Online headline/story: "CLINTON, GINGRICH BATTLE LED TO LONGEST SHUTDOWN" * When the strong-willed pols faced off about two decades ago over Medicare and other issues, the government halted twice, and one shutdown lasted 21 days. * During the longest government shutdown, from Dec. 16, 1995, to Jan.6, 1996, similar procedure allowed almost all employees of the Social Security Administration to continue working (and get paid), because Social Security "is a permanent program" that does not require annual appropriations from Congress to operate, said Van de Water." -- Hey, mainstream media and other libs: Did the US wither and die on the vine? No, in fact it prospered greatly during the years following. It was the Obamarat tandem of Frank&Dodd that brought us down.

If there was ever an opportunity for Judas 00-bama to give his approval ratings a boost, it was yesterday. He could have made himself look like the guy he described himself as in the 2008 election.... The Great Healer, the One who could bring the parties together. There is not a thing he can lose in delaying the rest of ObamaCare for 12 months.
---
The Republican Party thinks trying yo relate to Judas 00-bama is going to win them respect. BS! The way to earn respect when a bully starts ranting is to stand up, and if necessary, punch him in the nose. Even if the bully strikes back, and you get a black eye, it becomes a badge of honor, the bully's not likely to do that again.
---
What happened to Judas 00-bama's claim that it you liked your healthcare and doctors, you could keep them? As it stands, unless you are a government or union worker with a special interest waiver, it ain't gonna happen.
---
What's going on with Mayor Obamalinson's high speed ScamTrack study. I find it hard to believe she hasn't already exhausted the first $300,000.00 of our tax dollars.
---
Yesterday, I mentioned about being taxed on the shipping charged for an internet purchase. I'm even madder after thinking about it knowing rafters buying trips down the Chattahoochee are not being charged sales taxes on this purchase.
---
The Obamarat game theory is to scare an illiterate mainstream media into believing a "default" is on the brink. Total "bs", but it gives lazy journalists an easy headline and story to turn in.
---
Since internet sales are now being taxed, will internet sales of insurance exchange be charging sales taxes?
---
Though it's not clear whether it's an unintended or expected consequence, but it's quite apparent that ObamaCare will send more manufacturing jobs overseas.
---

6.... I got 6 e-mail pleas for donations yesterday (plus 1 already this AM) from www.Barack Obama/organizingforaction.com . That's what I call groveling or begging. Sad thing is no matter how blunt I am about not supporting Judas 00-bama, they feel badgering me about it. Welcome to ObamaCare.
---
You know, when you get down to the nuts and bolts of the issue, the House is doing its best to represent what Americans said they wanted last November, while the Obamarats are representing their own personal political agenda.
---
You know, the more cars on the road that can make a decision to brake by themselves, the more drivers are going to be scalded by hot coffee they just got at a drive-thru where other customers walk in front of cars trying to leave.
---
For a man who can give an arousing speech speech on what's wrong with America ad he sees it, Judad 00-bamahas two left feet that match his set of two left sides of his mouth when talking without a TelePrompter.
---
You know, if you exclude ObamaPhone users from polls, there'd be a truer picture about what the taxpaying American voters think
---
Hasn't Judas 00-bama even read ObamaCare? His whole scheme is built on young people buying health insurance, yet still maintains that most of those young people can stay on their parents insurance. This just doesn't work.
---
Now there are floods in Texas, and Judas 00-bama is again a "no show". 00- bama doesn't handle floods well, whether it's a Mid-west or Western snow melt or Texas rain storm. I guess it's because he's learned nothing from handling Reid & Pelosi's constant flood of "bs".
---
Why is it that mainstream media feels it's "obligated" to take sides in politics? Shouldn't the mainstream media look at what is best for all Americans, and encourage all parties to listen to the people?
---
Since mainstream media is protected by "freedom of the press", wouldn't it be fair if American taxpayers should be protected by "freedom from mainstream media"?

Online headline/story: "Shots Fired During Robbery Of TV Reporter Jeff Bush In San Francisco * KRON4 reported on its website that reporter Jeff Bush handed over his equipment after he and the station's security guard were accosted by two armed men. Bush then took cover and the security guard opened fired on the two men. Bush and the security guard were unharmed." -- An unidentified spokesperson claimed Pelosi, Feinstein, and Boxer were claiming, "Bush did it".
---
The latest word from CNN & NBC is that they won't be running Hillary mini-series. Seem, they say, no Hillary connected people will interview with them. Personally, we all "know" that it's because her wide-screen hips won't fit on big screen TVs.

Online story: "Recent college students are defaulting on federal loans at the highest rate in nearly two decades, reflecting "crisis" levels of student debt and a lackluster economy that leaves graduates with bleak employment prospects. One in 10 recent borrowers defaulted on their federal student loans within the first two years, the highest default rate since 1995 * “The growing number of students who have defaulted on their federal student loans is troubling,” Education Secretary Arne Duncan said. Duncan said the department will work to “ensure that student debt is affordable.” -- The economy is not the blame..... colleges offer degrees for entry point job markets, and more dangerously, student loans are easily obtainable. Students quickly find out that those jobs are already filled by workers who started straight into those fields as entry workers and have become trained by on-the-job training, and now have 2 - 4 years experience and no student loan debt, which makes them more desirable.

Online story: "WASHINGTON -- The Senate has adopted a bill to pay members of the military in case the government shuts down. * The unanimous voice vote Monday sends the legislation to the White House for President Barack Obama's signature. * Now, if the government really does shut down, members of the armed forces will receive their paychecks on time but civilian workers won't." -- Hmmm, looks like there my be one little fly in the ointment here... it's the civilian workers who figure out and distribute the soldiers pay.
---
Online story: "TEHRAN, Iran — Iran's president is asking aviation authorities to study the possibility of resuming direct flights between Iran and the United States for the first time in more than three decades. * More than 1 million Iranian-Americans live in California and elsewhere" -- Hmmm, direct flight from Iran into America... hiow convenient, suicide bombers won't have to go through TSA in Boston or NY, and they won't have to fly to Mexico and hoof it in over the border.
---
Online headline: "UC Berkeley Explosion Knocks Out Power, Causes Multiple Injuries On Campus" -- OK, be honest, did your first thoughts wonder where Bill Ayers was yesterday, too?
---
Meanwhile upriver, West Point has landed another manufacturing plum.. Hyundai Dymos. What did Columbus get... another bridge opening for jumpers to use.

While I admire Senator McKoon's idealism, what law firm would bill hours at $165.00? Most firms would have to do all the work required by the messes the MCSD creates in half the time the current lawyers work. Personally, I wish he'd work on getting the laws changed back so we can appoint a school board that doesn't have district favoritism. Then he could start on changing the bidding agenda for school construction. The MCSD Board creates plenty to keep Josh busy.

L-E editorial comment on Sheriff's Department budget: "One licensed practical nurse averaged — averaged — 32 hours of overtime a week, more than doubling her base salary and giving her an income higher than the mayor’s salary." -- Well, did you not notice that the nurse did a better job than Mayor Obamalinson?
---
L-E story: "MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A federal judge on Monday approved a settlement to end the segregation of HIV-positive inmates in Alabama prisons, but it will be months before the practice concludes. * U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson issued a 37-page opinion saying the blueprint to end the policy isn’t perfect but should be allowed to take effect. * The settlement was the result of a previous decision by Thompson. He had ruled that the practice of making HIV-positive prisoners live apart from other inmates discriminated against prisoners infected with the virus that causes AIDS and lacked a medical basis." -- You know, while I have no animosity towards the judge, justice would be for the judge to get caught doing something illegal, and sentenced to such a jail.
---
The L-E is pathetic... CSU is hosting its AFLAC/Cougar Invitational Golf Tournament yesterday and today. Yesterday, 17 other colleges were guests of our town, but the L-E sees fit to give this stellar showcase for Columbus a little more than a cursory mention. In fact, crimes where one person allegedly knife-weilding robbed another of a cellphone , and another person allegedly hit another peron in the head with a metal (allegedly?) chair got more newsprint space than this event. Don't you know the coaches, players, and their families and friends took note of the L-E snub.
---
L-E headline: " Airlines promise a return to civility, for a fee" -- Good grief! This is a two-sided, backhand slap-in-the-face. It's moronic AND oxymoronic at the same time.

Today is October 1, 2013. Today is the day I switch my Schick Hydro 5 razor cartridge. Today's will be number 4 for the year. # months on a cartridge is pretty cheap.
