Online quote source: "“One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes... and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.” - Eleanore Roosevelt" -- Another iconic liberal who's quote will not be stomached well by Democrats in general nor, specifically, the MCSD/MCSB SPLOST proponents.

---
Online story: "House Republican leaders on Sunday demanded that Democrats begin negotiations on funding for the Homeland Security Department and President Barack Obama's unilateral actions on immigration. Democrats showed no indication they were willing to talk, and some Republicans said the party should simply surrender and give the agency money without conditions." -- "Democrats showed no indication that they were willing to talk"? Huh? Like they were even willing to talk with Republicans at all when Democrats had super-majorities in the House and Senate in Obamageddon's first two years, and like when Obamageddon wouldn't talk with Republicans when American voters woke up and kicked Democrats out of Congress.. Democrats just don't like to talk to Republicans..or, for that matter, the American voters who are actually working and funding the revenue for Democrat entitlement programs. Government isn't suffering from "gridlock"... government just suffers under Democratic Party "GREED-lock".

---
Online "headlie": "Netanyahu's US visit has leaders on the edge" -- "leaders on edge"? No.. the leaders of Congress are Republicans and they asked for Netanyahu to speak.. Democrats, on the other hand, just don't want to be exposed as anti-semantic to their Jewish voter bloc.

---
Online headline: "Kerry asks for benefit of the doubt on Iran nuclear talks" -- Good grief! How can there be ANY doubt why Iran wants nuclear weapon power! Besides, America's doubts about Kerry were overwhelming in 2004 when he ran for president (won but 17 or so states), and are higher today..

---
Good grief.. Kevin Garnett is accepting praise for his generosity because he's "donated" 1,000 tickets to the next Minnesota Timberwolves' game. How is donating what would be empty seats considered "generous"? Generous would be to walk up to a family in needs' home and pay off their heating bill for the season.

HuffPOOPOO story: "Adding to the chorus of protest over President Obama’s push for a controversial new trade pact with Asia, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) sounded off on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and accused mainstream media of not covering what could be one of the biggest trade agreements in history. * TPP would take jobs out of the U.S., increase income inequality, allow multinational corporations to sidestep U.S. regulations and reward countries with poor human rights records. Sanders likened TPP to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the poor-performing trade pact signed in 1994, which led to a loss of jobs and the deterioration of labor conditions in the U.S. and other partner nations." -- Wow! One of the nation's most vocal socialists is upset at mainstream media ignoring the biggest socialists trade pact that has more "IEDs" than NAFTA Guess the liberal "lovefest" is truly over..

The L-E should... but we know they won't... take a look at the costs associated with the "Security Department" in the MCSD.. There was one deadly incident involving one of the Security personnel driving a MCSD "Security" vehicle on St Mary's Road that we still don't know why the man was even out in that area using a MCSD "Security" vehicle at that time of day.. but with staff 182, the MCSD has a larger force than the Marshal's office, and it's not much smaller than the number (200 +/-) of deputies in our Sheriff's office (with another 130 or so jail Correctional officers). On top of this army of MCSD security personnel, there has been recent mega-bucks spent on more video security alarms at the schools..

---
One source said he knew that the MCSD hired a lot of off duty/pert time officers from the Shreiff's and CPD's offices, but had no idea that the MCSD has a paid Security Staff of 182.

Just for those who follow my comments.. I've reserved making comments about the Sunday fluff piece about the SPLOST bribes to get parents of local athletes on board .. Some of the potential disbursements are outright wastes and some appear to probably be either illegal or abuse of school funds. Am parsing the comments, and will visit the facilities before adding my views.
---
Just three comments for on the SPLOST athletic projects...
1 - "In fact, Lewis admits, some students attend school only to participate in athletics." -- You know.. that's probably.. and unfortunately true... BUT.. that does not mean the MCSD should cater to such interests. Education should be the foremost focus, and athletes should understand that the athletics part is a reward for doing the academic work.
2 - " Depending on the needs at each school, the upgrades to the baseball and softball fields could include fencing, press box, concessions stand, playing surface and lights, Stanfill said." -- In other words.. a figure has been written down without any regard to what's actually needed nor what it will consist of>
3 - It's rather obvious that the boys facilities will receive the lion's share. Doesn't Title 9 require equal dollar amounts for boys and girls facilities?

Former MCSD member and local attorney, Fife Whiteside, has addressed issue on the MCSB's opposition to dissent (and a couple of other worthwhile items) inform yourself -

Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Yellow is the appropriate color for the signs of those no voters who are obviously scared to death of progress." -- Good grief... yellow brings the problem to light.. what's cowardly is hiding issues behind a mantra of "for the kids".
---
Jonathan Gruber extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "SPLOSTs already contain extra layers of accountability. Georgia Legislature authorizes it. Georgia Department of Revenue collects and distributes it. Georgia Department of Audits oversees it. The recipient is accountable for every cent received and spent." -- There's a missing ingredient in this mix.. there's no oversight committee to verify that SPLOST projects fall into proper . All projects should be in compliance, and ongoing/catch-up maintenance is not allowed.
---
L-E's " Thought for Today": “Nothing ever really sets human nature free, but self-control.” — Phyllis Bottome, English writer (1884-1963)." -- Hmmm... yep.. a little.. OK, a lot of self-control would set the MCSD board/administration on a lot better foundation than they built Spencer on...

That assassination in Russia... there's a quick assumption that Putin MUST be behind it as Nemtsov was his opposition... but seeing how unlikely Nemtsov's party would win, Nemtsov's party has as much (or more) to benefit at Nemtsov's death. I'm holding out for more info..
