family’s perspective of what happened differs from CSU’s, the two sides have a common interest: They want resolution. * Wright said the family likely will file a civil claim, but needs the GBI file for evidence, and can’t get that until Slater decides how she’ll handle the case."
-- Snoop Flint was not a boy, nor apparently was not unarmed.. the story should not have used the 20 year old's nickname, "Snoop" . I just hope the attorney of record helps the family resolve the issue regardless of the outcome.. dragging what seems to be a justified response of the CSU police through a dollar driven civil suit will not resolve nor soothe the family's pains. The truth being accepted will.

And while many student athletes have scholarships to cover a campus meal plan, their on-the-road food stipends are so skimpy that they may be subsisting off pretty pathetic meals while trying to run their bodies on a superstar level. That’s like putting unleaded gas in a race car and expecting optimal performance. * Even with their “full-ride” scholarships, 86 percent of college athletes live below the poverty line. That statistic is brought to you by the National College Players Association. " -- She thinks? Well, I THINK writers should write about things they KNOW about, and newspaper editors should prohibit their staff randomly opinionating on something they know nothing about. College scholarship athletes get opportunities of education, career development, career contacts, and can graduate with no student loan debt for themselves or their families. Some even move into professional sports, and when I say some.. it's very few that develop into the level that they can get paid.. I once figured out that in any given year. less than 1/2 of 1% of college football players get drafted into the NFL.. that means that 99.5% are not good enough for paid athletic jobs.. (Fact: the NFL drafts only 256 players.. 7 rounds for 32 teams.)

Online story: "When he arrived on Capitol Hill in January, freshman Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., discovered something he had no clue was going on. Hundreds of federal employees spend their entire workday -- not doing the business of the government, but working for their unions. * "Waste on an egregious level by federal employees who are taking taxpayer monies and using it for purposes other than the reason they were hired," Hice said. * It's called "official time," and it was sanctioned into law by Congress in 1978. Lawmakers voted to allow federal employees who are union members to spend part of their day addressing union issues. * According to the Office of Personnel Management, in 2012 (the most recent year there are statistics for) federal workers spent 3.4 million man-hours on union issues and not the work they were hired for. OPM estimates the cost to taxpayers was more than $157 million.
What's more, at two government agencies that would seem least able to afford a loss of manpower -- the Veterans Affairs Department and IRS -- hundreds of workers spent 100 percent of their time doing union work. At the VA, 259 employees worked solely on union issues. At the IRS -- which only disclosed their statistics when the National Review sent them a Freedom of Information Act request -- the number was 201." -- Good grief.. 1978... CARTER! Kennedy! O'Neill!
---
Additional irksome info on above: "According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 939,000 federal workers belonged to a union in 2014. Another 139,000 were covered by collective bargaining agreements, but weren't in a union. That brings the total number of employees covered by the unions to 31.6 percent of the total federal workforce. Hice -- who will introduce legislation in the House Thursday to limit "official time" -- doesn't think it's fair that the other 68 percent of federal employees are doing government work every day, while some of their union colleagues are getting paid to not do the work they were hired for." -- Good grief... We wondered... well .. not really.. about why our mail is so slow, and paper work takes so long.. it's just about to get worse now that the actual government workers who work are going to question their own work habits.

At the Disney Store..."Frozen" place mats..reg $6.95..now $4.00; Doc McStuffins placemat reg $6.95... Now .99... Wonder when Al Sharlatan will accuse Disney shoppers being racist?

L-E headline: "Bergdahl charges stoke fresh criticism of prisoner swap" -- Doh!
---
Online story of June 2014: "President Obama said Thursday he would make “absolutely no apologies” for ordering the controversial prisoner swap to rescue Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the last American prisoner of war in Afghanistan." -- You know... I just wish we could hear Obamageddon say, "absolutely no excuses" ... about anything...once...
---
Online headline/story: "CBS “Research Department” Apparently Located in West Wing * CBS News Monday helped celebrate the fifth anniversary of Obamacare by citing a statistic it said its “research department” had uncovered. * Note, the citation in small print for the news that 16 million Americans had been insured under the law. It says, “Source: The White House.” * Here’s where the research came from. * The report by anchor Scott Pelley goes on to cite other good news for Obamacare but unfortunately must acknowledge that Americans don’t like it. However, they just want to fix it, not repeal it like those awful Republicans keep doing!" -- Guess Obamageddon now delivers Kool-Aid by spoonfeeding...
---
Online headline: "Superhighway: Russian official proposes road that could connect London to NYC" -- Hmmm... wonder when our Mayor TomLYINGson's friends will finish a feasibility study to connect Columbus? Well, she could use the $244K Queen TT Lounge at the RiverWalk as a tourist destination incentive.
---
Online quote source: "“You are a product of your environment. So choose the environment that will best develop you toward your objective. Analyze your life in terms of its environment. Are the things around you helping you toward success - or are they holding you back?” - W. Clement Stone -- Another from the series of "words of wisdom" that will not be posted on the walls of government entitlement offices... or cited by Obamageddon or Al Sharlatan.

While vacating this week.. we talked about the Mid-Bay Bridge to the Gulf.. it's about 7 miles long.. I mentioned having crossed the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana. My bride asked how long it was..I didn't know, but looked it up.. 23.87 miles, and it's the longest continuous bridge over water in the WORLD. I found the info on a "Top 10 Longest Bridges" website. One bridge drew instant attention from me .. the Vasco de Gama Bridge in Lisbon, Portugal... why because it is 10.7 Miles, designed to withstand 155 MPH winds and earthquakes 4 times stronger than any that have ever hit the are.. impressive, huh.. but wait there's more.. it was started and finished in 3 YEARS! That's less time than it's taking to connect Whitesville Road and Veterans Parkway with a 2/3s of a mile widening project of Whittlesey Rd!

L-E's "Quotable": “To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.” - Theodore Roosevelt 26th U.S. President (1858-1919)" -- Hmmm... definitely not a quote hanging from the walls of the Department of Education, the DNC, the ACLU or the MCSB.

Thursday, March 26, 2015

WLTZ 38 News headline: "Mayor proposes to thaw the property tax freeze" -- Here we go again.. The current "freeze" is actually better than Mayor TomLYINGson's personal rewrite.. With the existing one, as Jack King, Realtor/Developer so well states, ""Every homeowner that buys a house has the piece of mind of knowing that his taxes will not be increased because (of) someone (else's) opinion" says former Columbus city council member, Jack Land, who proposed the original property tax freeze in 1982. * Land says there is an automatic sunset provision. Every time you sell a home the freeze is eliminated and goes in effect again for the new home owner based on the new value,"says Land" -- Jack is right, and Mayor TomLYINGson is... well... Mayor TomLYINGson...The current freeze actually a blessing to new and young home buyers.. knowing that no Mayoral whim will send their property tax soaring (and becoming a budget buster) allows for better financial planning for home buyers.

Why does Obamageddon go out and push the success of OObamaCRAP, when claiming such just makes us think he's lying as usual?

---
So the White House "feels" meetings with Netanyahu would have been a conflict.. yet meetings, 100s of meetings, with GOOGLE execs leading up to investigative charges being dropped had no conflict?

---
You know, if "Crime Prevention" money was spent on taking teenaged delinquents to watch executions of murderers, I might see that spending such money could be a preventative measure. Unfortunately, though, by the time some heinous criminal goes through the appeal system, young teens who might benefit from early intervention would be in their thirties before the executions happen.

---
Online headline: "Business dealings of Hillary Clinton's brother raise new questions" -- Good grief.. Hillewinkys' "business dealings" raise enough questions, but mainstream media isn't interested in finding answers, so why are we even concerned at questions her brother raises?

---
Online headline/story: "Bergdahl to face court-martial for desertion * Officials revealed Wednesday that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, held captive by the Taliban for five years, will be charged for leaving his post. * Obamageddon spokeparrot, Jen Psaki told Megyn Kelly on Fox News', "Was it worth it? Absolutely," "We have a commitment to our men and women serving in the military, defending our national security every day, that we're going to do everything to bring them home if we can, and that's what we did in this case." -- Good grief...Where to start... with Obamageddon's revealing his disloyalties to American soldiers, or with a wish for Obamageddon to be charged with desertion the next time he takes off to play golf and be "course martialed"?

---
L-E headline: "U.S. CONGRESS * GOP-controlled House passes budget to erase deficits * Budget calls for increase in overall defense spending to $612 billion" -- Hmmm... now will all Democrats against responsibility please stand and oppose....

---
L-E story: "A Columbus man is accused of firing a gunshot at a vehicle during a dispute with his ex-wife early Wednesday, police said. * Tyrone Ellison Jr., 26, faces three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of cruelty to children third degree, one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, one count of open container and one count of driving under the influence in the 2:45 a.m. shooting in the 300 block of 32nd Avenue." -- Hmmm... how about attempted murder.. at least 3 counts? ..now.. did he own the gun legally? While it doesn't mention or suggest any priors, if he had any convictions previously, and was using a weapon to commit another crime.. an automatic death sentence should be on the table.. hardline sentencing laws and execution of those is the way to curtail such flagrant usages.

L-E headline/story: " City gives $3.1M to crime prevention since 2010 * Some grassroots leaders say grants go to wrong organizations * Seth Brown, the city’s director of crime prevention, said the programs funded so far have saved taxpayers about $2.5 million by reducing recidivism rates at the local county jail and steering people away from criminal activity." -- You know .. spending $3.1 Million to save an undocumented $2.5 Million doesn't seem like a "good investment.. Given that documentation is/would be hard to "prove" as an absolute, how about requiring all recipients provide their 990 Tax forms and 501 (c) 3 IRS charitable organization letters before being given any funds.
---
Hmmm.. Jihad Aleem Hud.. could it be that there are two Dr. J. Aleem Huds, and only one is named Jihad?
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " When it comes to the losers of the SPLOST vote, sour grapes are not only rampant, they’re fermenting and setting a bad example for the ones we claim to care about." -- 8,900 +/- "yeses" do not make for a community confirmation. With over 100,000 registered voters, and over half of those would be MCSD employees or parents of school aged children, the lack of confirmation of those most directly affected rings loudly of apathy. Contact your reps and get three things changed before the MCSD/MCSB makes another "end run" for another SPLOST in 2021. 1 - eliminate "special elections" - such referendums need to be combined with the November only General Election agenda. 2 - the formation of a SPLOST Project Review process.. the GA Laws strictly prohibit maintenance projects except explicit ones pertaining to "roads. streets, and bridges", and 3 - No SPLOST project figures to exceed more than 90% of the 1% of sales taxes collected inn the affected areas in the previous 5 years. The 2009 and 2015 SPLOST goals did not, will not attain such, but not being restricted allows many not-going-to-happen one-issue projects to be added to appeal to one-issue voter groups.
---
L-E headline: "Piece of Whittlesey Road to close April 6 for 45 days" -- Hmmm... is it coincidence that the same person who brought us the wasteful SPLOST is the same guy in charge of the much delayed, over budget Whittlesey Road widening? Nah...
---
On above headline: You know.. why doesn't the GA DOT just close ALL of the above road and complete the rest of it in those same 45 days? How many times have you ridden down Whittlesey and seen idle equipment and zero workers on a nice sunny day...
---
L-E commentary column: "Richard Hyatt: Should kids be out of school for Good Friday?" -- Hmmm...Let's just simplify the situation... no Easter observance for Christians, no Christmas holidays for non-Christians.

Online story: "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu apologized to Israel's Arab citizens on Monday for remarks he made during last week's parliament election that offended members of the community. * "This was never my intent. I apologize for this," Netanyahu said. "I view myself as the prime minister of each and every citizen of Israel, without any prejudice based on religion, ethnicity or gender." -- Well, well, well... while Netanyahu is not as tall as Obamageddon, he just showed he's a much bigger man...Obamageddon doesn't even feel he owes any apology to any ethnicity or religion or non-alternative lifestyle to any American citizen.
---
From the "speaking of unaddressed gender bias" department - Online story: "A four-month police investigation into an alleged gang rape at the University of Virginia that Rolling Stone magazine described in graphic detail produced no evidence of the attack and was stymied by the accuser's unwillingness to cooperate, authorities said Monday." -- Now, why hasn't U of VA President Teresa Sullivan been fired for her blatant gender attack on every U of VA Fraternity following the false accusations?
---
From the "you're pulling my chain" department - Online story: "During a mass in Naples on Saturday, he was given a vial of dried blood belonging to St. Gennaro, the city's patron saint. * The archbishop of Naples says when Francis kissed the glass, the blood half-liquified and the cardinal declared it a miracle. * The pope then joked that he and his congregation had to work harder since, quote, "the saint only loves us half-way." * St. Gennaro was martyred in AD 305. The church's followers believe that with enough prayer the preserved blood will liquify when it's put on display during the three feast days celebrated each year. *According to the Catholic Herald, Saturday was the first time the blood has liquified in the papal presence since 1848, when it did so in front of Pope Pius IX" -- Excuse me, but a half-fast parlor trick is not a "miracle", and if anything, just questions the leadership of Popes in the previous 166+ years since 1848.
---
Good grief.. the birth certificate of Ted Cruz is already being blasted... by the same people who squawked the loudest at any question of Obamageddon's. and at any fact that Obamageddon says that even illegal aliens born in the country can claim all members of their family as having citizenship rights in America.
---
HuffPOOPOO story: "The number of uninsured U.S. residents fell by more than 11 million since President Barack Obama signed the health care overhaul five years ago, according to a pair of reports Tuesday from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. * Although that still would leave about 37 million people uninsured, it's the lowest level measured in more than 15 years." -- Excuse me.. but what's the difference between uninsured indigent care, and taxpayer subsidized healthcare insurance... especially illegally subsidized healthcare insurance?
---
HuffPOOPOO interview with Obamageddon: "What we have done though is consistently looked for additional opportunities to get stuff done. Wherever we see a possibility of increasing wages, creating more jobs, making sure that more people are able to access opportunity, we’re gonna seize it. And we’re going to, wherever possible, try to reach out to Republicans and see if they can work with us. And where they’re not willing to work with us, we will do it administratively or we will convene the private sector. * By hook or by crook, we’re going to make sure that when I leave this office, that the country is more prosperous, more people have opportunity, kids have a better education, we’re more competitive, climate change is being taken more seriously than it was, and we are actually trying to do something about it. Those are going to be the measures by which I look back and say whether I’ve been successful as president." -- "By hook or by crook, we’re going to make sure that when I leave this office, that the country is more prosperous, more people have opportunity, kids have a better education, we’re more competitive" ....hmmm.. you know.. Obamageddon may just be able to say that with credibility.. if the next president is not a Democrat, historians can say for sure that Obamageddon finally created Hope & Change... when he left office.
---
L-E story: "Saying the Russell County Commission was being bullied by the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, the county attorney said his recommendation was county employee information including names, job titles and salaries be released to the public." -- You have to wonder who Chuck Williams has a grudge against.. The Russell County Commission released the salaries of its department heads, and surely, employees working in each department have budgetary restraints most government and private practice businesses practice.
---
The L-E could do more good for this community, and for local education, if it listed just the MCSD employees that the state does not fund because of non-necessity and non-compliance issues.. In 1990, when the budget was "only" $54,000,000.00, the state did not fund 200 teaching/administrative positions. The state deemed them "unnecessary". That was out of 2,000 administrative/teacher positions. Those 200 were averaging $45K in salary/benefits (in 1990 dollars), which meant the state was not funding $9,000,000.00 of local school officials. That was 1/6th of the total budget. Just think about this compared to today's budget of $275+/- Million.. 1/6th of that is $45.8 MILLION. That's even more than a year's worth of SPLOST tax revenue, and that's probably available every year to go into classrooms via teacher raises and supplies/equipment for the students. Oh.. BTW, in 1990, the MCSD had 32,000 students... same as today.
---
You know.. in three or 4 years, when Dr Lewis goes job searching again.. he will use images of SPLOST projects done hear in his slide show resume'.. makes you really wonder why he didn't offer any images of any projects he oversaw in Polk County, FL during this past SP:LOST campaign.
---
When he's "pausing" for a round of affirmation applause, Ted Cruz needs to look humble..not smug...we see enough of that from the Democrats.
---
Online story: "In order to deal with what Hillary Clinton calls this nation’s “fun deficit,” the former Secretary of State stated in a recent speech that Americans need to be checked into ‘fun camps’ for re-education." -- Good grief.. after the past 23 years of Hillewinsky's "fun". are not laughing.
---
Apparently there were a number of "anti-white" Black Brunch protests in Atlanta on Sunday... why is there no mention in mainstream media.. ooops, excuse me.. did I say "why"?
---
From the "only in California" department - L-E story: "San Francisco Supervisor John Avalos last week offered a proposal to lower the voting age to 16. He will seek to put the measure on the ballot this November or next year. * “In a lot of ways, young people have been showing that they have the ability to shape the world they live in,” Avalos said in a telephone interview. “It makes a lot of sense that we honor that work with helping them to elect the people representing them.” -- You know.. in a time when 14/15 year olds were educated, working, even married with children, our founding fathers had the foresight to restrict the age of voting to 18 and older. Why does California think high school students living off their parents are equipped to vote. Can you not see School Board candidates promising no more homework, and adding free chocolate milk, and no more government nutritionists' menus at lunch?
---
L-E Commentary: Andres Oppenheimer * Obama’s rift with South America grows" -- Fancy that.. how come no mention of the rift between Obamageddon and America's South as well? For that matter.. how about Obamageddon's rify with American CITIZENS in general?
--
These last two items.. they are in the L-E print editions, but not findable in the L-E Online edition.. maybe the L-E trying to limit comments from its readers that will differ from the L-E staffs'...

L-E story: "Police are on the lookout for two of the three robbers who reportedly assaulted a 24-year-old woman Sunday in her Super 8 Columbus Airport room, according to Columbus officials. * The third alleged offender, 24-year-old Miles Brandon Archie, was arrested at his 6311 Old Post Court home just a few hours after the 1:20 a.m. incident at 2935 Warm Springs Road, officials said. * Archie faced a robbery charge Monday in Columbus Recorder’s Court and pleaded not guilty. The judge placed him in the Muscogee County Jail under a $25,000 bond. Archie’s case was bound over to Superior Court. A witness told police that the attackers struck the victim in the chest and grabbed her bag, which held her cellphone, $150 to $200 and an EBT card" -- an EBT card"? Good grief.. no info where the woman calls home...and no info as to whether the EBT program has any info on her unreported income source.. Come on L-E.. either the complete story or none at all.

Online story: "The Supreme Court is considering whether the Americans With Disabilities Act requires police to take special precautions when trying to arrest armed and violent suspects who are mentally ill. * The justices hear arguments Monday in a dispute over how police in San Francisco dealt with a woman suffering from schizophrenia who had threatened to kill her social worker. Police forced their way into Teresa Sheehan's room at a group home and then shot her five times after she came at them with a knife.
Sheehan survived and later sued the city, claiming police had a duty under the ADA to consider her mental illness and take more steps to avoid a violent confrontation. * Her attorneys say laws protecting the disabled require police to make reasonable accommodations when arresting people who have mental or physical disabilities." -- Good grief! Police Lives Matter! Tell you what.. when the law requires a schizophrenic or bi-polar person to wear a sign/t-shirt at all times saying "I'm schizo/bi-polar and off my meds.. maybe police would have the extra evaluation time of dealing with a person charging at them with a weapon.. until then.. police need to be in control when a weapon is involved...
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "President Obama releases statement" -- Oooops, my bad... thought Obamageddon had signed a pardon for all his lies.
---
Online headline: "Sen. Ted Cruz confirms 2016 bid via Twitter" -- Good grief.. another stupid Republican trick.. Cruz just confirmed, in less than 140 spaces, to the mainstream media that he's a "big twit"...
---
Online story: ""It might surprise you to know that a 12-ounce serving of Guinness has only 124 calories. A great way to go lighter is to go darker," says a Guinness commercial. * Be surprised no more, Guinness drinkers! Diageo, the company that owns Guinness as well as Johnnie Walker, Ketel One, Baileys and a host of other beers, wines and spirits will put nutrition labels on its beverages." -- Good grief.. next we'll see ads calling alcohol a "health food".
---
Online quote source: "“Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another.” - Napoleon Hill" -- Hmmm... another one the Democrats are dyslexic about.. psst..you know... "Speak twice before you think"....

One of my nieces/nephew couple has started up a new company of Christian inspirational wear. Take a peek.. http://www.foundstrong.com/ - If no need for products, there are links to some worthy charities that might interest you.

With local teachers not getting raises for, what, 9 years, don't you know they have really appreciated the local property tax freeze on their homes? The tax freeze allows homeowners a stable obligatory budget item. PS - the recently passed SPLOST won't help them either.. in fact, it takes $35,000,000.00 annually out of retail circulation that would be taxed by the state which would probably increase the budget share of the state's education funding.. which, ironically, has a better chance of getting to teachers in raises.
---
What's with the L-E's intrigue of wanting to publish Columbus and Phenix City employee wages, and executive salary packages of local stock exchange listed corporations, yet the L-E has no interest in filleting the MCSD expenditures? Maybe the L-E should publish individual writers' salaries on their bylines...
---
You know.. In the private sector, I'd say there is a direct correlation between the success of the company and the compensation of it's employees. Judging by the pissing contest the L-E is stirring up, a rise in the minimum wage will benefit most of its writing staff.

HuffPOOPOO story: "President Barack Obama plans to grant clemency to federal offenders "more aggressively" during the remainder of his presidency, he said in a sit-down interview with The Huffington Post on Friday. * Presidential pardons allow a new start for many who receive them. They do not wipe away convictions, but they can restore rights to vote, possess firearms and obtain business licenses, and may reduce barriers to some jobs. Commutations grant federal prisoners early release." -- Good grief... Obamageddon wants to take away guns from law abiding private citizens, but give guns to convicted criminals!
---
From the "who'da ever thunk it" department - Online story: "Rene "Boxer" Enriquez, an ex-Mexican Mafia leader has been in prison since 1993 on a 20-years-to-life sentence, has gained allies in law enforcement. Gov. Jerry Brown has acknowledged Enriquez's past cooperation with authorities but denied him parole last month, saying his history of violence meant he still presented "an unreasonable danger to society if released." -- Good grief.. California Governor Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown is showing a better command of his senses than Obamageddon!

---
HuffPOOPOO story: "— The U.S. must release photographs showing abuse of detainees in Iraq and Afghanistan, U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein has ruled in a long-running clash over letting the world see potentially disturbing images of how the military treated prisoners." -- Good grief.. how about a joint showing along with jihadist Islamic terrorists' "selfies" of children they've beheaded....
---
Online headline: "Obama rips Bibi's heated campaign rhetoric in interview" -- Once again, why does the Jewish vote support Democrats?
---
Online quote source: "“There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting.” - Buddha" -- Eric Holder and Obamageddon have found the third way... making it up as you go.
---
Obamageddon wants everyone to vote or face penalties/fines...maybe even jail time. Hmmm, have you ever heard him say the those who vote illegally or twice should be penalized/jailed?
---
You know if Hillewinsky should be elected president..her probable economic advisor and cabinet member feels that the government is probably a better administrator of YOUR 401K savings account than you are. Can you afford that? Are there enough 401K account holder to out vote those who don't have them?
---
Has anyone questioned why the MCSD/MCSB SPLOST is paying a Financial Institution to-be-revealed $4 Million to issue $70 Million in bonds? That's 5.7% when interest rates are so low?
---
L-E story: "Russell County refuses to release workers’ salaries * By CHUCK WILLIAMS chwilliams@ledger-enquirer.com   * Despite repeated requests from the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, the Russell County administrator’s office has refused to release complete personnel information, including the names of those who work for the county." -- I hope Russell County counter files to have Chuck William's salary published on the front page, above the fold.... It's bad enough the L-E has exposed non-department head wages of the City of Columbus so that anyone has access to such info...
---
You know.. if Chuck Williams had wanted a real story to dig into and reveal personal infomation, he could have filled several columns on waste and inefficiency of the MCSD/MCSB. Guess his "boss" made him pull his punches.
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Real Americans, not just Democrats, are angry with the Republicans for writing the letter to Iran because it is unconstitutional and treasonous." -- Wait a minute.. just why does this guy think that real American patriots even consider Democrats as "real Americans"?
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "We are extremely lucky to be able to view world history as it unfolds. Can you think of any other time that is so interesting?" -- "world history as it unfolds"? World history .. maybe, but only as the mainstream media rewrites it..
---
Jonathan Gruber double-extra-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Today’s right-wing Sound Offs prove insanity in Columbus is rampant." -- This guy is so liberal he must feel Obamageddon is a right-winger...
--
Good grief.. the "Yes for US..uh..Kids" committee ran another ad in the L-E this morning.. a "thank you".. What an appropriate waste of money! Good grief, the "Yes of US .. uh..Kids" $200,000.00 campaign couldn't generate but 8,900 supporters from over 50,000 MCSD employees/retirees and parents of children in school to actually vote for supporting further waste by the MCSD. Since the election is over, I guess the committee feels it owes the L-E for not digging into and publishing all the waste, such as $312.00 per square foot wrestling and weight rooms...
---
You know... the above situation ought to really irk the L-E.. the L-E bent over backwards to help conceal the waste, yet the "Yes for US...uh..Kids" committee spent most of it's money on signs, robo-calls, TV and radio. The L-E is cheap to buy off...
---
L-E headline: "Afghan president to embark on landmark Washington visit" -- Hmmm... wanna bet on how low Obamageddon will bow down?
---
You know.. if Hillewinsky had included mainstream media in her direct e-mail lists, mainstream media would have deleted them, too.

Random Thought: Future presidents of the US are going to have an almost impossible "connect" issue with citizens of America and the world. After Obamageddon has sent out emissaries like Robert Gibbs, Jay Carney, Josh Earnest, Joe Biden, Susan King, Eric Holder, Jen Psaki, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry to explain and/or deliver messages, no one will ever believe what the next ..or for that matter, any future president says on domestic or foreign policy. Just the fact that these people's names are readily identifiable to the general public speaks volumes about the damage Obamageddon has caused.
---
Soapbox Moment: At long last, the Fine Arts Academy will get started.. $36 Million for an elitist foray into extreme selectivism.. Elitist? Selectivism? You betcha! 600 students from 6th grade to 12th grade.. That's 7 grades, so each grade will have but about 85 students per grade.. Sure 600 "select student will be tapped in "year one", but after that, only 85 entering 6th grade students will be screened and selected (well, there will be some attrition through moves and drop outs.. maybe even a few by expulsion should progress be faltering). Can you not see what will happen...almost guaranteed to happen.. Student wannabe's will have to "try out" for spots.. should your child be pretty good, he/she may follow a child prodigy/protege and be found lacking.. or your child may have to be chosen for a spot between him/her and a child of a MCSD administrator or perhaps the child of a friend of the screening committee, or, heaven help us "political correctness". Yes.. this will be an excursion into extreme elitism as it can possibly get in a public school system. Columbus High and other magnet programs will look like open door programs. What has been wrought!
---
You know.. there is only one fair solution... The Fine Arts Academy plans need to be scrapped and the already "squirreled away" $30,000,000.00 should be spent on correcting ignored problems like autism retrofits, handicap accesses, and textbook acquisitions starting this week. When the other $6,000,000.00 is collected, then use it to jumpstart music/arts programs that already exist or need to be restarted in schools that they were previously stripped away from.

L-E headline/story: "GEORGIA SCHOOL CLIMATE STAR RATINGS * Mixed reviews for local schools in climate ratings * Local schools received mixed reviews as the Georgia Department of Education released ratings designed to express what it calls “the quality and character of school life — the culture of a school.”
Billed as the first in the nation, the inaugural Georgia School Climate Star Ratings are based on data from the 2013-14 school year.
The school climates are expressed by the following star ratings:
• 5 stars = excellent
• 4 stars = above average
• 3 stars = average
• 2 stars = below satisfactory
• 1 star = unsatisfactory
Six local schools received 5 stars: Key Elementary, Midland Academy, Double Churches Middle and Columbus High in Muscogee County, and Creekside and Park in Harris County. Two local schools received one star: St. Marys Road Elementary and Baker Middle. All the rest in Muscogee, Harris and Chattahoochee counties received 4, 3 or 2 stars." -- Good grief.. wanna bet this story was available before the SPLOST election? Now.. it's almost condescending.. and very revealing the Mark Price has conveniently not included all the individual schools' "star ratings". Listing 4 MCSD schools as 5s, and 2 schools as 1s while intimating a balance between the other rating levels exacerbates the cover up already in effect by the MCSDMCSB. The L-E does such damage by soft-peddling the deficiencies of the MCSD and bringing parents up-to-date on such.
On above story: Something is amiss here.. there's no mention of Dorothy Height Elementary on this list but it's listed on the MCSD site, and Cusseta Road Elementary and Muscogee Elementary is listed on this list but not on the MCSD web site.
In addition Key & Midland Elementary (with points ratings of 71.6 each) are listed as 5-Star schools, while 9 other MCSD elementary schools have 4-Star rating but higher point ratings that Key & Midland..
Also, this list says we have 33 elementary schools yet the MCSD site says we have 32.. Muscogee and Cusseta Road are listed on this list but not the MCSD list, and Dorothy Height is not on this list but included on the MCSD site

Rumor had it that Obamageddon had purchased a mansion in Hawaii..mistaken identity...now it has been determined that a Chicago friend of Obamageddon has purchased it.. wonder if there was amistaken identity when the Hawaiian birth certificate were issued?
---
You know..despite Lewis' "attempt" to divide the school areas in 3 "perpendicular" lines, he still worked the SPLOST on the dreaded "horizontal" line.
---
From L-E story on post-SPLOST analysis: "What about all those (YES) voters from Green Island and Wildwood who favored the tax? Many believe in the Muscogee County School District Superintendent, David Lewis, who came to town talking about abolishing the Macon-Dixon line, has a 10-year plan to improve the schools, and has said he plans to keep Columbus High School a total magnet school." -- Good grief.. anyone who thinks we'll ever have a 10-tear serving Superintendent again is pipe-smoking... uh, pipe dreaming.

Comment on above: "What this boils down to is that with 8,900 "YES" voters determining the result, is because of such an unfriendly election date. You know, of 100,000 registered voters, parents of the 32,000 students, and employees of the MCSD (current and retired) constitute well over half the voter base. The fact that only 8900 bothered to vote "yes" means an overwhelming majority of such did not show up in support. Sad....but very revealing..
---
Oh.. you question my analysis.. look at it this way.. if the MCSD/MCSB were though of as efficient and proficient, the MCSB would WANT to have SPLOST elections when more parents and employees are swept up in voting stages.

L-E headline/story: "Officials say Urban League's report on crisis in black America reflects race issues in Columbus * Tonza Thomas, president of the local branch of the NAACP, said education is a big concern in Columbus. While the branch didn't take an official position on the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, which voters recently approved with a 54 percent to 46 percent vote, Thomas said she's not convinced that another sales tax will make a difference. * "We are always promised something and they can always get us to sign on to it to make it sound good," she said." -- "we ( I can only assume she means the black vote) are always promised something and they (obviously Democrats) can always get us to sign on to it to make it sound good"? You know.. independence and freedom are not the results of being told how to vote; it takes learning about the issues and making up your own mind... but doesn't doing the same thing over and over.. like believing Democratic Part unkept campaign promises that are issued to curry the black bloc vote the real problem of not getting better educational results?

Something is amiss here.. there's no mention of Dorothy Height Elementary on this list but it's listed on the MCSD site, and Cusseta Road Elementary is listed on this list but not on the MCSD web site.
Muscogee and Cusseta Road are listed on this list but not the MCSD list, and Dorothy Height is not on this list but included on the MCSD site.

"Almost gets it" L-E "soundoff": "In matters of law, it has always bothered me that the method used to obtain the truth becomes a bigger issue than the truth itself." -- This is what happens with "too many laws" addressing the same facts.. Courts are barraged with appeals on the letter of the law rather than the intent.
---
Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid L-E "soundoff": "Yes, this country did produce presidents like Washington, Lincoln and Roosevelt, but who is alive now to tell anything bad they did back then?" -- Good grief.. our !children's history books are filled with liberal revisionist rewrites of "history"; none of them good or fair to our founding fathers...
---
Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid L-E "soundoff": " If you try to do good, you have prejudiced, hateful extremists trying to make you look bad. Don’t believe me? Look at the Republicans and their friends against Obama." -- Eric Holder, Chris Mathews, or Jay Carney must have sent this in...

HuffPOOPOO story: "Cheap oil is great when you're filling the tank of your car or topping off fuel for your oil burner for a last-minute winter blast. But not everyone benefits from low oil prices, * For seven years, there was a shortage of staff," said Tobias Read, CEO of staffing firm Swift Worldwide Resources, to Bloomberg. "Now for the first time, there's a surplus. Currently almost no one is hiring." -- Hmm the Democrats' conundrum.. their demon.. "big oil", becoming sympathetic as electric cars pass gas stations.. oh, and "big oil" taxes drying up.

Hmmm.... GA State upset Baylor in the opening round of the NCAA basketball championship. A 14th seed beat a 3rd seed... a 56th+ seed beat a top 12 team. If the field had been 32 instead of 68 teams, this couldn't have happened. While I'm happy for the temporary joy of GA State, tell me..did the NCAA basketball playoffs actually benefit? Dittos for the 14th seed UAB in its upset over 3rd seed Iowa State.
---
Reflecting on the SPLOST.. the "YES" vote attracted 8,900 +/- voters out of some 100,000 or so who are registered.. the parents of 32,000 students alone constitute more than half of that figure, and the MCSD has over 5,000 employees (plus family members) , yet very few were driven to go out and vote in support of what the MCSD/MCSB is doing for their kids. This alone suggests that no tax referendums should be held on non-general election dates. No matter how strong feelings are for parents, one issue elections (especially tax ones) do not have the drawing power to reflect the community interest... either way.
---
Random thought: You know.. any one , and I mean ANY ONE, who thinks we need new gun laws to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and gangs has no idea about the number of laws already on the books that do just that. Laws.. neither new nor old.. aren't the problem.. the problem is a court system that's not restrictive enough on incarcerating/executing abusers of guns.
---
Hmmm... some unknown perpetrator has plastered "Exclusively for White People" sticker on about 6 business in Austin, Texas... pitiful...but then how come mainstream media wasn't/isn't upset at Obamageddon's 10% tax on indoor tanning salons for white people wanting to get tanned?
---
Online headline: "Petraeus: The Islamic State Isn't Our Biggest Problem In Iraq" -- Wow.. so 2 + 2 does equal HEBDObama!

From the "well, well, well" department - Online story: "The Clinton Foundation's flagship public health program reportedly stopped publishing lists of its donors for a five-year period beginning in 2010, breaking a disclosure rule agreed to by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration. * CHAI spokeswoman Maura Daley described the lack of disclosure as "an oversight, which we made up for this year" in an e-mail to Reuters. * Reuters also reported that at least seven foreign governments either began supporting or increased their support for CHAI during Clinton's time as secretary of state. * However, the State Department told Reuters it could not find any records of its officials reviewing or approving any new money for the foundation." -- "couldn't find any records"? Well, at least the State Department is consistent when it comes to not being able to find any records Hillewinsky was responsible for compliance.

I was watching a History Channel series on some possibly manmade roads/breakwater barriers some 90 feet deep off the Bahama Islands. The narrator said today's sea level is 100 feet above the sea level in 10,000 BC. Hmmm, and what manmade activity caused this? We haven't had fossil fuel internal combustion engines but a little over 100 years...

Online headline/story: "University of Georgia Greeks Ban Hoop Skirts Because They Look Racist * Victor Wilson, UGA’s vice president for student affairs, explained that the ban was due to concerns over what kind of “message” the skirt might send, and compared it to a previous ban on Confederate uniforms, according to an article in the Athens Banner-Herald. In other words: The fact that people wore hoop skirts during the era of slavery in the U.S. makes them symbols of racism." -- Good grief... I guess sandals will be next since Jesus wore them...
---
An "almost gets it" L-E "soundoff": "To the 56 percent of the 17 percent who voted, you’re on notice: I will not be buying my car in Columbus." That won't matter.. if you buy a car after June 30th of this year in any state, you will pay the SPLOST tax. Now, there is a way around it.. instead of waiting, buy your car BEFORE July 1st.... double down with the option to pay then one-time fee rather than the annual property tax and you'll save further.

Another "almost gets it" L-E "soundoff": " The Iranians are playing Obama and Kerry like a couple of fine violins." -- Yes, the Iranians are "playing" them, but the Iranians are playing them for the fools they are.
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "How many members of Congress would want their personal or private e-mails made available to public? Like the Benghazi farce, the investigation of Hillary’s e-mails will take months and cost millions of tax dollars." -- Well, how many Congresspersons use their own home network server to conduct government business on the same e-mail accounts? I'm sure every member of Congress has a non-government e-mail account, but I'm pretty sure most government business e-mail is done on the government URL.

There's a movie opening this weekend called "GUNMAN". Trailers show the St(_*_)r as a "bad(_*_)" .. at 5'8" (in heels?), the (_*_) is way beyond his acting skills at being a "bad(_*_)".

One of the detriments of a SPLOST, whether for schools or transportation is that millions of dollars are drawn out of the local economy during the collecting process and are aren't seen back "helping" the economy for a year or more. Take today's story on some T-SPLOST projects mentioned that won't happen until 2019 after such money has been collected. Even worse is what has happened with the $30,000,000.00 the MCSD has collected and squirreled away for the past 10+ years to build an elitist Fine Arts Academy. That money could have been used to fund actual and current needs (Autism, Handicap, Foundation repair, Textbooks), and at the same time contribute to the local economy as circulating revenues. Instead. it has been stashed away in accounts that basically benefit the financial firm that holds it. It's sorta like the Biblical parable about the servant who buried his master's money while the other two invested it and showed gains.

Online story: " They say the only two things that are certain in life are death and taxes. President Barack Obama wants to add one more: voting. * Obama floated the idea of mandatory voting in the U.S. while speaking to a civic group in Cleveland on Wednesday" -- "mandatory voting"? What's next.. single candidate ballots? You know.. there are some countries that have mandatory voting.. some enforce it, others do not..what you won't hear from Obamageddon is that in major general elections, countries with "mandatory voting" get only about 10% more participation than the US.
---
Good grief.. how can Obamageddon be "for" mandatory voting, and "against" mandatory voter ID....and proof of citizenship....
---
James Madison penned our Constitution in 1787, and it was ratified in 1788.. Obamageddon cannot "ratify changes with his pen and phone.
---
BTW.. the closest country to the US with mandatory voting is Mexico (about 120M population), and more than 10% of Mexico's population has fled and illegally resides in the US.
---
Online quote source: " “Confidence... thrives on honesty, on honor, on the sacredness of obligations, on faithful protection and on unselfish performance. Without them it cannot live.” -- Hmmm.. then how can Democrats support Obamageddon and Hillewinsky?

In a nutshell, education is the pursuit of knowledge and truth. Education is supposed to be a learning experience.. and one that is a lifetime journey. Education is about questioning things you don't understand or simply just wanting to know more about something. The key to learning is asking questions..asking people of a certain belief why they believe such. The smartest people in my life believed there is no such thing as a "stupid" question, but there are "stupid" responses. Denying a student in class, or a parent at a MCSD/MCSB meeting an opportunity to question the status quo denies the truth from coming to light. Education is a process of enlightenment, not shutting up questions into a closet.
If you have a good idea...a good product.. you welcome questions..you should welcome the idea of bringing more people on board. Why does the MCSB/MCSD discourage.... even stifle questions?
---
Oh! I learned something last night.. remember during the period before the SPLOST election that I pointed out that the construction estimate of those wrestling buildings were being promoted at $312.00 a square foot... well I was think how intolerably overpriced that was for a cement block/slab building. Last night I learned that the buildings were going to be prefab metal ones which are way cheaper than cement block construction! ASK QUESTIONS and DEMAND ANSWERS and a FORENSIC AUDIT!
---
Excuse me, but why is a phone threat against Caroline Kennedy a "breaking news" item? She's in Japan, and I'm sure hourly flights home are plentiful.
---
One if the oldest adages is, The enemy if my enemy is my friend"...of course, said "friend" is not necessarily going to be you ally once a current situation has been resolved. Iran will never be America's friend.
---
You know ..with less than 17% of the registered voters in Muscogee County going to the polls on a tax issue makes one deduce that traditional newspaper & audio/video advertising no longer reaches the general audience in significant numbers or ways.
---
Had an interesting.. well, maybe more "disturbing" than interesting conversation this past Tuesday night at a fund raising event. A man who lives in Harris County (to avoid Columbus' higher property tax rates) has a number of commercial holdings in South Columbus. He says rising tax rates on his commercial properties are "killing him" and that the solution is to end the "tax freeze" on residential properties. He thought that would slow down commercial tax raises. Hate to say it, but he's been sipping too many Kool-Aid cocktails with Mayor TomLYINGson.. Lifting the "tax freeze" will not reduce property taxes on residential or commercial properties... not EVER! Lifting it in ANY way will only provide huge windfall tax revenues, and once the City government spends such a superfluous one time surge of revenues , the taste of more tax revenues every year will become insatiable, and without the tax freeze, it becomes more doable for the City to attain.
---
You know.. I have proposed a condition that I would at least listen to a plan to lift the freeze.. but it's not going to happen.. it would require work and due diligence on the tax assessor's and mayor's offices to keep property values current. My idea would be for Council to declare a two year moratorium on billing property tax revenues that would limit such to the total existing dollar amount being collected from the current tax digest at that time. Take my neighborhood for example: my neighbor bought his house the same time as the person I bought my house from. When I bought my house, the previous owner paid about the same taxes as his, but now, my neighbor. His taxes remained at about $3,000.00, and mine went instantly to over $5,000.00. Now, if the freeze is lifted under Mayor TomLYINGson's plan, my neighbor's taxes would soar to $5,000.00. Now, if a plan were installed that would limit taxes during the two-year moratorium that collected only the amount our two houses combined are paying (about $8,000), then we would both start out at $4,000.00. From there, reassessments could be made on a 2 or 3 year pattern (or on a sale price if either of us sold) and taxes levied on the actual values, whether market prices rise or fall, with the proviso that the sale of my neighbor's house at a higher value does not mean an automatic assessment increase on my property.

L-E headline: "Water Works customers to see one-month spike in bill" -- Two questions: Since Feb and March are two of the lowest water consumption usage months (most don't even use the minimum ).. how come the CWW "thinks" we all will owe an extra $30-$40 bucks? Second question is how does the CWW come up with 65,000 households, while the City Manager says garbage collection is conducted at 55,000 households? Wait ..one more question: Since water has 10,000 more customers than the garbage collections, does that mean those 10,000 are either not being charged for a garbage fee or does it mean that the CWW is charging a garbage fee on 10,000 residences that don't have garbage?
---
Oh! I learned something last night.. remember during the period before the SPLOST election that I pointed out that the construction estimate of those wrestling buildings were being promoted at $312.00 a square foot... well I was think how intolerably overpriced that was for a cement block/slab building. Curiosity question.. if the MCSD is going to retrofit three now empty classrooms for autism students, doesn't that mean the previously used classroom will now become empty? If not.. WHY

L-E story: "L-E story: "A Turman Realty Company house located in the 900 block of Brighton Road was reportedly stripped of $5,000 worth of copper pipe between Monday night and Tuesday afternoon, Columbus police said." -- RED FLAG! Excuse me, but houses in that area sell for $40-to-$50,000 dollars, and we're to believe a house (and possibly a rental house) there has $5,000.00 worth of copper pipe inside.. installed or just new "to be installed doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Bibi... a.k.a. Benjamin Netanyahu won.. though I use the term "we" loosely, "we" still have an ally in the Middle-East..at least the next Republican president has an ally he/she can depend on. How embarrassing for the Democratic Party element of our government. Once again.. will someone please explain why America's Jewish community bloc votes for Democrats?

---
After close to $250,000.00 being injected by the special election costs and the "Yes for US..uh..Kids" committee, a slim win with less than 17% of voters getting to the polls can only be considered a further embarrassment for the public conception of the MCSD. Special thanks to Frank Myers and John Thomas for shining the light of truth on the shadowy performance of the MCSD/MCSB over the past 10+ years.

---
You know, of the 8900 votes for the school SPLOST referendum, an inherent truth is that over half of those were from teachers/employees or families of. Why are such allowed to vote on issues that they have a personal benefit from the results.
---
The "yes" vote got 54% of less than 17% of the registered voters, at that. Add that more than half of the "yes" vote was probably current MCSD employees, family members or retired employees that probably shouldn't even be allowed to vote on an issue that directly affect their job security.

---
You know.. in effect.. by having the power of calling for a special election date on a tax issue, the MCSB has become it's own type of government... a quasi-dictatorship based on the whims of a few rather than following the democratic/limited republic process as laid out in our Constitution for general elections.

---

You know.. perhaps the saddest aspect of the local SPLOST election results is that 7 of the MCSB members and the L-E think that transparemcy and accountability issues are now "moot". Don't count on it.

---
All public, especially public school, buildings should have the construction cost per sq ft on the plaque with the names if the board/Council members names placed on the wall in the building, and how they voted on the project.
---
Oh... I was planning to buy my bride and myself new cars next year... now I think I will go ahead and buy them in June so I can save $800.00-$1,000.00 in MCSD SPLOST sales taxes. What a difference 1% makes.

---
Can you believe that the White House has not produced an answer as to whether Hillewinsky signed her required disclosure form as she stepped down from Secretary of State? What's it take.. Obamageddon using his phone to call and ask someone to walk to Hillewinsky's employment file, and fax a copy to him...even more realistically.. how hard could it be to get one from Hawaii?
---
You know... asking Obamageddon to produce such a file is like a farmer asking a fox to double check whether the henhouse door is locked.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "US vet charged in a disturbing plot to join ISIS * A 47-year-old New Jersey man was arrested Tuesday after officials found damning evidence of his support of the terrorist militant group." -- Sadly.. who can really blame him.. I'm sure the vet tried to get Obamageddon's attention about VA issues, but felt slighted compared to how Obamageddon coddles jihadist terrorists.
---
Online story: "MUD LAKE, Idaho (AP) - Some 2,000 migrating snow geese have died recently in eastern Idaho, likely from a disease that comes on quickly and can kill birds in midflight, wildlife officials say." -- You know.. the first thought this conjured up was that Thanksgiving promotion on WKRP when live turkeys were thrown out of a helicopter into a shopping center parking lot, and WKRP station manager Arthur Carlson (a.k.a. Gordon Jump) declared, "As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly" .

The NCAA is at it again.. how can two teams be scheduled to "play into" the NCAA Basketball brackets as the 11th seed in their bracket (actually there are two such pairings)?Hhow can teams be given 12th. 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th seeds yet two teams that could qualify as the 11th seed must play to get a spot?
---
Jonathan Gruber dangerously stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Legalize marijuana and sell it from government owned stores. Then you wouldn’t need a SPLOST, and could probably lower our taxes. Also reduce our crime rate at least 40%." -- Even "Yes" SPLOST voters may want to change their vote after seeing something sent in by an obviously public education product.
---
Almost gets it L-E "soundoff": "Pi to four decimal places is 3.1416. Anybody who didn’t sleep through geometry class knows that. So the “pi day of the century” is next year." -- Well, what did you expect from a mainstream media society that celebrated "the Millennium" on January 1, 2000 rather than January 1, 2001 which was the proper date to celebrate?
---
L-E's "Thought for Today: “It’s easy to be independent when you’ve got money. But to be independent when you haven’t got a thing — that’s the Lord’s test.” — Mahalia Jackson, American gospel singer (1911-1972). -- Hmmm, and the "Devil's Test" is when you feel that being on food stamps, housing allowances, given free phones, having subsidized healthcare, and a meaningless public education diploma makes you an "independent" and contributing member of society.
---
L-E headline: "Secret Service director faces Capitol Hill’s wrath after agents allegedly drove drunk
Director says he wasn’t informed until 5 days late" -- Hmmm.. guess he read about it in a memo from Josh Earnest explaining that HEBDObama had just read about it in the newspaper. Oh.. BTW, the Secret Service chief is Joseph Clancy.... maybe the CIA didn't know Tom had died..but then, again.. we aren't surprised at that.
---
L-E headline/story: "Lawmakers make big changes to Ga. transportation bill * The Senate plan also moves $250 million annually from the state’s general fund to pay off debt service owed by the Georgia Department of Transportation." -- "pay off debt service"? There's that phrase again.. in our SPLOST, $4,000,000.00 of the revenues will pay banks for "debt service" on issuing bonds to bring in early revenues. State and local government entities should not be allowed to sign up for "debt" that becomes a load on the backs of the taxpayers. Just look at Detroit with it's upwards of $18 BILLION in various debt that, even with bankruptcy rulings will hang over the heads of Detroit citizens. Government agencies should not be allowed to issue service orders without having the cash-in-hand.
