Online headline: "Marshals Release Photo of Alleged Tucson Shooter" -- "Alleged"? This has to be the lead runner for the 'politically correct headline of the decade"!
---
Online headline: "Reid Calls on Nevada Legislature to 'Outlaw' Prostitution" -- I guess he's trying to claim exclusive rights to screw the taxpayers...that or he trying to make it a free government entitlement program.
---
Online headline: "Americans Killed by Pirates Knew the Risks, Friends Say" -- For the last 7 years, the Adams and friends yachted around the world distributing Bibles. This week they were killed by Somali pirates. Wonder if the Adams and their friends would be alive if they were distributing Qurans. It's not one world, and Emporer Imam-a wants us to embrace Muslims as he has. I think not.

DUMB&DUMBERAT politicos are have walked out of their state house buildings in Wisconsin and Indiana. That just goes to prove that DUMB&DUMBERATs are exactly who they claim themselves to be..the party against hard work.
---
Regarding the new HOPE outline: "State Sen. Vincent Fort said that family income should be taken into account, with top earners ineligible. " -- Even if you didn't know for sure before now, Senator Fort is obviously a DUMB&DUMBERat. Senator Fort obviously hasn't had a child turn 18 in recent years, or he'd know that when they do, no state agency or school will talk with a student's parents about what the parents want to talk about. If GA agencies and schools want to leave the parents out of the decision making, then those same agencies need to learn they cannot consider the parents' income the property of the students.

L-E headline: "Man accused of shoplifting steaks in pants " -- Well, he'd gotten charged with some other law violations if he hadn't been wearing pants... Wish the L-E would hire one of its employees back,, you know, the one responsible for proofing/editing headlines.
---
From L-E story: " (Former Councilor Julius) Hunter, who previously served as a recorder pro tem, said Monday that he would still be interested in a position (Recorder's Court judgeship) once he becomes eligible and if there is an opening. * “It was something I enjoyed doing,” Hunter said. “If there’s an opening in the future, I would like to take a look at it at that time. But it can’t happen until next year.” -- "Next year"? I hope someone brings this to the attention of Council in 4 YEARS when the job is open for appointment again! We certainly don't need a judge that doesn't know the very law that creates the job.

L-E headline/story: "40 homes will get repairs paid for by stimulus funds * Using $400,000 from the economic stimulus program, the city of Columbus has teamed up with ESP to assess the needs and repair homes in targeted redevelopment areas of Beallwood, Second Avenue, The Medical Center, East Highland and Lawyers Lane * Officials expect to spend up to $6,500 per home with new weather stripping, sealing around plumbing fixtures and in some rare cases replacing the furnace, Robinson said." -- Has anyone else done the math on this? If a maximum of $6.500.00 is spent per 40 homes, the total expenditure would be 'only' $260,000.00; where is the other $140,000.00 going?
---
From L-E's "Looking Back" section: " A baby twister dipped out of leaden skies yesterday about 4 p.m. and took a lusty punch at a small section of Muscogee County some six miles east of the downtown Columbus area. * No one was injured, but the tornado unroofed a garage, uprooted some trees, snapped off the tops of other trees, snapped some power lines and caused damage of several hundred dollars." -- "damage of several hundred dollars"? My how the dollar has shrunk.

From the "for what it's worth" department: Things should be looking up. Went to Dahlonega, GA Monday for a day trip. Saw the most truck activity on I-85 in and out of Atlanta than I've seen in a couple of years. Trucks seems to be rolling again. That's a good sign for our economy.
