HuffPost headline: "Obama Announces New Sanctions Against Russia Over
Ukraine" -- Good grief...isn't this about 5 months late and a lot of (now)
rubles short?

Online story: "A federal judge has ruled that California's death penalty
system is unconstitutional. * U.S. District Judge Cormac J. Carney handed down
an order Wednesday, finding that the system is arbitrary and in violation of the
Constitution's 8th Amendment. * "California's death penalty system is so plagued
by inordinate and unpredictable delay (over 900 sentences but only 13 have been
carried out) that the death sentence is actually carried out against only a
trivial few of those sentenced to death," Carney writes. "For all practical
purposes then, a sentence of death in California is a sentence of life
imprisonment with the remote possibility of death -- a sentence no rational
legislature or jury could ever impose." -- Good grief.. I actually agree with a
California federal district court decision... not that I agree with it being
something unconstitutional in itself, but in the ineffective time delays that
could have prevented future crimes from happening, and victims' families being
subjected to extended delays in seeing justive carried out.

Online story: "The Obama administration has awarded a $50 million contract
to a charitable group to buy a Texas resort hotel and transform it in to a 600
bed facility for juvenile illegal aliens. * The plan is to have the hotel ready
for illegal alien children ages 12 to 17 by October 1st of this year, a mere
two-and-half months from now. It is expected the average stay will be about
fifteen days. * The Palm Aire Hotel and Suites currently advertises amenities
such as two outdoor swimming pools—one Olympic sized—Jacuzzis, sauna, steam
room, two racquetball courts, outdoor tennis courts, picnic area with grills and
a fitness center with twenty machines and free weights." -- Good grief... not
only is that over $683,000.00 per illegal alien child.. it admits that this is
not a short term "solution", and that means $50 MILLION is a drop in the bucket.
Even worse that this is NOT part of the $3.78 BILLION the Man of Steal has
requested from Congress!

Good grief! Harry Reid..DemocRAT leader if the Senate said, "Our borders are secure!". Hmmm... I wonder if we have to parse the word "borders"? Perhaps Harry was saying/meaning, " boarders"..and they do seem to be "secure".. Secure in accommodations, secure in their next meals, and secure in getting government assistance.

Solution to above.. a set time period..say sentence be carried out within 3
months of such, and say no more than 2 years for any appeal to be filed and
court accepted, Then, carry out the execution on the original sentence date if
an appeal is not filed by then, and if an appeal id properly filed, carry out
the sentence within 30 days of any court rejection of such appeal that the court
rejects it.

Online headline: "Blagojevich renews effort to clear his name" -- Ain't
gonna happen.. ain't gonna LET that happen.. I had to learn how to pronounce
and spell his name when I could care less about him, and now that I know how to
do those things, I will not let him off the hook!

L-E story: "Police discovered former Muscogee County Coroner William
Thrower naked in his front yard Tuesday after officers responded to a family
dispute at his 11th Avenue home, according to Columbus police reports. *
According to police and jail reports, the 63-year-old Thrower was charged with
being disorderly while intoxicated and possessing a drug-related object. His
wife Barbara, 50, was also arrested and charged with having a drug-related
object." -- Good grief.. makes you wonder what went on in "the morgue" during
after hours when he was Coroner.

You know...Bill Clinton openly admitted to loathing the military. Can you
imagine how much more Hillary loathes our service men?

From a heads-up of a fellow BCer - http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhsr/nhsr077.pdf --
this is the July 15, 2014 report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services report on the numbers.. accurate numbers, of the sexual orientation of
America. Most definitely a "just as I suspected" confirmation for normal
Americans.
---
L-E headline: "Muscogee schools shine on state high school tests" -- Huh?
The L-E must think no one reads beyond the headline.. or , most probably, not
many can read the story..Once again.. our local school test results.. especially
in Math and English demonstrates how ill prepared most of our high school
students are ready to go to college or work when they leave with their diplomas.
Average is not a goal to begin with.

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Speaker Boehner, the U.S. Supreme Court has already
ruled in favor of Obamacare and it would be asinine, and expensive, for you to
sue to overturn it." -- Well.. the Supreme Court did rule it was a tax, and
Congress is empowered to levy taxes. What the Supreme Court did not opine on was
the fact that the OObamaCRAP bill illegally originated in the Senate.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Kudos to Columbus city management for requiring Mr.
Coates to pass ICC certification requirements. He was given two years but found
certification to be unimportant. Seemed a lot like hiring a lifeguard who
couldn’t swim." -- Hmmm.. this must have been sent in by a Mayoral aide or Mayor
Obamalinson herself..
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " As to the ruling concerning health clinics, we have
five powerful, conservative Catholic men issuing incoherent edicts about women
based on religious superstition and lies, assuming that women are imbeciles,
requiring crude, aggressive bullying." -- Hmmm.. truth is that we have 6 Roman
Catholic and 3 Jewish Justices. Truth is we have 3 women and 6 men. Truth is we
had 9 men on the US Supreme Court when the Roe v Wade decision was handed down.
Truth is all 9 of the Justices have Ivy League law degrees.. That's where the
problem is...
---
Wow.. two L-E letters-to-the-editors I can really support.. one from Judge
Peters concerning Charles Tate.. this is a no-brainer, but none-the-less, the
L-E did print it. I definitely agree with Judge Peters' assessment and praise.
Now the second one stunned me.. I'm not a Frank Myers "fan" as I believed him to
be self-interested in his political involvements. This view has made me look at
him a little bit different. I do hope he continues in his quest to improve
perspective of the school board's goals. I've been a long time proponent that
our school system stop looking at "average" as a goal to seek. Average is either
the best of the worst or worst of the best...

L-E story: "HOOVER, Ala. — At this point, concrete details on the criteria
for making the new College Football Playoff are still a mystery. * Bill Hancock,
executive director of the College Football Playoff, tried to clear up some of
the confusion with his presentation Wednesday at SEC media days." -- "Wednesday"
presentation? That's the problem.. he didn't ask the Monday Morning QBs for
help.
