HuffPost headline: "White House hints at way around least popular part of ObamaCare" -- Is this an oxymoron or what? Ask 100 people what is the "least popular part", and you'd get 100 different answers. To me the most popular change would be "-----Care".
---
Story from above: "The health care reform law, known as the Affordable Care Act, may provide President Barack Obama's administration with a way to shield people from the law's individual mandate tax penalties, White House press secretary Jay Carney hinted Monday. * The law is clear that if you do not have access to affordable health insurance then you will not be asked to pay a penalty," Carney told reporters after Obama addressed the ongoing technological difficulties hampering enrollment into insurance viaHealthCare.gov." -- "the law is clear"? The only thing "clear" is that implementation will be worse than the rollout.
---
Online story: "The Common Core, adopted by 46 states, is supposed to help American students gain skills that translate into success after graduation" -- "translate into success AFTER graduation"? Isn't the problem in public schools just getting students TO graduate? How will SOCIAL promotions translate into success for anything but keeping more teachers employed?
---
From the online "joke of the day" department - HuffPost headline: "Kathleen Sebelius: Obamacare 'Isn't A Website, It's About Health Care And Affordable Plans' -- Guess Sebelius's personal computer has crashed.
---
Online story: "Apple's new operating system, "OS X Mavericks", doesn't just offer a spiffed up Web browser and extended battery life. It may also help protect you from the National Security Agency." -- It will also wean most of us off of Microsoft as well!
---
Excuse me but we need to contact our Congresspeople, and demand that a certain aspect from a recent California law be made available to all of us. California has a new law requiring Internet applications/social networks to allow teens to "erase" things they post, particularly pictures of them doing stupid teen tricks etc., so that those 'stupid teen tricks' aren't floating around the I-net in perpetuity. It should not be that difficult for Google, et al, to give users an easily accessible option to "erase/delete" browsing history periodically. It may make Google, et al, rewrite how they accumulate info to 'sell' to advertisers, but every user, not just California teens should be able to have a more private life if they desire.
---
HuffPost story: "Human Rights Watch alleged that 82 people, at least 57 of them civilians, were killed by the unmanned aircraft and other aerial strikes in Yemen between September 2012 and June 2013 and called such strikes unlawful or indiscriminate." -- You know, if you hang out with certain people, there is no innocence on your part (missionaries excluded). If "people" accept, just allow, terrorist to blend in with them, assimate into their lives, consequences happen.
---
Online story: "Texas high school coach Tim Buchanan benched his starters after only 21 plays, kept to a conservative ground game and even allowed the clock to run uninterrupted after halftime to hasten the final whistle. Still, his Bearcats won 91-0. * Now the coach is facing formal accusations of bullying. * The impressive victory for undefeated Aledo High School, a football powerhouse in suburban Fort Worth that has put up similar numbers against other schools, has forced an investigation after a parent from the opposing team filed a bullying complaint. The complaint, which must be investigated under state law, says Buchanan should have done more to prevent the lopsided score." -- "must be investigated under state law"? -- A parent has filed a "bullying" complaint against another school because its football team beat his son's team 91-0? If there is a lawsuit to be filed, it is one to strip this parent of parental rights as he has ruin his son's self-esteem, and his future reputation. His picture will forever pop up when people Google "wimp" or "wussie".

The other day, it was announced that Government Motors is padding the MSRP on it's trucks so dealers can look like they are giving you a better price than you actually are getting. What's really going on is that the prices on leases will be boosted to an inflated end-of-lease settlement price, which will make ending a lease difficult, if not near impossible for most folks.

I guess it's nice it its own way to have a "dog park" (even though it's not very convenient for most Columbusites) for people to take their dogs to train. Hmmm, maybe we need to build a "politicians park", at convenient Columbus Square, so we can train our Councilors not to waste money on frivolous things.

A couple of weeks ago, Mayor Obamalinson tried to convince me that the figures she used to discuss City employee/retirees were irrelevant for my comments, but she's back using them again just as I evaluated then. Wonder what she'll say this week. Truth is, my evaluation was spot on. * FOP President Randy Robertson, a Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office major, said public safety employees, as well as general government workers, are tired of city leaders balancing the budget on their backs. * He cited city pension problems two years ago and health insurance issues last year. * In both cases, employees ended up with more money coming out of their paychecks, he said. * Robertson said the money could be found in what he called a “bloated” city government that is “full of programs, services, people and practices that do not serve the citizens with the required duties of government." I rest my case about what I said two weeks ago, and confirm the above item.

Between the NSA, IRS, WikiLeaks, and Ed Snowden, you'd think Judas 00-bama and Jay Carney would have known they could have "compromised" with the Republicans on delaying the ObamaCare rollout and look better for doing so.
---
Jon Stewart, Oprah, and MSNBC are blasting ObamaCare. Chicken Little is right!
---
The latest from www.barackobama/organizingforaction.com : "Hal --You're probably hearing a lot about Obamacare's website glitches, especially from health reform's opponents." -- Dang... I guess Judas 00-bama is declaring Jon Stewart, Op[rah, and MSNBC as opponents....
---
Though speculated that Judas 00-bama's ultimate goal is to turn ObamaCare into a single-payer program, I'm starting to give that more traction. ObamaCare was presented as his legacy legislation, but if this was true, wouldn't Judas 00-bama have taken care to put the best web/database designers working on it so the rollout would be a smooth... effortless... a most pleasant experience?

Judge John Allen.. a proven good choice as local Superior Court judge has really disappointed me with his bully pulpit commentaries following his announced retirement. We don't need, nor want, a new judge to be sworn in with a cloud of controversy as to whether he/she was appointed as the best candidates or by affirmative action, and for a judge to even suggest a citizen, whether it's Dr. Ben Carson or President Obama, to muffle their opinions amidst the world of too much political correctness is just wrong.

A much dodged figure was used in a L-E story on a hiring scandal within the board structure of a MCSD board member. We have about 2600 teachers for 32,000 +/- students. In 1990, we had 32,000 students, but they were handled by only 2000 teachers. Why do we need 30% more teachers today versus 1990 for the same amount of students?

Low info racist voter's L-E "soundoff": "I saved $150 by not going to see Dr. Ben Carson, the Republicans’ new poster boy. I can hear the same thing on Fox News." -- And "we" knew this "soundoffer" is an Obamarat, a racist, and ignorant, and "we" knew this before he opened his mouth, and before Dusty Nix chose it to publish.
---
L-E story: " The U.S. and Europe are putting intense pressure on the main Syrian opposition group to attend a long-delayed peace conference aimed at ending Syria’s civil war, even though agreeing to join the talks could irreparably split the already-fragmented opposition in exile." -- Brilliant....NOT! And who is 'the main Syrian opposition group"... this week? What do the other opposition groups think about being considered minutia? Who's gonna smooth their feathers? Times like this is when "shock and awe" is the best diplomacy.
---L-E story: "Twice this year alone, Air Force officers entrusted with the launch keys to nuclear-tipped missiles have been caught leaving open a blast door that is intended to help prevent a terrorist or other intruder from entering their underground command post * The blast doors are never to be left open if one of the crew members inside is asleep — as was the case in both these instances" -- Hmmm, I think I'm more concerned that we have military personnel "asleep at the switch". Looks like Judas 00-bama has been firing Generals when he should have been firing the 'switch operators'...
---L-E story: " The federal government is going into uncharted waters, deep-sixing the giant paper nautical charts that it has been printing for mariners for more than 150 years * The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Tuesday that to save money, the government will stop turning out the traditional brownish, heavy paper charts after mid-April * Nowadays, most people instead use the on-demand maps printed by private shops, which are more up-to-date and accurate." -- "more up-to-date and accurate"? Hmmm, perhaps that was the reason government charts were not in demand but it was still printing them out....
---
L-E story: "Here’s more fallout from the government’s partial shutdown: Early tax filers will have to wait an extra week or two to get tax refunds next year." -- Hmmm.."fallout"? How about an 'excuse'? Why are we paying back wages for something Judas 00-bama could have averted by delaying ObamaCare rollout 1 year. Now we are getting the delay anyway because of the 00-bama teams ineptness, and having to people for work they weren't doing anyway.
---
Hmmm, maybe the mainstream media should just refer to the "ObamaCare Exchange" as the "ObamaCare Excuse".
---
Just thinking... Mayor Obamalinson feigns concern over "food trucks" being operated by local concerns "first", but she didn't care about going out-of-town to get whitewater operators when there was a local business with experience already open on Broadway. Bend over, Country's Barbeque et al!
---
L-E story: "A construction crew has been working on and off for the last two weeks to clear wooden debris from an old dam and reshape one of the eight rapids on the Chattahoochee River whitewater course * Bishop did not have a cost for the ongoing project and did not rule out future work on the course, though he said none has been scheduled" -- Whoa! If Bishop doesn't have an idea about what the cost is, it's because UPTown nor the Whitewater Express ain't paying for it. It's amazing how lack of responsibility and accountability ends concern over how much things cost. We've already used upthe expected revenes the City projects collecting from Whitewater Express for the next 48 years, so it needs to be a "concern" of Council before anymore dollars are paid out or committed.
---
L-E story: "Routine police questioning turned violent Sunday, ending in one injury and one arrest, according to Columbus Recorder’s Court testimony * Todd Bolden was in court Tuesday facing charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime, two counts of obstruction, transacting in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and giving false information to police * (Bail was) set $10,000 for each count of possession, $5,000 for each count of obstruction, $5,000 for transacting in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and $500 for giving false information" -- Why is someone who obviously has no respect for the law, and no remorse for what he was doing, being given an opportunity to get back on the street before a trial? He won't be able to get a real job, so what makes the court system think he'll play by the rules until his trial date? It's not the lack of gun laws that are the problem.
---
L-E story: " A tentative 2014 football schedule for Morehouse College has its annual showdown with rival Tuskegee University set to be played in Atlanta on its own campus, but school athletic director Andre Pattillo cautioned not to draw any conclusions * It’s a tentative schedule,” Pattillo stressed on Tuesday " -- "tentative"? Then why is this even a story... This is actually an attempt at "soft blackmail" to get the City to put 'bribe money" on the table to a private organization. Council should just go ahead and market that weekend to another user. Our high schools could surely benefit from have this venue open to them again.
