Online story: "The governors of Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and Alaska wrote a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, urging the federal government to keep marijuana legal. * "As governors, we have committed to implementing the will of our citizens and have worked cooperatively with our legislatures to establish robust regulatory structures that prioritize public health and public safety, reduce inequitable incarceration and expand our economies," the governors wrote." -- "as governors, we have committed to implementing the will of the people"? Hmmm.. the last I heard was that each of the above *and 46 others, swore to uphold the US Constitution... even before swearing to uphold the Constitution of their state...This is little more than a political grandstand effort of liberals campaigning for re-election.. and like all liberal politics.. it's about the taxes.. not the best for the people.

From the "let's see if we can stick a pin sneakily into Trump's balloon so it bursts slowly"  Online headline/story:  "The Fed isn't sure if Trump can deliver on his economic promises * Some members of the Federal Reserve aren't so sure the Trump boom is on its way." -- Some members"? Good grief.. If you get a dissenting point of view from 2-of-100 people, you can write that "some" are in opposition to something.. Of course, if it was written that "some polls and political news stories" are hogwash, we'd probably think "some" was 98-of-100.

Online headline: "Kendall Jenner Pepsi commercial pulled from air: 'Clearly, we missed the mark'" -- "we missed the mark"? Good grief.. it's more like Pepsi stomped on law enforcement's need for respect...

---
Online story: "JAB Holdings, the owner of Caribou Coffee and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, said on Wednesday it would buy bakery chain Panera Bread Co (PNRA.O) for $7.2 billion, as it expands its coffee and breakfast empire through the biggest-ever U.S. restaurant deal." -- Good grief..Panera was about the last holdout for GOOD food.. what's JAB Holding's business plan.. sell organic Krispy Kreme doughnuts and bagels at Panera?

The Boston Red Sox celebrate opening day RIGHT.. Not only did the stars of the Patriots show up for opening pitch, the Pats brought all 5 of their Super BowlChampion trophies!

From the "and we wonder why Democrats control California" department - Online story: "Colma, CA's live citizens number 1,700—a stark contrast to the 1.5 million “underground residents” of its many cemeteries. Most people who live in the city refer to these cemeteries as Colma’s “parks.” * Colma became the site for numerous cemeteries after San Francisco, in 1900 outlawed new interments within city limits, then in 1912" -- Hmmm 1700 living and 1,500,000.. dead "citizens" .. guess that explains why Colma counted 323,303 ballots in the 2016 elections (http://votersedge.org/ca/en/ballot/election/area/42/contests/contest/13618?election_authority_id=41)

In a recent poll of the best/worst states for conditions of their road system.. GA came in 37th of 50 .. obviously, the road testers did not come to Columbus, or GA would have been even closer to 50th.

Some 3,500 stores will be closed by 13 retailers in the next coming few months.. Stores are closing marginal performing stores to avoid the expense of possibly rebuilding their businesses at brick & mortar locations. The fact is that most of the stores being closed can more than recoup such business via Internet sales.. and by closing such stores, can eliminate presence in states and no longer will be responsible for collecting those states sales taxes.. and  processing" fees. additional profits via "shipping/handling" or "order processing" fees. Our District 133 Representative, John Pezold voted against GA to begin collecting such state/local sales taxes when out of state companies ship merchandise into GA. Guess Pezold needs a better education in the way revenue collections work.

From the "New York Times will just not accept Trump.. ever" department: "NYT headline: "In Georgia, Anti-Trump Activism Stirs Democratic Hopes" -- Good grief..The NYT has a hard enough time selling papers in NYC.. is it trying to get into the Atlanta market?

---
Pertinent online story to the above one: Online story: "Ossoff’s (Democrat candidate in GA's 6th District Special Election) financial disclosure, to be released Thursday, shows he has $2.1 million on hand for the final stretch of the campaign. His contributions came from across the nation, including more than $1 million raised by the liberal advocacy site the Daily Kos. Sure to raise eyebrows in Georgia, however, is the campaign’s revelation that 95 percent of all of Ossoff’s donors are from out of state." -- "95 percent ..from out of state"?  You know, if there is one campaign reform issue that needs to be implemented is one that requires you (or the majority of any registered PAC)  be eligible to vote for that candidate in an election.

Online headline: "Georgia officials hope to repair interstate bridge by June " -- Hmmm.. wanna bet whether I'll be the first person to willingly drive over that repair? Wanna bet whether it's this June or June of 2018?

---
L-E headline: "Survey: US companies add 263K jobs in March, most in 2 years" -- Don't blink! It's about as close to a complement to Trump as we'll ever get from the L-E staff.. of course, with the weather predictions for yesterday, it could just simply be a headline that slipped by the editorial board without being skewed.

---
L-E headline: "Want to help your kid ace the big tests? Make them laugh, not study" -- Good grief.. Local test scores should be off the charts! Our students in the MCSD already laugh.. laugh at the MCSB/MCSD whenever those entities say "we're doing it for the kids"..

---
Online story: "The number of Democrats who say they are “extremely” or “very” proud of their country has fallen significantly in the last year, according to a new poll." -- Hmmm.. guess Michelle finally withdrew her support...

---
Instant replay - Online story: "The number of Democrats who say they are “extremely” or “very” proud of their country has fallen significantly in the last year, according to a new poll." -- Hmmm.. could t simply be that Democrats are finally seeing what leadership of all about, and it makes them uncomfortable about feeling good during the Obama years?

---
HuffPOOPO headline: "Trump Gutted The State Department And Half Of Top Jobs Are Still Unfilled
More than half the positions in the agency’s organizational chart are vacant or occupied temporarily by acting officials." -- Good grief.. why would Trump.. America for that matter, WANT anyone leftover from the Obama appointee list in any aspect of diplomacy, security, or economics? The real issue is why isn't mainscream media going after Democrats for not letting Trump get his team assembled..

---
Online headline: "New Jersey teen gets into Stanford after writing #BlackLivesMatter 100 times on application" -- Good grief.. meanwhile, some hopeful student, who could also be black,  who worked hard for superior grades to get into even consideration for admission to Stanford was rejected so Stanford could smugly say it has an open environment for ideas. Shame on Stanford! Wonder if Stanford will send the person who was REJECTED a sympathy t-shirt.. here's one that "fits" sent out during a  Stanford Crew fundraiser during the 90's (my niece was a member of the "Women's 8s")

The Masters starts today..sadly..once again..no Tiger... It's been as disappointing as it has been frustrating to watch Tiger restart..then sputter ...again and again..

---
From the "what they don't tell you" department - L-E headline: "School district proposes keeping millage rate at 23.37 for 21st straight year" -- What "they" don't tell you is that most school systems are restricted to 20 mils.. but.. BUT years ago, the MCSD was GIVEN and extra 5 mils because it "operates" the Columbus Museum.. what "they" don't tell you is that the Columbus Museum doesn't need tax dollars to operate.

---
With a recent story in the L-E showing Columbus has had more car crashes in the first 2 1/2 months, and the L-E is not questioning that if people cannot understand what stop signs and red lights mean, how will they understand what yield and merge signs at a roundabout mean? Of course, the L-E and Mayor Tom-LYING-son may be counting on is that teens will "Google" "Driving Sign Meanings" between texting or selfies.
