Online story: "The Maura Pally, acting chief executive of the Clinton Foundation, is acknowledging the global philanthropy made mistakes in how it disclosed its donors amid growing scrutiny as Hillary Rodham Clinton opens her presidential campaign. * "Yes, we made mistakes, as many organizations of our size do, but we are acting quickly to remedy them, and have taken steps to ensure they don't happen in the future," she said. * Pally also described the foundation's work with the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership, which she said received funding from a separate organization in Canada. She said that partnership does not disclose its donors because under Canadian law they are not disclosed without prior permission from each donor.
"This is hardly an effort on our part to avoid transparency," Pally said. * That partnership has come under scrutiny because it is named after Frank Giustra, a Canadian mining billionaire who has donated more than $31 million to the Clinton Foundation since the mid-2000s." -- Hmmm...Frank Giustra... the guy the Clintons gave the uranium mining contract that is under the control of Putin.. Now Russia has 20% of all the uranium mined in the US. The Clintons have provided China with missile intelligence that gives China the capability to deliver WMDs to our country, and have arranged, quite profitably to the Clintons, for Russia to have control of one of the leading inventories of uranium from which WMDs can be built.

With the 2016 election kicking off, anybody interested in setting up a pool to pick the date Hillewinsky throws Mauar Pally under the bus?

Online headline: "Bomb sighting prompts Israel to start airstrike * Israel's military said it launched an airstrike on its border with Syria Sunday after troops saw 'a group of armed terrorists' with an explosive." -- Hmm.. now that's what you do when someone crosses the line you've drawn in the sand..Netanyahu for President in 2016!

---
HuffPOOPOO story: "Michael Ondaatje, Francine Prose and at least four other writers have withdrawn from next month's PEN American Center gala, citing objections to the literary and human rights organization's honoring the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. * PEN announced Sunday that the writers were upset by Charlie Hebdo's portrayals of Muslims and "the disenfranchised generally." -- Good grief.. Islamist jihadists have won! When journalists kowtow to an attack on the 1st Amendment, journalism is dead!

Columbus' Council has been asked to approve $325,000.00 for ammunition.. You know, if our Public Safety departments use that much, you'd think criminals wouldn't dare stick their heads outside. Oh, and that fewer criminals involved in shooting would ever get to a jail cell.

We could use some more prayers for our city.. In the week/10 days, 5 nursing students from GA Southern were run down by a semi, and this weekend, a 20 year old took his own life in despondency over an impending vehicular homicide case coming up. We have three local families who were impacted by the death of the nursing students, and two devastated families with the death of the 20 year old young man.

"Get's it" L-E "soundoff": "Any college students who would protest the United States by desecrating the American Flag should be immediately expelled. Not for exercising First Amendment rights, but for revealing how stupid they really are." -- Hey.. no worries.. they'll post this stuff on Facebook and future employers will discover this before hiring them.. ain't justice grand!

---
Jonathan Gruber double,,, no, TRIPLE-extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff: "How much will a hamburger cost if the minimum wage becomes $15/hour? The answer is fewer millionaire franchise owners and a lot fewer workers receiving government subsidies. We’re paying for the difference now." -- Good grief.. public education has failed the future.. $15.00 minimum wage's effect on hamburgers will result in millionaire franchise owners closing down shops to protect their interests which means fewer jobs, more unemployed, more government entitlements (which is the Democratic Party goal to get more LIVs registered to vote) AND higher hamburger prices as you'll have to go to a fern bar & grill to buy one.

---
Jonathan Gruber extra-stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Looking Back 50 Years ago: “U.S. Steps up Viet Nam Effort.” A reminder of a terrible mistake, just like Iraq and Afghanistan." -- In the late 50's/early 60's, US troops were sent in as "police" to help the French which had let its colonialism cause distress in Southeast Asia.. (BTW, the French are screwing up the Ivory Coast as we speak). We did not go there as an invading force.. Kennedy then Johnson escalated our actions.. Iraq is another story.. and should be used in comparison.

Looking on my street today, as I took my two oversized garbage cans to the street, one neighbor had two bigger garbage containers, 4 or five garbage bags of trash/garbage, and one of the new oversized recycle cans. The neighbor across the street had even more "stuff", including an overflowing oversized recycle container.. Can you imagine what our street would look like if this array was doubled because of a single pick-up day?

That earthquake in Nepal... devastating... mainstream media is quick to announce that many countries are sending teams to help.. it must be a team effort in mainstream media's mind. OK.. how many are contributing dollars like American taxpayers? The list gets mighty short, but mainstream media will not tell this to their audience.

L-E headline/story: "U.S. Rep: Baltimore protests ‘could have been worse’ * U.S. Rep. Elijah E. Cummings said the violence late Saturday that followed hours of peaceful protests over Freddie Gray’s death was caused by a “few people, mainly from out of town.” -- Typical racist Democrat's "view" of things.. the truth is.. protest should have been civil which would increase public sympathy "IF" the police were doing intentional wrongs. Now, who was there to protest what Gray was doing that caused his arrest? Congressman Cummings.. heal thyself...heal thy community!

L-E headline: "COLUMBUS HOUSING MARKET LIKELY TO SEE SALES CLIMB * Expect rise in prices, smaller home inventory through 2016" -- Good grief.. this scenario defines a "blip".. people who wanted to sell earlier and didn't (or put homes up for rent) are listing their homes now in hopes to regain/lessen some of the losses had they sold under more distressful conditions. Just the average prices of homes sold indicate that the implosion was greater in lower priced homes and people who survived by not selling have h\more hope now. The graph shows this..
HOUSING MARKET BY THE NUMBERS
GEORGIA (Muscogee, Harris, Chattahoochee, Marion, Talbot counties)
2014 Homes sold: 2,190 Average price: $168,003 Days on market: 155 List/sales price: 95.22 percent
2013 Homes sold: 2,117 Average price: $161,332 Days on market: 166 List/sales price: 95.01 percent
2012 Homes sold: 1,958 Average price: $159,953 Days on market: 172 List/sales price: 94.56 percent
2011 Homes sold: 1,849 Average price: $152,854 Days on market: 158 List/sales price: 97.56 percent
2010 Homes sold: 1,783 Average price: $158,639 Days on market: 141 List/sales price: 95.31 percent
2009 Homes sold: 1,849 Average price: $162,679 Days on market: 130 List/sales price: 95.92 percent
ALABAMA (Russell and Lee counties)
2014 Homes sold: 868 Average price: $150,889 Days on market: 147 List/sales price: 96.88 percent
2013 Homes sold: 993 Average price: $146,575 Days on market: 144 List/sales price: 96.23 percent
2012 Homes sold: 1,045 Average price: $150,718 Days on market: 145 List/sales price: 96.78 percent
2011 Homes sold: 1,122 Average price: $156,506 Days on market: 136 List/sales price: 97.47 percent
2010 Homes sold: 1,101 Average price: $153,811 Days on market: 138 List/sales price: 97.21 percent
2009 Homes sold: 1,209 Average price: $150,656 Days on market: 128 List/sales price: 97.57 percent
More than 5 months on the market averages is not a healthy sign or market.

Soapbox moment: Mainstream media and liberal cartoonist/commentators are trying to destroy the protection we want.. expect from our police officers.. Isolated incidences.. whether intentional or not, does not define our nations police officers' value to each of us as citizens. Adding to the problem is the way mainstream media has stirred up street violence with its "lynch mob mentality".. the right to due process by officers is vital, but officers, good or bad, are also entitled to such. I look back at that well publicized incident of an Ohio police officer retreating as a double-murder suspected advanced on him yelling "shoot me". No policeman should have to feel threatened that mainstream media will lynch him for protecting the lives, including his own, of other people in the vicinity of a criminal.

In an interview posted in the L-E with a local individual, a basic identity form is filled out one of the questions asks what the respondents "favorite quote" is/was: Today's respondent answered: " Favorite quote: I always come back to the words of my mother: “Treat others as you would want to be treated.” -- Hmmm. guess his mother was a more ardent reader of the Bible..

In the above interview/story, the number of 25,000 users is mentioned for 2014.. That's a lot larger than the number range I remember being reported as fee paid.. Guess either there's a St Francis-like "accounting error" OR, there are more people using their own rafts and kayaks for free than are booking trips that are paid.
