Spending time in the mountains brought in a bit of reality. We may be the last generation that enjoys the isolation of a remote place to live and vacation. Limited cellphone/data access was not pleasant for me, but the next two generations seemed really distraught at the inconvenience of instant social contact with their everyday lives.

Have you ever been floored? I'm talking about jaw-to-the-floor type being floored? One of my Nieces'-in-lse'd family floored me this week. She's one of 10 siblings in her family, and 5 of her brothers and two of her sisters braved the distance and weather to attend the funeral of their sister's husband's father. That my friends is a close family we should model our lives about.
