From a L-E story: "The other grant for at-risk students was $89,505 for a program called “Out of School,” to be administered at Columbus State University. Brown called the concept a “holistic.” * “Instead of basically putting students in a gym with a ball, we give them some really good programs,” Brown said. “The start-off program will be with the stringed instrument people out of the Schwob School of Music. They'll interact with the children. Teach them about music and help them with homework.” * At first the program will accept 150-200 children, but Brown hopes that eventually it will be citywide. It is based on a Chicago program called “After School Matters,” which has been successful there, Brown said. " -- This I gotta see.... a successful Chicago program. Of course there's probably a difference in how things are deemed successful in Chicago versus anywhere else. Chicago deems voter registration drives in cemeteries "successful".

Of the 4 "programs" initiated for "Crime Prevention" 2 are "feel good", basically taxpayer daycare programs, and the initial monies will be but drops in a bucket for the ongoing costs. Of the other 2, one sounds like something that the VA should be handling, but the last could be something good...teaching and training job marketable skills to otherwise to the harder-to-employ sounds like the place to concentrate on.

How is any justice to be had in making a 16 year old relive a molestation act committed 8 years ago, but only coming to trial now, and the defendant be allowed to challenge the girl to a lie-detector contest in court? Once again, our Public Defenders expose their lack of decency in pursuing their own self-gratification.

Speaking of Public Defenders, I haven't gotten any feedback from the legal-eagles about how, even why, a person arrested for have a gun of any sorts on a school campus and who can qualify for a $10,000.00 bond can get a court ordered attorney. This ain't right, either!

$5,000.00 worth of copper tubing was stolen from one government facility, and $630.00 worth of fencing material was stolen from another, and nobody knows nothing. Sounds like a scene from "Hogan's Heroes" featuring Sgt Schultz.

L-E headline: "Obama has given up smoking, first lady says " -- Nice, but what we'd like to hear is that potUS Imam-a has quit his plan to 'change' us from being "the best country in the world".
