Online story: "A new Department of Justice memo will instruct federal
government lawyers to give same-sex marriages "full and equal recognition, to
the greatest extent possible under the law," Attorney General Eric Holder plans
to announce during a speech on Saturday. * The decision comes three years after
Holder decided that the DOJ would no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act
(DOMA), most of which was struck down by the Supreme Court last summer." --
"most of which was struck down by the Supreme Court"? The Supreme Court
recognizes the primary aspect of DOMA, that states are not required to redefine
its laws of marriage to include same-sex unions. That being said, it is not the
Pric Holder's or the DOJ's job (nor decision) to ignore individual rights of
states. If same-sex married couples want the full support of the federal
government, these couples should move to states that fall under the full
umbrella of federal support.

Online headline/story: " Las Vegas gamblers eye aging slot machine they
expect to pay off millions * For many gamblers, the hottest attraction on the
floor of the MGM Grand is an outdated three-reel slot machine that hasn't
produced a jackpot in nearly two decades." -- Even by Las Vegas odds, this one
should be considered rigged/fixed not to payout.

One of the most prolific questions be asked by mainstream media I'd "Why is
ObamaCare ailing?". Hmmm...that's the wrong question...the right one is "Why is
ObamaCare FAILING?"

Democrats beware.. this will make you proud to be an American:

America just can't get no respect... guess it's the Rodney Dangerfield
syndrome. Take the Olympics' iconic symbol.. the 5 rings of 5 colors. Each
nation has one of its flag colors within the colors of the rings, but each of
the rings is suppose to represent the continents that the competing countries
come from. Asia has a ring, so does Europe, Africa, and Australia... but the
Olympics decided that North America and South America have to share the 5th
ring. Now, do we North Americans claim its our 'ring' at the expense of South
America, or vice-versa? Or do the Americas vote out Australia.. heck we have two
of our 50 states that have populations greater than all of Australia, and 2 more
state that are close to Australia's total. Shoot, North America has 3 countries
with more population by themselves, and South America has 5 counties with
higher populations.

L-E headline: "BLACK-ON-BLACK CRIME * A DEADLY CYCLE * African-Americans in
Chattahoochee Valley struggle to end pattern of black-on-black crime, a national
epidemic" -- While I'm glad to see this being a focus poit... Black-on-Black
crime is not just a black issue. It's not a "black thing, you won't understand"
issue. We've gotten to this poit because anytime the white community wants to
discuss it, somebody throws "the race card". It's to time everybody admit it's
not a racial issue, it's a cultural issue, and it's an overall community issue
and problem.

Looking at the crime maps/statistics that Mayor Obamalinson wants to focus
on is somewhat skewed. The areas she has highlighted are heavy with drug issues,
and increased police patrols will have little effect on them. Drug deals will
just move a block or two, or wait for the patrol cars to drive away. The areas
that would benefit most from increased patrols would be in areas that have more
home burglaries, and car break ins/thefts. Of course, this ain't gonna happen on
her watch, because she doesn't want to alarm her donor list by bringing those
crime stats to their attention.
---
Don't you wonder why Mayor Obamalinson hasn't made a constantly up-to-date
crime map available online? How hard would that be? Surely the additional costs
(though they should be negligible) would fall under the Public Safety LOST
revenues. now this is what crime prevention should be about!

Lo-o-o-w info voter's L-E "soundoff": " Major corporations are dominating
and destroying our marketplaces and local economies, doing everything to avoid
paying a fair share of taxes, and bullying local and state governments to
subsidize their operations." -- Good grief! Even the Democratic Party had better
slow down on class warfare or their followers will soon be after their heads as
well. Karl Marx was a cream puff compared to this "soundoff" writer.
---
Incredibly low info voter's L-E "soundoff": "Thomas Jefferson, the best
educated man of his time, had a passion for knowledge. Reagan promised to
“eliminate the Department of Education,” and we now have the highest illiteracy
rate in the developed world." -- Excuse me, but Reagan DIDN"T eliminate the
Department of Education, so the "highest illiteracy rate in the developed world"
cannot be blamed on him. Carter created it, and the Democrats have controlled
the DOE since. The only thing more obvious that the analysis of this writer's
claim is that the "soundoff" submitter has hoisted herself on her on
petard.

The L-E editorial commentary on taking away the freedoms of lawyers to
redistribute "legal wealth" is astounding! This is a quote from such: "Maybe the
Georgia Bar should call for more hours of pro bono work on the part of its
members. Maybe the state’s law schools can send more newly minted lawyers to
underserved areas and populations as a way to both gain experience and pay for
their legal education. Maybe the state can offer tax credits or other incentives
to take on cases for people who can’t pay.
(Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Hugh) Thompson is right: Adequate legal access should be a right, not a privilege." -- This is coming out of the mouths of people who wouldn't have a job if not for the 1st Amendment of our Constitution, and from the same people who would raise the roof over their rights if government said they had to provide news services for free! What hypocrites!
