A Texas Congressman has apologized to the National Parks Service for
berating a Park Ranger who was attempting to keep WWII veterans out of the WWII
Memorial site. He says he regrets this conversation:
"How do you look at them and ... deny them access?" said
Neugebauer. He, with most House Republicans, had voted early Sunday morning to
pass a funding measure that would delay the Affordable Care Act, a vote that set
up a showdown with the Senate and President Barack Obama. With the parties
unable to agree on how to fund the federal government, non-essential government
functions shut down Tuesday. "It's difficult," responded the Park Service
employee. * Well, it should be difficult," replied the
congressman, who was carrying a small American flag in his breast pocket. * It
is difficult," responded the Park Service employee. "I'm sorry, sir." * The Park
Service should be ashamed of themselves," the congressman said. * I'm not
ashamed," replied the ranger." -- The Congressman is WRONG! This may be
considered one of those, "I wish I hadn't, but I'm glad I did" moimemts, but the
on apology should have been made by Judas 00-bama.

With that red, shiny, puffy looking red trim on the necklines, the UGA was
in contention for the 'ugly uniform award this week. That fabric looked like it
was taken from old Michael Jackson "Thriller" jackets. Then I saw the Missouri
uniforms and UGA was off the hook, but...then I saw the Oregon Ducks
breast-cancer-awareness tribute uniforms. The Susan G Komen foundation may
decide to change colors in the future.

Online story: "Hillary Rodham
Clinton has joined Democrat Terry McAuliffe on the campaign trail, telling
Virginia voters the nation is looking for a return to "common sense and common
ground." * Clinton formally
endorsed her family friend's bid for Virginia governor, marking her first public
campaign event since departing the State Department in February." --
Republican Ken Cuccinelli should ask McAuliffe if he
endorses Hillary's lack of action and compassion in the Benghazi assault.

Online story: "Kentucky authorities say they have
cited U.S. Sen. Rand Paul's 20-year-old son on alcohol possession by a minor at
a Kentucky racetrack. * Kentucky Department of
Alcoholic Beverage Control spokesman Dick Brown says agents cited William Hilton
Paul on Friday during a "targeted enforcement detail" at Keeneland in Lexington.
* Paul is a full-time student at the University
of Kentucky" -- Hmmmm, just an ordinary college student caught drinking at an
outdoor cocktail party... and the Kentucky Department of Alcohol Beverage
Control is taking the lead in announcing this incident? Me thinks there's more
politics involved than anything else.

Online story: "ATLANTA
(AP) — The state that was the
first to pass a law prohibiting the execution of mentally disabled death row
inmates is revisiting a requirement for defendants to prove the disability
beyond a reasonable doubt * Georgia's law is the strictest in the U.S. even though the
state was also the first, in 1988, to pass a law prohibiting the execution of
mentally disabled death row inmates *
Thursday's meeting comes against the backdrop
of the case of Warren Lee Hill, who was sentenced to die for the 1990 beating
death of fellow inmate Joseph Handspike, who was bludgeoned with a nail-studded
board as he slept. At the time, Hill was already serving a life sentence for the
1986 slaying of his girlfriend, Myra Wright, who was shot 11 times. *
Hill's lawyers have long
maintained he is mentally disabled and therefore shouldn't be executed. The
state has consistently argued that his lawyers have failed to prove his mental
disability beyond a reasonable doubt." -- You know, if someone who shot his
girlfriend 11 times was give access to, or the ability to procure or assemble a
nail-studded board, the the weong person is being evaluated for mental
disability.

No matter what you think about UGA's current
struggles, no one can deny Mark Richt's success at recruiting quarterbacks. At
this moment, there are 3 starting SEC QBs that at one time were all wearing the
Bulldog colors at the same time.
---
I like the starting Vandy QB. He got
injured late in the first half, but even with crutches, was on the sideline with
his helmet on, ready to play if his team needed him.
---After several misplays in yesterdays
game, UGA's Swan is looking more like an UGA-ly
duckling.
---
Rule 9-1-4 is a disaster! Ray Drew just got
ejected for dumping Vandy's QB with a hand chuck to the chest. Why don't they
just put "wet paint - do not touch" signs on the QBs?
---
That 9-1-4 rule to protect the QBs is going to
be the death of college football. Soon, QBs will learn to slightly lower their
helmets into a rushing lineman's tackle and get the whole defensive team ejected
before half time.
---
Another 9-1-4 "targeting" call! This time, the
charge was overruled, but the 15 yards was still marked off. How stupid can a
rule be that the pe\nalty is still assessed after it's been ruled there was no
foul?
---
Is it ironic or simply moronic that Judas
00-bama would buy the ObamaCare software from Canada since Canada is his role
model?
---
Online headline: "Shock Stat: 15 of Last 18 Government Shutdowns
Came Under The Democratic Party's Watch" -- How quick, well, intentionally, does
mainstream media forget the facts?
---
Before anymore operating bills are passed by Congress, a new
rule should be made and enforced. Since Congresspeople are passing bills without
(or before) reading them, every item, every clause, every paragraph should be
footnoted for who actually submitted and/or penned such. If there are any such
items in a bill that aren't marked as such, they should be automatically
stricken from the bill before it can become a law.
---
You know, the Obamarat concept of welfare is constructed on the
premise of making people 'more comfortable' living in perpetual poverty. A
true... a good... welfare program should want to help people get out of this
revolving door trap.
---
Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story.... If you have Netflix,
watch it!
---
This item is a purely local one: It sounds like local
Obamarat-supporting attorney Frank Myer has been mesmerized by Mike Myer's
alter-ego, Dr Evil, and wants to hold the MCSD board members' re-elections in
limbo if they don't pay his ransom demands.

Low info, brain-washed voter's L-E "soundoff":
" I am an
African-American woman born in 1951. I’m not surprised at the tea party’s
action. The young people who hated me when I was growing up are adults now, and
the hate goes on. -- Hmm, I hated the white lines on buses growing up
because when you put a fence up, neither side can get to the other side. While
it hasn't been as speedy as it could be, society has been dismantling those
fences, but too many black leaders are just as busy building new ones in their
places.
---L-E story: "The city has embarked on an aggressive program
to reduce the city’s feral cat population, not by capturing and killing them,
but by trapping and neutering them, then returning them to their habitat,
special enforcement manager Drale Short says. -- Hmm, now, does
this include the annual recapture and dispensing of rabies shots, or is the City
setting us up for lawsuits when one of these feral cats attacks/bites some
child who is thinking they
are "nice
kitties"?
---
Our leftist liberal L-E main editorialist
has taken up political folly of both parties today.. yes, Dusty Nix has made
some good satirical points about extreme aspects of the Democratic and
Republican lightweight wings. He could have made this a great editorial if he'd
gone after the tax-exempt status of MoveOn.com, but he didn't, so ho-hum, what's
new?
---
When is the L-E going to publish that
local leftist columnist Karl Douglass worked/works for leftist Congressman
Sanford Bishop? He chasitised John Boehner for not allowing a vote on the
shutdown to be voted on earlier, rather than when he did, but what Douglass
fails to comment on is that Boehner held the bill at bay until he got the
"income verification" clause put back into ObamaCare which will help prevent
most of the fraud that would have been unchecked if such requirement
was arbitrarily
taken out.
---
L-E commentary headline: "Dr. Ben Carson
sinks to a new low point" - I do not have to get past the headline of a Leonard
Pitts commentary to know where he stands.... he stands in the way of progress.
Dr. Carson should be a hero for all, but especially black students, on how one
removes obstacles from the past to keep tripping yourself over them in the
future. Pitts will always stumble on these same obstacles Dr. Carson overcame,
because Pitts doesn't look
forward.
---
L-E story: " TRENTON, N.J. — Activists are still working to line up judges who could waive the
three-day waiting period for same-sex couples who want to exchange vows first
thing Monday, when gay marriage will become legal in New Jersey." -- "waive the
three day waiting period"? That's a law, and any judge who intentionally breaks
that law should be disbarred from practicing law and sitting in judgement of any
other law!
---
I'm not
usually an Auburn fan, but relished the victory it had over Texas A&M last
night. I am for every SEC team playing against A&M and Missouri until those
newcomers earn there place at the
table.
