Random Thought: When I was school-aged, and the school menu indicated "diced rutabagas" were on the "hot plate" for lunch, I could count on my mom to pack me a lunch to take. I KNEW a Peanut Butter sandwich was going to be there, and there were times I wished the school menu said there'd be "diced rutabagas" on it EVERY DAY. On the other hand, my granddaughter is PROHIBITED from getting to carry such a favorite sandwich to school.. I want to know WHY there are so many kids today with "peanut allergies" and I cannot think of a single classmate of mine who had such..Don't get me wrong.. I've seen kids suffer from allergic reactions, and it's not pretty.. I just want to know why it exists prominently today when it basically didn't when I was in school.

Schools have enough trouble teaching subjects that are needed by all students, so how do we expect schools to teach about words/subjects that mean different things to different people?
