Online headline: "What Obama Wants for Egypt * Departing from calls for Mubarak to hasten his exit plan, administration now supports a 'gradual transition." -- And on Tuesday, new White House spokesperson, Monty Hall, will announce that Mubarak can also choose "what's behind door # 3" and "Let's make a deal".

Online story: "SEATTLE -- A superstar donor of President Barack Obama's last campaign who later became ambassador (now ex-ambassador) to Luxembourg said Saturday that she has filed a rebuttal to an internal State Department review that found her tenure to be a disaster. * The State Department report released Thursday said her (Cynthia Stroum) year in Luxembourg was fraught with personality conflicts, verbal abuse and questionable expenditures on travel, wine and liquor. It said things were so bad some staff requested transfers to Iraq and Afghanistan" -- This was an AP story, not Fox News! Don't you love it when liberals eat their own?
---
Online headline: "Fox News: ACLU Wants Probe in Gitmo Prisoner's Death" -- Next time someone you know supports the ACLU, ask them, Doesn't ACLU stand for 'American Civil Liberties Union'?". Then ask them has the ACLU run out of American causes and now supporting foreign terrorists' cause?
---
L-E story: "
Columbus Council has agreed to pay the University of Georgia about $58,000 to produce a promotions program for the ranks of lieutenant and sergeant for the sheriff’s department, much as it did earlier for the Columbus Police Department." -- Curiosity makes me have to ask why not just use/model the CPD tests? Do we not already have that , or is there some sort of inter-departmental 'fence' between sharing?

Even Chicago is learning to hate the EPA. The EPA has ruled that the City of Chicago (andCook County) cannot dump the plowed and removed snow into the river, because the snow has salt and other chemicals in it. So, Chicago has to pile the mountains of snow and wait for it to melt. Where does the melted snow go? Into the river. of course. Our tax dollars are paid to run the EPA.

L-E story: "In interviews last week, several commissioners said they were still on the fence about the landfill and appreciated the importance of the vote and the voltage of the debate. Commissioner Gentry Lee of District 1, a former science teacher, has made no secret of his intention to vote no. * “I haven’t talked to a single person that’s in favor of it, and I must have talked to over a thousand,” Lee said. “With it being that close to the river, I just can’t support it.” -- Hasn't talked to "a single person" that's in favor of this? How can Commissioner Lee take pride in either avoiding normal life, lying, or surrounding himself with only 'like feeling' persons?
---
Also from above L-E story: "Commissioner Tillman Pugh of District 2 said he was keeping an open mind going into Monday’s public hearing. But Pugh said his vote may prove irrelevant because several of his colleagues seem likely to approve the landfill. " -- How can a Commissioner say his vote "may prove irrelevant" unless he has already made up his mind about how he will vote?
---
L-E story: "A Columbus man leaving a high school basketball game was jailed Friday night after police found a loaded, automatic AK-47 assault rifle in the backseat of his car, authorities said. * He posted $10,000 bond and was released Saturday from the Muscogee County Jail. The case was bound over to Superior Court after a preliminary court hearing. * Williams’ court-appointed defense attorney, Charles W. Lykins, said he has “serious doubts” about the type of weapon police claim Williams had, noting investigators did not test-fire the weapon to determine it was an automatic rifle." -- Excuse me, but a 21 year old hanging around a school with an assault weapon who can quickly post a $10,000.00 bond, but is given a "court appointed defense attorney" just ain't right!
---
L-E story: "WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says the American government has a responsibility to make the U.S. the best place in the world to do business, but companies have a responsibility to invest in the nation’s future by keeping jobs here, hiring workers and paying decent wages." -- Hmmm, just as with HELL-thScare, potUS Imam-a just doesn't listen to the American people, or, for that matter, the words he reads off his TelePrompters. One only has to look at the plethora of EPA, OSHA, and IRS et al agencies "regulations" (though most are aimed at the worst offenders; you know, the liberals "good intentions" mantra) that hamper and hinder businesses here that want to be "good guys". The regulations cause too much 'collateral damage' to honest businesses yet do not actually stop abuses by unethical people. Like XPOTUS Reagan would say, "Government IS the problem."
---
L-E headline: "Michael Vick wins Comeback Player of the Year " -- Of course, that was an AP award. Now if the People's Choice Award were give to Vick, it would be the "Go Back Where You Came From" award.

Congrats! Kudos! Glad to see the MCSD getting serious about non-residents abusing our school system! Likewise, when the transition period of out-of-county/state residing school officials/teachers getting a reduced tuition for their children ends, a lot of those teachers, and future teachers will move back into, or decide from the git-go, to buy homes in Muscogee County, and be part of the local tax base they draw their salaries from.
