It's taken a lot of digging but I've found another way the L-E has let down our Community.. Since Columbus is the home of the ranking member of the GA DOT, and so is the company doing the Whittlesey and Veterans Parkway projects, why didn't someone at the L-E occasionally just call either entity and get a progress report.. I imagine if there were unforeseeable problems that looked like they would cause another delay, the local folks would have loved to be able to let the Community know what was going on.. Wellborn and McMath-Turner would be able to "save face" rather than the delay building up resentment on the local front.
