Online headline: "SAN FRANCISCO, April 25 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Tuesday blocked President Donald Trump's executive order that sought to withhold federal funds from so-called sanctuary cities for immigrants." -- Good grief.. since San Francisco  IS such a sanctuary city, shouldn't that judge have recused himself? You know, isn't is about time that the US Supreme Court issued an injunction against the 9th District Court of Appeals to stop issuing injunctions against the US Constitution?

Online headline/story: "Napolitano's UC hid $175 million while demanding money, audit says *  The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the audit found that the secret fund ballooned due to UC Office of the President overestimating how much is needed to run the school system that includes 10 campuses in the state. Janet Napolitano, the former Department of Homeland Security chief, is in charge of the school system. * Napolitano denied the audit’s claim. She reportedly said the money was held for any unexpected expenses. Her office also denied the amount in the fund. * “The true amount is $38 million, which is roughly 10 percent of (the office’s) operating and administrative budget, a prudent and reasonable amount for unexpected expenses such as cybersecurity threat response and emerging issues like increased support for undocumented students and efforts to prevent sexual violence and sexual harassment,” her office said in a statement." -- "the money was held for any unexpected expenses"? In other words.. a SLUSH FUND! Just goes to show you.. no, PROVE.. once a Democrat, always a thief!

While April is "tax season" nationwide, it's more "taxing" to be in Chicago.. so far (through Monday) there have been 277 people shot on the streets of Chicago this month.. 40 have died..For the year, over 1,000 have been shot, and 176 have been shot dead. You would think Chicago voters would smarten up..

Why would the Marlins want Jeb Bush as an owner? We've already seen him in competition, and he's seemingly happy at not winning..

Online story: "Fashion retailer Nordstrom is selling a pair of $425 jeans that allegedly show "you're not afraid to get down and dirty." *  The "Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans," which come with a "caked-on muddy coating," have been roundly mocked on social media, with Mike Roweremarking that the jeans are intended to make someone appear like they have a dirty job when they do not." -- Hmm.. isn't Nordstrom's a store that pulled Ivanka Trump clothing off its racks as too expensive for its customers?

---
Online headline/story: "NEWS “White Folks Gotta Give Up Something” Says Black Lives Matter Co-Founder * Marissa Johnson, Black Lives Matter co-founder, is living proof that the BLM movement is inherently flawed. Instead of  promoting unity and racial healing, it creates a victim mentality." -- You know.. the black communities will across the nation will better flourish when it stops supporting "black leaders" that promote racial division...Let's face it.. we are in this life together.

I was stunned to hear that locally, some $37 MILLION was to be spent on refurbishing local public housing.. Driving by Wilson Apartments daily, I see so much waste being added to those units.. Fake dormers are being nailed onto roofs, and high maintenance wood panels are being put over external low-maintenance brick walls. Please, tell me how any bureaucrat can defend such additions as cost efficient ways to spend taxpayer funded dollars..

As I was getting my 2018 car tag stickers yesterday, I happened to think about how many wheeled vehicles are legally required to use our roadways and obey traffic laws, except bicycles, and must pay annual property taxes and license fees.. I'm talking cars, trucks, private and commercial, plus motorcycles, scooters, trailers and buses.. Why aren't bicycles required to do the same..Not only do bicycles use our roads and highways, we get stuck with paying for building and maintaining special lanes and signs. Time is right to make adult bicycle users responsible for using public thoroughfares!

Hmmm.. It's bad enough that a City employee who lives in Alabama gets a reserved parking space at the Citizens' Center, but why on earth should we see cars with Alabama plates parked in the Citizens' Center parking lot..what business could an Alabama citizen have in the Columbus, GA Citizens' Center?

---
John Bolton said the North Korean situation is 25 years in the making..whatta crock! Kim Jong Ooops didn't become the chief despot until 6 years ago, and Obama simply ignored the dangers of putting a 27 year old megalomaniac in charge of a nuclear program.

L-E story: "“CCG continues to struggle with declining revenues,” the mayor wrote in the letter. “In FY2018, we expect some $4.27 million less in revenues than the already reduced or stagnant revenues of FY2017 and preceding years. These reduced revenues are a result of state tax policies that disproportionally affect local government, reduce franchise fees and anemic property tax growth due to our local tax structure.” -- Good grief.. Tom-LYING-son is definitely a Hellary-type Democrat.. she looks in the mirror and cannot see herself.. Not once does she recognize her wasteful spending practices.. including non-revenue producing bicycle trails, and dog runs. non-working RiverWalk bathroom, paying excessive prices for depressed land to create "enterprise zones" where no businesses will tread, building "roundabouts" for her supporters, assaulting homeowners who's neighborhood loyalty has created stability,  etc.. etc.. etc,

If Mayor Tom-LYING-son wants to attract new businesses, she should be praising the tax freeze for new citizens to Columbus.. and addressing such eyesores along major arteries that carry travelers and commuters  through the heart of the City.. I recommend she start on Veterans Parkway starting at River Road and continuing down to the Civic Center.. There's enough barbed-wire and razor wire to give the impression that businesses cannot trust public safety to stop criminals, and businesses that have the ugliness of their businesses in full display of every vehicle driver/passengers. I thought there were laws about screening off eyesores in public view...

From L-E story above: "The mayor said it’s the second year in a row that the city has presented a balanced budget without dipping into the general fund, following about 16 years of not doing so." -- Good grief.. I knew it was low, but does Mayor Tom-LYING-son have zero regard for the truth? This past years fund balance was patched with a Band-Aid by simply reshuffling unspent budget money for salaries of jobs not filled into the "fund balance" to get it back over the 60 day mark. So, instead of enough law enforcement officers on the streets, Columbus got a the Mayor's "teaberry shuffle".

L-E story: "The only other local Georgia school in the rankings is Early College Academy of Columbus at No. 77 in the state but without a national ranking (Bronze Award for the fourth straight year). That means Muscogee County’s number of schools in the rankings has dropped from five in 2015 (when Columbus High was a gold medalist and Early College, Jordan, Kendrick and Spencer High Schools were bronze medalists) to three in 2016 (when Columbus High was a gold medalist and Early College and Kendrick were bronze medalists) and to two in 2017 (Columbus High gold medalist and Early College bronze medalist)." -- It's another Redd Foxx/Fred Sanford moment.."It's the big one Elizabeth, I'm coming to see you." I guess since the L-E is getting it's stories edited in Macon, now, the Macon editors aren't censoring the truth.. Last month, there'd have been no mention of the decline in Columbus schools decline in anything..

LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Trump is a used-car salesman who has sold the U.S. a lemon." -- Hmmm.. if that be the case, then the "lemon" was created by 8 years of Obama and 8 years of not keeping America maintained in good running condition, and the service records hidden with his college transcripts.

---
I'm sorry, but how can local high school players make the "All-Bi-City teams when they live in counties that Columbus and Phenix City do not reach?

L-E story: "An 88-room hotel at the corner of Broadway and 12th Street has been in the works for about a year, but the project has slowed down considerably as the Pezold companies wait for new project construction bids next month, Pezold Management Chief Operating Officer Tracy Sayers said Tuesday." -- Hmmm.. Has Council moved on making the Pezold's buy the parking lot property at the Marriott Hotel across from the Trade Center? Pezold stopped a sale by Council because of evaluation, so Pezold should have to pony-up the $1.3 Million he says it's worth or Council should close off access for parking at that hotel.
