HuffPost headline: "America rings in July 4th with dazzling displays * From
the annual extravaganza in NYC to the nation's capital, fireworks lit up the
night sky as the country celebrated Independence Day." -- Most Americans... but
not Sgt Tahmooressi.

HuffPost headline: "Man Who Took Lifelong Vow Of Poverty Wins $259 Million
Lottery" -- Hmmm.. you know if God had a hand in this, the man will give it all
away... BUT...if the man had made a sincere, God driven vow of poverty, I don't
think he would have bought lottery tickets with the meager funds he had
available.

HuffPost headline: "Rise In Shark Attacks Expected This Summer, According

Online story: "NEW YORK (AP) - A(_*_) Cumia of the "Opie & A(_*_)"
radio show has been fired by SiriusXM, who cited his "racially charged" and
"hate-filled" remarks on Twitter as the reason.
SiriusXM spokesman Patrick Reilly said Friday that Cumia's remarks and postings were "abhorrent" to the satellite radio company. * In addition to racial remarks, they also included tweets and retweets that were degrading to women. * Reilly says the shock jock was fired late Thursday" -- Seriously? A "shock jock" was fired for "shocking actions"? Isn't Howard Stern on SiriusXM as well? Just proves that Political Correctness has gone to far.

HuffPost headline: "Billionaire Richard Mellon Scaife, an outspoken
conservative, dies at 82" -- Hmmm, "an outspoken conservative"? Bet you cannot
name an Al, including the (_*_) quadruplets, Gore and Sharpton and Colmes and
Franken, who have been called "an outspoken liberal"...and shudder Nancy
Pelosi....

Online story: "As the Giant African Land Snail invasion continues,
agriculture agents are unleashing a new weapon in the battle. * They’re big,
they’re slimy, they carry disease and they’re eating their way through South
Florida. * The “epidemic” that began in 2011 is showing no signs of abating and
state agriculture workers are on the job 24/7 trying to get ahead of the
population explosion, * So far, Fagan’s team has captured nearly 140,000 of the
snails * That team now has a new weapon in its arsenal. It’s using specially
trained canines to sniff out the giant pests" -- Good grief..
African-American-Illegal-Alien-Snails the government goes after.. Well at least
it is a start.. we just have to pray Sharpton doesn't start tossing out "racism
trump cards".

WRBL3 story: "A man is accused of animal cruelty after hundreds of
domesticated rats have been found dead or dying in a north-central Arizona
travel trailer. * Yavapai County Sheriff's officials say 28-year-old J*****
W****** was arrested Monday on suspicion of cruel mistreatment of animals and
neglect/abandonment of animals" --Cruelty to rats? Good grief... are we going to
have to register and get background checks to buy a rat trap or rat
poison?

WRBL3 story: "MILAN (AP) - Every day, boatloads of refugees arrive on
Italian shores. European Union law requires Italy to fingerprint them, so that
if they apply for asylum in another country they can be sent back to their port
of entry. Instead, Italy is letting thousands of migrants slip quietly into
northern Europe, with no record of their time in Italy. * The Italian Interior
Ministry reported 60,435 migrants arrived by boat in Italy this year through
June 30. A number of those are accompanied children who by EU rules shouldn't be
fingerprinted; Save the Children estimates there were 3,700. During the same
time period, the EU said Italy shared 43,382 sets of fingerprints. * Syrian
migrants in particular are falling off Italy's radar, making their way to
Milan's central train station in groups of 100 or more. They are met by railway
police, aid workers and city officials who offer food, a bed and - for those who
ask - advice on asylum. * Of the 10,500 who arrived in Milan since October, only
eight requested asylum in Italy, city officials said. Many others, after a few
hours or days in Milan, headed north with no record of ever having set foot in
Italy. * "No Syrian wants to get fingerprinted," said Shadi Howara, a doctor
from Damascus passing through Milan" -- Good grief! Can you imagine how many
Syrians are now headed to the US via Mexico?

Online story: "15 active-duty soldiers, two veterans, one reservist, and
seven military spouses, representing 15 different countries of origin, were
recognized as citizens at the event, the fifth of its kind at the White House
under Mr. Obama." -- And the Mosqued Man took the center stage to push
immigration reform...can you imagine how stupid those 25 now-citizens were
thinking they were for risking their lives to get citizenship, while they could
have just stayed in the shadows and waited for an Executive Order?

WRBL3 story: "Police in Massachusetts have arrested a man they say stole a
pack of cigarettes because he wanted to go back to jail. * Officers responded to
a convenience store in Westfield on Tuesday night where a clerk told them a man
asked for the cigarettes, and then walked out without paying. * The Westfield
News reports that when the clerk warned the man he would call police unless he
paid, the suspect said "Go ahead." * When an officer asked the suspect if he
attempted to steal the cigarettes, the man replied: "I didn't attempt to steal
them. I stole them." * Police said the man told them he was on probation and
wanted to go back to jail. He was arrested for shoplifting." -- You know...this
is more about what liberalism has done to our justice system.. no one should
leave a jail without feeling they never want to be in a prison again!

From the "I'm going to barf" department - Online story: "Facing criticism
from some quarters about her expensive speeches, Hillary Clinton said Friday
that every dollar she's earned speaking at universities since stepping down as
secretary of state last year has gone into the philanthropic work of her
family's foundation." -- Good grief... what she's doing is passing taxable
income into a less-taxed foundation.. her own at that... so she can take a
deduction against other income, and still remain in control of the purse strings
snd direct funds to 501-(c)-3/4 foundations that will benefit her politically ,
and pay less in taxes to the government she thinks needs more tax money to
redistribute to her voting bloc. Liberals are such hypocrites..

Online story: " The top jobs numbers for June would have seemed to be cause
for some appreciation. After all, the unemployment rate dipped to 6.1 percent,
the lowest in six years, and hiring showed five months of steady growth. * But
the public continues to perceive the economy as poor" -- Hmmm... wonder why...
why the public continues to perceive the economy is "poor"? Maybe it's because
the mainstream media is finally understanding that the all the figures the Man
of Steal publishes in those books are still being cooked?

L-E above-the-crease Front Page story: "Those hungry for a Big Mac and
fries who don’t want to wait in line inside a Mc-Donald’s restaurant or idle in
its drive-thru lane soon could have another option: Smart-phone ordering. * That
is, as long as you are in the Columbus-area market, which the Oak Brook,
Ill.-based burger chain is now using as a guinea pig to quietly test the
ordering system before a possible national rollout." -- About a week ago, one of
my blog receivers sent me a news story on this. Why is it just becoming a L-E
story... and on the Page 1 above-the-crease?

On a local note.. did you see the only 3 high schools that the MCSD was
still taking transfer requests for the 2014-2015 school year..
Kendrick/Spencer/Jordan? Of course the worst thing is that no one wants to
transfer to them, yet the MC School Office is staffed for the next 5 weeks to
take transfer requests only to those schools. What a waste of potential
classroom resources.

L-E's "Thought for Today": "“Without promotion something terrible happens:
Nothing!” — P.T. Barnum, American showman (born this date 1810, died 1891)." --
I may have to return to using my special moniker of Judas OO-Barnum! Just
imagine how terrible OObamaCRAP would be if mainstream media hadn't promoted as
America's "cure-all"?

L-E's "Looking back | Fifty years ago today, July 5, 1964" feature:
"Negroes Beaten At Wallace Rally *
* Three Negro members of a civil rights group were attacked and beaten in Atlanta Saturday at a Fourth of July rally during which Gov. George Wallace announced he will carry his campaign for president into 16 states. * A savage mob immediately surrounded the group, striking those they could reach on the heads and bodies with metal folding chairs and hurling other chairs at them from several directions." -- At least today's L-E is consistent.. yesterday, the L-E omitted mentioning Lester Maddox and his friends were DemocRATs, and today, the L-E omits that George Wallace and his friends were DemocRATs.

L-E story: " Last week, Mayor Teresa Tomlinson spoke to the Rotary Club of
Columbus about her vision for the future. * By 2028, which will be Columbus’
bicentennial, the city is going to have the lowest unemployment rate in the
state, a poverty rate below 10 percent, no homelessness and a graduation rate in
the state’s top 10 percent * When talking about her proposal for a new property
tax structure, she said, “I swear it will pass if elected officials have the
courage to let the people vote on it. * She didn’t mention crime, but while
we’re dreaming big, Columbus 2028 might as well have fewer homicides and home
break-ins, too.." -- Hmmm, but you cannot base that on prior results.. By the
way, Columbus voters HAVE voted on the tax freeze.. 3 times as a matter of fact,
and its initiation and confirmation were overwhelmingly desired by the voters.
and with $244K bathrooms are on her agenda, the next vote will be even a better
indication of the voters' confirmation.(Though we will have to look out for
Mayor Obamalinson trying to get an off-time election scheduled other than the
November general election periods.) Oh, BTW,, did you notice she didn't throw
the 200 MPH train to Atlanta in the mix.. But like her 2028 "vision", she's not
going to be in office when all this is suppose to culminate.

On another local scene as reported in the L-E: You know, if there is going
to be any full community support for a new school system use of the old, shut
down Claflin School, somebody other than "Rev" Richard Jessie is going to have
to take the lead. Jessie is damaged goods with his incessant made up slavery
tales.
