The floods in Colorado are at their worst.. where's Judas 00-bama and FEMA?

---

Online headline/story: "John McCain fires back at Putin * The senator penned an audacious op-ed in which he slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin for perpetuating bigotry, siding with 'tyrannies' and endorsing the Syrian regime. * Says Russians deserve better" -- Why didn't he say this about Judas 00-bama when he ran in 2008? Now it's a matter of America deserves better.

Economic recovery, better yet economic SUCCESS, is a two edged sword that must be sharpened on both sides at the same time. The government must not only provide incentives for business to be efficient, it must also provide incentives for the public to be confident. Amazingly, government only has to do one thing... make efficient use of lower taxes and not grow faster than the actual need.

Online story: " In his new book, The Message, MSNBC.com editor Richard Wolffe describes how the Obama White House grew frustrated in 2011 with The New York Times after some negative editorials ran in the paper. President Barack Obama ended up calling Andy Rosenthal, the paper’s editorial page editor, and a couple weeks later Rosenthal and the Times editorial board went to the White House for an off-the-record meeting with the president. * But that wasn’t the last time Obama met with Times editorial board members. On Aug. 29, the president again sat down for an off-the-record discussion with Rosenthal and some members of the editorial board, according to sources familiar with the meeting." -- What has happened to journalism? It has a specific Amendment in our Constitution to protect itself from government control, and now the NY Times surrenders that independence voluntarily? No news organization should agree to be the tool of government. Reminds me of Tass and Pravda before "the fall".

Even former Judas 00-bama appointee Leon Panetta calls his former boss stupid for drawing a line in the sand and not backing his word up.

---

Online story: "A Tennessee woman will be allowed to name her 8-month-old son "Messiah," a judge ruled Wednesday, overturning an order from another judge who said the boy's name should be changed to Martin because "`Messiah' is a title that is held only by Jesus Christ." -- What was Judge 1 thinking.... this is America. Besides about how many babies have been named after other presidents, and the Lord knows Judas 00-bama wants us to feel he IS the Messiah.

In a Columbus L-E story, an elementary school book for 5th graders has come under scrutiny for the use of the "N-word" (I presume the "er" version). This is a period book set in the 1850s. Pretty petty when you consider that the 11th grade "exemplar text" featured under the "Common Core" curriculum is "The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison in which child abusers/pedophiles/rapists are humanized in sympathetic ways... I have filed an official complaint, but the MCSD has not gotten back with me on its action.

---

Now that Judas 00-bama has erased his "red line", does that mean he's not going to try to remove ASSwad from power?

---

Judas 00-bama is always saying there oughta be a new gun control law even though there are 100s already on the books that criminals disobey. What we really need is a law, with felony implication, that prohibits a president or Congressperson from intentionally telling a lie about domestic matters. (I'd give'em some slack on discussing foreign affairs, but this president already demonstrates a propensity to tell the world what he's feeling too readily as it is). Judas 00-bama plays checkers while the rest of the world plays chess.

WTVM9 story: "The driver involved in the July 30th car accident that lead to the death of Cpl. Keith Slay and the hospitalization of his partner Dep. Brad Evans is facing misdemeanor charges, confirms Mayor Theresa Tomlinson. * The driver of the car that allegedly caused Slay to swerve off the road and collide into a utility pole is Alex Komendantov, 74, is expected to turn himself into the police soon. * On July 30th, Slay and his partner were on their way to a meth drug bust near Flat Rock Rd. when they crashed on Veterans Pkwy. According to the police report, Slay and his partner were speeding in the turning lane when Komendantov tried to merge into their lane. Slay swerved out of the way to avoid the car, and crashed into the pole." -- I'm confused. No matter what, the death of any of our safety officer performing their duties is always tragic, sad, but this set of facts is different from earlier ones. Originally, the word was that the police vehicle was answering a back-up call for a traffic infraction out Veterans. My bride and I saw the truck turn right from Whittlesey and speed out Veterans with lights but no siren. Now this story says he was answering a different kind of call on Flat Rock Road. If that's true, why had he not turned around on Whittlesey and gone the reverse way, or turned on the J.R. Allen Parkway which he would have passed on his way to where the accident occurred. Help?

L-E story: "A man in his 30s was taken to The Medical Center today after jumping into the Chattahoochee River from the Dillingham Street Bridge. * It is unknown why the man jumped from the bridge just before 1 p.m. “We didn’t actually get him out of the water,” Shores said. “We found him over on the banks.” -- Now that we know the guy is alive.. safe, I want to know if he was ticketed for such AND for not having a "personal floatation device" (PFD) as required by law and to which much attention was given this past Spring...

You know, scheduling family movie events on "the Green" on a huge outdoor screen is pretty neat, but shouldn't a "family" movie, rather than "GATSBY"?

---

WTVM9 story: "SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah came in at No. 6 in Travel + Leisure's America's Strangest People survey. * Ranking higher than New York, Seattle and even Los Angeles in an offbeat category of the magazine's annual Americas Favorite Cities survey, readers rank 35 metropolitan areas for features such as live music, food trucks and the character of their residents." -- How come Mayor Obamalinson is silent on this? Columbus has made the lists of top crime laden cities and being among the poorest, and who doesn't know of some strange Columbusites (The MCSD board should qualify Columbus on its own so combined with the Mayor & Council and L-E staff, this shoulda been a 'lock')?

---

Online story: "SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A multibillion dollar case between two giant pharmaceutical companies grappling over arcane antitrust issues has unexpectedly turned into a gay rights legal imbroglio that raises questions over whether lawyers can bounce potential jurors solely based on their sexual orientation. * The case before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco on Wednesday centers on whether Abbott Laboratories broke antitrust laws when it increased the price of its popular and vital AIDS drug Norvir by 400% in 2007." -- "can bounce potential jurors solely based on their sexual orientation"? Hey, it's San Francisco... Abbott should have requested and been given a change of venue, but more importantly, if a "potential juror" were obviously demonstrating his/her "dis-orientation" in a public manner during bias questioning, then that should be more than enough to strike a juror on any case.

---

Online headline: "Ex-Guantanamo detainee dies fighting Assad in Syria" -- For the rebels... and this is who Judas 00-bama wants to give American arms/weapons?

---

L-E headline: "National Cheeseburger Day 2013 is Sept. 18: Top 5 best burger restaurants we need in Columbus" -- The L-E writer should be slapped onto a grill, flipped over, then tossed into the dumpster for being of "poor taste" for such writings. Not one local hamburger emporium was given credit for being anything other than what she couldn't but from othe franchises that haven't picked Columbus as a place they could compete in. I hope the restaurants that serve hamburgers that are already here start a L-E advertising boycott.. there are plenty of other options that would gladly do business with them.

You know, I think I've figured out why there are so many kids at school diagnosed as "ADHD" after following my granddaughter around and seeing how her attention to things changes depending on what attracts her attention at the time. I also remember my Little League coaching days.. 4th-6th graders had between 30 & 60 minutes of attention span doing something they really liked. Diagnosing so many kids as "ADHD" really is a cover for not cultivating an atmosphere of excitement for students to learn in.

They are BORED!

Online story: "A Tennessee high school has decided to revise its field trip policy after a group of freshmen were taken to an Islamic mosque where they were given copies of the Koran and while a student who opted out of the trip was given a worksheet that alleged Muslims treated their conquered people better than the United States treated minorities. * The students were in an honors world studies class at Hendersonville High School and the field trips to the mosque as well as a Hindu temple were part of a three-week course on world religions. * some parents objected to the trips and wondered why the school would tour a mosque but not a Christian church or a Jewish synagogue." -- What can I say other than it's time we get our legislature to repeal the 1992 law requiring school board members be elected. We need an appointed board...again... that is not playing politics in order to get re-elected.
---

L-E headline: "Teacher accused of sending explicit texts to student " -- How.. in today's environment, can a teacher or politician think.. uh, "feel" this kind of behavior is not going to blow up in his face? How come the MCSD system doesn't have better filtering for teachers? I say this because the earlier version included a comment that then teacher had admitted to this.

---

L-E headline: "Sheriff John Darr was found guilty of gender discrimination in his promotion practices, but the women who filed the lawsuit were awarded no damages. One juror called it A COMPROMISE VERDICT " -- Excuse me, but how does a judge accept this "verdict".. it drags names down, but absolves no one of guilt by a truly "no decision". I guess this is the liberals way of bring Little League games where no one keeps score so no one wins/loses (yet in reality, EVERYONE loses) into the court room.

---

Very low-info voter's L-E "soundoff": "Minimum wage does not cover visits to the optometrist/dentist, mechanics, or property taxes. Do not take a pay raise for 10 years, cost of living keeps rising, maybe you will see." -- You know, if this lib has been working for 10 years on minimum wage with no raises, then he/she should get down on his/her knees and thank her employer for being a good hearted person who kept him/her employed thinking no one else would offer him/her a job.

---

From the "you've got to be kidding me" department - L-E story: " The Detroit Zoo will be home to the largest center in the U.S. dedicated to penguins, thanks to the most substantial private donation in its 85-year history, the zoo announced Wednesday. * Construction on the $21 million facility will begin “in earnest” in March and is expected to open in late 2015, said Ron Kagan, the zoo’s executive director and CEO." -- Non-Muslim people have gotten "the flock" out of Detroit, so now the Detroit Zoo is bringing in a flock of penguins. Well, they'll probably use less welfare tax dollars than bringing people back.

---

L-E's "Quotable": “People ask the difference between a leader and a boss. The leader leads, and the boss drives.” -Theodore Roosevelt 26th U.S. president 1858-1919" -- Wonder what Teddy Roosevelt would come up with to describe what it is that Judas 00-bama is doing?
