You know...with all the Congressional Medals of Honor the Mosqued man has placed on living recipients, how could he return 5 of the worst jihadists back into the war? Speaking of those 5, when was the last time you saw a report of where they are?
---
HuffPost "headlie/story": "The 30 Best BBQ Restaurants In America, According To Open Table * You no longer have to live in Alabama or make a trip to Texas to eat great ribs, brisket, or awesome BBQ sides. These days, you can get great barbecue in the center of Manhattan or a pulled pork sandwich worthy of a food coma in the Golden City." -- Good grief... I'd heard about "Open Table", but when an organization puts together a list of great barbeque eateries in the US and only 4 of the top 30 are in the South (and totally excluding Columbus and Memphis), I have to take it that "Open Table" only recommends restaurants that pay to be listed on their website. So much for ever going back to that site...

Texas Governor Rick Perry finally stepped up to the plate and sent the Texas Guard to the border to help. Three cheers.. Perry had finally done something to help other Republican candidates get elected this November.
---
Online headline: "Obama: What Are Russian Separatists Trying To Hide At Malaysian Plane Crash Site?" -- Hmmm... and when are we going to hear the Mosqued man ask: What are they trying to hide at:
1 - DOJ?
2 - IRS?
3 - HHS?
4 - DHS?
5 - ATF?
6 - US State Department?
7 - Benghazi?
8 -Sgt. Bergdahl?
9 - Major Nisan?
10- VA?
11- INS?
etc, etc, etc.....
---
Online headline: "Florida leads nation in foreclosures thus far in 2014" -- Whew... Mayor Obamalinson dodged another list but she's not in the clear yet as Number 2 wasn't named.
---
From the "only in California" department - Online story: " Family may be charged for watering lawn less during drought" The City of Glendora, California Water Department issued a threat to a homeowner that he wasn't in compliance with city maintenance codes by not watering his lawn enough.. sounds reasonable in a Claifornia way, but that's only part of the story. Glendora also has edicts out about watering your lawn because of drought conditions. I do believe we have the first fully documented case of "damned if you do and damned if you don't".
---
Online headline: "Obama On Statehood For DC: 'I'm For It' -- Hmmm... did we need a definitive answer to the lists of why Washington, DC should not be granted statehood status?
---
Instant replay - Online headline: "Obama On Statehood For DC: 'I'm For It' -- Hmmm.. as in the Mosqued man would like Marion Berry and Jesse Jackson, Sr to be two more permanent Democratic Party US Senators?
---
You know.. we bought Alaska so it's ours either way.. but do you think Hawaii is really convinced it ever wanted statehood?
---
HuffPost story: "MSNBC contributor Rula Jebreal took issue with the network's coverage of the conflict in the Middle East on Monday. * Speaking on Ronan Farrow's show, she accused MSNBC of covering the Israeli perspective far more than the Palestinian side." -- Hey, how come conservatives and Christians don't get a chance to go on MSNBC to say the same thing?
---
HuffPost headline: "Biden: US Won't Rest Until VA Problems Are Fixed" -- Well, Bleep Veep Biden-my-time sure should be rested up enough.. he sure hasn't spent any time or energy on them during his first 6 years as VP.
---
Online headline: "Now IRS Reports EVEN MORE Computer Crashes, Doesn’t Know If Emails Still Exist" *
Hmmm, how come no taxpayer cases ever get lost when IRS hard drives crash?
---
From the "how come" department: With all the illegal aliens crossing our border looking for jobs, how come none are seeking to teach English to Spanish speaking students?
---
L-E story: "Columbus Crime Prevention Director Seth Brown will bring 11 grant proposals worth $680,000 to Columbus Council Tuesday evening, according to council’s agenda. * “Every time we do a cycle of grants, it’s like they’re brand new,” Brown said. “They have to re-apply every year and the same standards apply. They have to have a board, have to be a 501c3, they have to submit financial records. They have to have to plan on how to achieve their goals and they have to have a budget." -- Hmmmm ...Why aren't all the agencies which state its purpose is to prevent delinquency, pregnancy, and truancy be locked in a room charged with coming up with one agency and plan to accomplish its purpose? That should eliminate all the duplicities of Administrative costs and overhead.

You know, even if the Republicans went along with the Mosqued man's immigration reform so illegal aliens could get American jobs, as soon as he signs it, he would be shaking it in front of mainstream media that the Republicans were trying to put the latino minors into sweatshops at minimum wages.
---
Online story: " When asked whether legalizing illegal immigrants would help unemployed Americans, Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D.-Md.) responded by pointing to testimony from the director of the Congressional Budget Office that Van Hollen said indicated enactment of the Senate immigration bill (which gave illegal aliens a "path to citizenship') would "reduce the deficit and increase long-term economic growth." * CNSNews.com asked: "Do you think that allowing illegal aliens to stay in the United States and putting them on a path to citizenship will help unemployed Americans?" * Van Hollen responded: “I think what we need to do is pass comprehensive immigration reform, and I just came from a hearing with the non-partisan director of the Congressional Budget Office, who testified that if you passed the Senate bipartisan bill, you will reduce the deficit and increase long-term economic growth in the United States," Van Hollen replied" -- You know.. it's not so much that Von Hollen is so dumb, but voters in Maryland have been dumb enough to elect and re-elect Von Hollen for 6 terms so far.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " America was formed on freedom from religious suppression of the Church of England and the Catholic Church. We are not formed as a Christian nation. We are formed as a free nation." -- Good grief.. the Christians who founded this nation have never been interested in making this a Christian (for that matter, any other religion) nation by government decree. Our Christian forefathers just didn't want any religion to be persecuted by government either. Trying to make the US "religion free" of any religion does that to all religions. Hmmm... just another example, one of too many examples, of a bad public education system.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "The world’s greatest teachers and philosophers, including Plato, Muhammad, Confucius, Buddha and many others, especially Jesus, were outspoken against greed. Perhaps rich conservatives should specify asbestos clothing for their burial attire." -- Hmmm... why are the people most interested in other people's "greed" also the most interested in having other people's money for themselves? That's "GREED"!
---
L-E editorial comment: "You might say Georgia’s teachers and schools are going to be graded on the curve. And in this particular context, the state’s education evaluation process probably should include a curve or two. * The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Sunday that a new report from the state Department of Education will reflect a change in assessment. Specifically, student progress — as opposed to just student scores or pass/fail rates on tests — will be part of the evaluation equation." -- I'm curious.. how can "grading on a curve" give any credible comparison of how a group of people.. students or teachers... have progressed?
---
L-E story: "It's called the consent agenda. It's a tool for governing boards to streamline meetings by bunching into a single vote routine items requiring approval * There's approximately 50 vendors being awarded millions of dollars in contracts that are not going through a competitive bidding process." -- hmmm..This demonstrates why we should get to vote on the complete MCSD Board every 4 years. The current system does not allow the community to hold the complete board responsible at one time.
---
L-E headline/story: "UNITED WAY OF THE CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY * ‘Stuff the Bus’ offers school supplies to needy children * United Way President and CEO Scott Ferguson said the drive had 100 volunteers, and 19 participating companies. So far it has resulted in 750 backpacks filled with supplies, which together are worth about $30,000." -- Hmmm ... $30,000 divided by 750 out of 32,000 students..How does the United Way pick 750 students to get $40.00 worth of supplies while 31,250 are ignored. Or, if you parse this a bit more, we have 31 of 55 schools designated as Title 1 schools. to be a Title 1 school, more than 40% of students are considered "below the poverty level". That's more than half of the total students in MCSD, so we're talking at least 40% of 16,000+ students in the Title 1 schools which would be 5,600 below "poverty level" and only 750 students are getting $40.00 supply packages. Wouldn't it be better if that $30,000 were given to the MCSD in cash with a requirement that the money be used to buy school supplies at Sam's (or other discounters) to be distributed to the classrooms at the Title 1 schools so more can benefit? Spotlighting 750 is a 'grandstand show" for United Way.

From the "somebody out there should proof L-E headlines" department - L-E headline: "Jekyll Island OKs sharpshooters for thinning deer" -- Didn't know fat deer were a problem...
