Hank Johnson, D-GA4, Mr. "we gonna tip that island over if we stock up our military equipment" himself, took to the floor of the House to lambaste our nations police officers... again. Johnson said, "“People around the country agree that police killings undermine the efforts of good police and break the trust between police and their communities. * “The challenges black men face are real, but I was humbled to learn how unequal justice affects black women. Black women are the fastest growing prison population and their stories must be told if we are going to break this trend. “Mr. Speaker, it is open season on all Americans.” -- You know... police officers are not the problem in most cases.. in fact, very few cases.. If "all Americans" were taught to respect our laws, our neighbors, and the uniforms of law enforcement officers, prison populations would drop, our courts would be smoother running, the streets of cities would be safe to walk, and confrontations between citizens/"guests" would be minimal.

Does anyone believe the investment ad by TYJYoung.com that in 2008 none of its investors lost money? I find it hard to accept that every TYJYoung.com investors were 100% invested with this company, and TYJYoung.com is such a "market timer" that his company had every one "short" in bad markets, and "long" in "bull markets".

From the "it could happen to you, too" department: After my experience at McDonald's (Bradley Park Drive in Columbus, GA) yesterday, I'm getting a grasp on revenue/sales problems the corporation is having. Following a busy early morning "getting things done" tour preparing to take off to Athens for a night, I pulled into the McD's "drive through" and ordered a breakfast sandwich. After the sticker shock of it now being $3.45 (w/tax), I pulled into the pay/pick-up line. As I slowly inched up the way, I noticed on car already pulled ahead of the pick-up window obviously waiting for their order. Two more cars in front of me got their orders and pulled off, and that earlier mentioned car was still waiting. I gave my money to the nice window clerk, and she cheerfully asked me to pull up as my order wasn't ready. I shook my head in disbelief.. There had been more than enough time for my order to be cooked as I was inching along the way outside, and obviously I had been faster at arriving to the pick-up window before my sandwich did. I said (as I was still looking at the waiting car now just in front of me and still waiting), "No:.. In fact, just give me a refund, She then left, I guess to ask her manager about "refunds". When she finally came back, she had a bag with her, and tried to just hand it to me. Again, I said, "No thanks" I want my refund." Then she asked me to pull up as it would take time to do the paperwork. I said, "No way... besides there being a car still waiting just in front of me, and I couldn't "pull up" any further, I was in a hurry. She left again. A McD's employee, carrying a bag of food, suddenly appeared in front of the car waiting in front of me. I thought, well, that car is finally getting its order.. but I was wrong.. she crossed the parking lot to ANOTHER car waiting instead! The girl then appeared at my window and unceremoniously handed me my money back. I pulled out and drove off.. That car waiting was still waiting.

Hey, Columbus, has your tap water been as warm as ours is? When we cut on the "cold water". it's warmer than tepid. I wanna see my gas bill to be lower next time, as we barely have to turn on the "hot water" in our shower.

L-E headline: "Man stabs several people at Jerusalem gay pride parade" -- I really wasn't expecting to see any kind of story about a "gay pride parade" in Israel, in any Mid-East country for that matter, but it makes me wonder if one is scheduled for Tehran, Iran under Sharia law?

Online story: "Mullah Mohammad Akhtar Mansoor, who has been tapped to succeed Mullah Mohammad Omar as the Taliban's leader, is said to have close ties with authorities in Pakistan. * Mullah Mansoor's closeness to Islamabad could be crucial to Afghanistan's future. It places him in a good position to revive peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban hosted earlier this month by Pakistan, which in recent months has moved to improve relations with Afghanistan. Those talks were indefinitely postponed after Mullah Omar's death was announced this week. * But Mullah Mansoor faces a challenge: can he keep the Taliban united and rein in hard-liners who want to continue the 14-year insurgency, now that U.S. and NATO forces have stepped back? Or will the Taliban splinter?" -- And the Hydra rises.. now with two heads rather than one.

Online story: "Plane crashes are generally understood to be a bad thing, but NASA is now in the habit of crashing planes on purpose. * In an effort to build a better emergency alert system, a team at NASA's Langley Landing and Impact Research Facility outside Norfolk, Virginia recently dropped a Cessna 172 from 100 feet in the air. *The planned plane crashes are tests developed to help improve the durability of on-board emergency locator transmitters, or ELTs, in the event of a general aviation accident." -- ""NASA"? I s NASA going to start using Cessnas as Mars landing vehicles? Shouldn't test like this be conducted by the NTSB or the FAA?

Online headline: "Authorities hunt men who planted Confederate flags around Atlanta church where MLK preached" -- Good grief... why didn't officials just take them down, dispose of them, and go about their business. Now, a mountain has replaced a mole hill, as obviouslyy the culprits were looking for "15 minutes of fame", and mainscream media is giving them days, maybe weeks worth of publicity.

From the L-E's "Today in history" feature: "In 1972, Democratic vice-presidential candidate Thomas Eagleton withdrew from the ticket with George McGovern following disclosures that Eagleton had once undergone psychiatric treatment." -- Well.. the history rewriters are hard at work.. the Eagleton issue was more about his "electrical shock treatments". Of course, history proved Eagleton was saner than most Democrats as he walked away from the disaster of being buried with McGovern like Shriver did.

L-E story: "Phenix City Police are searching for the 220-pound man who allegedly robbed the Liberty gas station at 310 Seale Road today at 6:45 a.m." -- Good grief.. this story has two picturews catching him red-handed, and the L-E still calls it an "alleged" robbery?

From the "what an asinine question" department - L-E headline: "Why are so many people in jail?" -- Good grief... they've been caught committing CRIMES!

Online headline/story: "Taxpayers may foot legal bills for NY prison escape * Authorities said Wednesday they are investigating if residents will have to pay Joyce Mitchell's legal tab as she faces up to seven years behind bars. * Mitchell, 51, who was a prison tailor shop supervisor at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York, and her husband both held prison jobs that paid $57,697 a year. * Still, her attorney is court appointed and local authorities are investigating whether taxpayers must pay her legal bills" -- "whether taxpayers must pay her legal bills"? This is going too far... WAY TOO FAR!

---
From above story: "A manhunt estimated to cost more than $20 million ended in late June with escapees Richard Matt, 49, shot and killed and David Sweat, 35, shot and captured" -- Maybe some justice might come out of this... taxpayers may revolt and demand that weapon violent criminals get the death penalty... automatically. This would accomplish so much more than letting violent people mill around, build up additional frustrations, and devoting themselves to planning escapes and vengeance. ... hmmm, and not to mention the savings dividend of reduced crimes (as potential criminals see what their fate will be), and reduced needs for more prisons and $57,000 a year seamstresses.

Now a dentist in Minnesota is being scourged for shooting a lion.. he probably deserves it based on the early info, but, as usual, mainscream media is publicly convicting him, and supporting lynch mob mentality protestors. Soon, "Lion lives matter" will join the "Paws up * don't shoot" signs. Eventually Hillewinsky will show up with her own supporters carrying "Liars lives matter" signs.

---
Good grief.. I just ran across this HuffPOOPOO headline after I commented on the dentist's plight above: HuffPOOPOO headline: "We Weep For African Lions. But What About Black Lives?" -- I guess since it wasn't a "black lion", it didn't matter as much. Wanna guess what race the two HuffPOOPOO writers are?

You know, there's more probability that life was on Mars at one time and disappeared as the sun cooled which, in turn, made Earth become habitable by the forms we recognize as life than the sun heating up and becoming too hot for Earth and just right for Mars to become habitable. Online story: "Donations to the Clinton Foundation by Swiss bank UBS increased tenfold after Hillary Clinton intervened to settle a dispute with the IRS early in her tenure as secretary of state, according to a published report.

According to the Wall Street Journal, total donations by UBS to the foundation grew from less than $60,000 at the end of 2008 to approximately $600,000 by the end of 2014. The Journal reports that the bank also lent $32 million through entrepreneurship and inner-city loan programs it launched in association with the foundation, while paying former President Bill Clinton $1.5 million to participate in a series of corporate question-and-answer sessions with UBS Chief Executive Bob McCann" -- ...sadly.. Low-Info-Voters will feel this justifies their support for Clintons, as they feel the Clintons will somehow be giving this money to them...

From the "Things you find on the Internet without really trying" department - Online story: "The man who could become the city’s 109th mayor was born Warren Wilhelm Jr. on May 8, 1961, in Manhattan, his birth certificate shows.

In 1983, fresh out of New York University, he petitioned a Manhattan judge to formally change his name to Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm, according to legal records. * And in December 2001 he petitioned a judge in Brooklyn to formally change his name again, this time to Bill de Blasio. * De Blasio’s name changes did not become known in New York political circles until long after he emerged on the city's civic stage. Even now, most New Yorkers do not know he has had three different legal names." -- Well, he certainly never has looked "de Blasio".. now we know why...

"An elevator bank was shut down so she could ride up alone, and then she was styled in a private area of the salon. Other customers didn’t get a glimpse," a source told the newspaper. "Hillary was later seen with a new feathered hairdo.” * While the Post notes it's not known whether Clinton doled out any money for the follicle fix, a typical haircut with the salon's owner runs $600." -- Yep... she's "one of us".... "broke"...of course what she's probably most embarrassed about revealing is that the $600.00 price is for a repeat customer's Senior discount.

Javad Zarif’s son, Mahdi Zarif." -- Remember Javad Zarif? * Zarif is the current minister of foreign affairs in the Rouhani administration and has held various significant diplomatic and cabinet posts since the 1990s. He was Kerry’s chief counterpart in the nuclear deal negotiations." -- Talk about "keeping it in the family"! -- Makes you wonder why this little arrangement was not brought to the attention of Kerry's Senate confirmation...it might have brought on legitimate "climate change"..

Soapbox moment:
Incredulous... that was the feeling I had when I read that Council had made a generous donation of $376,000 of our tax dollars to a local, already generously funded non-profit company who's executive director takes a 6-figure salary for herself.

The Mayor and Council cannot create a balanced budget on anticipated revenues, so it dips into our fund balance, and recently voted to stop one citizen service to save money in hopes of getting the budget back on track, yet turns around and donates most of theses savings to a local already generously funded non-profit.. Who are these people? If they want to donate their own money, I won't stop them, but this is tax dollars that are to provide services to all of Columbus.

To compound things, our Ledger-Enquirer is not going to be our watch dog because one of its own is married to the 6-figure salaried executive director of the generously funded non-profit.
---
Additional comment on issue above: And this is on top of what the Mayor has paid lawyers to sue the Sheriff's and Superior Clerk's office. You know, if those lawyers were worth half their fees, they would have known the GA Supreme Court would reject their suit UNANIMOUSLY (as in "LEAVE NO DOUBT"), but they continued on as long as their billings were paid. It's also in addition to the $700+ Thousands Council has donated to other non-profits from the Public Safety LOST revenues (annually, I might add). Where does Council get the idea it is a philanthropic foundation instead of the citizens' control committee for the best use of tax dollars for City Services?
---
You know.. having Trump as our president following Obamageddon might be the answer to our National Debt problem.. he could file a "bankruptcy" for all debt increases created by Obamageddon with his "pen and phone".

From the L-E's "Today in history" feature: " In 1956, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a measure making “In God We Trust” the national motto, replacing “E Pluribus Unum” (“Out of many, one”)." -- Hmmm... well, well, well... you know, in 1956, Democrats controlled both Houses of government.. guess Democrats loved God back then... what has happened?
---
L-E story: "CHICAGO — A Chicago man who served 17 years in prison for murder before being cleared of the crime has been shot and killed almost three years after being released from prison, police said Wednesday. * Alprentiss Nash, 40, was fatally shot Tuesday after an argument during “some sort of transaction” between Nash and his attacker," -- "some sort of transaction"? And Obamageddon continues to campaign for the release of "non-violent drug offenders".. or as I suggest.. "non-violent drug offenders....yet".
---
L-E's "Late laughs": "A NEW YORK man was arrested Friday for driving an ice cream truck intoxicated wearing only underwear and yelling at children. So on the down side, he was arrested. But, on the up side, he is the Republican front-runner. - Seth Meyers" -- Truth be known... there are no Republicans in NY.. a few RINOs, but this just demonstrates the depth of liberal mainscream media bias.

I tell you what, after seeing the GA DOT's interpretation of "improving" Moon Road, we are surely thankful Council did not let the GA DOT "improve" 13th Street through Lakebottom.

L-E story: "Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said Wednesday he’s gotten more than a million responses to his request for comments on how U.S. currency should be redesigned and recommendations for what woman should become the first female on U.S. paper money in more than a century. * Lew said it has been a “remarkable outpouring” of everything from tweets and retweets to handwritten letters. * He said among the “interesting commentary” are suggestions to replace some of the buildings now on the currency with more direct depictions of the democracy theme that will be used in the redesign." -- "more than a million responses"? Hold your horses, Lew! What is a "million".... it's less than 1/300th of our population.. it's less than 1/125th of the number of voters who did such in the 2012 presidential race.. In monetary terms. it's 1/18th TRILLION of our National Debt.. no, Lew, one million is not an impressive number when compared to reality. Heck, buying a million lottery tickets would only give you a 1-in-175 chance of winning

In a memory piece, Richard Hyatt has touched decades of readers with his column today in the Columbus L-E.. we are teleported back to simpler times.. read it...
http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/2015/07/28/3833211_before-jordans-we-had-chucks.html?rh=1

It evoked my own memories as well...I remember two things about my b-ball shoes...first, you had to "break in" your Chucks.. Wearing a new pair for a game was guaranteed to raise a motherlode of blisters. Each season, we started by wearing our "game shoes' a few minutes in practice to get the shoe bed molded to our feet so we could play hard in the first game. Once accomplished , that pair stayed in the locker until game days . Then, that pair became the off season and the next season's practice shoes while we broke in a new pair for the next season's games. Secondly, in 1973, I needed a new pair to start a semi-pro season..I dreadfully went to buy a new pair of Chucks. I went to Metcalf's, and as I contemplated whether to buy white or black, I spotted a pair if Aididas " Superstars"....it was love at first sight.. soft white leather low cuts with 3 Stripes. Shockingly, they had my size, (14) in stock. I pre-laced them and slipped them on. They were like gloves . I tightened them and as the padded collar firmed up around my heel, I knew I would not get blisters. I bought them and played a game that night in Chipola, Fl blister free. No more Chucks for me.

Follow up L-E story to yesterdays escape - L-E story: "nmate Shawn Doby turned himself in to authorities this morning on Hendrix Street near South Lumpkin Road, said warden Dwight Hamrick with the Muscogee County Prison. * Authorities spotted the escapee in the area around 2 a.m. and blocked it off with officials from the Columbus Police Department, Fugitive Squad, Georgia Department of Corrections K9, U.S. Marshals, Muscogee County Prison, Rutledge State Prison, Columbus Transitional Center and Columbus Public Works, Hamrick said." -- Whatever happens the rest of the year, our law enforcement turnout has eaten up all the savings from eliminating twice a week garbage pickups.

---
L-E story: "The Supreme Court of Georgia has unanimously dismissed the city’s appeal of lower court rulings in lawsuits filed against the city and its top leadership by Sheriff John Darr and Superior Court Clerk Linda Pierce." -- And what Mayor TomLYINGson has distributed to her legal friends to challenge them would pretty much pay for their budget requests.

---
L-E headline/story: "Council allocation will allow NeighborWorks to expand cottage program * Columbus Council allocated just over $376,000 Tuesday night to NeighborWorks Columbus, Inc., most of which will go to expand the non-profit’s Columbus Cottage program" -- Hold on! I thought we citizens had had our garbage service cut in half, but Council has just added more garbage than we should have to tolerate. Authorization to give tax dollars to a non-profit to benefit private citizens is just a tad too much. I'd like to know where such authorization is? Council has just voted out a twice-a-week garbage pick-ups to save $250--to-$500K and now has given away $376,000.00 in addition to the $700+K that Council has given to non-profits from our Public Safety LOST revenues.. Council was already working with a revenue-negative budget that had to dip into our fund balance savings, and now Council feels it can be generous with money it doesn't have. Damn I miss Red McDaniel!

That woman who was involved with the prison break at Clinton Correctional in NY was given a plea deal. "Now it's time to unite behind our shared belief in the extraordinary power of Scouting to be a force for good."" -- "force for good"? Good grief... we used to think of it as a "force for God...and country".. now it may become a Recruiting Station for NAMBLA

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Obama chides 2016 candidates for 'ridiculous,' 'sad' remarks" -- What was "sad"and "ridiculous" was Obamageddon's portrayal of a US president.

---
Remember when Obamageddon was running for president and said he didn't wear an American Flag pin and I objected. Now, Obamageddon occasionally wears an American Flag pin, and I object more to this than before. The American Flag used to be a welcome sign and feeling of safety to out allies, and struck fear in the eyes of our enemies, but Obamageddon has brought both of those groups together in a common thought process.. both think of it as a joke.

---
While in Africa, Obamageddon said that he would be turning over the keys to the White House, and wants to make sure he turns them over to someone who will be responsible....."responsible"? What does he know about "being responsible" about upholding our Constitution? On the other hand, he's been very responsible for the growth of racism, segregation, the National Debt, food stamps, healthcare premiums, surge in costs of education, super-inflation, and the US becoming a world joke.

Allowing a school assembly honoring high-achievers to open with a prayer made one Mississippi school district $7,500 poorer - and a student who sued $2,500 richer. * The Rankin, Miss., public school district was hit with the fine after U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves said it defied his prior order barring prayers school events. According to the judge, the prayer violated a 2013 court settlement that ordered the district to stop "proselytizing Christianity." -- U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves .. you guessed it.. an Obamageddon appointee.

Even after the Fiat purchase of Chrysler following the $12.5 BILLION dollar "bailout", the American taxpayers still were shorted $1.3 BILLION when the Obamageddon administration cut the lien reins. So.. paying out $105 MILLION still save Fiat-Chrysler about $1.2 BILLION from not being responsible for its past actions.

Can you imagine a US Marine... even a non-Muslim one, being able to have his sword drawn as Obamageddon walks by sans his Secret Service entourage?

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Obama holds talks on security" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought he was talking about his own..
---
Online headline: "Guantanamo Bay inmates may be moved to the US" -- Well.. put them in the South Chicago projects courtesy of Obamageddon and Hillewinsky.
---
From the "What, we biased?" department - HuffPOO headline: "Forget That Clown. Our Fantasy List of 2016 Independent Candidates" -- Hmmm.. HuffPOOPOO wants to "dump on Donald" while promoting a list that includes Oprah, Bloomberg, Legend, Colbert, Clooney, and Ashton Kutcher among others.
---
You know, the HuffPOOPOO may have hit on a major cost savings when it threw Sethen Colbert into the mix.. we could scrap the whole judicial system since Colbert feels each of us should define what we think is right and wrong.
---
You know, there's a reason Democrats want to separate God from the people...God has a plan for each of us, but Democrats feel they have a better government plan that overrides God's plan.
---
Online headline: "52% of Republicans Want Donald Trump to Remain in the Presidential Race" -- Hmmm.. you know, that's a better percent than Democrats feeling Hillewinsky is honest, truthful, and competent..
---
Online story: "Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., isn't making many friends among the conservative wing of the Republican Party these days. In an interview published Tuesday at the New Republic, he slammed the Tea Party, called Fox News "schizophrenic" on certain issues and called Hillary Clinton a "rock star." -- "rock star"? Maybe under Sharia Law.. where she would surely be "rocked" if she wore a pantsuit.

Online headline/story: "Black Man Who Tortured, Executed Two White Teens Makes ‘Black Lives Matter’ Speech at Sentencing * * He spoke: "“I’d like to say sorry to the families of Aiyana Jones, Michael Brown, Eric Garner and I want to apologize to them for not being able to get justice for their loved ones who were murdered in cold blood. And in respect for the peaceful protest I want to say hands up, don’t shoot, black lives matter. That’s it your honor. * “Jourdan Bobbish, 17, and Jacob Kudla, 18, were robbed, tortured, stripped, taken to a barren field in Detroit, forced to kneel in just their underwear and shot execution style in the back of their heads in late-July 2012.” -- Hey,, Obamageddon, Al Sharlatan, Pric Elder/Loretta Lynch.. does this black m(_*_)'s life matter more than what he did to two people whom happened to be white?

"Almost get's it" LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I think that people who pass out food to the homeless with no long-term plan are soft-headed but big-hearted. I just don’t like the government telling people they can’t pass out food." -- Yet, this is someone who votes for the Democrats because they want government to keep up entitlement and other give-away food programs...

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Malia Obama is living your summer-in-the-city dream" -- Yeah "summer-in-the-city dream" at OUR expense... in other words,, OUR nightmare,,,, She "interning" (basically "slave" labor) while we get stuck with the bill. Even if Obamageddon is paying for her, WE are paying for multiple 24/7 Secret Service bodyguards. Wanna bet Obamageddon will/won't confiscate the guards guns?
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Obama Unveils Ivory Rules To Protect Elephants" -- Who is this guy? I think that's the number 1 question Kenyans must be asking themselves..First he told them they needed to embrace homosexuality and its mutations, and now he tells them that he's going to restrict, even further, the sale of antique ivory pieces in the US, yet hasn't addressed the slavery that exists in Kenya, nor pushing for a $15.00 an hour minimum wage for Kenyans. No wonder Kenyan souvenir vendors sold American Flags hung in the :distress" mode.

These ads wanting money "for a/the cure".... they really have stopped having any appeal to get my donations..I'd much rather hear an ad telling me new methods are in place that are helping people " now", and they are working on other treatments.
---
You know, now that the Civil War has been stricken from the history of the US, isn't it about time that the NAACP, Al Sharlatan, and Jesse Jackson stopped asking for reparation?

L-E story: " A gunman robbed a homeless couple of a $10 scratch-off lottery ticket at the Chattahoochee River-Walk Pavilion late Thursday, Columbus police said." -- "robbed a homeless couple of a $10.00 scratch-off lottery ticket"? Good grief.. should there be a law that Lottery Outlets be required to get a Photo ID, paycheck stub, and proof of residence before selling anyone a lottery ticket?
---
Now it looks like there's Black Jim Blanchard Symposium, too. Although it was recently annpounced that AFLAC Chairman Dan Amos was added as a speaker, it must have been "too late" to add his picture to the posters and ads.

L-E story: "CITY ATTORNEY’S AGENDA
First readings: An ordinance revising Columbus Code Sections on annual leave (vacation), and sick leave to provide that such leave may be taken in minimum increments of one hour, to confirm the administrative policy implementing the Columbus Police Department Pay Reform and Restructure Plan, and for other purposes. (Councilor Jerry “Pops” Barnes)" -- While I'm a great supporter of the needs of our law enforcement personnel, I do believe this opens the door to every City employee for taking paid lunch hours, and sneaking off early (with pay) for long weekends. Council should tread carefully before going any further with this if only to make sure only law enforcement personnel are involved.
---
From above City Attorney's Agenda:
"An ordinance amending the “Official Street Map, city of Columbus, Georgia,” by changing the official street name for the section of public roadway currently designated as Gunboat Drive to Chastain Drive, to be one street name consistent with the length of roadway; authorizing the replacement of existing street name signs labeled as Gunboat Drive to Chastain Drive. (Councilor Mike Baker)" -- Excuse me, but are there TWO maps of Columbus Streets? The Google map I'm looking at shows the current Gunboat Drive starting at a Milgen Road intersection and connecting at a T-bone intersection at Olde Town Drive... and Chastain Drive basically being an Apartment complex access. Where is the "confusion" or "continuation" that necessitates the expense of new signs and new maps?
---
From the City Manager's Agenda:
" ALLOCATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT HOUSING ORGANIZATION FUNDS TO NEIGHBORWORKS COLUMBUS INC.: Approval is requested to enter into a HOME CHDO Written Agreement between the Columbus Consolidated Government and NeighborWorks Columbus Inc., to award Home Investment Partnership Program CHDO set-aside funds in the amount of $123,442.14 for the acquisition and rehabilitation of a single-family housing unit to resale to an income-eligible household. The set-aside funds are from a 2008 grant allocation that was not utilized and will expire if not committed to a project and expended by Sept. 30." -- "grant allocation that was not utilized and will expire if not committed to a project and expended by September 30"? -- Good grief.. isn't there anyone in government who thinks about the taxpayers and has the willpower NOT to spend money just because it's "there"?
---
L-E's "Thought for Today" “Most human beings have an almost infinite capacity for taking things for granted.” — Aldous Huxley, English author (born this date in 1894, died in 1963)." -- "an infinite capacity for taking things for granted"? Hmmm.. and never has this adage been so etched in stone as Low Info Voters believing the same unkept Democratic Party promises made every election cycle...
---
From the L-E's "Today in history" feature: "On this date: In 1775, Benjamin Franklin became America’s first Postmaster-General." -- Hmmm... and this was the last day in which Lightning has ever been associated with the Post Office.

Random thought: Has anyone ever accumulated how many parolees who served sentences for "non-violent drug crime" were 100% rehabbed and or never arrested afterwards for a "violent drug crime"?
---
L-E editorial: "One thing the recent Supreme Court decision manifestly did not do with regard to same-sex marriages is require any religion to conduct, sanction or even recognize them. The government can’t force gay marriage on any religion, any more than it could prevent any religion from conducting same-sex weddings or recognizing such unions even before the ruling, whether civil law sanctioned them or not." --
Just curious... the Supreme Court ruled that pastors are not required to perform same-sex marriages.. should that not also be the protection of bakers not wanting to make same-sex wedding cakes?

L-E commentary headline: "Leonard Pitts: GOP condemnations of Trump pure hypocrisy" -- Hallelujah! I can finally say I read something posted by Leonard Pitts that actually resembles the truth.. Of course, I'm not going past the headline because I pretty much know where Leonard "the" Pitts will take this. Now, if we could only get Pitts to be a "Pttis-Bull" and report the truth about Obamageddon, Hillewinsky, and the Siamese twins.. Jackson and Sharlatan.

Online headline: "Obama pushes African nations to treat gays equally under the law" -- Yeah.. that's gonna happen.. especially with Sharia law.. but what about the other issue... the biggy .... you know.. the slavery one?

The Pentagon wants legally armed patriots to stay away from guarding recruiting stations ....because..BECAUSE.. (drum roll please)...BECAUSE, they might discourage potential recruits from going into the recruitment stations.. Good grief.. who wants a military recruit who's afraid of guns!

Have you noticed that Trump naysayers don't refute what he says, just that he's saying what other politicians don't want to have to say to make a stand on those issues.

---
The latest news about her server has brought more heat on to Hillewinsky. Too bad she can't use the "heat/kitchen" adage as we already know she never hss spent her time baking cookies.

Seen the latest US Post Office ad? It asks," When you hear "Post Office", what do you think?" Where to start...I think "lack of accountability", " budget drain", "important lost mail", " broken treasures", and, of course, "slow".

---
You know..after watching the arrest video of the Texas police officer who took in the woman who killed herself, I think it should be a policy for arrests made with a dash-cam running to keep within the view of the camera. I know it cannot always happen that way, but effort should be made or the camera be one that can "pan" along with the officer's movement.

---
Hillewinsky promised she will answer questions before the Congressional Committee.. What she didn't promise was she would give truthful answers .

---
I heard a news anchor accusing Republican candidates of trying to embarrass Hillewinsky. What BS... Hillewinsky does a bang up job of embarrassing herself.

Wow! Just sitting here after finding out that the shooter in that Louisiana movie theater is some one I knew.. (as opposed to "someone I know"). Please pray for his family as well as the families and victims of his actions.

A couple of days ago, I mentioned bring able to buy gas cheaper in Florida than here in Columbus, GA. Another BCer wrote that he had bought gas for $2.32 in America, GA. Sell, yesterday, another BCer reported she bought gas for $2.34 in Statesboro, GA. Saw gas at $2.44 here in Columbus ..why?

Jonathan Gruber triple-double extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "If you dumb conservatives would support our brave president, he could do even more." -- Hmmm.. "if you dumb conservatives would support our brave president"? Hate to tell this idiot that all the dumb conservatives are already doing this... fortunately, there are no dumb conservatives.

Now it's the Columbus Black Rodeo... we already had the Black Coaches Asspciation Softball Tournament, 100 Black Men of Columbus, the NAACP plus Miss Black America, the Congressiuonal Black Caucus, UNCF, the Black Chamber of Commerce, the AABE, the Association of Black Psychologists.. the Black Educators, Black Accountants, Black Hotel Owners, Operators, and Developers, Black Journalists, Black MBA Association, Black Nurses Association, et al.. Now can you name me one of theses groups that is interested in diversity and integration?

Online headline: "Hillary: "Clearly I'm Not Asking People To Vote For Me Simply Because I'm A Woman" -- You know, there's a certain bit of truth there, but who's going to believe it.. what she basically is saying that she wants women to vote for her out of pity..

---
Online headline: "House passes bill to crack down on 'sanctuary cities'" -- How can any American taxpayer (other than government workers) be against this.. unfortunately, 179 in Congress voted against it..of note is 5 Republicans (well, RINOs) voted against it, and 6 Democrats broke from their party line and voted FOR America. Will wonders never cease?

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "What to do if you get pulled over by a police officer * Sandra Bland's mysterious death in a Texas jail came after a traffic stop escalated quickly -- know your rights and how to act if you get stopped." -- You know, "knowing your rights" is not nearly important as "doing the right thing at the time".. CO-OPERATE! There is plenty of time to exercise your rights after any charges or tickets are issued.

---
Online headline: "Ranking finds America's 20 most charming cities" -- Would you believe Baltimore.. yes, THAT Baltimore, made the Top 20 "Most Charming Cities"? What's worse is that NYC, Chicago, and San Francisco, bastions of civility, made the list as well.., plus Atlanta.. but not Savannah.

---
Good grief.. "LGBT" has become "LGBTI".. intersex? Wouldn't "LGBTC" , as in "Confused" be more descriptive.. When's are "P" (Pedophiles) and some more "Bs" (Bigamists and Bestializers) and an "S and M" (Sadism/Masochism) going to demand inclusion? Maybe just a single "P" would be more succinct..

---
We have the 1st Annual Black Rodeo scheduled in Columbus, GA ...advertising says there will be 200 black cowboys and 200 black cowgirls.. The official name is "Columbus Open Black Rodeo".."open"? Open, to me, means anybody, any color.

L-E story: "Saying “All lives matter” has become a political liability in Democratic circles, which says a lot about how influential blocs are shaping the 2016 political debate. * When Hillary Clinton and Martin O’Malley uttered those words recently and triggered the wrath of black activists, the Democratic presidential candidates moved swiftly to make amends." -- Well, if you want a politician that thinks "you matter".. regardless of color, vote for non-Democrats...

---
L-E headline: "CHARGES UPGRADED FOR SUSPECT IN SLAYING" -- "upgraded"? Good grief..what is this a grading system based on a "Bell" curve... the does that mean he gets a diploma without passing a test?

---
L-E story: "A United Nations human rights body raised concerns Thursday about Canada’s new anti-terror legislation, saying it could run afoul of international human rights standards." -- "run afoul of international human rights standards"?.. Hmm, then the UN can just RAISE the standards and Canada would be in compliance..

---
From the"only a liberal media can grasp this" department - L-E headline: "Clinton’s new idea for taxing investment gains goes back to ’90s" -- Hmmm.. a new sequel to Michael J. Fox.."Back to the Flummox"..

---
L-E headline: "The rest of MCSD schools get palm scanning to pay for meals" -- Good grief.. can't the MCSD teach anything but "stick your hand out and get food"?

---
Online story: "The Alabama Department of Transportation announced that they are banning the possession and carrying of firearms at rest stops along the state’s interstates and highways." -- Good grief.. why not make Alabama post signs at every road leading into Alabama so "we" can set our GPS route making software to find alternate routes AROUND the state of Alabama?

---
When the mainscream media finishes its purge of the Confederate heritage, do you think they'll actually be satisfied? Not me...I imagine they will then want to purge Columbus' Confederate Yankees from baseball's history..

Since it's in the news about Texas not providing birth certificates (and rightfully so) for babies born to women/parents who do not have photo IDs, I have a question as to whether Mexico would even allow a pregnant runaway American girl into one of its hospitals?

You know, why doesn't the Mexican government care enough to get involved with getting its citizens back when we are holding them for illegal entry? Mexico made Obamageddon jump through hoops before releasing Sgt Tahmooressi.

Today, Congress starts an inquiry into whether the Kerry negotiated deal with Iran is a good one..Wait a minute.. Kerry only said it's a good deal..but Kerry can't say it's a good deal for America ..

Why is it that Republicans cringe on the abortion issue.. ? If they would simply say they respect the fetus and women, but know that the relationship of a woman with her fetus is a relationship with God, and the only legislation should be in holding doctors responsible for the safety and well-being of their patients, and only address the extreme and gruesome aspects of partial-birth abortions as infanticide.

---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “People who jump to conclusions rarely alight on them.” — Philip Guedalla, British writer (1889-1944)." -- Hmmm.. this is another life truism that is not taught in mainscream media journalism classes, nor would ever cross the lips of Al Sharlatan...

---
L-E headline: "COLORADO THEATER SHOOTING * Jurors say death penalty can be considered" -- "considered"? Good grief.. he should have been put to death 3 years ago.. yes, it's been more than 3 years ago since the (_*_) did this.

L-E headline: "Officials approve 562 petitions for students previously denied diplomas" -- So 562 more students were given diplomas... wonder how the esteem is for the thousands of grads who EARNED theirs?

L-E headline/story: "COLUMBUS JOBLESS RATE RISES TO 7.4% * (Bill) Murphy (the chamber’s executive vice president of economic development) pointed out the Columbus metro area jobless rate rose in May largely because of 1,200 individuals, sensing the job market was improving, jumped back into the workforce. * People re-entering the local labor market could be the case as well in June, he said." -- Hmmm..so these 1200 people just emerged in June/July ... how about adding these 1200 people to the figures last season when they were still unemployed.. just not counted as such...

Kenya prepares for Obamageddon's trip with flag souvenirs in distress mode.

Online headline/story: "Report: Social Security disability fund to run dry next year * The 11 million Americans who receive Social Security disability face steep benefit cuts next year, the government said Wednesday, handing lawmakers a fiscal and political crisis in the middle of a presidential campaign. * The trustees who oversee Social Security and Medicare said the disability trust fund will run out of money in late 2016. That would trigger an automatic 19 percent cut in benefits, unless Congress acts." -- Ouch! Several things here:
1 - "trustees"? Trustees exist just like Algore's "lockbox"...
2 - Why does this shortfall only occur during presidential election years and when Republicans are empowered in Congress?
3 - There's no mention of how many of the 11,000,000 are illegal aliens.
4 - This is the section of Social Security that generates the most fraud.

Gas.... earlier this week, I mentioned I had been in the Florida Guld area on vacation and bout gas there for less than what we're paying in Columbus...Phenix City, AL, too, Yesterday, one of my brother-in-laws texted me that he had just bought gas in Americus, GA for $2.32 a gallon. The Columbus area gas stations are under to few ownerships, are gouging us intentionally (collusion?) and taking advantage of the public thinking the increases are all due to the new gas tax set-up.
---
Online story: "A proposed change in labor rules could force metro Atlanta employers to pay overtime to more workers * Announced in June by the Obama administration, the change significantly raises the pay level at which certain employees are exempt from required payment of overtime. * It’s all about how an employee is classified: Are you exempt from federal rules about overtime or not? When it comes to managers, the government in 2004 drew the line at $455 a week, or $23,660 a year. Make more and you are exempt, make less and they owe you for any overtime. * The Department of Labor is looking to move the line: Plans call for raising that ceiling to $970 a week, or $54,440 a year. A manager making any less would have to be paid OT at time and a half of regular pay. Comp time is not acceptable for overtime, according to the agency." -- Ahhhh.. gaze into my crystal ball with me.. I see assistant managers and junior execs salaries changed from a set salary which was set to cover regular and extra time, to an hourly wage but no extra time.. In other words, frontline management slots will increase, and frontline management opportunities to advance will decrease, and business expense will rise taking away potential jobs. You know, if the federal gurus are so intent on managing everyone's salaries, it should first come up with a plan that covers our frontline military personnel as they work 24/7 to protect us.
---
From the "bias is as bias does" department - HuffPOOPOO story: " Donald Trump, provocateur of the Republican presidential race, now plans to go the Mexican border, a flashpoint in the primary contest ever since he declared that immigrants (those honoring and following our laws) from Mexico are rapists and drug dealers." -- "immigrants from Mexico are rapists and drug dealers"? Good grief.. "mainscream media" has lost its way... Trump did say illegal aliens are guilty of such.. but he did not say immigrants. You know, the mainscream media furor is caused by mainscream media being outed for not addressing the real issues along our border with the American people, as a whole, nor Obamageddon and Hillewinsky specifically.

---
Online story: "The No. 2 Republican in the New York Senate was found guilty Wednesday of lying to the FBI, a felony conviction that will cost him his seat. * A federal jury found that Sen. Thomas Libous lied in 2010 to agents who were investigating how his son landed a high-paying job with a politically connected law firm." -- Wiat a minute.. didn't the Court of Appeals just throw out similar convictions on former Chicago mayor, Blagojevich, because the Court of Appeals didn't think using political pull to get someone a job was illegal... that if such were "illegal", President Eisenhower and Chief Justice Warren would have had to be arrested, too? And since when is "lying" in a federal investigation a "federal offense"? Clinton would still be in jail ... and probably would never run out of jail time if each lie were punished.

---
Online story: "The push for a higher minimum wage gained momentum on both sides of the country Wednesday, with New York embracing an eventual $15 an hour for the state's 200,000 fast-food workers and the huge University of California system announcing the same raise for its employees." -- Good grief.. teen unemployment in NY will skyrocket from the awful height it already is in NY, and California teens (parents, actually) will not be able to get into California colleges... well, unless they are illegal aliens living the Democrat "Dream" program..

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Federal charges against Dylann Roof announced" -- Good grief.. tell us something we want to know.. to hear.. like when he will executed... better yet, that he has already been executed..

---
From the "ROFLMAO in disbelief" department: "Seattle’s $15 minimum wage law is supposed to lift workers out of poverty and move them off public assistance. But there may be a hitch in the plan. * Evidence is surfacing that some workers are asking their bosses for fewer hours as their wages rise – in a bid to keep overall income down so they don’t lose public subsidies for things like food, child care and rent." -- Liberalism just peaked.. you know, I learned long ago, sometimes, if you give a person exactly what they ask for, it no longer appeals to them as they don't know how to handle it.. Now we have three great examples of dissenters "getting what they dreamed about" and still not being happy.. the inflation driving minimum wage increases, same sex marriage, and the removal of the Confederate flag... Now what do Al Sharlatan, Obamageddon, Jesse Jackson, and Democrat politicians and the LGBT community have to complain about... how are these groups going to solicit donations when their causes are gone.. Hmmm.. a tune is running through my mind.. "I like it like that"....

---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Here's The Next Major Fight For The LGBT Community" -- See.. it neber ends!

---
Online story: "Immigrant parents living in Texas without proper identification papers are suing the state for withholding birth certificates from their American-born children, in a tricky case that pits Texas' strict ID laws against the 14th Amendment of the Constitution. * The suit was filed in May in U.S. District Court in Austin by a group of Mexican citizen parents living in Texas. The suit claims the state refused birth certificates for 23 children because the parents could not provide the proper photo identification under state law." -- "parents could not provide the proper photo identification under state law"? "pits Texas' strict ID laws against the 14th Amendment of the Constitution"? Well it ought to be a FEDERAL law, and such issue would be eliminated if illegal aliens crossed our borders following set immigration laws and procedures. The last I heard, the Constitution was set in place to protect the interests and rights of American citizens and their legal guests.

---
Online headline/story: "GA tax revenue secrecy frustrates local leaders * “Transparency” is the word on the lips of Rome and Floyd County leaders after the revelation they must repay $4.5 million to the state in overpaid sales taxes. * Local officials haven’t seen detailed calculations proving that $4.5 million is, in fact, the correct amount owed. They only learned days ago that over $1 million of the $4.5 million is 12 percent compounded interest since 2005. * Rome City Manager Sammy Rich has called that interest an “insult to injury.” * The city may have little choice in repaying its money, as the state collects sales tax from local businesses and remits it to local governments. The money’s already in state hands. * The law is different for property owners who overpay county governments. A land owner who discovers he’s overpaid his property tax is entitled to only three years of back payments. No such statute of limitations exists for a business overpaying its sales tax, Hoyt said." -- Hmmm... lotsa Columbus issues here, too.. where to begin..first, there's local issues.. why are two equal 1% taxes not receiving identical monthly amounts.. The original City LOST and any MCSD SPLOST.. both are 1% of all retail sales, yet monthly/annual income differs. The second City LOST has exclusions for hotel/motel and car sales so it is less than the other two taxes, but why aren't the other two taxes generating the same amount? Secondly.. why are tax overpayment not the same for businesses as private citizens.. businesses DO NOT PAY sales taxes.. their customers pay them and the businesses just collect them.. in fact, the businesses get paid by the state to collect such, so the private citizen is not getting the full worth of the money he/she has to pay to buy necessities.
---
If what I'm seeing on the Whittlesey Road widening is what we're gonna get.. we've been sold a bill of goods.. well, more accurately, a bill of "bads".. 6 months over time plus $1,000,000.00 over costs, and we're getting a configuration that looks like it was designed by a kindergarten art class.

Kenya is "leaking" Obamageddon's itinerary.. actually twice so far...maybe Kenya is trying to send Obamageddon a message....persona non grata....

L-E story: "Police have captured one of two alleged robbers who supposedly shot a man in his Carson Drive home on April 24. * Joseph Johnson, 33, appeared in Recorder's Court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to first-degree home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. * Columbus Police Sgt. Lance Deaton said a man was in his Carson Drive home ironing clothes when Johnson and an unidentified man entered his residence at about 10:15 a.m. The offenders held him and several other occupants at gunpoint and threatened them, the detective testified * Johnson allegedly shot the man once — at close range — in the chest and the other offender supposedly shot the victim once in the leg. * The shooting caused permanent damage to the man's leg, the detective testified." -- L-E story: "According to the Department of Correction's website, Johnson was convicted in Muscogee County for two cocaine-related crimes. Officials said he was sentenced to a total of 22 years for the March 2, 2007 and Sept. 9, 2002 incidents. He was released on parole Jan. 29, 2009." -- Sentenced after, I asume, March of 2007, and sentenced to 22 years but was paroled after no longer than 23 months (minus the time it took to get a plea bargain/conviction). I guess he was considered a "non-violent drug offender" before he showed he wasn't?
Oh, and by the way, who was the citizen who was shot and now suffers permanent disabilities? Pathetic reporting, L-E.. Pathetic criminal processing, Court system!
---
L-E headline: "Phenix City post office without AC for few weeks" -- Hmmm.. did anyone ask if possibly the electricity was turned of by ALPowCo as the PO check still hasn't gotten there?

Random, well not so much random as motivated by a tragic event locally, thought - Online story: "The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says drowning is the number one cause of accidental death in children ages 1 to 4. In addition, the CDC calls drowning the silent killer, meaning that children who are out of sight for five minutes or less. They also say having formal swim lessons can decrease drowning in children 1 to 4 by 88%." -- How does a 3-year old get to get into an all-ages swimming pool without "floaties" and a personal attendee? This was particularly sensitive to me as I have a 3-year old granddaughter who would never be allowed into even a bathtub without someone within hands' reach.

Online story: " Gun-toting citizens are showing up at military recruiting centers around the country, saying they plan to protect recruiters following last week's killing of four Marines and a sailor in Chattanooga, Tennessee." -- This is why our founding fathers were so adamant about our 2nd Amendment.. if the president won't protect our military, we can.... we must!

---
Just when you thought it was safe to get back into political waters... Blagojevich rehappens. There should be an investigation or the 3 Court of Appeals judges finances. I had finally unlearned how to spell Blagojevich, and now it's moved back in front of the memory line....

---
Online headline: "Congress tackles 'sanctuary cities' after SF shooting" -- Always "after"... somehow "sanctuary cities" were allowed to "happen" in defiance of existing laws.. Why didn't the DOJ go after those cities when this happened? I suggest that any Representative of a city on "the list" be removed and made to run for re-election and an election fraud team be assigned to every precinct in such cities.

---
Good grief.. The DOJ has dropped the ball... literally.. the baseBALL.. in the case against Barry Bonds on obstruction of justice in the criminal investigation about his steroid denial. Even Obamageddon cannot dismiss those charges based on a "non-violent drug offense"... did you ever see anyone else swing a bat with such violence?

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Alexis Tsipras Transforms Himself As He Sells Greek Bailout Terms" -- "Transforms"? Good grief.. who does Tsipras feel he is.. a Clinton and Obamageddon mutated clone?

---
Dueling headline: "Kerry: Complaints by congressional critics of Iran deal are ‘without merit’ * U.S. 'disturbed' by Iranian leader's criticism after deal" -- Kerry is learning that support of the mainscream media only works on stupid Democrat domestic policies.. It's not a good sign when American voters and Iranian jihadists are laughing at the results of a "deal".

---
Just got back from the Florida Gulf..It was strange paying less for gas there than in Columbus, GA.

---
Can you believe that Obamageddon blames ..no, STILL blames, Bush for the mess in Iraq because...BECAUSE Bush didn't get support from other countries before attacking Iraq? Good grief, this coming from a man who will not call ISIS a terrorist force, will not support Israel (our only true ally in the mid-east), and Bush having to rebuild our military from the ravages of Clinton.

---
L-E story: "A new report on child welfare that found more U.S. children living in poverty than before the Great Recession belies the fanfare of the nation’s economic turnaround. * Twenty-two percent of American children were living in poverty in 2013 compared with 18 percent in 2008, according to the latest Kids Count Data Book, with poverty rates nearly double among African-Americans and American Indians and problems most severe in South and Southwest." -- Hmmm... a 22% over all increase (double for African-Americans) under Obamageddon.. guess this is another casualty of raising the National Debt and not knowing how to create private sector jobs ..You know, one of the most disturbing figures floating around is the number of children considered "in poverty". What do the figures really show? In my opinion, it shows the abject failure of the welfare reward system for single parenting and the Sex Ed classes in public schools promoting promiscuity.

There's a poll out saying 62% would not vote for Trump if he was the Republican candidate in 2016. You know...this is not a condemnation of Trump ..we know 40 of those 62 are Democrats who aren't going to vote for any Republican, so only 22 of the other 60 people are dead set against Trump as a candidate. Like I've been saying, Trump is bringing real issues up for discussion and about 2/3rds of non-Democrats are listening, so which Republican will pick up Trump's message and learn to deliver it with diplomacy...that one will win in 2016 .

---
It's depressing that the Republican Party hasn't added 2 + 2 and gotten 4 when it comes to the attraction of people for Trump. It's about as simple as Trump having successes in life..real life... and being proud of himself. Romney would have won if he presented himself as proudly as Trump but the Republican hierarchy gagged him and made him seem apologetic for being successful.

---
With so many choices in the Republican chase for the presidential nomination, you'd think one of them could diplomatically reflect the messages being championed by Trump. None of them will be electable in November of 2016 if all they do is address each others' "faults" rather than just expound on how they can bring solutions to our nation if elected.

---
John Kasich has had the best "coming out" speech of all the other Republican politicians. He may be the electable Republican to take Trump's bravado and guts to the nation.

Following the videos showing Planned Parenthood body part sellers, there are calls for politicians to give the donations received from Planned Parenthood back. Back? Those donations ought to be refunded to the taxpayers!

---
L-E story: "A 51-year-old Columbus man told authorities that someone shot him early this morning outside of Wilson Apartments at 3400 8th Ave., according to a report. * Columbus Police said they were called to the apartment complex immediately after the 2:58 a.m. incident." -- "apartment complex"? You know.. there should be some sort of curfew hour for public housing projects.. there's no reason families living there should be subject to 3:00 AM activities.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “Life is the art of drawing without an eraser.” — John W. Gardner, American government official (1912-2002). -- Hmmm.. now we know why liberals want to live life with other people's money...
---
From the L-E's "Today in History" feature: " In 1975, the U.S. House of Representatives joined the Senate in voting to restore the American citizenship of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. (President Gerald R. Ford signed the measure on Aug. 5.)" -- Hmmm.. let's look at the break down of politics in 1975: The US Senate had 60 Democrats plus an Independent that caucused with them.. the US House had 291 Democrats (Only 10 votes in Congress opposed the bill) and Republicans had 144.. Of the 26 Senators representing the Secessionist Stares, 19 were Democrats, and in the House, 12 of the Secessionist States had Democrat majorities (and the 13th, Virginia, had a 5-5 split). Only 10 votes in Congress opposed the bill. Why are Republicans being scape-goated on this issue when Democrats were always responsible for the problems?

Online story: "At the United Nations, the Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution that was negotiated as part of the agreement reached in Vienna between Iran and the six powers. * In return for lifting the U.S., EU and U.N. sanctions that have crippled its economy, Iranmust accept long-term limits on the nuclear program that the West suspected was aimed at creating an atomic bomb, but which Tehran says is peaceful. * U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power said the deal would make the world "safer and more secure"." -- "deal would make the world safer and more secure"? Good grief.. this makes as much sense as former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis giving convicted murderer Willie Horton a weekend furlough because he promised to be good and be back on time.

Remember that white woman who convinced the Spokane Washington NAACP she was black, but was outed by her white parents? Well, she's writing a book... wonder what color of ink she'll choose?

---
You know, Obamageddon wants a new law to prohibit mentally incapacitated people on Social Security from owning guns... doesn't he know it's already against the law for those with diminished mental capacities to buy/own guns?

---
Online headline: "Lockheed to buy Sikorsky for $9 billion" -- Hmmm... Trump is worth more than Sikorsky..

---
Online headline: "Millionaire Zappos CEO lives in a trailer with his llama" -- Guess two things are inevitable... a new genre of jokes about "Yo llama is", and a new Supreme Court challenge of the marriage concept...

---
Online story: "A picture of a black police chief officer helping a white supremacist to safety has gone viral.
* The image shows Leroy Smith, the director of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, compassionately carrying a Confederate flag supporter wearing a swastika T-shirt to shelter, after he suffered a heat stroke during a KKK Rally." -- Good grief.. the next round of mainscream media historical rewrites will be to have Hitler wrapped in a Confederate flag at Auschwitz saluting Nathan Bedford Forrest.

---
HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "After The Bailout, Greeks Learn How To Live With Steep Taxes * he government of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has had to enact a series of confidence-building measures, the biggest of which was a steep increase in the sales tax from 13 to 23 percent." -- Good grief.. Greeks aren't going to learn to live with steep taxes, they are going to learn how "TO LEAVE" stiff taxes...This reminds me so much of Clinton in 1993... stepping up to the microphone and telling all those entitlement voters that not only could he not find a way to cut taxes, but that he would have to raise them instead...
---
Online story: "The home appliance industry has a problem with the Obama administration's new dishwasher regulations * The recent proposal from the Department of Energy is meant to boost dishwasher efficiency by setting stricter limits on the amount of water each dishwasher can use, among other changes. Under the plan, washers could use only 3.1 gallons (The DOE passed similar regulations in 2012 that reduced usage from 6.5 gallons to 5 gallons) of water for a single load. * But an appliance industry group says the new measures would be counterproductive -- as they'd force users to run their dishwashers more, and hand-wash, just to get the same results, in turn using more water." -- Hmmm.. so Obamageddon is basically reducing water usage in cleaning dishes (a real health issue) to less than half what was used before he was elected...what will happen is that more chemicals will be concentrated into the dishwashing liquids/pods to get dishes clean, and that means more chemicals will be disbursed into the waste waters that go back into the water supply which, in turn, will need more chemicals to treat when it is recycled into the drinking water. This is what happens when liberals try to solve problems they have invented.

After thought on above item: "You'd almost think that Obamageddon wants more sick people so OObamaCRAP will look successful.
---
Online story: " Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, one week after launching his bid for the 2016 presidential nomination, signed a bill Monday that outlaws non-emergency abortions at or beyond 20 weeks of pregnancy." -- You know... while this is a pretty reasonable compromise but it's still not one the Republicans need to be trying to legislate... abortion should be a subject matter between a woman.. or couple.. with God, not their legislators or District Attorneys, and doctors should have latitude (and the ultimate medical responsibility) to care for their patients' needs.. we never need to recreate the "back alley, rusty coat-hanger environment" of the past. Republicans should focus on economic and safety issues that aren't triggers for single issue voters.

Retake: "That problem about lack of chlorine in the Columbus, GA Aquatic Center...been thinking about that...it's such a new center, why wasn't it made with a salt purification system? In fact, maybe it was, and that explains why there wasn't "enough" chlorine ..so maybe we need to know ..either way..why the staff didn't know how to keep the pool satisfactory.
---
I wonder...you know that South Carolina shooting saw a ban on Confederate flags invoked, but has there been any Muslim flags banned because of the Ft. Hood, or the Chattanooga , or the Washington, DC Sniper Shootings? How about doo-rags in Chicago... are those banned?
---
While I was pulling hard for Jordan Spieth, the results of the "Open" more than pleased me..Zack Johnson of the USA took the playoff, and Jordan Niebrugge won low amateur and was wearing his Oklahoma State clothes and used his Oklahoma State bag rather than being a "NASCAR" type "billboard" for golf products.

Those CISCO ads...about your not spotting hackers...yet... You know, how can CISCO know for sure it has caught all the hackers from infiltrating its own systems and passing them on via its own software?

Online headline: "Democrat O'Malley Forced to Apologize to Supporters for Saying 'All Lives Matter'" -- Good grief.. why would a plea for civility upset Democrat supporters? You know, because the audience at a Democrat political rally is full of black activists and Pro-Choicers...
---
Online story: "An annual conference for state legislators is drawing more than 1,000 lawmakers from across the southern U.S. to Savannah this weekend. * WTOC-TV reports the lawmakers' conference is expected to have a sizable economic impact for Savannah, filling nearly 3,000 hotel rooms" -- Hmmm... 1,000 +/- politicians need 3,000 rooms? Sounds like more lobbyists and mistresses will be in attendance than legislators... business as usual?
---
Online story: "A harshly worded report from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division says the state’s Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Support, or GNETS, illegally segregates children with behavioral disabilities from other students in Georgia public schools." -- Good grief.. how does the DOJ figure reinstating disruptive, even criminal, students back in classrooms with students that want to learn is helping the majority to do just that? Maybe the DOJ is actually an acronym for "Democrat Overdosed Joke".
---
You know, the DOJ sort of reminds me of my Dad when it came to fixing mechanical problems.. if you can't fix it with a hammer, buy a new one.
---
Online headline: "Georgia hands diplomas to more than 10,000 people who couldn't pass the high school graduation test" -- Wow.. that's surely going to enhance employers respect for GA high school graduates looking for jobs.... NOT!
---
From the "biased? Who, ME..dia?" department - L-E headline: "Trum's ("sic" in e-print edition) self-paid presidential run means he's not going away" -- Good grief.. a politician funding his race without outside influences gets mauled for doing so.. on the other hand... we'll get to see mainscream media "sit-up and beg... and wags it's tail on command" as soon as he starts looking for ad space.
---
L-E headline: " U.N. Security Council endorses nuclear deal" -- Hey, while Obamageddon is on a roll. why not get the UN to endorse it's delegates pay their parking tickets and rent?
---
L-E headline: "New marijuana industry wrestles with pesticides, safety" -- you know.. it would be better if the marijuana industry wrestled with morality and legal issues.
---
L-E's "Quotable": “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” - Winston Churchill Former British prime minister (1874-1965)" -- Hmmm... Hey Democrats... Churchill meant what we earned ourselves, and donated ourselves... not taking and giving away other people's money.
---
L-E guest commentary: Doyle McManus: "For most of a generation, Democrats have divided into two broad camps on economic policy. There are “growth Democrats,” who argue that a rising tide will lift all boats; that was the reigning view during the Bill clinton administration under Treasury secretaries Robert Rubin and Lawrence h. summers. and there are “fairness Democrats,” who argue that the central problem is inequality. That’s the view of the party’s progressive wing, led today by sen. elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and sen. Bernie sanders of Vermont. as she began spelling out her views for the 2016 presidential campaign, hillary Rodham clinton faced a choice: Which Democrat was she going to be? her answer: she wants to be both. “I believe we have to build a growth and fairness economy,” she said last week. “You can’t have one without the other.” -- This reminds me of a 1962/3 political statement by the late State Senator, Floyd Hudgins. When asked the political bombshell question about a bypass highway near Cusseta, GA , which made a living being a speed trap, Hudgins responded that he had friends on both sides of the issue, "but you know me, I'm for my friends". Hmmm.. "growth or fairness/"yes or no"...", that's exactly what Hillewinsky is saying now.. only she's for herself.

HuffPOOPOO headline: "Pentagon chief on Israel: 'We can agree to disagree" -- Good grief... "agree to disagree"? That's what liberals say whenever they are asked to provide documentation or sources of information to support their "facts"/claims. Translated, it means you've asked me a question I cannot validate with fact, but I'm not going to alter my position because it means you are right, but I don't care.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Walker remains vague on foreign policy ideas" -- "vague on foreign policy"? Good grief... how would HuffPOOPOO KNOW what real foreign policy is when the HuffPOOPOO gets its position from Obamgeddon?
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Nigerian leader to talk Boko Haram, trade with Obama" -- "trade with Obama"? ooops my bad..but I was hoping.. in fact how about even throwing in Harry Reid, Pelosi, Feinstein, Ginsburg, Sotomayor, Kagan, Breyer, Roberts, Kennedy and deserter Bergdahl in to sweeten the deal...
---
Online story: "In 2011, the US ranked as the fifth most workaholic country, clocking an average of 1,768 hours per year." -- Good grief.. at 40 hours a week, 1,768 hours equals but 44 weeks which pretty much says either the average American either had 8 weeks of vacation, or worked 35 hours a week for 50 weeks and took 2 weeks of vacation. Hmmm.. that sounds more like it, but being an average American means that only about half the Americans are working so... working Americans are having to put in twice those hours of work to "average up" the figures for the Americans not working or even looking for work..What's that saying... figures don't lie, but government liars figure a lot.

HuffPOOPOO headline: "7 Things Jane Fonda Taught Us About Sex After 50" -- The thing she didn't cover was why didn't her parents practice n=better birth control, and we wouldn't be having this conversation...

Online headline: "Obama looks to ban Social Security recipients from owning guns" -- Wait a minute.. he and his Secret Service guards aren't in the Social Security plan! Also, most people who get Social Security checks are simply getting back some of what they paid into it... now, I could get behind those who haven't contributed to Social Security being banned from owning guns... that would include illegal aliens, and Secret Service Guards...and Congresspersons..
---
Online headline: "Taught to behead dolls: How ISIS trains the next generation for terror - US-led airdrops shower..." -- Hmmm.. sorta sounds something Democrats will want to add to "Common Core" ... let's call it "Common Corpse"..

After further digestion of the cost overruns associated with all of the City of Columbus, GA's recreational facilities, I think our Council should post the actual revenue figures produced by the city-owned recreational facilities along with the expenses associated with running each, and hold the "Dr"'s feet to the fire to come up with a plan to make them revenue positive.

Let's talk about the British Open:
Let's go Spieth!
From the "correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm wrong, then we've lost the last holdout of amateur sports and the R and A , and USGA will be out of business in rule making department" department - Now, while it's refreshing.. actually more like "exciting", that an amateur golfer. Paul Dunne, is co-leading the Open after round 3, I noticed two things that make me wonder if some sort of endorsement deal has already been made with sponsors that would rule out Dunne being an amateur.
1 - Did you see the golf bag that his caddy was carrying? This was no ordinary bag purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods, or one that the University of Alabama Birmingham provided.. It was a huge Titleist Tour model provided to PGA Tour professionals on its payroll. For sure, it's a cinch Dunne never has toted a round carrying this bag on his own shoulders.
2 - Though it started out cool, by the time yesterday's round was completed, most players had shed their jackets/sweaters before the round was over. Not Dunne.. in fact when Dunne was being interviewed afterwards... inside, I might add, he was still wearing his jacket zipped up to his neck so that the TV cameras would show the brand on his jacket and hat. I found this sorta suspect.. especially in the British Isles where being a gentleman around a golf course is expected.. gentlemen don't wear hats inside.
Other than that, great round, great tournament so far Paul Dunne!
3 - Did anyone figure out the color dress code at St Andrews? The caddies wore bright red and yellow "ponchos" with their player's names on them, and some wore Bermuda shorts, but nearly all the players were wearing black, white , or gray.

Truthful L-E "soundoff": "Hillary stated in her CNN interview that there was never a subpoena for her emails, but it turns out a copy of one from 2012 exists. Liar, liar, pantsuit on fire." -- Truthful for sure, but sadly, it's neither a revelation..nor, unfortunately, not a turnoff, for Democrat voters...
---
Hey, remember when Hillewinsky pressed the "reset" button for Russia? Guess she needed to refresh her command of the Russian language.. I thing she hit the button that read "ReStart" instead...
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid L-E "soundoff": "A reader called Hillary an “arrogant, lying crook.” That’s a good description of Washington politics in general but, according to Fox News, the lying crooks are all Democrats." -- Whoa! Semantics check! I do not think Fox call all liars in Washington "Democrats".. I think Fox rightfully contends that "all Democrats in Washington are liars".
---
L-E story: "According to police, the shooting appears to have stemmed from an argument between people in two cars. * Police say one man left his car and walked over to the other, a gray SUV, to say something. He started back to his car then turned and fired into the windshield striking the driver of the SUV. * A passenger in the SUV then opened fire but police are not sure if anyone was hit. * The driver of the SUV was wounded in the arm." -- How can an incident be described with such detailed yet no mention of details about the people involved? Do we simply have to guess race of the shooter and victim? Or did the L-E just edit those details out of the story?
---
L-E guest commentary: "Commentary: Philadelphia Inquirer * Soccer isn’t playing fair * Carli Lloyd was awarded the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player, and the (US Women's) team took home $2 million in prize money. * But wait a minute: That’s $33 million short of the prize that the German men’s team collected after winning their World Cup last summer. The U.S. men, who lost in the round of 16, took home $9 million." -- Nanny nanny poo poo! It's a game of salesmanship... Women's sports in genearl have not made themselves as desirable a marketing scheme as comparable men's sports.. there were actually empty seats in all the preliminary women's games... LOTS of empty seats.. if the money is not there, there is not much money to split up.. if women sports teams want better salary structure, then make themselves more appealing to audiences..it's basically that simple. Of course.. the women could go on strike.. but I don't think too many would care enough to make changes that just aren't sitting in the wings..
---
L-E headline: "Obama administration seeks to expand background checks for gun purchases" -- Welll, how about starting on the streets and in the parks of Chicago...one more law is not going to add any more impact than what is already on the books... but easier to execute death penalty sentences for shooting crimes will.

Today is July 20th - In the L-E's "Today in History" feature, we learn that:
In 1861, the Congress of the Confederacy met in Richmond, VA; in 1871, Bristish Columbia became a Canadian Province; in 1917, the WWI draft lottery went into effect; in 1923, Pancho Villa was assassinated; in 1944 an assassination attempt was made on Hitler and FDR was nominated for a 4th term as President; and in 1954, Viet Nam was divided into North and South. Hmmm. I remember July 20th from 1969 when man walked on the moon for the first time.. looks like mainscream media is rewriting history again..
