With the whitewater project set to open this coming weekend, details arise
again about the rise in expenses the City can expect. Take the preparedness for
emergency & rescue. This will be an extra cost on taxpayers, but guess what,
none of the whitewater users will be paying any Sales/LOST or SPLOST taxes that
would help pay for it... neither is the Phenix City based Whitewater
Express.

The Whitewater Project has about $25,000,000.00 injected into it.. what
portion has been paid by Phenix City? I think I e=remember between $250K-$500K.
Of course, like every other venue based in Columbus, Phenix City makes out like
a bandit caliming it for itself: White Water Phenix City - Main
Sorta reminds me of the Uncle Remus stories: Phenix City being Br'er Rabbit
and Columbus being Br'er Bear's dumber brother.

the higher rates, but how is that going to effect Georgia water users living
under drought conditions not being able to water their lawns or wash their

I really get frazzled by all the "free food"
programs for kids. What are "we" teaching them about the responsibilities they
will have when they become parents? Do I condone hungry children? No way! BUT,
why do we have so much obesity and obesity concern for

If a campaign donation to a candidate is not tax
deductible, why should a donation to a political activist movement be tax
deductible. Two of the most outrageous example are www.movingon.com which has a 501 (c) 3 status
which makes even George Soros' $1.46 MILLION donation deductible, and www.organizingforaction.com a 501
(c) 4 which makes a donation for 'education' tax deductible whether the
Organizing For Action foundation actually spends the money in the way it was
solicited.
