Online story: "A coalition of tea party truck drivers is planning a government shutdown demonstration on the Capital Beltway that rings Washington. * "Truckers Ride For The Constitution" -- known as "Truckers To Shutdown America" before their original Facebook page was shut down -- plans to clog the Interstate 495 inner loop from Oct. 11 to Oct. 13. * The truckers said they hope create enough of a backup on the highway to express their frustration with the "lawlessness" of members of Congress "who refuse to work on behalf of the American people." * Earl Conlon, a trucker from Georgia identified House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) as two of his targets." -- Hmmm, "Truckers to Shutdown America"...TSA...the irony of this is great.. Our government shutdown airports with the TSA, and now a people's TSA is going to shutdown the government for a bit.

Online story: "A new NFL policy reportedly prohibits all law enforcement personnel from carrying their firearms into all NFL stadiums. * Police in Cleveland, Ohio said they received an internal member on September 11 from the NFL that said all off-duty federal, state and local members of law enforcement would not be allowed entry into NFL facilities if they attempt to bring their gun with them" -- Hmmm, sure is a nice tidbit to know if you are a psycho with a gun looking for a safe place to get your 15 minutes of "fame".
Online story: " Just as the federal agency that oversees mine safety has had to furlough most of its workers, three U.S. miners have been killed on the job over three consecutive days * three accidents occurred Friday, Saturday and Sunday, taking the lives of men from West Virginia, Illinois and Wyoming, respectively. The Mine Safety and Health Administration issued an alert Monday urging mining companies to follow the law. * There's no indication that the shutdown prevented inspections at any of the mines. In fact, a Labor Department spokesperson told HuffPost that investigators had been in two of the three mines just prior to the accidents" -- Huh? "there's no indication that the shutdown prevented inspections", yet the "shutdown" is responsible? Oh, there are lacks of responsibility here... the Judas OO-bama spinmeisters and the mainstream media for reporting it this way.

HuffPost "headlie" and story": "GOP Governor Blocks Out Legal Residents In Controversial Veto * Gov. Jerry Brown has vetoed a bill that would have allowed non-citizens who are legal residents to serve as jurors in California. * "Jury service, like voting, is quintessentially a prerogative and responsibility of citizenship," Brown said in an announcement Monday accompanying his veto of AB1401. "This bill would permit lawful permanent residents who are not citizens to serve on a jury. I don't think that's right." -- "GOP governor"? When I was 12, a friend of mine, in anger, called me a "Coca Cola truck". That doesn't sound 'too awful' in itself, but his dad worked for Pepsi, and had cursed at every Coca Cola truck he saw while driving, so his son calling me a "Coca Cola truck" was significant to my friend. I guess, by calling him a "GOP Governor", the mainstream media, in anger, just called Jerry Brown a "Coca Cola truck".

Online headline/story: " Arizona To Trim Voting If Citizenship Proof Lacking" * Arizona officials will seek to ban residents from voting in statewide races if they can't prove citizenship — a move that critics called vindictive in light of a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that said the state couldn't require such documentation to cast ballots for federal offices. -- Guess the mainstream media is after any one who thinks American influence in laws and politics are reserved for actually citizens. Too bad the proponents are actually Republicans who are not offended by the mainstream slur of "GOP".
---Online story: "A Washington D.C. bride was heartbroken Friday when her plan to marry her fiancé at City Hall was cancelled due to the government shutdown. * The couple had planned a small, intimate City Hall ceremony before departing on a trip to Paris. But due to the shutdown, the government has furloughed all "non-essential" federal employees -- including those who perform wedding ceremonies. * "We scheduled our courthouse marriage for today, and just yesterday realized that the DC wedding bureau is running on a skeleton crew due to furloughs and has no one available to perform marriages," the bride told The Huffington Post. The bride said she was hurt by the implication that their marriage was "non-essential." --"the bride..was hurt by implication that their marriage was "non-essential"? Huh? The Obamarats have been broadcasting that for years? DOMA has been stripped, and her fiance was male..what did she expect in OO-bamaville?

Online headline question: "Could a pill reduce alcohol cravings? -- DOH! Of course it can if it has a little ipecac in it.

Boehner should call Obama's hand. Demand he state what he will negotiate on. If not ObamaCare, how about entitlement cuts to pay for ObamaCare tax credits?
---
Why aren't the overgrown properties at Hilton & Macon Rd and Double Churches & Fortson Rds under City rules to be cut and trimmed? Maybe The Ledger Inquirer should look into these major road eyesores...

How about an update, especially from the MCSD, on the amount of revnues being actually received by the current SPLOST tax? The amounts received by the City's original LOST and the MCSD SPLOST should be the same (the second City LOST exempted this tax on car and hotels), but the results of the MCSD revenues is critical to our taxpayers. The MCSD has overbooked projects based on overly speculative expectations to begin with, but the first three years were even worse that anyone projected.

I just received an e-mail inviting me to the Smithsonian website. I thought the Smithsonian was one of the Judas OO-bama shutdown "victims".. OO-bama has locked out veterans, but still caters to the museum crowd... unless it's a military one.

McClatchy story: "An Eastern Kentucky lawyer has earned $22.7 million in attorney's fees from the Social Security Administration since 2001, in part through a lucrative "scheme" to defraud the agency's disability benefits programs, a U.S. Senate committee said in a report released Monday. * The committee met Monday to hear from Conn and others, including two women who said they tried to blow the whistle on preferential treatment that Conn received from Judge David Daugherty at the Social Security Administration's regional Office of Disability Adjudication and Review in Huntington, W.Va * It was "a mass collusion between a judge and an attorney," testified Sarah Carver, a case technician at the agency's Huntington office * "I respectfully assert my constitutional right to not testify here today, sir," Conn said. * Also subpoenaed to appear, Daugherty was a no-show. * From 2005 to 2011, Daugherty approved the disability appeals that Conn requested in 3,143 cases and never denied one of his appeals, compared to a 60 percent approval rate for disability appeals nationwide. Conn was paid a portion of the monetary award given to each of his clients. Daugherty's career and income were boosted as he gained a reputation as one of his agency's fastest judges. * Daugherty and Conn's law office communicated about upcoming cases, and when Conn's clients randomly were assigned to other judges, Daugherty used his computer to reassign them to himself, Senate investigators wrote in their report. Daugherty sped Conn's cases to approval, sometimes not even holding the required hearing. Colleagues knew what the judge was doing but did not stop him, as evidenced by interviews and internal emails." -- This is outright tax dollar theft. The Social Security paid to retirees is money deducted from wages of individuals (and matched by their employers). It's been uncovered on Judas OO-bama's "watch". What's the DOJ going to do... sue some state instead for wanting to do right by voter IDs?

L-E headline: "MUSCOGEE CO. SCHOOL DISTRICT * District warns of dangerous ‘Knockout Challenge’ * Students play game by getting dizzy, passing out" -- Brilliant.. the MCSD told and the L-E printed how this is done/accomplished. Now all the students who can read will know how to try this themselves. Is there no common sense filter in the MCSD or L-E organizations?

There are 23 names being considered for two local Superior Court Judgeships to be named by the Governor. One as a retirement peplacement and on e for a new court setup. Let's hope Governor Deal ignores out going Judge Allen's comments and appoints the best people he can for such vital positions in the legal system.. it doesn't matter what their gender or race as long as the Governor thinks they are the best. Regardless of whether he appoints men, women, blacks or whites, each new judge needs the affirmation that they were selected on their character and abilities versus their race or gender.
---L-E story: " More than 1,600 black American high school seniors who have been designated semifinalists in the 50th annual National Achievement Scholarship Program were announced by National Merit Scholarship Corporation officials. These scholastically talented young men and women now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 800 Achievement Scholarship awards worth about $2.5 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a National Achievement Scholarship, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level. About 80 percent of semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and more than half of the finalists will win an Achievement Scholarship award. * Semifinalists from our area are: Madison Allen, Valley High School, Valley, Ala.; Justin T. Smith, Auburn High School, Auburn, Ala.; and from Columbus High School, Amber Edmond, Madison Johnson, Tiffany Jones and Kyla Wright-Marshall." -- Excuse me, but why is this a story about black students alone? It looks like the L-E, as well as the National Merit Scholarship Corporation has entered into a segregational battle saying blacks need a special category. How dare they ( the L-E AND NMSC) do this to these young scholars. Let them feel they have earned this against ALL competition, not just a category of the whole.

L-E story: "WOBURN, Mass. — A Massachusetts court has issued an arrest warrant for state charges against the surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect" --Slow do the wheels of justice turn when justice needs to be in the fast lane, especially on this one.
---
L-E story: "There has long been a culture war between cyclists and motorists. * In Georgia, that war is now in the General Assembly thanks to three north Georgia lawmakers who want to force all Georgians who own bicycles to register them with the state" -- It's about time... registering bicycles will be a great step forward in providing better bicycle lanes and security. Bicycles have long been considered vehicles, legally on a par with automobiles, yet shielded from the responsibilities of car owners. Having bicycles registered puts recovery of such from thefts in a new light. Hopefully, registration will require some sort of basic test for owners to show they know the laws about riding their vehicles in the roadway versus sidewalks.
