I really don't understand this concern of banning the belly/anchored putting technique. I tried it, but didn't care for it, but either method requires the putter to be "swung". I sided with the USGA when it banned Sam Snead's "straddle" stance simply because it left too much possibility for future variations such as pool cue putting styles.
