Online story: "Thirteen people, including a 3-year-old boy, were shot on Thursday night in a park on Chicago's South Side, the Chicago Tribune reported. * The shootings reportedly occurred at a basketball court in Cornell Square Park in the city's Back of the Yards neighborhood. * Chicago police are releasing very little information about the attack, except to say that it appeared to be gang-related. No details have been released about a suspect." -- So much for the Midnight Basketball programs... this isn't just gang war, it's become racial genocide on a par with Rwanda.

Online headline: "House Votes To Cut Food Stamps By $40 Billion" -- Hmmm that's over a 10 year period, but it still doesn't cover the $52 BILLION Judas 00-bama has added to the food stamp programs in his 4 years 8 months of check bouncing.

Online story: "While bar-goers may have their own ideas about how to get served first at a bar, German researchers have sought to answer the question once and for all. For a study published recently in the journal Frontiers In Psychology, a team from Bielefeld University discovered that body language makes all the difference. * The results revealed that bar staff responded to a set of two non-verbal signals," the authors wrote in the study, published in late August. "First, customers position themselves directly at the bar counter and, secondly, they look at a member of staff." * It seems customers must do both to receive prompt service." -- No wonder the Europeans call us "the ugly Americans". Their universities have adopted the use of taxpayer grants to waste even more money than they can think of ways doing it themselves. Me, if I wanted a drink 'first', I'd get there 'first'. It that didn't work, I'd get there 'earlier' next time.

Online story: "The malfunction of two evacuation slides after the Asiana Flight 214 crash in San Francisco in July added drama to the emergency. Now, NBC reports its investigation shows that the unreliability of inflatable slides has long been known by the U.S. government. * An investigation by NBC discovered that the National Transportation Safety Board has been raising concerns over evacuation slides' reliability with the Federal Aviation Administration for years. A study the board conducted in 2000 found that at least one evacuation slide did not properly function 37 percent of the time." -- Hmmm, and I'll bet some union boss will use this info to bargain for higher wages for evacuation slide labor because their average success ratio is is twice as good as an average Major League baseball player.

The Detroit Tigers are close to clinching the American League Central Division. Do you think any other teams really want to do to Detroit for regular, playoff or World Series games? How about network announcers?

---

The Dodgers did clinch the NL West last night beating the D-backs on the road. The D-backs had "requested" that if the Dodgers won the game, not to bring the celebration back on the field after going to the locker room. Isn't that like a 'double-dog dare' to a bunch of kids... well, the 'boys of summer' did not choke.. most of the team blew out of the locker room, raced to the outfield and jumped into the D-backs prized swimming pool. The 'boys" will be boys. Go Dodgers!

Online headline: "Postal Service Warns It May Need Emergency Rate Hike" -- I'll bet the PO will claim it was sent last week, and Congress will say it hasn't gotten here ...yet.

---

Online headline: "America’s 10 Richest States" -- Ooops, my bad. Thought they were talking about the states of Chaos, Graft, Turmoil, Bankruptcy et al.

A teacher has been outed communicating lewd messages with a 16 year old student. When confronted, he acknowledged his perversion. Two questions need to be addressed. He's on 'leave', but is he still getting paid? if so, why?

L-E story: "A man accused of urinating on merchandise in the Airport Thruway Circle K told a Columbus Recorders Court judge he was sleepwalking. * M(_*_)rtin B----, 18, claims he was asleep when he wandered into the 2536 Airport Thruway store about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and urinated on several sale items. An employee called police and detained Bruce until officers arrived. * Charged with disorderly conduct, Bruce said he did not remember the incident and pleaded not guilty." -- Will you ever walk into a Circle K store again and not look suspiciously at the frozen yellow-greenish slushy machine again?

From a fellow BCer - Texas has followed the idiot newspaper up in New York,
and released a map (below ) of the location of all gun owners. Their locations are marked by red dots below:

Online story: An AP history textbook has rewritten the Second Amendment. Here’s the Constitution’s wording:
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Here’s the AP history textbook’s reworking of the text:
Second Amendment: The people have a right to keep and bear arms in a state militia”
The revision interprets the Second Amendment in a way that concludes that the only way it’s constitutional to “keep and bear arms” is for a person to be part of a “state militia.” -- I do not know ... yet.... if this book is used in any of our local schools, but it is available. If your high school aged child or grandchild is taking Advanced Placement US History, take a gander. We MUST presume that this is in most college texts.

From the pics and videos that come following "Gay Pride" parades, there's no way a straight family could bring their children and show support by showing their children how gayness assimilates into normal life.

Benghazi..... It's been a year and mainstream media is still yawning...still yawning at the deaths of 4 Americans who were abandoned by the Secretary of State AND Judas 00-bama. Now we find there's an e-mail from Admiral Mullen referring to a "witness" that would not be good for the government's position. What's it going to take to get mainstream media to consider this important?
---
WTVM9 story: "Exiled Former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden, who remains in Russia after fleeing charges of espionage and theft in the U.S., has been nominated for a freedom award by European politicians. * Legislators in the European Parliament on Monday nominated Snowden, 30, for the 2013 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought." -- Guess Europe is going to bury Judas 00-bama' Nobel Peace Prize one way or another.
---
L-E story: "Here’s the truth about a government “shutdown.” The government doesn’t shut down. * So the world won’t end if a dysfunctional Washington can’t find a way to pass a funding bill before the new budget year begins on Oct. 1. * Social Security checks will still go out. Troops will remain at their posts. Doctors and hospitals will get their Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements. In fact, virtually every essential government agency, like the FBI, the Border Patrol and the Coast Guard, will remain open. Furloughed federal workers probably would get paid, eventually. Transportation Security Administration officers would continue to man airport checkpoints. " -- :the truth"? Excuse me, but has there been a "coup" at the L-E? Has the Tea Party assumed editorial control over L-E stories?
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday called on the U.N. Security Council to move swiftly to approve a U.S.-Russia deal to eliminate Syria’s chemical weapons, saying there is no time to argue with those who remain unconvinced that the Syrian regime carried out a chemical attack last month that killed hundreds. " -- Hmmm, wonder if he asked them "not to read it before they pass it"?
---
L-E story: "VATICAN CITY — The Catholic Church must not obsess about gay marriage, abortion and contraception and should not restrict its message to reprimanding people for their sins, Pope Francis said in an unprecedented interview Thursday." -- He's right... and Republicans need to listen to him regardless of their religious beliefs. There's nothing wrong in knowing those aspects of life are "wrong", but those people will have to deal with God directly for his mercy. As it is, a minority of people keep the Republicans off-focus of the big picture, and keep those in more need from slipping through the cracks.

In 1959, the student count in the Muscogee County School System reached 32,000. That's still the figure in today's MCSD system even though there's been about 80,000 more people added to the population since then. How many students' families have put them in private of home schools?
---
As I drove by one of the private schools in Columbus yesterday, the lack of any yellow school buses leapt out. I thought, while many, even most, of the kids there are paid for by their families, many are there on scholarship programs. Many have just basic family incomes, yet all the parents find a way to get their children to school. Why does the MCSD 'feel" that it has to be responsible for parental duties of transporting other people's children to school? Maybe it's because the MCSD board likes to spend other people's money wherever it can.

L-E story: "NAPA Auto Parts said Thursday it is dropping Michael Waltrip Racing at the end of the year in the fallout of the team’s attempt to manipulate a race to get Martin Truex Jr. into NASCAR’s version of the playoffs. " -- I'm proud of NAPA... no one would blame NAPA for the acts of the drivers, but NAPA made a great statement about its own business beliefs. ---
Quote source - Of all the words of mice and men, the saddest are, 'It might have been.' ― Kurt Vonnegut -- Vonnegut died in 2007, but don't you know he would have offered, and probably for free, the use of this quote to be written on Judas 00-bama's headstone....
