From the "what difference does another lie make" department - HuffPOOPOO headline/story: "Sen. Elizabeth Warren rebukes 2016 Obama comment: 'The system is as rigged as we think' *  Warren pointed to a speech that Obama gave last summer. Obama said, "the system isn't as rigged as you think it is." In the book, Warren fires back saying, "No, President Obama, the system is as rigged as we think. In face, it's worse than most Americans realize." -- Oh, no! Another one of those "I was for the lie before I was against it" liberal tirades.

Online story: "Conservative pundit Ann Coulter has decided against speaking at the University of California, Berkeley. * The New York Times reports that "Coulter said Wednesday that she is canceling her planned speech at the [university] because she had lost the backing of conservative groups that had initially sponsored her appearance. * She also told the Times, "It's a sad day for free speech." -- "canceling.... because she lost the backing"? Hmmm.. Shame on you Ann Coulter.. your outrage was not about "free speech".. but "FEE speech".

Online story: "The Trump White House is making good on one of the promises he made about immigration. The Department of Homeland Security officially opened the VOICE office. It stands for Victims of Immigrant Crime Engagement. It deals with helping victims of crimes committed by undocumented immigrants. * VOICE will also keep victims updated on the immigration process of potential suspects." -- Yes.. another promise kept.. pretty soon, Americans will stop being cynical about whether there is a difference between Democrats and  the future greatness we can achieve ... and Democrats, as we now know them,  will pretty much become ideologues of the past.

Online headline: "40 snakes found in Wal-Mart parking lot" -- Oooops, my bad.. Thought maybe a group of TV advertising lawyers were there looking for new clients.

Online headline/story: "Wait, the Majority of Pot Smokers Are Parents?! *  Yahoo News and the Marist Poll surveyed 1,122 adults in America and found that 54 percent of cannabis users are parents, while 30 percent are parents with children under the age of 18.  *  But that’s not even the most surprising part of the new study. Nearly half of pot-using parents (47 percent, to be exact) have consumed it in front of their children, shared it with their children or both. Meanwhile, 60 percent of pot-using parents have told their children honestly that they use cannabis." -- Hmmm.. you have to question a poll by "Yahoos" as to whether it was limited to staff members ..or Colorado.. but, where are the protesters about the evil of second hand smoke around children?

Yesterday, there was a wonderful picture of a number of seniors signing academic scholarships. The number $13,834,013.00 was the total earned by area seniors.. While $13, 834,013.00 is a great amount, it does need "parsing".. I inquired about the overall number of students who will be graduated from the MCSD this Spring, and was provided the number of 1,976.. I thought.. hmm... $13,834,013.00 divided by 1,976 is about $7.001.00. Now, since all the 1,976 graduates started out eligible to receicve HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarships when they were freshmen, and if all 1,976 ended up "qualified" for them, then if all finished high school with a 3.0 GPA they would have received $3,495.00 per semester (2 semesters equal $6,990.00 per year), or if they all earned 3,7 GPA (B+) they could get $4,600.00 per semester (2 semesters equal $9,200.00 per year). Therefore, if half the graduating seniors earned Hope Scholarships, and half earned Zell Miller Scholarships, the average "Lottery Paid Scholarships would be $4,047.50 per semester or 8,095. per year..and each year if they maintain their GPAs...That would total $15,995,720 that this years graduating seniors could have been awarded without applying for outside scholarships... and even more if they all won Zell Miller Scholarships ($18,179,200.00). And that could be PER ANNUM! Hey School Board.. set Dr Lewis' sights HIGHER!

Columbus Consumer Update: A week or so ago, I posted the extreme high prices of some North Columbus gas station prices for  "premium" gas.. I was thinking a little public exposure would embarrass them enough to get competive with the rest of the Columbus market.. Well, those gas stations across from the Welcome Center on Williams Road are charging $3.38 per gallon (up about 10-cents since last report) for premium/93 octane gas.. what a wonderful....NOT....way to welcome guests/passers-through to Columbus.

From the "did you even know about this travesty" department -  Online headline: "Trump Ends Obama’s African Ebola Amnesty" -- What's worse is that TPS.. (Temporary Protected Status) has been abused for years, and for about any temporary issue in any 3rd World Country.. Go Trump.. drain the swamp! Here's the link to "read all about it"!   http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2017/04/trump-ends-obamas-african-ebola-amnesty/?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=corruption%20chronicles%20(3)&utm_content=

Online headline: "Obama spokesman defends reported $400,000 Wall Street-backed speech" -- Hmm.. I guess when you have a $400,000.00 check in your pocket, it's easier to send out a flunkie to defend you and take the flak. I'm only surprised that he didn't hire Gibbs, Carney, or Earnest.. Mainscream media is already use to their lies..

From the news pages of the L-E: "Whitewater Kayak Instructor * If you feel you are a good kayaker and would like to share your passion of the sport, join Whitewater Express and Chris Wing with H2O dreams, Monday through Friday, for this 40-hour course to become an instructor. Cost is $575 and a chance for a position with Whitewater Express for this season. Book a spot now by calling 706-321-4720." -- I'm probably giving Whitewater Express MORE exposure that the L-E, but.. I do not charge for what I do.. Is this why the L-E is continuing to fail.. it seems giving away your product for free to a private for-profit business is not a smart business decision..

L-E headline: "COLUMBUS GOLF AUTHORITY * Public-private partnership urged to replace aging clubhouse" --  I heard about this effort last night, and if the numbers look right, I plan to help as a good public golf facility is a major benefit to our community.. but.. but is Bull Creek doing all it can to run a profitable business. Greens fees are definitely in need of parsing. Current fees are $38.00 with a Cart, and $19.00 if you walk. This is counter productive.. 70,000 18-hole rounds at $19.00 produces only $1.3 Million in revenues for the 36 hole complex... adding cart rental for all those rounds would generate another $1.3 Million.. and $2.6 million in revenues for golf on this complex is woefully low.. that also means that the complex cannot be maintained in a way that more interest is created for other tournaments/private events would find it attractive to bring in outside players/business clients. A good professional evaluation of the facilities/services could show how it could be better utilized, and at better (for the courses) playing rates.. which.. would probably eliminate having to go out and raise outside moneys to do so.

L-E story: "The Trump administration hosted senators for an extraordinary White House briefing Wednesday at a perilous moment with North Korea, marked by the unpredictable nation’s nuclear threats and stern talk of military action, if necessary, from the United States." --  The walking distance between the Capitol Building (per Google) is 1.6 miles.. all the Senators should have volunteered to walk that distance, but Trump was smart enough to send them a bus (an economical local rental versus Obama having purchased Canadian made buses at his disposal) to eliminate any excuse any Senator could make at not showing up on time (or at all). Go Trump!

L-E headline: "Rabbit dies after flying United" -- Hmmm.. looks like passengers need a complete "protection" package before boarding United.. sounds like another passenger was initiated in the Mile High club.. or maybe was "clubbed" at a Mile High..

L-E headline/story: "Work set to start on new Bradley Co. downtown riverfront apartment complex *
Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor building the complex" -- You know.. Brasfield & Gorrie is probably an excellent contractor.. we see the name all over Columbus.. including the current Fine Arts Academy going up behind the Library and Aquacenter. In fact, Brasfield & Gorrie, a Birmingham, AL corporation,  has so much much business in Columbus, they even rented out office space here.. I just wonder why a Columbus.. or at least a Georgia company, cannot be found to do these projects so Columbus and Georgia will benefit more from the revenues that Brasfield & Gorrie rake in.

L-E headline/story: "Columbus State hosts climate change symposium *  Melting ice has raised Earth’s sea level 8 inches since 1880, and it’s expected to rise up to 4 feet by the year 2100, NASA says." -- Granted.. I'm not a scientist.. I'm also not a person who is seeking remuneration from my government for being an alarmist.. I did learn something about the science of "ice" when I went to school (decades ago.. pre Common Crap Curriculum), amd one thing I learned is that if you calculate the space an ice cube occupies, that when it melts, the water occupies less space that the ice cube did.. It's an easy experiment.. just fill a glass with as many ice cubes as you can with out going over the top.. now, wait for it to melt, and the water level will be well below the rim..Ice.. whether it be cube form or glacier form has a great deal of air trapped within it. ,, So,, if you are measure the mass of an ice cube or a glacier, the results will be the same.. now, how does that calculate into "the scientist's calculations"?

Oh.. one other thing.. how much of the "8 inches since 1880" can be accounted for by earth settling because of earthquake movements?

From L-E story: "Councilor Walker Garrett said there are similar problems with solid waste not only in the Winchester subdivision, but also in Bibb City, Beallwood and other neighborhoods. He said property values are being affected, which could impact the city’s tax rolls." -- Excuse me, but Councilor Garrett obviously doesn't understand the Tax Freeze.. as I understand the tax assessors's position, unless owners have  deep enough pockets to hire lawyers to file a lengthy court process, owners cannot have their liabilities reduced until they sell or improve their properties

L-E headline: "Neanderthals in California? Maybe so, study says" -- Is there no doubt about this in the sanctuary cities of California?
