Happy New Year to all... please pray for our country and Barbara
Bush.

Online headline: " Aaron Rodgers: 'I'm Not Gay. I Really, Really Like Women' * You know, Aaron Rodgers, GB Packers' quarterback for those athletically challenged, will probably get eaten alive by the PFLAG, LGBT watchdogs, but in this day and time, when you hold hands in a huddle, pop 300 + pound men on their rears, crouch behind another man without people knowing what your hands are doing, and having a business card that reads, "Aaron Rodgers, GB QB", sometimes you just have to "come out" and defend yourself.

---
Hmmm, after watching the replay of a certain GB vs 'da Bears' touchdown on
Sunday, you can see why someone might have thought Rodgers was gay... sometimes
he throws like Judas 00-bama.

Online story: "Bill de Blasio has been sworn in as the 109th mayor of New York City. * He is the first Democrat to occupy City Hall in more than two decades and vows to pursue a sweeping liberal agenda for the nation's largest city." -- Hmmm, calling Michael Bloomberg's 12 year stay in office anything but a liberalfest would be a misnomer. Then again, New York is the home of such leftist Schumer, Gillibrand, Charlie Rangel, the Clintons, and, of course, the New York Times, so Bloomberg, a man who restricted not only what you could eat, but also kept you from buying snacks, would seem like a conservative.

---
Case in point - Online story: "Bill de Blasio, mayor-elect of New York,
said he will press smartphone makers to create "kill switches" that would make
phones unusable after they're stolen." -- OK, and what do parents do when their
toddler grabs the phone unexpectedly, and starts pushing all the buttons, and
hitgs the "kill switch"? Even more likely is some middle-school bullies will
grab such phones, initiate the kill switch, then give it back inoperable.
Liberals think they know how to address crime situations that will will work,
even though they have absolutely no proof any of their previous attempts at
accomplishing such have ever been successful.

Online story: "A federal judge has upheld most of New York's new gun control law, rejecting arguments that its bans on large-capacity magazines and the sale of some semi-automatic rifles violate Second Amendment rights. * Judge William Skretny in Buffalo says those provisions are constitutional because they're related to achieving an "important governmental interest" in public safety. He says those two features make guns more lethal" -- You know, for a federal judge to rule against the provisions in our Constitution is really treason, and he should be held accountable for that. There is a process for change in our Constitution, but it's not endowed upon activist judges.

I assume it was taken for a Christmas card, but regardless, there's a picture of Mitt and Ann Romney with their 20+ grandchildren. Mitt Romney is holding their latest grandson, who is adopted and black. Meliss(_*_) H*rris-Perry raked the picture over the coals with a panel of her closest bigots on her MSNBC TV show. The show must have actually had more than one viewer for a change, because someone actually brought to light what she and her 'guests' said about the picture. Of course she "apologized", but her "apology" was for being caught being a race-baiting bigot. Let's see if MSNBC responds like it finally did with (_*_)lec B*ladwin.
---
The "panel of her closest bigots" in the above included: actress Pia Glenn who said, ""One of these things is not like the others."; Melissa, herself, who said, " she imagined what would happen if Kieran and North West got married and Mitt Romney and Kanye West were in-laws."; and comedian Dean Obeidallah who "mocked the photo for "really [summing] up the diversity of the Republican Party."
---
Following up further: "Obeidallah also told CNN that he had "not intended in any way to mock the Romney family or the baby they adopted," adding, "I apologize to the Romney family and especially the baby if any of them were offended by that joke." -- When is an apology really, really not an apology, when someone "apologizes" if he offended a baby. Remember Obeidallah's name just to make sure you never give him the time of day or a reason someone might 'book him' for a performance.

Soapbox moment - Online headline/story: "California Stood Up For
Transgender People In 2013" * In a nationwide first, transgender students in
California will be able to choose which restrooms they want to use starting in
January. They will also be able to choose between boys' and girls' sports
teams." -- I sincerely hope parents of non-transgendered male athletes will
instruct their sons to use the girls restrooms and go out for the girls sports
teams demanding communal locker rooms/showers, and if their male children get
disciplined or harassed by school officials, then sue the State of California
and the local school board/system for the blatant act of discrimination. I
sincerely hope the police departments will ignore any calls from school
officials to come and arrest such male students as well.

HuffPost headline: "Obamacare's Benefits Become Real On New Year's Day" --
Real? Real what? OObamaCRAP has already shown it's a REAL piece of crap; it's a
REAL embarrassment; and it's put more people in a REAL tizzy and uproar, so what
bit of "REAL" starts today?
---
HuffPost story: "Climate change may be far worse than scientists thought,
causing global temperatures to rise by at least 4 degrees Celsius by 2100, or
about 7.2 degrees Fahrenheit, according to a new study." -- You know, these
"Chicken Littles" would have some credibility if they could show they can
accurately predict whether it's going to rain on your daughter's preferred date
for an outdoor wedding 4 months from now, so how do they know what's in store
100 years from know. Good grief, they can't read accurately what happened 100
years ago and they have all the actual figures on which to look back.

Can you belive the second half reversal of fortune in the Duke - Texas
A&M game? All I can think is that Johnny Football made a killing of the
second half betting line. Anyway, with Mississippi State's romp over Rice
earlier, it's now SEC 3, others 0.
---
WTVM9 headline: "Meals on Wheels truck stolen while on delivery" -- Hmmm,
sorta brings up a new category of "fast food". Enough "jokes".. what this really
has done is highlight the warped mentality of liberalism... when you help
someone, and someone steals your truck, it's a crime. On the other hand, when a
government program helps someone, and that someone "steals" from that program,
it's a shame that the certain someone's environment has caused him/her to resort
to such.

L-E headline/story: "Tax credits clear way for start of BTW housing
redevelopment * The first phase of the redevelopment of the Booker T. Washington
public housing project will begin in late 2014 or early 2015, the Housing
Authority of Columbus announced this week. * The Georgia Department of Community
Affairs just awarded Low Income Housing Tax Credits that will facilitate the
first phase going forward, * The first phase is expected to cost about $15
million, Williams said. Nine million will come from federal and state tax
credits, $4.4 million from the housing authority, $1 million from the
Consolidated Government and a $600,000 mortgage, he said. The cost and funding
will be similar for phase two" -- Wait a minute! Who is getting tax credits? I
thought you had to be working as a citizen to get any sort of tax credit. This
sounds like a program designed by Bernie Madoff.. government confiscates taxes,
builds something, then gives itself a tax credit which taxpayers are basically
double-billed, then government repeats the same process for the next phases..
Question: what's government gonna do with the tax credits it gets on phase 3
since there is no phase 4 to apply them to?

L-E story: "The mother of former Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher filed a
wrongful-death lawsuit against the team Tuesday after exhuming his body so that
his brain could be examined for evidence of a degenerative condition linked to
repeated concussions." -- Good grief! The man shot himself in the head, and some
lawyer has convinced the grieving 'mom' that some quack can isolate what caused
what brain damage. I don't blame the mother. I really won't blame this specific
l(_*_)wyer.. The problem is in the legal system. The ABA wants autonomy at
keeping its members accountable, but when cases like this arise, the ABA should
have its 'powers' stripped going forward, and a judge should order the
plaintiff's lawyer to pay for the defendants annoyances.

Bob Wischusen ... Well, after listening to him whining about every subject
he talked about, ESPN should be embarrassed to let him call any football game,
but especially any involving any SEC team.
---
I guess you have to expect to have to listen to inadequate football
announcers like Bob Wischusen. With 35 bowl games, and teams ranked 69 & 70
teeing it up, there aren't enough good announcers to spread around to minor bowl
games.
---
I figured that Oregon would be a leading contender for the "ugly uniform,
bowl editions", and I was right, but UCLA's was the "loser" this bowl season.
Awful... and on national TV to boot.

Guess there was a different elemental "meaning" in the "Happy New Year"
wish Colorado citizens ended the new Colorado New Year's anthem, "Rocky Mountain
High" with earlier today.

Reminder.... On one of the floats in the Rose Parade, two men will conduct
their marriage. Me and my family will watch something else.

Oooops... Syria will not be able to meet the 'line drawn in the sand'
deadline for turning such deadly chemical weapons over to the UN
powers-that-wannabe. As Mel Allen was apt to say, "Well, how about that." Who'da
guessed?

Some reporter 'babe' in Russia was reporting to Fox News regarding the
recent suicide bombings in Volvograd. She almost seemed sympathetic with the
terrorists... even referenced Russian methods as "Draconian", and seemed aghast
that Putin said he would " annihilate" the terrorist. Hey, I felt reassured that
Putin is on top of Olympic safety concerns. Hey, Fox, you can do better, a LOT
better , in who you allow to speak into a microphone.

Yesterday, I received 5.... yes 5 different e-mails from the Democrats
desperate for donations by midnight. I want to suggest to the US Postal Service
that it get permission from Congress to make political e-mails have to pay a
postage fee to the USPS on any electronic political messages.

Online story: "Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) and seven other Democrats have
proposed legislation that would eliminate the possibility of imposing the death
penalty for a range of federal offenses, including several categories of murder
and crimes against the government like treason and espionage." -- Well, can you
blame them for trying? Lying to America is treasonous, and American citizens
could clean House of every Democrat (and most Republicans) who ever made a
campaign promise they knew they weren't going to keep in order to buy a low-info
voter's vote.
---
A fellow BCer brought up the right question to ask your Congressman..
especially if you are in a district of a Democrat (that's Bishop for some of you
in the Columbus area): Why is it that there is concern about the Social Security
account becoming empty, yet no concern about welfare entitlement accounts doing
the same thing?

6 of the Top 10 ways government wastefully spent tax dollars in 2013:
1 - Federal employees took a taxpayer-funded trip to the Buccaneer Hotel in
St. Croix—the same hotel made famous on TV’s “The Bachelor.” The bill was
divided among a number of agencies, making a final tally difficult to come
by.
2 - The Department of Veterans Affairs went on a spending spree during “use it or lose it” season, purchasing over half a million in artwork and millions in furniture in a single week.
3 - The American Embassy in London will be receiving a granite sculpture from an artist “whose work resembles stacked piles of paving stones, for $1,000,000.00

4 - The State Department went on a bender the week before the government
shutdown, purchasing $5 million of “exquisite” crystal glassware to presumably
drink the $400,000 in booze they purchased in 2013
5 - The National Endowment for the Arts provided a grant to PowerUP for
Austin Energy employees to perform an artsy dance with 20 utility poles,
accompanied by a live orchestra.
6 - The Interior Department spent nearly $100,000 to install an outhouse on an Alaskan trail, which includes a single toilet with no internal plumbing. (We know them as a Port-o-let) Of course, it now makes the adage, "Does a bear sh** in the woods" the 21st Century analogy of "what came first, the chicken or the egg"...

L-E headline/story: "Boy, 10, fatally shot Monday while handling gun * “It
appears that the victim and two other juveniles were handling a weapon when it
discharged, striking the 10-year-old victim,” (Coroner Bill) Harris said in a
statement. “He was killed instantly.” -- This is sadder than sad, but why does
the L-E assign Hasn't Ever Ben Wright to report such? Details, necessary details
are just omitted that leave the reader, and friends of the affected families in
darkness. To whom did the gun belong? Was the gun legally registered and owned?
Where were the parents?
---
Very low info voter's L-E "soundoff": "Three out of four children are
bullies. That's how they become Republicans." -- Hmmm, who'da thunk it... those
roving gangs of street thugs voted for Republicans...

Can't wait until the Oscars this year to see Hollywood brand Justin Bieber
with his new moniker.. After all his childish and wimpish tirades this year, his
new movie was a non-event. I expect Hollywood to strip him of his old tribute of
"the Bieb" and take on my newer name for him (displacing "the Boob") ... the
"Bomb".

From online quote source: " “Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give
thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a
step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.”
― Brian Tracy " -- Hmmm, how does the Democrat Party and mainstream media miss
gems such as these when discussing extending welfare plans?
