If government workers haven't received wage increases for the time period we are being told, why does Judas 00-bama need more money to run the government?
---
We lost a good guy, a good friend, an advocate for good government , and a fellow BCer yesterday. Brother Rosenberg... we all will miss his drive and passion and friendship.
---
Online story: "A Grand Rapids school cafeteria worker was canned this week after she hired two fourth-graders to pummel a classmate. * The woman, who wasn’t identified by the local television station WoodTV, admitted to giving two fourth-grade students a total of $1 to ruff up a classmate who offended her. The woman, who has no criminal history, worked for West Michigan Janitorial Service, a contractor for the school district." -- First, WoodTV should be chastised for not blasting her name AND picture for the world to see and remember her. Secondly, the Grand Rapids, MI school board should do the same.
---L-E story: " DECATUR, Ga. — A man who was recorded encouraging his 12-yearold daughter to fight a 14-year-old girl in a video that was uploaded to YouTube has been sentenced to 24 months in jail. -- Seems appropriate for the school worker in the above item as well.
---
Online story: "British police have arrested a 10-year-old boy in the killing of an elderly man who died of head injuries. *West Yorkshire police said Monday the boy was arrested in the death of a 79-year-old retired man. * Children of 10 and over can be held responsible for criminal offenses in England" -- England has gotten one thing right... don't give thugs until 18 to get away from consequences.
---From "the truth always rises" department" - Online story: " You hear a perfect record cited over and over in the debt limit debate: The United States has never defaulted. Better put an asterisk by that. * Once, the young nation had a dramatic excuse: The Treasury was empty, the White House and Capitol were charred ruins, even the troops fighting the War of 1812 weren't getting paid. * A second time, in 1979, was a back-office glitch that ended up costing taxpayers billions of dollars. The Treasury Department blamed the mishap on a crush of paperwork partly caused by lawmakers who — this will sound familiar — bickered too long before raising the nation's debt limit. -- Judas 00-bama lies again....Hmmm 1979... Carter was President and BOTH the Senate and the House were majority Democrats... Hmmm, in today's history rewrites, I'll bet the Republicans and Bush43 were to blame.
---
Online story: "We hope by the time kids are teens, they've learned to do what is right. A high school in Massachusetts is more interested in district policy than good intentions after a student tried to help her friend in need. * Two weeks ago Erin Cox, a senior (and honor student) at Andover High School, received a call from a friend who was too drunk to drive home from a house party. Just as Erin arrived at the house to pick up her friend so, too, did the cops. While Erin was questioned by police, she was released without charge. Several other students at the party were arrested for being minors in possession. * School officials, however, argued her presence at the party broke their zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs and alcohol. Erin was stripped of her 'captain' title on the volleyball team and suspended for five games * The Cox family had no luck challenging the school's decision in court. A petition of support has been started by her friends at school in an effort to have the punishments overturned" -- If there is a zero-tolerance policy that needs to be upheld, it's one the voters should exercise to remove the 'zeroes" on the school board at next election.
---
From the "suspicions conformed" department - HuffPost headline story: "White House Garden Takes A Hit As Shutdown Keeps Staff Out * In the famous White House kitchen garden, tomatoes are rotting on the vine. Herbs have gone to seed. And the sweet potatoes - a favorite of President Barack Obama - have become worm food" -- Hmmm, just as we suspected, no one in the White House actually knows what the difference is between an essential & non-essential job, and Judas 00-bama doesn't even know how to handle a 'ho'.
---
When figuring out "who to blame" for today's current political turmoil, two names jump out: Ross Perot and Newt Gingrich. Perot, because he got Clinton elected with only a plurality of voters, and Newt for getting Clinton re-elected then abandoning ship. Newt's "Contract with America" was needed and good, but it also got Clinton re-elected because the voters were happy, then Newt left the House leaving the Republican without a true conservative leader, and the majority Republicans started acting like wasteful Democrats and disappointed the true Republican base.
---
Online headline: " Bishop Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst Sent To Rome To Curb Lavish Spending" -- Oooops, my bad... thought the Pope had been on a spending spree, but it was actually a bishop being called onto the red carpet.
---
Hmmm... half-black or half-white... take your pick, but either way, Judas 00-bama is a half-ass president.
---
WTVM9 headline: "New Study: Teen gun-related deaths becoming an epidemic" -- It's taken a "new study" to determine this? I figured this out long ago just listening and reading news stories on TV and in the newspapers.
---
Two Chicagoans share this years Nobel Prize in Economics with a Yale professor. Wouldn't you know, Judas 00-bama selected Chicagoans Bill Ayers, Arne Duncan, and Rahm Emanuel for his advisors instead.
---
McClatchy headline: "An al Qaeda leader indicted 15 years ago for the bombings of U.S. embassies in Africa is being held in a federal prison in New York after a week of presumed interrogation on a Navy ship in the Mediterranean. -- Hmmm, guess Judas 00-bama will probably appoint him under-Secretary of State to Kerry for the Mid-East.
---
Pure and simple, if Republicans are being "blamed" in the mainstream media polls, it's because the mainstream media is not asking the questions fairly.
---
McClatchy "headlie": "Nonpartisan group launches TV ads to urge a fiscal deal" -- Hmm, I guess it depends on how you define non-partisan.
---
On the subject discussion concerning the use of "Redskins", one lib brought up that the Washington Nationals didn't entertain a 'slur' word for their nickname. Maybe so, but the Nationals were once the Washington Senators.. and after watching the Senate in action, it would have been a horrible slur to label hard working professionals as "Senators".
---
Bob Costas.... If there's one area where commentators should not be liberals, it's sports. No one should be able to use his bully pulpit from the announcers box at a football game... actually any team, any sports field for that matter. He called "Redskins" a slur.. If there is any slur, it's Bob Costas calling himself an announcer.

L-E story: "Ms. (District 3 representative Athavia “A.J.”) Senior’s daughter has no teaching experience and does not hold a certificate to teach, yet all of the sudden there seemed to be a place for her to teach language arts at Fort Middle School. … Go figure,” Myers said. * Senior countered that her daughter has always excelled in her endeavors and didn’t need her mother’s help to get Fort Principal Sonja Coaxum’s recommendation she be hired on a provisional basis, without a teaching certificate. District administrators maintain hiring teachers who haven’t yet obtained a certificate is not unusual, particularly if the position to be filled is a “critical need.” -- You know, after the budget crunches and teacher furloughs experienced by those with degrees, all those with degrees should be fed up with Board decisions like this, and for filling a "critical need" job with a non-degreed employee. Believe me, just listening to today's teens communication skills demonstrates that "language arts" is indeed a critical job.
---
L-E story: "The Muscogee County School District has fired the Northside High School teacher charged with attempted sexual assault of a student. * The English language arts teacher, Tucker Hearn, was listed as terminated on the district’s personnel report, which the Muscogee County School Board officially received during Monday’s work session." -- Hmm, language arts again; wonder if Board member Senior has another child to fill this "critical" job? It also brings up whether proper screenings are being taken when "critical" jobs are being filled.
---
Super low info voter's L-E "soundoff": " When 90 percent of Americans want affordable health care and sensible gun control, but can’t get legislation passed because of the House minority, it’s time to get a new House." -- I look for humor in things, but when things like this are dished out intentionally, I have a hard time retaining my composure while typing. You have to wonder what 'they" are teaching in our schools, and broadcasting on CNN/Matthew's Sh*tNBC to a new high in unbelievability as the House has been a mojority of Republicans since the 2006 elections. As for the "90 percent" figure, you can see what pulling a number out of thin air gets you.
---

L-E story: " Mark Cantrell of District 6 is CEO of Action Buildings, so he knows storage facilities as well as anyone. He insisted the estimated cost “sounds like a very high price” for a building district construction director Bobby Hecht figured would be 15-20 feet by about 60 feet." -- I usually applaud at Mark Cantrell's perceptiveness, BUT... but $80,000.00 will be a pittance in constructing a storage building that will be theft proof in that neighborhood. Once again, I submit, the school board doesn't build those types of buildings at any school, and schools with them have benefited from parents of students contributing.. then again, the school board too often looks at itself as the parents of its students.
---
Why is it that teachers, school boards, and even the media think "federal or state grants" are "free money"? The government takes that out of our pockets, wastes too much on administering these 'grants', then sends a pittance back while accepting 'thank yous' from other government employees. "Grants" take money out of the classroom, not inject into it.
---
Joe C...... Joe C. Meriweather died unexpectedly Sunday. Not everyone remembers him, but he was a terrific basketball player, and a humble man... a hard combination to achieve, but it describes him.
---
L-E story: "Nearly 58 million Social Security recipients are still getting monthly benefits during the partial government shutdown. But they will have to wait to find out the size of next year’s cost-of-living adjustment. * Social Security was scheduled to announce the annual raise Oct. 16. That’s the same day the Labor Department was scheduled to release inflation statistics for September. The Labor Department, however, said Wednesday it will not issue the inflation report because of the shutdown. No new release date was set. -- Hmmm, Judas 00-bama already knows the numbers but just doesn't want to announce them ahead of the current negotiations to raise his spending limits. What you can count on will be a negligible amount of increase, and it all gets down to why Judas 00-bama needs more money to spend when neither SS recipients nor government workers are getting increases.
---
Ooops, after a recent leveling off of the Foreclosure Section of the L-E, it's back up to 12 pages. Yes, Virginia, yes, Georgia, there is a Judas 00-bama and a Harry Reid.

If Columbus loses the annual Morehouse-Tuskegee football game because of
extortion, then we haven't lost anything. Let Calvin Smyre pick up the slack with a
Synovus Foundation donation if he so chooses, but the City should not "invest" tax
dollars for a private function. Plus, if Phenix City so decides to fall prey to such,
Columbus will still benefit, and heaven knows when Phenix City has made much of an
addition to the area economy.

Those 'celebrity' diet ads... Do Nutra-systems, Jenny Craig, et al believe their
celebrity spokespersons will actually invite A-list friends over to share a meal.
