Online story: "On November 22, 2012 Michael Elli received a ticket for flashing his lights to warn fellow drivers of a speed trap * A federal judge in St. Louis ruled Monday that a driver flashing their lights to warn other drivers of an impending speed trap is protected free speech." -- This is true justice... The laws regarding speeding were written for safety, and if another driver flashing his headlights gets another driver, even better yet, a line of drivers to be conscious of the speed limit, we are all safer, and that is the intention of speed limits.

You know... all during his campaign, Judas 00-Barnum repeatedly claimed he would sit down at a table and have unbridled discussion with leaders of enemy and terrorist countries yet he still won't sit at the table and talk with Republicans... anyone else see the problem I have with this?

We're hearing a lot of whining from the Mayor Obamalinson and the City Budget office concerning the budget overruns at the Sheriff's Office. Now, has anyone from the Budget Office, the City Manager's office, or Council itself actually taken into consideration what the federal demands made on the Sheriff's Office budget for housing and medically serving criminals when planning/authorizing the annual budget for the Sheriff's office?
---
Just curious, but it seems Mayor Obamalinson is out for Sheriff Darr. She can't fire him as he's an elected official of a county established office, but it looks like she's trying to damage his re-electability. Wonder if it has anything to do with his given ability to arrest a mayor?

I stand unabashedly corrected.. I exclaimed that the US would be better off no matter who was elected to fill the seat of retiring CA Congressman Henry Waxman after 40 years in the House. I could be wrong... Sandra Fluke is running.
---
I'm curious... Sandra Fluke testified in Congress that she wasn't able to afford birth control pills for herself so wanted everyone else to pay for them, but now she can afford to pay the qualifying fee to run for Congress. Tell you what, taxpayers are going to need "protection" from her if she wins.

Online story: " Federal officials on Wednesday pledged more money to help California cope with its severe drought as state fishing regulators shut down recreational angling on portions of two water-starved rivers because of concerns about the survival of salmon and steelhead trout. * The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and Natural Resources Conservation Service announced another $14 million for water management improvements in the state, a day after Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack committed $20 million" -- All California needs to do is open the dam gates and stop coddling the fish. No matter how hard you "squeeze $34 MILLION dollars, nary a drop of water will be produced. This is nothing short of a Judas 00-Barnum payoff to Pelosi and Feinstein for delivering 55 Electoral votes during his elections.

Online story: "Federal prosecutors rested their corruption case Wednesday against former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, * Prosecutors allege that corruption spanned the two terms and included the period after Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005, when contractors sought to benefit from potentially lucrative rebuilding jobs in the devastated city. * The final prosecution witness was Josephine Beninati, a financial analyst for the U.S. Attorney's Office, who discussed her examination of documents indicating Nagin got $511,000 in money, travel, cellular phone service, granite for his family business and other benefits. * Cross examining Beninati, defense lawyer Robert Jenkins questioned why she characterized payments from various contractors as bribes when they could easily be seen as investments." -- "investments"? And the 1% of lawyers wonder why the public vilifies/stereotypes them because of the other 99% of lawyers.. I just wanna know what the feds were thinking when they tried this case in New Orleans? My bets are on the jury being bribed from the gitgo.

Online story: "On Thursday, Maine’s Supreme Court made history when it ruled that officials from the public school violated state anti-discrimination law by not allowing Nicole ( a transgender with boy plumbing) to use the girls' bathroom. It was the first time that a state court has ruled it unlawful to deny transgender students access to the bathroom of the gender with which they identify" -- "Maine’s Supreme Court made history"? No, the Maine’s Supreme Court rewrote the law which should be Maine's legislative body's job.

CVS just announced it was going to stop selling cigarettes and other tobacco products by October. This is not so much a statement against tobacco (it's still a legal product, but because of legal restrictions/obligations on selling such, plus CVS is basically a non-compensated "tax collector" for the feds) as it is trying to put more profitable margined products at its cash register stations.

Online story: "Bill O’Reilly tonight took on MSNBC “All In” host Chris Hayes’ remarks that O’Reilly benefited from government help because he grew up in Levittown, N.Y., which was a result of the federal housing policy. * O’Reilly countered Hayes’ statements. He said federal housing policy was providing GIs with low-cost mortgages after returning from World War II. * “They weren’t freebies,” O’Reilly said. “Our military people earned them because they sacrificed years of their lives where they weren’t making any money.” *O’Reilly’s father was a military officer who was able to get a low-cost mortgage in Levittown." -- MSNBC's Chris Hayes literally hung himself out to dry claiming Bill O'Reilly's dad's war-earned mortgage break was a "benefit from government". I really don't have a problem of government programs that "benefit" people. The problem is government programs that DON"T benefit people long term.

Online story: "A Maryland middle school is under fire for throwing a dance and pizza party for only the smartest students, while more than 300 kids were left out. It begs the question: does this help or hurt lower achieving students? * Psychologist Dr. Susan Lipkins said this type of reward system undermines anti-bully programs. * “It is divisive. It makes kids feel like they’re excluded, and it’s sort of like a country club that only accepts the smart kids,” she said." -- Good grief.. how can what ever state licensed her as a doctor of psychology not shrink from embarrassment? How can her college not want to sneak in and erase its bame from any diplomas she was given? She must suffer from the everybody-gets-a-trophy and it's-not fair-to-keep-score syndromes.
---
L-E headline/story: "15 Carver players sign for college * In addition to Walton (Indiana U), Carver had two other Division-I signees and 12 non-Division-I signees." -- Hmmm, glad Dr Lipkins (above item) wasn't invited to the signing.. she'd probably claim it was fair that 3 got D-1 scholarships and the others didn't.

Online story: "During a press conference on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney called ‘freedom’ a “buzzword.” -- "buzzword"? I, and as well as many of you, had ancestors die in obtaining the freedoms we are guaranteed in our Constitution. I'm thinking of a "buzzword" for Carney and Judas 00-Barnum... "pinkslip" for Carney; "impeachment and conviction" for 00-Barnum.

Just a brief comment regarding "accidental asphyxiation"? Asphyxiation is something the body fights hard to overcome. It's a reflexive struggle for life in situations where our bodies sense deprivation of oxygen...drowning.. strangulation are forms of asphyxiation. If the body is conscious, it will struggle. There's more to "accidental asphyxiation' than is being revealed. My mother literally died of accidental asphyxiation following surgery, but was miraclely brought back to life. Anther friend, a well-known Columbus icon, died of accidental asphyxiation when he was passed out. The same agent was responsible for both situations. There's more to this story.
---
Soapbox moment - L-E story: " Once more a Muscogee County Superior Court hearing on convicted Columbus “Stocking Strangler” Carlton Gary’s motion for a new trial has been postponed." -- Carlton Gary terrorized this town in 1977-78. His lawyers have terrorized the justice system ever since. After 36 years of taxpayer room and board, Gary's lawyers have strangled due process, and the case is now in the hands of some people who weren't even born when Gary was raping and killing older women. I think the lawyers who prolong his life (because they can) should have to be subjected to Gary's death sentence as well when the dust finally settles!

Bottom-of-the-barrel low info voter's L-E "soundoff": "Ninety-five percent of all wealth made since 2009 went to the one percent — 400 people. The other 320 million of us shared five percent. Thanks, Citizens United and lobbyists." -- Hmmm, low info plus must be a product of public education as well. So, 400 people constitute 1% of Americans. Good Grief... that would make this soundoff submitter one of only 39,600 other Americans in this entire country. Just another typical, informed Democratic Party voter.
---
Even below-the-bottom-of-the-barrel low info voter's L-E "soundoff": " Those of us who served in Vietnam forgave Jane Fonda long ago. She was speaking her mind. Something we were fighting for. Maybe you should seek help." -- This guy must have survived his Kool-Aid he obviously drank with Jim Jones in Guyana.
---
A get-out-the-shovel-it's-really-getting-deep-in-here low info voter's L-E "soundoff": "Obama didn’t turn whites against blacks, rich against poor and men against women. Karl Rove did." -- Well, it's more of a case of Judas 00-Barnum turning blacks against whites, the poor against the rich, and women against men plus the do-nothings against the doers, but what do you expect form someone who still votes for anyone who will promise something for free.
---
L-E story: "PANAMA CITY — Work on the ambitious Panama Canal expansion project was halted Wednesday after talks broke down on how to settle a dispute over $1.6 billion in cost overruns." -- It's not even finished yet, and there are $1.6 BILLION in cost overruns? How can anyone run up $1.6 BILLION in unauthorized debt without someone else noticing earlier?
---
L-E story: "Concerned that ethical problems inside the military might run deeper than he realized, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel ordered service leaders Wednesday to add urgency to their drive to ensure “moral character and moral courage” in a force emerging from more than a decade of war" -- Hmmm, bet he won't last long if he decides that "ethical problems in the military" run HIGHER than he realized....
---
L-E headline/story: "Hoffman autopsy inconclusive, further tests needed * Four people were taken into custody on drug charges after police investigating Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death executed search warrants, two people with knowledge of the investigation said Wednesday, and the medical examiner’s office said more tests are needed to determine what killed him." -- Hmmm, guess finding someone with a hypodermic needle in his arm didn't pass the "accidental death" evaluation in New York.....
---
L-E's "Quotable": “The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group." - Franklin D. Roosevelt 32nd U.S. President (1882-1945)" -- Hmmm, bet if there's a portrait or bust of FDR in the White House, Judas 00-Barnum will now have it taken out and returned to the family similar to what happened to Winston Churchill's bust.
---
L-E headline: "Singer Clay Aiken to run for Congress in North Carolina" -- As a Democrat, of course; hmmm, wonder if the DOJ will rule voters can text/call in up to 50 votes each via their cellphones?
---
L-E story: " A Toyota Avalon was reported stolen after a man went inside the Milgen Road Circle K on Monday and left the vehicle unlocked, according to a Columbus police report. * The victim told police he had only been in the store a few minutes around 10:30 p.m. when a thief hopped inside his mother’s vehicle and used the key-less ignition to start the car." -- Hmmm.. all I've ever been told is that those "keyless ignition systems" require the car "key" to be within a very short distance to be able to activate the ignition. Either Toyota has a real PR problem to deal with, or the driver's story may need a little more examination.

Congrats to all our school system's teachers nominated for "Teacher of the Year"! It's quite an honor for each of the 57 teachers named.

Today is the National Day of Prayer breakfast in Washington. Tis nice to see/hear Judas 00-Barnum is praying more nowadays, but it would be nice if he included others than himself in them.
---
Today also is the birthday of Ronald Reagan.
