In an online story announced yesterday: "AUSTIN, Texas -- A store of ammonium nitrate is what exploded April 17 at a Central Texas plant, killing 14 people, injuring hundreds and devastating an adjoining town." -- After 3 weeks, someone finally guessed that ammonium nitrate was the culprit? Since it was a fertilizer plant blew up, and ammonium nitrate is a fertilizer of renown, I think most of us put 2 & 2 together the day of the explosion.

The HuffPost has listed and pictured the Senators who kept their sanity and courageously voted "NO" on the insane Senate bill concerning extended background checks for even guns passed down from father to child.

"Bing" this name, Penny Pritzker. One of Obama’s top fundraisers, Penny Pritzker is now the President’s nominee to be US Secretary of Commerce. She makes Rahm Emanuel look like a choir boy.

Hmmm:

This is the original cover photo of the Facebook Page maintained by the “February 17th Martyrs Brigade” which flies an Al Qaeda flag.

This is the original cover photo on the Facebook page maintained by the "Febraury 17th Martyrs Brigade" which flies the al Qaida flag. This is the militia group the State Department hired to defend the Benghazi diplomatic mission. The February 17th Martyrs Brigade, was paid by the U.S. government to provide security at the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, but there is no indication the Martyrs Brigade fulfilled its commitment to defend the mission on Sept. 11, when it came under attack. --

You know, if you have to explain what you mean when you draw a line in the sand, then no one thinks much about any other position you say you stand for. Judas 00-bama reminds me of the cartoon character Foghorn Leghorn... a bloated blowhard of a rooster... but a gelding version.

Forget the Internet state sales tax debates, everyone should be contacting their "Reps" about the proposed National Sales Tax being bandied about for Internet sales. Once the DUMBERats get used to a new revenue stream, they will only demand more.

A lawyer in Utah says all things must be considered concerning the death of the soccer referee who died after being punched by a 17 year old player. He said that if the DA prosecuted him as an adult, it would follow him the rest of his life. Damn right, and it should! What ref ever expects to be sucker punched by a player? Besides, if this 17 year old gets out if jail while young enough to father a child of his own, that child will be the subject of his anger and role modeling.

---

Republicans lament their plight because the DUMBERats seem to buy votes using tax dollar funded entitlement programs, but in actuality, low info voters are drawn into the perception the DUMBERats would take complete care of their "needs" IF only the Republicans would let them. It sure is easy for DUMBERats to make promises they can blame on Republicans' "class hatred" if the promises aren't carried out.

Online headline: "Joe Biden: We Won’t Allow Congress To Get In Our Way On Guns" -- Hey... isn't Bleep Veep Biden the VP of the whole country?

Online headline: "Chinese Scientists Create Potentially Deadly New 'Hybrid' Flu Virus" -- Who needs sarin gas?

You know, I'm glad to know our MCSD is actually looking into 'expense holes' rather than perpetuating such until they become 'sink holes' that drain our tax dollars into la-la-land. What I object to is the MCSD 'shooting from the lip'. Closing an old school, or opening a new one for that matter, should not be a spontaneous reaction; both should be a proactive spirit to plan for the future. Making decisions just to close/open schools without a set plan as to the use of the deserted property should never happen.

---

I am curious, though, as to why it has taken the MCSD so long to address operating schools at way-below capacity levels. I guess this is what happens when politics and getting re-elected are the main focus of board members.

L-E story: "Columbus High School is the No. 1 high school in Georgia, according to Newsweek’s and The Daily Beast’s anal ysis, which the news website released Monday. * The site highlights the top 2,000 public high schools in the nation, defined as “those that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads.” * Columbus High is ranked No. 105 in the nation. It is the only bi-city school in the rankings. Georgia has 50 schools in the rankings, including LaGrange at 50th in the state and No. 1,956 in the nation" -- Now, I'm confused... do we rejoice that CHS is the best in GA, or feel dumfounded that the best in GA is only number 105 nationally. You would think every state's 'best' would be in the top 50.

L-E's "Quotable": “How strangely do we diminish a thing as soon as we try to express it in words.” -- Maurice Maeterlinck Belgian dramatist (1862-1949) -- Wow! talk about nutshelling the emotion of Judas 00-bama voters explaining "why".

---

L-E editorial headline: "Past wrongs can be acknowledged, but never undone * Why does public atonement for crimes, sins and other wrongs of the past even matter? " -- I see someone who wrote this is obviously a stranger to the Bible and teachings of Christ. Being able to forgive, and accept someone's request for forgiveness is what has to be done to recover and heal. Either that or consider yourself sin free and sit behind a desk all day.

---

L-E story: "Starting as early as spring 2015, the ACT college admissions exam will go digital, reflecting students’ tech savvy and the demand for quicker results. The tests will still have the familiar multiple-choice options for college hopefuls but they will also expand to include interactive portions, such as a simulated science lab for students to conduct experiments or space for students to explain concepts in their own words. " -- Hmmm, and one of the choices will be "A- ROFLMAO" and another might be, "IMHO, none of the above".

---

L-E story: "One officer and two others were wounded during a shooting at Club Cream Monday morning, according to a Columbus police report. * Police arrived at the night club on the 300 block of 10th Avenue around 1:30 a.m. to assist the Fire Department with shutting down the club because it had become overcrowded. While inside the club, officers heard gunfire erupt in the parking lot around 1:45 a.m. * Bolivar Glenn, 38, and Sacorey Meelvey, 21, were charged with serving alcohol without a license and obstruction" -- You mean to tell me that an unlicensed club is allowed to open and flourish deep within the black community until an incident like this brings it to light, and there was no prior effort by any police patrol, neighborhood watch, or NAACP to shut it down in its infancy? And what about the landlord's responsibility to know what's going on in his property and whther they have a business license?

There was a nice article about the CHS boys' tennis team moving on to the next level... unless you consider not one of the young men who have earned their way there are even mentioned in the article.......

Carmike loses money and doesn't understand why... my wife and I love going to the movies, and do so quite often... or at least we try to do so, but more often than not, there's is literally nothing we want to see. Ee have varied interests of good drama, good entertainment and some frivolity. We've seen "Silver Linings", "42", "Ironman 3", in recent months, but horror, animated stories with overpaid voices, bathroom humor, and obvious children offerings are not in our sights. We love popcorn (buy the bucket each year) and share a large drink. We've stopped buying candy as now costs $4.00+ for a box available at Walmarts or Targets for under a dollar (it's hard to enjoy even your favorite candy when the price is not so sweet). We want to be entertained, not feel gypped.
