L-E story: "The opening of Postal Service retail centers in dozens of
Staples stores around the country is being met with threats of protests and
boycotts by the agency's unions. * The new outlets are staffed by Staples
employees, not postal workers, and labor officials say that move replaces
good-paying union jobs with low-wage, nonunion workers. * "It's a direct assault
on our jobs and on public postal services," said Mark Dimondstein, president of
the 200,000-member American Postal Workers Union." -- Well, if you ever wonder
whether there is a solution to turn the USPS around, this just shows it isn't
going to happen.. The Postal Union's only concern is about jobs for members..
better service for consumers is not even in the union thought process.

Online story: " French President Francois Hollande's approval rating
remained unchanged following a news conference to announce economic reforms and
after reports of an affair with actress Julie Gayet put his private life in the
spotlight, a poll showed. * Twenty-two percent of those interviewed were
satisfied with Hollande as president" -- Interesting mainstream media reporting
angle... a whopping 22% are behind Hollande's decisions versus only 78%
rejecting them. You know Judas Pinocci-00 has probably taken note of this as
he's always said he's in love with the French government and feels good that his
own poll numbers are close to double that of the French president so he's still
"OK".
---
I have about decided that polls are our biggest political problem.. Too
many decisions are made based on how they will affect the next poll rather than
whether it's the best decision for our city's, state's or country's needs and
growth.

From the "unintended consequences but what did you really expect"
department - Online headline: "Porn industry is leaving L.A." -- Politics,
indeed, do make "strange bedfellows"... Democrats, you know. the
Pelosi-Feinstein coalition, those bastions of "stay out of our bedrooms"
stalwarts, have over regulated the industry so that it is taking refuge in
Nevada. Guess the porn industry would rather get in bed with Reid, who seems to
be comfortable doing whatever he can to whomever he can.
---
Online headline: "Nun gives birth to baby boy: 'I did not know I was
pregnant' - Hmmm, wonder if she knows who the Father is...or is it she wasn't a
'none'?
---
Online headline: "Derek Jeter helps promote health-food startup" -- Hmm...a
baseball player who's now concerned about what he's putting in his body... now
novel.. how refreshing.
---
Judas Pinocchi-00 loudly proclaims OObamaCRAP is "the law of the land".
Judas Pinocchi-00 smirkingly proclaims he likes his personal coverage better.
Hmmm does tha make Pinocchi-00 ABOVE his own "law of the land"? Hmmm, "some are
more equal than others"... where have I head that before?
---
Online headline: "Madonna apologizes for racial slur" -- Hmmm, wonder if
she will get the Al Sharpton or the Paula Deen treatment... or maybe something
in between like (_*_) B*aldwin?
---
CNN headline: "Spare us the gun lecture, Harvey" -- Harvey? Yep, Harvey
Weinstein, no less. There is "hope", maybe even "change" in the future air. CNN
has seemingly (we know it won't affect how CNN staffers vote) turned on
Weinstein's suddden outrage over guns. Weinstein has made a fortune extorting
gun violence in his "Kill Bill" and "Pulp Fiction" bloodbaths
---
Online headline: "Chris Christie's Office Goes Off On MSNBC: 'A Partisan
Network That Has Been Openly Hostile' -- Christie still doth protest too much..
Now he wants MSNBC to support what he says out of both sides of his mouth.
---
Latest from the Democratic Party/Debbie Wasserman Schultz: "Hal -- I love
State of the Union day." -- See, Democrats, Schultz in particular, cannot start
any conversation without a lie.. I asked her, in return, to name me on State of
the Union day she loved when Bush was president.. I do not expect a reply.
---
Online story: "On Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), who has been
widely discussed as a possible 2016 presidential candidate, told Susan Arbetter
of The Capitol Pressroom that “extreme conservatives” should leave the state. He
said that “extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon,
anti-gay” have “no place in the state of New York.” He began by ripping into the
Tea Party without naming it.” -- Hmmm, yep.. just another typical Democrat who
will campaign on being the candidate for "ALL the People". Yeah, right... uh,
left.
---
Latest from www.barackobama/organizingforaction.com:
"Hal -- Great news: If you've ever thought about becoming a Spring Fellow -- or
know someone who'd be fantastic at it -- you still have a chance to be part of
this. * This year's Spring Fellows program is on pace to be our biggest yet, so
we're extending our application deadline until Sunday, January 26th." -- Yep...
looks like his support is definitely dwindling.. Judas Pinocchi-00's numbers are
way down amongst those who have ever claimed to support him as well as normal
Americans.
---
Remember "Octo-mom"? She's in court...again...for food stamp fraud...again.
This time she faces a possible 8 year prison sentence...hmmm... 8 years..that
sounds ironically appropriate for "octo-mom".
---
Online headline: "It's Official: Michelle Obama Is the Youngest 50-Year-Old
Ever" -- Hmmm, must be her rendition of "The Emperor's New
Clothes".....Obviously this headline writer is on Michele's "staff" as the Chief
Sycophant".. Guess this person is also looking to be the replacement for Judas
Pinocchi-00's current Chief Sycophant, Jay Carney.
---
Online headline: "Kim Kardashian Shares Wedding Details" -- OMG! Does she
not have ANY shame? Will there be "film at 11:00"?
---
The school board might just better latch on to Hatcher-Stubb's talents for
at least the rest of the year. I imagine the man who was dragged over a mile
under the car of a Spencer student who did not have any of the documentation
that's required for a student to have a car on a Columbus high school campus
will be filing a suit for negligence against the Spencer High administration for
not monitoring student's parking undocumented, uninsured vehicles on
campus.

I find it "amusing" that Atlanta's mayor is catching flack for not
challenging Governor Deal versus supporting the Democrat Party choice for Jason
Carter. Could it simply be than the mayor realizes that Deal is a much better
choice than another Carter for our state? If so, standing "O" for Reed putting
our state's needs above his party's wants!
---
Absolute lowest of low info voter's L-E "soundoff": "Criminal Wall Street
banks took our trillion-dollar bailout and used it to pay lobbyists and lawyers
to gut the Dodd-Frank Consumer Protection Acy. I see another bailout coming
soon." -- As Redd Foxx was so apt to say in a situation like this, "It's the big
one, Elizabeth!" This submitter probably tried to write in their names in the
last election even though neither ran because they didn't want the campaign ads
to reveal the full extent of their crookedness and complicity in bringing the
housing/mortgage industry to it's knees.
---
Has to be another L-E"soundoff" from the above submitter: "Banks making
loans to people who weren't creditworthy crashed the economy. Some of them may
have been "deadbeats", but bankers weren't forced to approve the loans." -- This
has to be the same person as above. Surely we don't have two such people walking
around here at the same time.
---
L-E story: "This is the inaugural year for the Little Miss Ebony Columbus
Scholarship Pageant. Young ladies ages 4-17 who are African-American or Latino
descent in the Columbus area can participate." -- Is there a "Coloreds Only"
water fountain on site as well? You know, I do not object to a a scholarship
pageant, but I do object to such based only on the color of one's skin.
WWMLKS...What Would Martin Luther King Say? Oh, ACLU... where are you?
---
Looking at the local Council/MCSD Board election picture, I see a few a few
we need to keep.. Pop, Bruce, and Judy on Council, and Mark on the MCSD Board.
The rest have to show me something more between now and May 20th. Am definitely
leaning for Colin at this stage of the Mayoral line-up. Josh already has my
vote. Will voice my opinions later as the dust clears on who's running for
what.
---
L-E story: "A south Georgia funeral home broke no laws when it used
newspapers to stuff the body of a Valdosta teenager found dead last year inside
a rolled up gym mat at his school, state regulators concluded in a report sent
to the teen’s parents." -- Wow! Now there's an alternative to the two previous
best ways to recycle old L-E's... corpse cavity filler. It does sound more noble
than "crappie wrapper" or "bird cage liner".
---
L-E story: " A Tuscaloosa County jury has acquitted a 25-year-old man
charged with shooting six people wounded by gunfire at a birthday party nearly
two years ago. * The Tuscaloosa News reports a jury found Donald Deshun Wynn not
guilty Friday in all six shootings at a Cottondale party last February. Defense
attorney Mike Upton said Wynn and his family were “just very relieved” by the
verdict. * A second man charged in the shootings, 25-yearold Tivon Rollie
Thomas, is scheduled to stand trial in April." -- You know, all the protests,
all the press releases, and all the marches against violence on the
streets/black on black crime go for naught when the jury system lets violent
people out because of the color of their skin. Matin Luther King, Jr. .. your
self-proclaimed disciples need remedial course.

No amount of government aid will pull any citizen out of poverty unless the
government aid is for the purpose of making sure every citizen has the equal
protection from the government as written into the U.S. Constitution. Even the
successful and hard workers need equal protection FROM the government,
especially the current administration.
---
It's amazing to watch mainstream media go after Robert Gates. Perhaps
mainstream media should do us all a favor and go after the 'message' rather than
the messenger. Benghazi comes to mind as well. Oh, and how about our veterans'
post service medical needs?

Just when we thought the Columbus L-E couldn't do any more harm than
publishing Leanord Pitts' commentary, the L-E brings out Mary Sanchez.
