Onlline "headlie": "Scott Walker faces backlash for comparing union protesters to ISIS" -- Good grief.. Walker used his confrontations with self-serving union advocates, and the union hierarchy has recruited mainstream media to smear Walker because the unions have not been able to do so at the ballot box. Well, even though it's a smear tactic, what IS..IS.
---
Online headline: "Sharpton: We Must Make It A Federal Crime For White People To Shoot Black People, Including Self Defense" -- If there is a new law that is needed, it's one that makes it a felony for media to report anything Al Sharlatan regurgitates verbally.
---
from the "for what it's worth" department - Online story: "Of the eleven times in our entire history that the Espionage Act has been used against government workers sharing information with journalists, seven of them have been under this presidency. * President Obama has prosecuted government workers for talking to journalists more than all other presidents combined, according to CNN." -- Ties in with Obamageddon trying to saddle America with more National Debt than the rest of the presidents combined as well.

It can be said about Council at times, but forgetting who is your boss is a constant at the MCSD. Frank Myers and John Thomas are the exceptions, but the rest of the MCSD members seems to forget that they serve at our pleasure, not theirs of the Superintendent's. Public Education is just that.. public.. but the MCSD tries to avoid opening up so the taxpayers can see what is going on.
---
Ok, Dr Lewis.. if you want to hide behind some arbitrary restriction about listing the SPLOST project details and priorities, then open up about the 2009 SPLOST projects that were not accomplished/finished/BEGUN? How about listing the actual results since those are not being voted on this time.
---
A fellow BCer passed on a fact that sometimes gets lost in petty discussion.. "belief in God's existence is not a religion... it's a fact. Evidence is overwhelming. Disbelief is foolish. On the other hand, religious denominations are created around differences in understanding among men, all of whom are imperfect." -- I agree.
---
L-E headline: "'We can do better' is theme for MCSD's proposed SPLOST athletics projects" -- What the MCSD can do better is take care of the facilities it's blessed with. Hey, that's what the MCSB is suppose to be overseeing!
---
From above story: "Muscogee County School District Superintendent David Lewis shows images of a suburban Atlanta high school's football field and weight room to make a point during his public forums to explain his administration's request to renew a sales tax." -- "David Lewis shows images of a suburban Atlanta high school's football field and weight room"? Why isn't Dr Lewis showing us images of facilities he left behind in Pike County Florida? Lewis should show us what he did/accomplished!
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " We don’t need new buildings or technology. Let’s just bus the kids across town to where classrooms are available. On aging buses. To aging classrooms. Pack them in so we can lay off more teachers." -- Before the sarcasm set in, this guy was pretty much on track.. we don't need new buildings.. we need better management of our assets in usage and by maintenance. Somehow, moving teachers into already empty classrooms while shutting down unneeded facilities will not result in loss of teaching jobs.. It will, however, eliminate the need for so many administrative job positions...and qualify more MCSD students to get state funds for the whole system
---
Why is the L-E so gungho about supporting the SPLOST? Articles should be neutral.. fact based.. and balanced.. How about some real life recap of the 2009 SPLOST projects that were "on the list of projects" that have not been finished nor planned into the new SPLOST? Besides, the L-E is... uh, wasn't a real good neighbor while it let it's own building deteriorate/disintegrate before our very eyes.
---
Hey, L-E.. why hasn't there been a story about the MCSD administrative staff receiving almost 10% in raises in 2014, while teachers and support staff withered on the vine again?
