You know, a Russian news anchor just bolted, cracked up, over having to lie
for Putin...to try to make Putin look good in spite of what the public knows.
Hmmm, you know..is it worse to be in Russia and not have the freedom to speak
the truth as a journalist, or to be in America and intentionally fail to speak
the truth about the President?

HuffPost "headlie"/story: "American teen beaten in Mideast talks about
ordeal * TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A Palestinian-American teen left with stitches and
bruises from his detention by Israeli security forces said Sunday he was beaten,
kicked and blindfolded on a family trip to the Middle East * Fifteen-year-old
T**** A** K***** flew home to Tampa last week and told The Associated Press from
his home in Florida that he holds out hope that he can visit the region again
and "come back safe." * Israeli authorities released T**** three days after he
was detained and sentenced him to nine days of house arrest while they
investigated what they said was his participation in violent protests" * the
teen told AP that he did not take part in rock-throwing disturbances shortly
before he was picked up by Israeli security forces. He said he just was watching
and listening to a commotion surrounding the investigation of the disappearance
of his cousin when Israeli forces began shooting rubber bullets and tear gas
into a crowd that had formed. * "I didn't do anything to them (Israeli
authorities) to do this to me," he said" -- Hmmmm... "American teen"?... hmmm..
how about a "Palestinian-American" Muslim teen? "just watching and listening" at
a rock throwing protest? Good grief... I'm sorry anybody has to be subjected to
pain, but his being "American" had nothing to do with this event, and I'm sure
the Israeli authorities/security had nothing better to do than rouse "innocent
bystanders who were not involved". The whole situation is tough, but we do not
need American media distorting truth.. distorting what happened.

HuffPost story related to above: "Israeli police raided the home of
15-year-old T**** A** K***** early Friday, just hours after the
Palestinian-American teenager left for Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport
to return home to Tampa, Florida. * According to H(_*_)ss(_*_)n Shibly, A**
K*****'s legal counsel and the director of the Florida branch of the Council on
American Islamic Relations, Israeli police burst into the family home in Shufat
on Friday and destroyed furniture and emptied cabinets. Shibly said the police
then arrested and detained Abu Khdeir's uncle and two other cousins without
charges. * State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a press briefing
Friday that the United States was "shocked by the treatment of Tariq and
strongly condemned any excessive use of force." -- Wait a minute.. wait a DAMN
minute.. A spokesman for the US Secretary of State is "shocked" by Israel
responding to direct assaults, and for Israel's raid on the home of the family
of a radical Muslim?

Online story: "U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry sounded exasperated
during a candid moment between interviews on Sunday as he discussed the ongoing
conflict in Gaza with an off-camera aide. * "It's a hell of a pinpoint
operation. It's a hell of a pinpoint operation," Kerry, apparently unaware he
was being recorded, said to the aide. "We've got to get over there ... I think,
John, we ought to go tonight. I think it's crazy to be sitting around." -- Good
grief.. this Secretary of State "thinks it's crazy to be sitting around" when
what he's talking about is how another nation responds to its people being
attacked by terrorist, and one of his spokespersons has already blasted the
Israeli response to Muslim radicals? I think it's time for the Mosqued man and
his minions to officially declare their obvious hatred for Israel and the Jewish
heritage. Of course they won't do that before the November elections because
they don't want the Jewish vote to change.

Another HuffPost story: "Max Steinberg and Nissim Sean Carmeli grew up in America. But they both developed a passion for Israel. * The young men's love of Israel ultimately led them to join the Israel Defense Forces, and they ended up fighting for the Jewish state in the Gaza Strip this week. * On Sunday, Steinberg, 24, and Carmeli, 21, were killed there. They were among 13 Israeli soldiers and 65 Palestinians killed Sunday during the first major ground battle in two weeks of fighting between Israel and Hamas." -- Hmmm no "Israeli/Jewish-American" status for two Americans who were committed to their ideals. Parents grieve, but there's no whining.. no denial of what these young men stood for. God bless them and their families.

Here's a commentary that deserves attention from all the Columbus readers
of the Breakfast Club. It's written by one of our group who's personally served
on the MCSD with distinction. Othe BC members might find this very informative
of how the politics of an elected school board are deteriorating their own
community's educational system.: http://curmudgeoncommentary.wordpress.com/

Elizabeth Warren quotes:
1 - "We believe that immigration has made this country strong and vibrant,
and that means reform." -- Hmmm.. so something that has worked for America's
benefit for hundreds of years now need to be scrapped?
2 - "We believe that students are entitled to get an education without
being crushed by debt." -- Hmmm, so you encourage student loans which keep
excessive quantities of ill-productive professors able to send out ill-prepared
graduates into a world where they can't find a career in a world based on being
able to produce a product people want...
3- "We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty,
and that means raising the minimum wage." -- Hmmm.. so if minimum wage is
associated with poverty.. won't raising the minimum wage just raise the poverty
level?
Good grief.. liberalism is dependent on educating the next generation to
expect an entitlement lifestyle, and we wonder why education seems diminished
and goal free?

Online story: " U.S. Border Patrol agents on the American side of the Rio
Grande were forced to take cover Friday night when high-caliber weaponry was
fired at them from the Mexican side of the river, * The Border Patrol agents
believe the rounds are .50 cal too, and given the range involved there, that
well might be the case" -- Hmmm... know we know why Where's Waldobama declined
to visit the Texas border.. He had already read the weekend's news in
advance.

L-E story: " Speaking of the city’s misspelling, the historic marker in
front of the old slave cemetery on Sixth
Avenue has been taken down so it can be fixed." -- Let's call it for what it is.. a lie. How much money - tax money - was spent trying to prove that area was ever used as a cemetery for anyone? Even the archeological group was embarrassed that they could find absolutely no evidence, not even a misinterpretable sign, that would indicate any burying had been done at any time? Let's not encourage misinformation.. our schools and politicians do enough of that.

L-E story: "The Muscogee County School Board is expected tonight to fill
the assistant principal position at four high schools. * The board will meet at
6 p.m. in the Muscogee County Public Education Center on Macon Road. * At
Carver High School, it is Lisa Norris, a math teacher at Carver since 1992, whom
Lewis is recommending." -- Excuse me, but not even knowing the teacher (she
could be a real gem) at Carver being promoted to assistant principal, I have to
question the Superintendent's choice simply because Carver had the lowest test
scores in Columbus. Why not bring in new, more proven leadership? The taxpayers
have spent over $50 Million in the time frame that this teacher has been at
Carver (about $19M in 1993 and close to $40M in the recent rebuild of the whole
school), and the taxpayers have seen negative return on this investment.

LIV's L-E "soundoff": " Rush Limbaugh and most conservative talk show hosts
were Vietnam cowards. Rush got a deferment for a cyst on his butt, an easily
treatable condition. Quoting Limbaugh: “I did not want to go.” -- Typical
liberal misinfo.. yet quite revealing.. After the ink has settles it's quite
apparent this lib soundoffer IS a butt cyst.

L-E headline: "Democratic planners assessing Birmingham for 2016" -- Heh
heh heh... Why? Because none of the delegates can walk the streets of Chicago
with their guns, and no Democratic Party official wants even their followers
seeing what Democratic Party leadership has done to Detroit?

On a sad note, but not a gloomy one, we lost James Garner on Saturday.
Decided not to comment yesterday so I could reflect on his career and how it
affect me.. Gonna miss him, but glad his legacy remains with us. Hopefully, the
next generations will enjoy his insights. his humor, and his work ethics. Heaven
knows the next generation is going to see positive work ethics from the
government or education systems, or this generation's entertainment
industry.

L-E story: "Volunteers, including teachers and their family members and
friends, Columbus High School students and employees from Columbus Bank and
Trust, joined forces Saturday for a “paint party” to paint several classrooms
and others rooms at South Columbus Elementary School. Principal Patrice McFadden
said the common areas in the school were repainted last year but the classrooms
needed a fresh coat of paint in bright, child-friendly colors. “We wanted a
bright environment that was conducive to learning,” McFadden said. She said the
Muscogee County School District provided the five-gallon buckets of paint in
assorted colors, which had been donated to the district for this purpose" --
Hmmm.. just shows how out-of-touch the Board and Administration is out of touch
with classrooms needs. There's no budget, and no input process in the system for
the type of changes that create good classroom learning environments. Way to go
frontline employees, volunteers, and taxpayers!
---
The above is ironic considering John Wells led the change to get board
members able to be able to bid on school projects. Wells owned Bi-City Paint at
that time, so he knows what paint can do, but has not lent that knowledge to the
current school needs.

You know.. Auburn held a football camp Saturday.. Over 700 hopefuls got to
show their stuff to Auburn. Auburn used this to show Nick Marshall to them.
Thought it was rather dumb to do so when most of the players' parents were there
as well.
