Online story: "Hospitals used to base prices on health care costs and on the need for profit that would, among other things, enable them to make investments in their facilities, Laszewski explained. "They became the baseline from which the hospitals started," he wrote. * But over time, hospitals raised charges in anticipation of negotiating discounts with private health insurance companies while maintaining their revenue streams, he said." -- This was from a story about different hospitals in different parts of NYC charging as low as $7,000.00, and as high as $99,000.00 for identical treatments. It goes on locally as well. Call and get a cash price at Columbus Regional and St Francis. On one procedure for my wife, St Francis wanted $2,500.00, while Columbus Regional wanted $21,000. (The doctor's fee was not included)

Online story: ""Obama's win in 2012, despite the important Democratic constituency of young voters not participating at a high level, is good news," said Michael McDonald, a George Mason University professor who specializes in voter turnout. "The bad news is that voting is a habit – and the fact that we saw turnout declines among younger African-Americans suggests Democrats will have to work even harder to excite these voters in future elections." -- Hmmm, could it simply be a 'blip', and because the young vote in 2008 was 4 years older/smarter in 2012, and no longer 'charmed' with Judas 00-bama or DUMBERats?

---

Online headline: "Dennis Rodman Sends Message To North Korea's Kim Jong Un" -- DOH! Rodman sends EVEYONE a message. Just wish it was delivered by the USPS so delivery would be late, delayed, or lost.

---

There was something on the news about a jury verdict for Jody Arias. Does anyone remember what she did? Hope the jury does?

---

Update: Online story: "PHOENIX (AP) -- Jodi Arias said in a post-conviction interview with a TV station that she prefers the death penalty over life in prison." -- Well, let's just skip the sentencing phase and go directly to death. Let's put public suffering to bed.

It's more than interesting that GA is reporting increased tax revenues yet in Columbus, tax revenues on the various LOST & SPLOST taxes are lower, not only from expectations but in comparisons to last year.

---

Speaking of LOST/SPLOST revenues, the City is reporting their shortcomings, but the danger lies with the MCSD continuing to plan to spend moneys that weren't going to happen in the first place.

---

DUMBERats seem more interested in showing "help" couldn't arrive for 2 or 4 hours so 'help' wouldn't have arrived in time to 'help'. My question is, at the time of rejecting 'help', how did the DUMBERats know that 'help' wouldn't be needed after that time frame?

---

Why do we allow DUMBERats on Benghazi investigative committees? They don't ask questions, but postulate for their time limit than ask witnesses if they agree.

---

The L-E's "Thought for Today": “There is nothing to fear except the persistent refusal to find out the truth, the persistent refusal to analyze the causes of happenings.” — Dorothy Thompson, American journalist and author (1894-1961). -- Hmmm, bet this is not seeable from the DUMBERat positions in the Benghazi Investigation chamber.

---

L-E story: "Two employees of Club Cream faced charges of no valid alcohol beverage license and obstruction during a 9 a.m. Recorder's Court hearing Wednesday following a shooting which injured three people Monday morning. * Bolivar Glenn, 38, and Sacorey McKelvey, 21, face charges of obstruction and no valid alcohol beverage license. * Fire Department Chief Ricky Shores said Wednesday afternoon that Bolivar Glenn, 38, and Sacorey McKelvey, 21, have been arrested for two fire safety code violations. * Both Glenn and McKelvey face charges for overcrowding at a venue and failure to secure fire safety doors." -- Wait a minute.. what about serving minors. Now we'll have to wait and see in the local NAACP charges this was a racially motivated arrest.

---

USA Today story: "As part of her ongoing campaign against obesity in America, Obama produced her first book, American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America, last year, but was too busy with the presidential campaign to do much to promote it. * Obama, who was dressed in a knife-pleated skirt of gold and black, with a black top sprinkled with an embellishment of sparkly flowers over the shoulders, did not take an advance on the book, published by Random House. All of her author proceeds, plus a portion of Random House's profits, will be donated to the National Parks Foundation, the White House says. " -- Hmmm, and why aren't the proceeds going against expenses of the White House exclusively... and does the White House pay sales taxes on what it serves in food preparation from this garden the Obama's are profiting from? Oh, and does the White House give a supplement to area farmers for "loss of business"?

We're still getting reports of more stabbings in the Bi-City area, but the reports fail to let us know if the knives are electric, automatic, or manual.

---

McClatchy headline/story: "Mohammed Morsi reshuffles Egypt’s Cabinet; 3 posts go to Muslim Brotherhood * The Muslim Brotherhood, the secretive Islamist society through which Morsi rose to prominence, now will control 10 of the government’s 35 Cabinet seats, a development that fed opposition complaints that the president is more intent on strengthening the hand of the Brotherhood than providing good governance" -- This is going on as Judas 00-bama and the DUMBERats sidestep Benghazi, and fund Egypt, Libyan, and Syrian terrorists with our tax dollars.

---

From the "which came first the chicken or the egg" department:

Seal of Cleveland or seal of Judas 00-bama/Organizing for Action?

L-E headline/story: "LARGE OUTFITTER BACKS OUT 3 WEEKS FROM COURSE OPENING * Nantahala Outdoor Center President and CEO Sutton Bacon confirmed Wednesday that his company, the top outfitter in the Southeastern United States, would not be opening a Columbus store as announced late last year. * Uptown Columbus Inc., a nonprofit downtown revitalization company that will manage the course, was informed of NOC’s decision Wednesday, Bacon said. The decision came after NOC had a team in Columbus running the river last week. " -- How ironic... the #2 company will have all the rights to running in #2.... Oh! And how much in sales taxes will Columbus get from all those Phenix City sales?

---

Guess the #1 Outfitter bought into the "BRAC" -type campaign of hype early, but not enough to sign an iron-clad contract. Oh, and #2 is dropping it's price points? Maybe the other shoe has already dropped.

---

L-E story: "Defense attorneys Mark Shelnutt and William Kendrick questioned whether school workers properly interviewed the girl, as educators are not professional investigators. " -- Hey, isn't Shellnut banned from Muscogee County by court order?

---

Low-info voter's L-E "soundoff": "Murder trials of Jody Arias and Michael Jackson’s doctor were covered extensively, but the doctor who murdered hundreds of newborn babies is barely even mentioned. Is it because most of those babies were black? " -- No... it's because mainstream media doesn't think Dr, G----- has committed a crime...

---

From the "let's rethink this" department: There's a charity named "The Brain Tumor Foundation for Children" . I have a hard time think about donating to something that is in favor of maladies FOR children.

---

Hey! Here's a solution for what to do with the Bomber Brother #1's body... enclose it in a pressure cooker bomb and vaporize it!

---

L-E story: "If you care about the future of the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries, then this evening is a significant chance to influence it. " -- I care... The "committee" has decided all three are qualified so only the salary matters now. Line'em up and let'em have a reverse auction on which will manage the library for the least amount.

After reading the line-up of summer movie offerings for Carmike listed in Chattahoochee Chatter, guess the bride and I won't be seeing many (if any). and Carmike may be looking back at the last quarter with envious eyes.

L-E headline/story: "Inventor Ronald Ace says ‘Solar Traps’ can meet 92 percent of the world’s energy needs * WASHINGTON — In a U.S. patent application, a little-known Maryland inventor claims a stunning solar energy breakthrough that promises to end the planet’s reliance on fossil fuels at a fraction of the current cost — a transformation that also could blunt global warming. * His claimed discoveries, which exist only on paper so far, would represent such a leap forward that they are sure to draw deep skepticism from solar energy experts." -- "Traps"? Hmm, the only "traps" I see are the ones set to bag tax dollars in the form of Judas 00-bama loans. Besides, do you think unionized GA Power will voluntarily go out of business?
