You know.. UC Berkeley's decided and intentional efforts to "discourage" freedom of speech from conservatives reminds me of another political environment and struggle.. Apartheid.....

Online story: "Democratic lawmakers in California have advanced a bill aimed to bar local cops and sheriffs from working with the federal law authorities to crack down on marijuana activity deemed legal by the state, a scenario that's become a distinct possibility under the Trump administration." -- The Mexican drug cartels are celebrating.. now they won't have to payoff law officials to "look the other way" anymore.

I'm looking at a list of Macy's stores set to close this year, and I am stunned at the number of.. actually the SMALL number of employees associated with each unit.. one in Portland, OR of 246,000 sq ft has 85 "associates". No wonder retail stores are closing.. even considering management helping on the floor, eacxh employee/associate would have to cover almost 2900 square feet every hour from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM 7 days a week and have no days off, no lunch hours, and no bathroom breaks. Combined with clothing racks that overstuffed and too close together to walk between, no wonder customers have abandoned brick and mortar facilities. Oh, and one in North Hollywood, CA was 475,000 sq ft and had but 105 "associates".. that's 1 for every 4,523 sq ft..

In a list for the "most polluted cities in the US", the worst 4 were in California.. and I'm talking about air quality... only heaven knows what the list would be if it was also about polluted morals, polluted politics, and polluted immigration issues.

I do believe we are watching .. and being influenced by.. too much TV.. Was looking at an online gallery of pictures taken in a Frank Lloyd Wright home built in Minnesota that's offered by the 90+ year old original owner who has kept it in pristine condition for over 60 years. Like I said, we've been watching too much TV because a thought flashed through my head about "what would Chip and Joanna Gaines do with remodeling this house.

What is Fox thinking...uh.."feeling"..putting "The 5" on in Prime Time...why does Fox want to give Blob Beckel 9:00 PM airtime when people are actually watching?

Online headline: "Venezuela Seizes GM, Warning Sign to U.S. Companies?" -- I have but two words on the issue: "Trump" "MOAB".
Oh, and with any luck, Sean Penn will be visiting Venezuela..
---
Oh.. and why didn't Obama make GM to reel in its overseas operations that involved shipping cars back to the US for sales? The US taxpayers are still out of more than $10 BILLION dollars on that bail-out deal.

Online headline/story: "Al Jazeera Paid Georgia Democrat Over $5,000 in Past 15 Months * Democratic congressional candidate Jon Ossoff has received over $5,000 in compensation from Qatari-owned Al Jazeera since January 2016, according to his recently filed financial disclosure * for his ties to Al Jazeera, which has aired films produced by Ossoff's investigative film company. The London-based company Insight: The World Investigates (Insight TWI) has produced nine films for Al Jazeera since Ossoff joined as managing director and CEO in 2013, according to its website." -- Sadly, Democrat voters are not patriotic enough to reject a candidate for such behavior, but there's a more serious aspect to this story.. We already know Ossoff is not a resident of District 6 (claims to be shacking up with girlfriend elsewhere, but could he actually be residing in London?

Online story: "MSNBC terrorism analyst Malcolm Nance posted a call on Twitter Tuesday for the terrorist group ISIS to bomb a Trump building in Turkey. * Nance’s statement read, “This is my nominee for first ISIS suicide bombing of a Trump property” and referenced a tweet that featured a photo of Trump Tower in Istanbul, Turkey * Nance has since deleted the tweet" -- Not only should Nance be fired, he should be ostracized in all civil environments.

Remember when the GA DOT swarmed over the River Road/Bradley Park intersection in January measuring and staking out dimensions for the "roundabout"? Remember when it was announced a month later that it would be finished by June of 2018. Well, 2 months have passed since then, and no actual work has begun. You know, with the experience we suffered through involving the Whittlesey Rd widening once it got started, who wants to bet against the roundabout being brought in on time and on its $2.7 million dollar budget?

Liberals are incredibly vacuous. One Democrat Spinmeister just refuted the bump in Trump's ratings as a temporary patriotic jump triggered by dropping the MOAB on the ISIS Complex, but will subsided in a few days. Then he added that Trump's ratings are the worst for any president during his "honeymoon period". "Honeymoon"? Good grief, Democrats /mainscream media must consider Sadism as a normal part of normal life.
---
Why is mainscream media upset at where and when the Navy fleet was. when Trump said they were in the sea between Korea and Japan. Trump has always stated he will not reveal his moves in advance, and how much time, energy and money did Kim Jong Oooops spend trying to find our fleet..Seems like Trump won this round, too... and mainscream media went "oooops", too.

Took my bride and some of my girls to a birthday dinner at "11th & Bay" this week.. Had heard some wonderful things, and am glad to confirm...even raise .. those compliments. Definitely on our preferred dining list for the future.

Online headline/story: "A federal judge in Tennessee who joined the bench in 2011 spent his last day on the job on Friday, then denounced mandatory minimum sentences in an interview the next day. * “The drugs-and-guns cases, you say it like that and it sounds like they’re all dangerous,” he said of the defendants. “Most of them are not. They’re just kids who lack any opportunities and any supervision, lack education and have ended up doing what appears to be at the time the path of least resistance to make a living.” * Sharp talked about one case that particularly troubled him. He was required to sentence the defendant, Chris Young, to life in prison in a drug-trafficking case because the youth had two prior drug-dealing convictions. Young had testified that his mother was a drug addict and he grew up in a home that sometimes had no lights or water. For a while, he worked at a funeral home but he saw friends dealing drugs and he wanted to join them." -- Good riddance! WE do not need judges that relegate youthful arrogance for laws as simply conditions/victims of their environment.. they are..were.. CHOICES.. and kowtowing to them just encourages future criminality.

Any one seen those arrogant "red arrows" on 13th Street that mar to naturalness of the Lakebottom area? Somebody said that they are art pieces from the Art Beat program.. me, I think they may be "Google" directions to Red Lobster down the street,

From the "how can we say it but not really say it" department - L-E
headline: "State jobless rate drops to December ’07 level" -- Hmmm Guess that
means that the state jobless rate was higher during the whole Obama
administrations time in office.. it rose after Bush left office, and it's
declining since Trump took office.
