"We" didn't 'lose' everything in the fight. Getting the income verification
aspect put back in ObamaCare is significant as the only way for that to exist is
for people be required to produce their tax forms , and that differs from any
other entitlement requirement.

Why were Republican's concerned over shutting down the government or
'defaulting,? The Democrats did such to Carter and we did not sink. Besides,
it's just one more comparison "nail" to raise Carter a notch above Judas 00-bama
as the worst president ever.
---
Online story: "Democratic New York Rep. Charlie Rangel
compared Republicans to members of the Confederate Army during an appearance Tuesday on
CNN.
Rangel said that Republicans who
“want to bring down our government” are using tactics during the government
shutdown similar to the tactics they used when “they fought as confederates.” --
Excuse me while I regroup... my ribs are hurting from laughing so hard. Accusing
the Confederate soldiers to have been Republicans is almost as ridiculous as
Rangel proclaiming he's a Christian.

Online story: "The National Security Agency has
been extensively involved in the U.S. government's targeted killing program,
collaborating closely with the CIA in the use of drone strikes against
terrorists abroad, The Washington Post reported after a review of documents
provided by former NSA systems analyst Edward Snowden. * In one instance, an email sent by the
wife of an Osama bin Laden associate contained clues as to her husband's whereabouts and led to a CIA drone strike that killed him
in Pakistan in October 2012" -- Secretly, we really don't have a problem with
spying on terrorist anyway we can, but when it's done in a way that every aspect
of our lives is invaded, and private info is just hanging in air to be plucked
out by government/political whim or vengeance or personal persecution, we do and
have a right to be more than
concerned.

What a cheap shot... Harry Reid "thanked"
the Republican leader of the Senate without mentioning his name. That's really
great relationship
building....NOT!
---
From the "now we know why, and we
shoulda figured" department - Online story: "Senate Minority Leader
Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) struck a deal on Wednesday with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)
averting a potential debt default and
reopening the government * Section 123 of the Senate bill secures $2.918 billion
in funding for the Olmsted Lock and Dam Authority for a dam project on the Ohio River being developed by URS
Corp., a construction management company.
That's a huge boost from the $775 million originally
allotted. * Sen. Lamar
Alexander (R) of Tennessee -- another state benefitting from the
project -- said the provision was necessary to preserve
$160 million in contracts. * Reid said there's nothing shady about the "so-called anomaly" tucked into
the bill. * This is not an earmark," Reid told reporters.
"It saves the taxpayers lots of money." -- "nothing shady"; "not an
earmark"? Let's see, instead of "forfeiting" $160 million in previously
authorized contracts, "we'' are going to spend a nearly $3 BILLION more dollars?
"We" need one more bill passed... one that requires all political donations
made by every government (actual or potential) contractor, for the 5 years
prior to any contract disbursement, made to political persons, PACs, or 501 (c)
3, 4, or 5 organizations to be publicly exposed before a bill is
introduced.

Now that the shutdown is over, I guess we can expect Michelle
to get back to weeding her garden. Who knew she was on the
payroll?

Online headline/story: "Facebook Is Now Letting Teens Share Posts
Publicly * The No.1 online social network said that teenagers
would now be able to manually alter the setting
and share information with the public. -- Well, well.. won't parents be
pleased.. NOT, but this just adds another negative dimension to the bill passed
in California that makes online companies allow "teens" (or anybody that opens
an account as a "teen") to post, then remove such postings in its entirety at
will. Now, terrorist cells can openly communicate via social media... make a
post at a designated time, then delete it before 'others' have a chance to
discover what has been passed along to other terrorist cells in other
states.
---
Hmmm, on the other hand, maybe ALL terrorists will congregate
in California... and ALL their bomb material go off at the same time, and
California would succumb to the long awaited San Andreas fault
earthquake.

Online headline/story: " Mulan Is Bisexual On 'Once
Upon A Time,' Disney-ABC Show * The hit Disney-ABC series "Once Upon A Time"
functions under the premise that classic icons from various fairy tales have
been transported to a "real world" town and have lost
all memories of their former lives due to a powerful curse. *
On this past Sunday's episode, Mulan quietly revealed her unrequited love for "Sleeping
Beauty" princess Aurora in a
heartbreaking scene that can be viewed above. During the show's previous season,
Mulan also developed feelings for
Prince Phillip. * The episode comes on the heels of a recent GLAAD study that shows the decline in
depictions of LGBT characters on television over
the past year." -- Well, Walt is rolling over in his grave, and Mulan is leaving
our inventory for a move to the local trash dump. Also, the Disney Channel will
be deleted from the acknowledged cable channels on our TVs and our granddaughter
will not be allowed to watch Disney-anything when she's older. Oh! And Hannah
Montana/Molly Cyrus who?
---
Katy Perry....she makes parents shudder at the thought their
daughters think she's how they should act, and their sons think all girls should
be that way. You know, my family went to a concert where she sang once right
here in Columbus. Then she was one of the opening acts for Christian singer,
Columbus' own Bebo Norman. What happened?
---
Most of our financial problems would cease if one thing were
shutdown until January of 2017..... the U.S. Mint. There's too much money
floating around and Judas 00-bama needs to learn how to stay within that
money.
---
Carlton Gary...the Columbus Strangler.. Is he dead yet.? Why
not?
---
From a fellow BCer: Breaking News rumor! The Redskins have
dropped Washington from their name because it's
embarrassing.
---
What first time signups for ObamaCare will find is that the 'deductible" is
actually an extension of your costs each year you use your ObamaCare insurance.
If you pay $5,000.00 in "premiums, and have a $10,000.00 deductible, and your
hospital charges are $30,000.00... your insurance company really won't pay a
dime toward your bill. The hospital will deduct 50% when it files your insurance
bringing the total down to $15K. You pay the first $10K, and the insurance
company already has your $5K in premiums to pay the remainder. Next year, it
starts all over again.
---
Online headline:"Obama Will Push Immigration After Fiscal Crisis Is
Resolved" -- Huh? This is supposed to get the Republicans off their
butts? Got news for you, the Republicans are only sitting on the Obamarat
(jack)asses.
---
You know, Columbus Regional changing its name after the 'whistle-blower'
suit was filed changes nothing. To begin with it's obvious that this was a quick
decision. We know this because the signs for Columbus Regional still light up on
the side of the hospital. If "I" were changing the name of my business, I'd have
a new sign already in place and ready to 'light up' when the announcement was
made public.

From L-E's "Today in History" feature: " In 1711, Jupiter Hammon,
the first black poet to have his work published in America, was born on Long
Island, N.Y., into a lifetime of slavery." -- Hmmm, "lifetime of slavery"... in
Long Island, NY... hmmm, Hey Senator Shumer...you too, Congressman
Rangel... stop being so sanctimonious when talking about Southern
history.
---
United Way is running an ad
that states that 'your gift....gives all students the tools to succeed
academically and graduate from high school"... Huh? To begin with, that's the
school systems job and mission, and it hasn't been that successful when you look
at the graduation records and college preparedness (by the number of high
school students who go on to college taking remedial course). Where does this
claim by the United Way fit in and justify this statement?
---
Striving to eliminate
poverty is a great project... but... fruitless.... By the time you think you
have achieved such, government waste has caused the bar to be moved
higher.
---
There's a rehashing of why
Elisabeth Hasselbeck left "The View" to join Fox. There is only one answer...
she ruffled the feathers of the other hens by reminding them of the truth about
matters they were discussing.
---L-E story: "General Motors is adding a twist to the fight for supremacy in the
red-hot U.S. pickup truck market: It’s raising prices * Raising prices sounds like an odd way to boost sales. But industry
analysts suspect it’s a marketing ploy. They expect GM to raise incentives
starting next month so dealers can advertise big discounts. Customers will feel
they’re getting a deal — whether they do or not depends on the size of the
discount" -- "Customers will feel they’re getting a deal — whether they do or
not"? I guess Government Motors is taking a play out of ObamaCare... pulling rug
out from under our feet. I guess this program will become known as either
"Clunkers For Cash" or
"ObamaCAR".
