L-E story: “The city is really losing millions of dollars of tax revenue because of the hotel nights that would be purchased if the online portals were available,” McKoon said. “But since they’ve been taken off line, those room nights are being booked in other locations.” * Jack Pezold, president and CEO of Pezold Management Associates, which operates several hotels in Columbus, is adamant that the ongoing battle between the city and the online firms is damaging to his and other businesses, and to the city government itself. * “We’re just collateral damage,” Pezold said. “We’re being hurt, and being hurt significantly.” * It also estimates that the city is losing $5,308 a day in room taxes and other retail tax collections." -- If you haven't calculated yet, that would be over $1.9 Million dollars in taxes alone annually just not making it into our economy, and probably $20 Million in circulatory dollars being sent elsewhere.
