It’s not like the taxpayers have been ecstatic with all the efficiency our garbage service has been since former Mayor TT Tom-LYING-son ended our “twice a week pick-up service” to “I wonder “if” or “what day” different services would be". Let’s parse a bit: $3.00 a month times 50,000 (+/-) households times 12 months adds $1,800,000.00 annually in fees we pay… Now let’s talk about the “external audit” showing  from $2 Million to $25 Million to $45 Million lost in limbo (and no comments from… or about… our City Manager).  Wait a minute… could the raise in garbage fees have anything to do with the “formerly Golden Park” expenses we taxpayers will absorb… say for tons of free tickets like the City Managers office gets at the Civic Center?

One night a few weeks ago, there was a report on our Columbus, GA area (Manchester Expressway/River Road intersection) of a "wheelchair" (I'm thinking one of those sit-down electric scooters) and a car. There are still two sets of questions that need to be focused on concerning the assassination event of July 13th:

1 - How does a person fly a drone at a presidential candidate's rally site without being taken in for "vetting"? and 2 - How does an assassin KNOW in advance that the site he's decided on using will not be monitored by the Secret Service?

Columbus GA’s Mayor Skippy the Poo has really overstepped the laws concerning bicycle transportation in our town. By definition.. and law, bicycles are defined as vehicles with the same laws as cars being applied.. Now Columbus is assigning elite road way lanes that exclude cars, and allowing bicycle riders over the age of 12 to ride on many sidewalks (and the bicycle “drivers” don’t seem to have the same obligations to pedestrians as cars do.. In addition, unlike cars, there’s no proper registration/tags  nor mandatory vehicle insurance required.. and it seems that the Columbus Police Department must have orders not to enforce the vehicles laws on the books..

The Shicago School System shutdown schools this week and put undue pressure on parents of 320,000 students to rearrange their lives for a week to accommodate the Teachers Union desire to support the Democratic Convention.  Of course, the Union's "take" is, "it's for the children"...so  "the children" can learn about the Democratic Party... Hmmm.. yet reality says that 320,000 children will be on the streets and some 70,000 "convention visitors" will be here , too.. You know.. WTVM-TV9 Columbus, GA ran an opinion piece about it being way-overdue for a full investigation of, according to 3 different sources, $45 Million, $25 Million, or $2 Million Dollars being missing/unaccounted for in the Columbus Consolidated Government’s business licensing departments….This is not the first of such “missing/unaccounted for”  funds issue.. recently, some $5 Million.. and possibly much more… was absconded with by a group led by now convicted former Muscogee Court Clerk Willie Demps, and a number of years ago, some $2 Million was “missing/unaccounted for” at one of our landfill dumping operations. While we need to know “what happened” and “where is the money now”, one of the most egregious aspects is that someone in the City suggested that it was only $2 Million.. not the $45 M or $25 M reported by external and internal audits..  Good grief! How can the City Manager and Columbus Council retain such an employee that suggests that it’s no big deal that $2 Million isn’t where it’s suppose to be!

I think the “Homestead Exemption” factor is an important aspect of family life in GA.. but I thought it was limited to one primary home… apparently not in Congressman Bishop’s case.. he has a home in Albany, GA in his name, and one in Columbus, GA in his wife’s name…
