Online story: "Roughly a third of 300 potential jurors were dismissed Monday in the penalty retrial of convicted murderer Jodi Arias after telling a judge they had seen too much media coverage of her first trial to be impartial or had already made up their minds about her punishment. * Arias, 34, has acknowledged killing ex-boyfriend in 2008 at his suburban Phoenix home but claimed it was self-defense. He suffered nearly 30 knife wounds, had his throat slit and was shot in the head." -- "self defense"? AriASS probably had a better defense claiming he committed suicide. Some juror might have swallowed that line.

HuffPost headline: " Hong Kong protesters set deadline for government" -- Wow... Chinese college students are protesting too much government in their lives (which is good, and should be expected), while American college students are protesting for more government entitlements. Our founding fathers are rolling over in their graves. So are the China founding fathers.
---
HuffPost "headlie": "White House Shows Support For Aspirations Of Hong Kong People" -- What BS! Obamageddon's assault of the Constitution and individual freedoms is the same game plan as the government of China.

George Washington University professors have their panties in a was. Faced with an upcoming tax on the Cadillac Health Plan in the million dollar range, the board has changed healthcare plans to a high deductible one. Funny thing is that the professors are blaming the university board rather than Obamageddon's OObamaCRAP bill.

Question of the year.. maybe the decade: With all the Islamic threats, actions, too, why isn't the US mainstream media covering Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam?
---
Another scary thought... Louis Farrakhan is 81. Who is going to take over the Nation of Islam when he dies?
---
A black Muslim jihadist beheaded an unarmed white woman in Oklahoma. I haven't seen any mention of this qualifying as "hate crime".
---
She really doesn't deserve having her name mentioned, but this online headline is too stupid to ignore: Melissa Harris Perry: Oklahoma Beheading A Case Of "Workplace Violence". Of course, it was on MSNBC, so more people are reading about this today than when she said it live, but this warning, that people like her walk among us, is important to note..
---
Quick..can you name one member of Obamageddon's advisors who knows where even one of the five jihadists released from Gitmo are today? I would include Obamageddon himself as a possible source, but he was probably playing golf that day, probably didn't read the newspaper, so probably doesn't know they are no longer at Gitmo.

Online story: "The National Science Foundation (NSF, no that doesn’t stand for “non-sufficient funds”) spent $300,000 studying how to ride bikes, or as the study itself puts it in government bureaucracy-speak, “improve the fundamental understanding of how humans interact with bicycles.” * The study, which is titled, “Human Control of Bicycle Dynamics with Experimental Validation and Implications for Bike Handling and Design,” paid $300,000 to Mont Hubbard of the University of California-Davis, the “Principle Investigator,” and Ronald Hess, the “Co-Principal Investigator.” -- You know, the bicycle industry generates $65 BILLION a year here, and bicycle manufacturers spend MILLIONS of their own generated funds on bicycle research. I'd like to know if any bicycle manufacturer was interested in any research by a taxpayer funded college project?

I see a huge opportunity for some lawyers to put GM out of its misery via a class-action suit.. Last April, I took one of my daughters' cars in for a recall because of the ignition problem. Of course, the ignition is built into the steering column. Today, I am taking it back because the electronic power steering module has gone kaput. Found out from my independent mechanic that this is another recall issue that was brought to the forefront last March. The "fix" is to replace the steering column altogether. Now, why didn't GM just replace the steering column last April when the car was having the first recall item (the ignition) fixed? Oh.. the class-action suit.. diminished value.. around 30 MILLION GM cars have been recalled this year, and you know, trade in value has taken a beating.

According to TV ads, it looks like our nation's freight railroads are running profitably. We do not see the same claims from AMTRAK, nor do we see any private RR lines clamoring to get back in the passenger business, yet Democrats, our Mayor Obamalinson included, want to pour tax dollars into passenger rail systems.

Online quote source: “Let today be the day you stop being haunted by the ghost of yesterday. Holding a grudge & harboring anger/resentment is poison to the soul. Get even with people... but not those who have hurt us, forget them, instead get even with those who have helped us.” - Steve Maraboli " -- You know, thus should be posted in every government entitlement and NAACP office.

Yesterday, I heard a recap of the current rankings of cities on the move on GNN. It mentioned the rankings of several GA cities, but Columbus was not in the list. A quick "google" this AM did not find that info. Anyone else hear it or know where I can get the complete list?
---
HuffPost headline: "Obama Predicts Democrats Will Hold The Senate In November" -- Oh.. what's Obamageddon going to do.. draw a red line in front of the voting precincts?
---
Comment on above: Obamageddon could be right.. it depends on whether Republicans take their feet out of their mouths of moral issues.
---
Online headline: "Ginsburg Says Citizens United Was Supreme Court’s Worst Ruling" -- Good grief.. she had her say...she voted against it.. she was wrong.. what's new?
---
Online headline: "Marvel releases a preview of its first female 'Thor' comic" -- Good grief.. Norse mythology is getting a transgendered goddess of thunder & lightning.. guess now Marvel will just call it "THORn..goddess of PMS.
---
L-E headline: "Jason Carter outlines platform at fundraiser in Columbus" -- "outlines"? It's 5 weeks away from Election day.. his platform should be filled out by now.
---
What is it with Jason Carter.. son of Jack (eldest son of Jimmy), who tried to run for US Senate in Nevada? Does Jason think GA voters don't remember Jimmy?
---
I'm curious.. for whom is the Democratic Party fundraiser, the Jefferson-Jackson Gala, named for? Surely Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson's ancestors object to this (especially Jefferson's). Maybe it's William J. Jefferson. corrupt (and imprisoned) Louisiana Senator and Jesse Jackson?
---
L-E story: "The man who used a stolen 9 mm pistol to kill Keyonna Monte “KC” Chapple on Columbus’ Fisk Avenue at Morehouse Street in 2011 pleaded guilty Monday. * had been out of prison less than six months when he fatally shot the 30-year-old Chapple in the chest during a dispute * pleaded guilty to four counts of felony murder and one of using a firearm to commit a crime * sentenced... to life in prison, though he will be eligible for parole. * If paroled, he then will serve five years’ probation on the firearms charge" -- "eligible for parole"? Good grief, the L-E even shows " Williams pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated assault for shooting at a Mercury Grand Marquis occupied by four people, including two children, on June 20, 2003.He pleaded.. (the judge) sentence him to 15 years in prison with eight to serve and the rest on probation. He entered the prison system on April 8, 2004. * Williams already was a convicted felon then, with record of entering a Dodge Durango with intent to commit theft on Dec. 13, 1998. My question is why he wasn't sentenced to death being a three time felon with at least two crimes involving firing a gun at people....
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "If Obama gets the blame for gas over $4 a gallon, does he get the credit for gas under $3 a gallon?" -- You know,, when Obamageddon took office, gasoline was about $1.81 nationally (lower here in Columbus). Let's give him all the credit for where gasoline will be on his last day in office.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Michelle Nunn doesn’t hide the fact that she’s a Democrat. She just knows many closed-minded, backward thinking people would vote against her simply because she is a Democrat." -- Huh? Warning.. these people will be walking among us at polling places!
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Parents who let their little boys play football aren’t fit to have children." -- Is the full moon out? I have but one question.. where was 'free birth control" when this idiot was conceived?
---
L-E's " Thought for Today" - “If you can’t be a good example, then you’ll just have to be a horrible warning.” — Attributed to Catherine the Great, Russian empress (1729-1796)." -- You would think this would be the first thing Obamageddon reads everymorning.. you know, he probably does, but it doesn't help.
---
L-E story: " The Washington Post and New York Times say the intruder who climbed a fence made it farther inside the White House than the Secret Service has publicly acknowledged." -- Well, what did you expect from the Security Team that leads our Mexican border strategy?
---
That (_*_) arrested in the missing UVA coed.. well, two more cases have been linked to him. He's obviously a serial racist hate crime criminal.
---
L-E editorial headline/content: "Beats jail any time" * An ankle monitor isn’t going to become a fashion trend. When it’s visible, it amounts to a public notice that the wearer has broken the law. * But it’s better than jail, both for the offender and for the jails themselves — crowded, understaffed and expensive. * And of course, it’s better for the taxpayers." --

Good grief.. the L-E making a claim of "absolute" is atrocious..

In 2013 (last year for you liberals out there), the Washington Post reported, "At least 11 defendants awaiting criminal trials in the District in the past year were charged with violent crimes after being released from jail through the court system’s electronic monitoring program. * According to statistics from the District’s Pretrial Services Agency, of 1,351 defendants who were released with GPS ankle bracelets to track their movements, 110 were arrested and charged with new crimes. Nearly a dozen crimes were violent, including armed robbery, assault and attempted child sex abuse. In past years, defendants in the program have been charged with murder and rape."

Another story says, "Two registered sex offenders believed to have been working together were charged on Monday with four felony counts each of rape and "special circumstances murder" in the horrific deaths of four California women last year. * The scariest part of this whole story is that both men were under police supervision -- and were wearing GPS ankle monitors at the times of the killings last October."

I really don't think any of those victims or their families will agree with the L-E's assessment.

Online story: "An American doctor who was exposed to the Ebola virus while volunteering in Sierra Leone was admitted Sunday to a hospital at the National Institutes of Health near the nation's capital. * NIH said that out of "an abundance of caution," the physician was admitted to a special isolation unit. NIH infectious disease chief Dr. Anthony Fauci said that in general, an exposure to Ebola doesn't necessarily mean someone will become sick." -- "doesn't necessarily mean someone will become sick"? Good grief... It's Washington! Just look at all the first time politicians who go to Washington excited to change things, but are the ones changed by Washington!
---
Did you know there's a list of the "20 Sexiest Female Democrats"? The truth is that Hillary is on the list, and the #1 lost her Congressional seat in the 2010 Democrat primary. Now, who is waging a "war on women"?
---
Online story update: "Authorities searched Sunday for a suspect in the shooting of a police officer in Ferguson, the St. Louis suburb where there have been angry protests since a white officer fatally shot an unarmed 18-year-old black man last month. * Although there were two protests about the Aug. 9 shooting of Michael Brown happening when the officer was shot Saturday night, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said at a news conference early Sunday that he didn't think they were related to the wounding of the officer." -- Wasn't "related" to Ferguson protests? He said the same thing on Saturday, too... does he believe any one but mainstream media will believe that if he repeats it often enough?
---
Online story update, too: "a contract employee was able to sabotage a regional control center and bring Chicago's two international airports to a halt. * via a swipe card, said employee entered around 5 a.m. Friday, 23 of 29 computer racks were damaged, and about 30 minutes later posted a suicide note on Facebook, according to a federal criminal complaint. * Paramedics followed a trail of blood past a gas can, two knives and a lighter and found the suspect slashing his throat," -- Hmmm.. a suicidal domestic terrorists at a minimum, but no government spokesperson will address it as such.
---
Online story: "- A shooting sent terrified patrons scrambling from a Miami nightclub around 1:00 AM Sunday and left 15 people wounded, including 5 girls between the ages of 11 and 17. * Many young people were at the site * at least three of the wounded were transferred to a pediatric unit, * investigators are interviewing the club owner to determine what type of club The Spot is and why so many underage children were there, -- Again.. the "war" is not one of racism.. it's a "cultural war" that communities will have to cooperate with law enforcement to solve.
---
HuffPost "headlie": "Obama: We misjudged ISIS" -- What do you mean, "we"? Obamageddon simply cannot.. no. will not take of accept blame/responsibility of neither his actions nor inactions, and even mainstream media is beginning to side with the Bush family.

Online story: "The 2015 Corvette comes with 650 horses, a supercharged V8 engine under the hood and a feature called Valet mode. * Along with being able to lock your entertainment system and compartments in your car, valet mode can also record what happens in the car while your gone, that includes audio. * The problem is, in plenty of states all over the country secretly recording audio of another person's conversation without their consent is a felony." -- Hmmm...a car that secretly records valets is a felony, but politicians a lying to voters, IRS agents lying to Congress, and the NSA recording our telephone calls never result in arrests or jail time.. what's wrong with this picture?
---
Online story: "Gov. Jerry Brown announced Sunday that he has signed a bill that makes California the first in the nation to define when "yes means yes" and adopt requirements for colleges to follow when investigating sexual assault reports. * the legislation will begin a paradigm shift in how college campuses in California prevent and investigate sexual assaults. Rather than using the refrain "no means no," the definition of consent under the bill requires "an affirmative, conscious and voluntary agreement to engage in sexual activity." -- Wow! don't get me wrong, rape is a violent, and inexcusable crime, but it looks like consenting couples are going to have to sign pre-pre-nuptials before going out on a first date. And what about minors.. will they have to get their parents to co-sign permission to be sexual? Oh, and what about minors who use their false IDs and give consent that isn't valid in a court suit? Looks like the lawyers in the CA legislature have created a permanent flow of work for recent law grads.
---
Comment about above... looks like minors can get birth control pills, Plan B, or abortions without parental consent, but now will have to get parental consent to be sexually active.

Online headline: "Ohio State football coach punishes fan who rushes the field" -- Good grief.. at least Woody Hayes tackled somebody on the other team..

Soapbox moment: Libs stand in line for days to buy the latest iPhone, none of which are made in America, yet rail against any corporate tax incentives that would make it beneficial for manufacturers to create jobs in America. Good grief... liberals.. we can't live with them and they want to ban guns so we can't shoot them.

Online story: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr was a leading figure in one of the biggest climate change marches to date. * But it seems Robert F Kennedy Jr was not so forthcoming when it came to questions about his own carbon footprint. * Confronted by a reporter asking if he would give up his phone and car, the environmental lawyer became visibly irate before grabbing the microphone and accusing her of ‘destroying democracy’ as a member of the press." -- Libs live their perfect lives in their minds, but want only others to live one in real life.

The PGA is going to need a format change in order to get our Ryder Cup teams better prepared. Currently, the purses are so big, there's almost a penalty for players to play aggressively once they've made the weekend cut. If the PGA would cut the purses in half, the give half of the purse to the winner, we'd see a lot more aggressive shots being taken when they are called for, which would make our players better match play players.

Hmmm.. seems businesses in the Merry Acres Business Park are suffering from a bad entry road that the city doesn't own nor is responsible for, and the city has told the business owners they are responsible for the repairs/maintenance. The City is right. On the other hand, most city streets are in rough shape, some downright dangerously so, but Council is spending money, money earmarked for transportation needs on projects such as the $244K RiverWalk bathroom instead. The Council has also voted the tunnel under thye rails at the Buena Vista Road "spider web", which was the most expensive option. Why wouldn't the Council vote for a better, less expensive option than use the savings to address other city street issues?

L-E headline: "Congressional Black Caucus Foundation honors Dr. Robert Wright" -- A good man by his on accord, Dr. Wright doesn't need to be "honored" by the "Black Congressional Caucus". In fact, the disassembly of the "CBC" would honor Dr. Wright's contributions better.
---
Let's look at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. Well, the New York Times, oft cited :bible" of the liberals did. In fact, via Wikipedia, "A New York Times article that investigated the caucus’s connections to corporate interests reported that from 2004 to 2008, the Congressional Black Caucus’s political and charitable wings took in at least $55 million in corporate and union contributions.[2] * The caucus says its nonprofit groups are intended to help disadvantaged African Americans by providing scholarships and internships to students, researching policy and holding seminars on topics like healthy living. * In 2008, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation spent more on the caterer for its signature legislative dinner and conference — nearly $700,000 for an event one organizer called “Hollywood on the Potomac” — than it gave out in scholarships, federal tax records show." In 2010, the Dallas Morning News reported that congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson had awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships to four relatives and a top aide's two children using foundation funds. The recipients were ineligible under anti-nepotism rules of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. I also remember members of Congressman Bishop's family and staff were getting scholarships illegally as well as reported in the Columbus L-E. Yes, disassembly of the CBC would honor Dr, Wright more appropriately.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Liberalism is simply opposing the conservative thinking of the day. So yes, Jesus was most certainly a liberal. And America was founded as a liberal nation. Get over yourself." -- Good grief.. I knew public educators were failing today's kids in teaching history, but this sounds like a public school graduate! America was founded by good people seeking religious freedoms and shaking government shackles... the two ingredients needed for a country to become great. What's sad is that those two ingredients are necessary for a great country to remain so.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “Justice cannot be for one side alone, but must be for both.” — Eleanor Roosevelt, American first lady (1884-1962)." -- Hmm, with all the copycatting Obamageddon has done for the liberalness of the Roosevelts, you'd think he knew this before he appointed himself the "Beer Summit" mediator, and before he appointed Pric Holder as the US Attorney General.
---
L-E's "Quotable": "If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading" - Lao Tzu, Chinese philosopher (604-531 B.C.) -- Quick.. somebody please call Obamageddon and tell him we HOPE he will CHANGE directions yesterday!
---
There's a purported "op-ed" commentary in the L-E today written by ANN MCFEATTERS, an op-ed columnist for McClatchy-Tribune. You know, you'd think that an "op-ed" commentary for McClatchy would be from a conservative rather than someone on its payroll.
---
L-E headline: "GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION * DOT BUYING IMAGE-BOOSTING RADIO ADS * Highway officials spending thousands of dollars in taxpayer money to boost image" -- Good grief.. the GA DOT could spend that money on road repairs rather than ads and $244K bathrooms on the RiverWalk, and get a lot better image boost.
---
L-E story: " A 33-year-old Columbus man was beaten and robbed early Sunday morning on Brennan Road, according to a police report. * The man told officers he was walking down the street around 2:15 a.m. when two black men and one black female, all believed to be in their early 20s, “jumped” him." -- Wow.. now just wait until that tunnel is built out there, and muggers have a controlled access/egress to pick out targets.

HuffPost headline: "Democracy Protests In Hong Kong Turn Violent" -- "democracy protests"... this must be totally confusing to low-info-voters in America.. the party for democracy in China is protesting to remove the shackles of government, while the Democratic Party here in America lures its base in with more and more government control of their lives.

Online headline: "FAA allowing some drones to lift off" -- Well, the FAA felt it wasn't empowered to ground Obamageddons's helicopter or Michelle's vacation transportation.

What is wrong with Republican strategists? Know Knothing Knunn has nothing she can advertise about that will win her votes, but she can appear to be a pathetic victim to PAC smear ads, and get sympathy votes ..sorta like the "runt of the litter" when shopping for a puppy.

Online story: "WASHINGTON (AP) - Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton say they are "blessed, grateful, and so happy" to become grandparents." -- What a sad...no, pathetic message "Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton" send...Can they not be simply former President and Mrs. Clinton, or Mr. & Mrs. Bill Clinton, or just Bill & Hillary Clinton?
---
You know....what we need is a volunteer tax code. This way, appreciative working citizens can look at the services received, and pay what's fair, and government employees will keep a "tip jar" on their desks that appreciative citizens can contribute. Also, if someone doesn't voluntarily contribute for government services, then said person shall not receive government service/aid. Yeah!

Online headline story: "Ferguson police officer wounded in shooting, authorities hunt 2 suspects * St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar told reporters early Sunday that the officer was shot after approaching two men at the Ferguson Community Center, which was closed at the time. As the officer approached, the men ran away. When the officer gave chase, "one of the men turned and shot," Belmar said. * Belmar said he did not think the officer's shooting was related to two separate protests about Michael Brown's shooting that were going on Saturday night around the same time." -- Good grief..the Police Chief saying he doesn't think this was coincidental to ongoing.. continual protests is as stupid an assessment as Obamageddon saying ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria acronym) is not associated with Islam.
---
Online "headlie": "POLICE: MOORE MUSLIM BEHEADING Had Nothing to Do With TERRORISM – Just Random Workplace Beheading" -- Excuse me, but has Jay Carney landed a job as the press agent for this Oklahoma PD? Now, how many Muslims/Islamics did Moore behead before beheading a non-Muslim ex-coworker?

Up until the late games, U of Washington was leading for this weekends "ugly uniforms" award, bytthen Syracuse hit the field.. even Oregon's ugly uniform designer must have felt he failed in comparison.

Online Juan Williams' commentary: "When Richard Nixon made a show of quitting politics in 1962 he famously taunted his liberal critics in the media saying “you won’t have Nixon to kick around anymore. * The question on my mind today is: what are conservatives going to do now that they don’t have Eric Holder to kick around anymore?" -- Good grief.. Including his own, there are plenty more jackasses to kick around.. and not all of them are Democrats.

Online story: "After the rocky rollout last fall of the ObamaCare website, the administration wants to re-enroll those already in the system in hopes of avoiding another technological embarrassment." -- "avoiding another technological embarrassment"? If you have to re-enroll (versus renew), that is "another technological embarrassment", but then again, using similar job creation criteria format, Obamageddon could claim "another 8 million" signed up.....

In Washington, DC, the mayoral race is between David Catania, a white, gay, a Republican-turned-Independent Councilman, and Muriel Bowser (I kid you not.. a properly named yellow dog Democrat) Councilperson who unseated former scandal-ridden (uh,, average/normal Democrat politician) mayor in the last primary. Last week, in their first debate, Catania zeroed in on Bowser’s efforts to reform public schools, whose students lag behind those in essentially every other major U.S. city in math and reading scores, You know.. Congress basically runs the local Washington government.. if Congress knew anything about education/education reform, wouldn't.. shouldn't the schools in Washington, DC be shining examples/models for public schools around the country?

Now the mines are closing, and the school big enough for 1,200 students sits at half capacity. * When the families leave, Principal Greg Napier asks them why. "Gotta have a job," they say." -- Hmmm.. no coal... no jobs.. and higher electrical costs.. the results of liberal base appeasement of Clinton and Obamageddon shutting down coals mines.

Chubb. .....What a great name for a bowling ball running back ...and he has a career waiting for him after football...working for "Pawn Stars".

L-E story: " When Walmart talks, people listen. And the mega-retailer speaks loudest when it makes the decision to build a large supercenter in your area of town, just as the Arkansas company plans to do at the corner of Victory Drive and Benning Drive in south Columbus. * Construction is expected to begin early next year on the 158,583-square-foot grocery and general merchandise store and take roughly a year to complete. It will be rising on 18 acres that included the former home of Baker High School, which opened in 1943 and roared through nearly five decades before closing in 1991" -- You know.. Walmart will build this store for less money than the MCSD said it would have to spend to rebuild of replace Baker High... and sadly, citizens of Columbus will benefit more from a new Walmart.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Georgia has the dubious honor of having the highest unemployment rate in the country; yes, the country. Gov. Deal’s solution: It is a conspiracy. That will certainly stimulate job growth." -- Good grief.. GA's job growth is one of the better ones in the country.. who "manuFACTures the Democrats' "facts"?
---
L-E's "Thought for Today": “To fight oppression, and to work as best we can for a sane organization of society, we do not have to abandon the state of mind of freedom. If we do that we are letting the same thuggery in by the back door that we are fighting off in front of the house.” — John Dos Passos, American author (born 1896, died this date in 1970)." -- Good grief..the Democratic Party platform is based on letting thugs in through the back doors of our borders and our voting booths!
---
L-E headline: "‘What Islam is — and what it is not’" -- Good grief.. has Dusty Nix become a messenger of Allah? If this is another side of Islam, then this side would benefit from a name change. Either that or destroy the jihadist element and show the world there' is a difference, and hope that Hillary understands there is a difference.
---
The L-E's "Looking back | Fifty years ago today, September 28, 1964" feature: " White restaurant operator Lester Maddox, his face flushed in anger, pushed and shoved four Negroes off his property today when they came to eat at his new cafeteria. * “Get off my property. I can run it the way I want to,” Maddox yelled at the four Negro clergymen." -- Hmmm isn't that the same Lester Maddox that won the Democratic nomination for Governor in 1966 but had less popular votes than Republican Party candidate Bo Callaway, but the Democratic Party majority GA House made Maddox governor over the wishes of the people of GA?
---
Mayor Obamalinson is trying to get her socialistic T.A.D. plans to look like the answer to all of our crime problems. In the L-E story, she says, " The violent crime rate in the area dropped 95%" as she tries to convince people that the Tom Cousins' East Lake/East Point project is successful because of government input. If anything, that 95% drop in crime rate for the area just moved to other neighborhoods. Based on the rates per 200,000 (which is Columbus' ball park figure) in the Atlanta area in 2010 were: 35+ murders, 33 plus forcible rapes, 806 robberies, 1269+ aggravated assaults, 2,988+ burglaries, 6,600+ larceny/thefts, and almost 1,900 vehicle thefts.

With Jameis Winston, Florida State is a definite points machine, but the FSU defense struggled in all its wins this year. Even "The Citadel" scored a couple of TDs. Perhaps the ratings folks should look a little closer before continuing FSU as the #1 team.

HuffPost headline/"fairy tale": "Oklahoma man beheaded female co-worker and stabbed another while reportedly shouting Islamic phrases * A disgruntled former employee beheaded a woman and stabbed another before he was shot Thursday afternoon during a workplace dispute in suburban Oklahoma City, police said. * (_*_)lton Nolen, 30, killed Colleen Hufford, 54, and also stabbed Tracy Johnson, 43 at the Vaughan Foods processing plant before an off-duty reserve Oklahoma County Deputy that works for the company shot him, * the (_*_) was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover, cops said. * He was in the process of converting to Islam" -- ""disgruntled former employee"? A damned jihadist on American soil is what he is.. Note: Policemen need more time at the firing range.. there's no reason the (_*_) should have left the scene except in a body bag.

Obamageddon needs to take one more "apology tour"... this time throughout the 50 states, and apologize for Pric Holder and for taking the Muslim "apology tour" 5 years ago.
---
Soapbox moment: Liberal mainstream media wants to ballyhoo Pric Holder's record on :civil rights.. Huh? How can you be thought to be a "civil rights" advocate when you trample on the civil rights of other Americans in the process? How is denying American voters the knowledge that others voting have the actual Constitutional right to do so? Instead of defending our borders, why is taxing American citizens to house and feed illegal aliens "fair" ? Refusing to prosecute government employees who attack American citizens based on their political views.. how is that "justice for all"? Oh, and how is superceding state's rights by bludgeoning its law enforcement personnel before enough evidence for a trial is even accumulated .. especially when the concern is based only on the color of the dead man's skin? If Pric Holder were truly an advocate for Civil Rights, Michael Brown would have been simply a man... not a black man.

Online story: "CHICAGO (AP) - A contract employee suspected of setting a fire at a suburban Chicago air traffic control center brought two of the nation's busiest airports to a halt for hours Friday, sending delays and cancellations rippling through the air-travel network from coast to coast. * Authorities quickly ruled out any ties to terrorism," -- Good grief.. if disabling a major city's airport isn't an act terrorism.. at least domestic whether there's any political or religious connection, then the Clintons has been called on to "define" terrorism.

I'm curious.. if Obamageddon was speaking at the UN as President of the US, why would he opt to spend a couple of nights frolicking about NYC? Wouldn't it be more stately to fly into NYC via helicopter, then fly back to Washington and be with his generals/advisors to initiate our military actions?
---
Online headline: "DOJ: Cops in Ferguson should ditch wristbands * The Justice Department said on-duty officers shouldn't be wearing dubious bracelets that surfaced this week." -- And I agree... but, as Hillsbury DOUGHgirl declared.. "what's the difference" in the Ferguson PD saying "I am Darren Wilson", and the DOJ saying "I am Trayvon Whatever"? The real offense to civil rights here is the DOJ bullying the Ferguson PD.
---
Another good thing about Pric Holder's resignation is that now that the Attorney General's office has been headed up by its First African American, and already had its First Female, Obamageddon can now look around to fine the BEST candidate to propose... Well, "best" for America, that is.
---
HuffPost headline: "U.S. Economy Grew 4.6 Percent In Second Quarter" -- Hmmm.. grew what.. "dimmer"? more depressing"? "deeper in debt"? With government figures.. you never know for sure.
---
Martin Luther King's "dream" cannot come one true until after Al Sharpton dies. Every thing that comes out of Sharpton's mouth is focused on color rather than character.
---
No matter how many more gun laws Democrats push for, one constant will always be evident.. no law is effective unless people volunteer to obey it.

My daughter's high school football team suffered its first loss last night. It was not something the young warriors did or didn't do on the field, it was lost by coaching staff decisions. Starting the second half with a 7-0 lead, and facing a 4th & 3 about their own 45, the coaching staff' decision was to go for the 1st down versus kickin the ball deep into the other team's territory so the opponent would have to traverse 75-80 yards to score. Instead, they had two big plays and scored from the shortened field. Later, after giving up 3 straight scores to be behind 7-21, our young men fought back and got two touchdowns to tie the score with but 5 minutes left. Instead of sending the kickoff long with the chance of containing the opponent deep in its own territory, the coaching staff called for a "pooch kick", and the opponents started from about midfield, and in 3 minutes, had put the go-ahead score (and winning margin) on the scoreboard. The opponents coach had his kicker smash it and pinned our young men deep. Game over.

Tale of two L-E headlines: "RUSSELL COUNTY MURDER-FOR-HIRE CASE * DEPUTY: GRAHAM REMOVED MONITOR" and "Attorney proposes ankle monitor program to curb jail overcrowding" -- You know.. a more effective measure would be to incarcerate first time non-violent criminals in harsh enough conditions to make them wish never to return, and violent criminals, especially murderers, be given the death sentence to be carried out within weeks of the sentence.
---
From above L-E story: "Garner, a local defense attorney, said he started a company called Etracker "to specifically carry out the Superior Court ankle monitor program in Columbus. * Garner said many of the people incarcerated are there for minor offenses. They're waiting for trial and can't afford bond. He said the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office is currently paying $50 a day for each healthy inmate, and the ankle monitors only cost $10 per day." -- Wait a minute... $10.00 a day?. $3,650.00 dollars a year? Is this a no-bid contract? Besides, why isn't this just an add-on to the gazillion-dollar radio network the citizens already pay for? If anyone collects "monitor fees", it should be the taxpayers so it offsets other penal cost invoked by criminals.
---
You know.. the education system is completely warped... a college now is forcing fraternities to accept females as "brothers". I guess some liberals feel sexual segregation is unfair to women. I also note, the same college did not order sororities to accept/recruit male students. What's next,, fraternities/sororities will be ordered to house non-students, too?
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Seventy-eight percent of Americans want Citizens United revoked, but Republicans filibustered the amendment again. Meanwhile, the Kochs are buying the Senate and House races, spending $300 million in 2014." -- Hmmm, and where is this "magic hat" all liberals seem to know where to go to find figures they can pull out of nowhere? We know very well, the L-E has not proof-editor to check spelling and such, but it's more obvious the L-E has no "fact checker" ... editor or software.
---
On the other hand: Observation.. the figures that libs seemingly "pull out of nowhere" are so full of crap,, it's getting to be obvious where they are pulling them out of.
---
You know.. the dream of most economic protesters is to make it "big" for themselves,, yet the only system that will allow such an outcome is the one they protest.
---
L-E headline: "REBEL-HELD TOWNS PROTEST U.S. BOMBING OF AL-QAIDA AFFILIATE * BY MOUSAB ALHAMADEE * McClatchy Foreign Staff" -- Good grief.. it looks and sounds like the McClatchy/L-E has its own Islamic jihadist staff member whining about getting a dose of the Islamic medicine. Why would any American paper give credence to this?

Friday, September 26, 2014

HuffPost "headlie": "Holder resigning: Attorney general backed rights" -- "backed rights"? How warped.. Did he back the rights of American citizens to know their neighbors were legal? Did he back the rights of American citizens to know all who vote are who they say they are? Did he back the rights of American citizens to be treated fairly by the IRS? Did be back the rights of the families of those killed at Benghazi? Did he back the rights of law abiding citizens to know they could count on our Constitutional rights? In a word.. NO!
---
Online headline: "Despite slow, troubled start, Holder leaves mark at Justice Department" -- Yeah, Holder left his "mark' on justice.. 666...6 years, 6 months, 6 scandals, pray that we recover.
---
Online headline: "Rev. Al Sharpton claims he is advising White House in search for new Attorney General" --
Hmmm.. is this a trailer for a Saturday Night Live skit?
---
Online story: "Controversial civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton says he is helping the White House pick the next U.S. attorney general." -- Well, at least Sharpton is not referred to as a civil rights LEADER.
---
Online story: "Journalists attending the annual Clinton Global Initiative have reportedly been kept in close quarters and given not so much as the freedom to go to the bathroom alone. * New York Times reporter Amy Chozick wrote about her experience on Wednesday, describing the basement where journalists were held, tight security presence and the press aide who actually followed her to the bathroom stall." -- Take note that this is a NY Times writer (reporter/journalist is sorta a stretch) who is generally thrilled to drink the Kool-Aid..
---
Democrat Gubernatorial candidate Jason Carter says the best thing for the economy is to have a middle class with money in its pockets. What he didn't say is that he knows how to do that, or that he wouldn't spend his every moment digging into their pockets to take more taxes.
---
L-E story: "(Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark) Butler noted that Georgia has added nearly 80,000 jobs over the last 12 months, giving it an annual job growth rate of 2 percent. That’s “very strong because the national average in job growth is only 1.8 percent,” he said." -- Hmm.. Governor Deal sees new jobs.. Jason Carter sees new pockets to dig into.
---
WTVM9 story: "COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -The Chattahoochee River is set to receive some much-needed upgrades this week thanks to the National Weather Service. * Rains take a huge toll on the river and the RiverWalk. There is major flooding most times during heavy rains, and the river forecast services in Columbus want to take away that danger. * Beginning Thursday, Sept. 25, flood stage levels on the Hooch will be lowered with the help of a new hydrologic system. * In turn, this will help to keep the area around the river safer during severe weather." -- Hmmm...Will someone please explain how one goes about controlling flood waters. Water, especially upstream flood water, takes the course of least reistance,, alway has, always will.
---
L-E headline: "Muscogee Marshal's deputies performing speed checks on Macon Road" -- Good grief, if there aren't enough Municipal Court papers to deliver or renters to be evicted, why not close the Marshall's office? Hey, may Chief Boren can have them brought in for impersonating CPD traffic cops?
---
L-E story: "(Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark) Butler noted that Georgia has added nearly 80,000 jobs over the last 12 months, giving it an annual job growth rate of 2 percent. That’s “very strong because the national average in job growth is only 1.8 percent,” he said.
---
L-E headline: " Giving religion a bad name" -- Oooops.. thought it was about what Obamageddon and the Democrats were doing to Christianity.
---
If you haven't heard about it, there's a series called "Black Jesus" being aired on some cable channel (google it for some video).. with the amount of cussing Black Jesus does, it must be based on the Gospel of Jeremiah Wright.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Thirty years ago America had 60 million guns and every few days local news reported on another shooting. Today we have 300 million guns and the first 10 minutes of every broadcast is shooting incidents." -- Good grief.. guns don't pull their own triggers. The difference now and 30-40 years ago was that murderers used to get the death sentence carried out.. it sent a message to those thinking about committing such crimes, and it took any chance of recidivism off the table.
---
L-E's "Thought for Today, “A child educated only at school is an uneducated child.” — George Santayana, American philosopher (born 1863, died this date in 1952)." -- Unfortunately.. those poorly educated, socially promoted and graduated are now parents, and not qualified to help their own children at home.
---
L-E story: "LANCASTER, N.H. — The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says a Georgia woman has been rescued from a Mount Washington trail after suffering an allergic reaction from an insect sting. * Conservation officers were assisted by officers from a local fire department, a search and rescue team, the U.S. Forest Service, the Appalachian Mountain Club and good Samaritans" -- Good grief.. is there such a shortage of real news that this item has gotten the attention of the NH Fish and game Department executive offices, mainstream media and the L-E? And look at the resources spent by various government agencies.. If they time to do this, then they have too many employees and resources.
---
Derek Jeter went out knocking in the game winning run.. wanna bet when Hollywood does a movie about it, an umpire will make a bad call denying Jeter of his civil rights?
---
L-E headline: "Filling your tank for less * Prices at the pump fall below $3 a gallon for much of the U.S." -- Hmmm.. everywhere but Columbus, GA.. maybe the DOJ will look into a somewhat monopoly situation in the Columbus distribution system.

You know, in a definite way, Obamageddon is responsible for the ISIS surge. If Obamageddon had protected.. had acted on those "lines in the sand" he drew, ISIS ISIS would have thought longer .. and harder about beginning its terroristic actions.
---
HuffPost headline: "Obama pledges to stamp out ISIS network" -- "pledge"? Good grief.. everybody knows that a "pledge" has no legal standing, but one coming from Obamageddon rings most hollow.
---
I still don't know for sure why Obamageddon refers to ISIS as "ISIL", but by doing so, Obamageddon groups Israel in with jihadists.
---
HuffPost headline: "Obama Acknowledges Ferguson Was An International Embarrassment" -- yeah.. it exposed the bigotry of the White House and the DOJ to the world.
---
Obamageddon said the world needs to find ways to improve religious relationships. He said we have to eliminate religious intolerances in our schools. Hmmm.. does that mean Obamageddon, Holder, and the ACLU are going to let God back in our public schools, and allow Christian based clubs to operate on high school and college campuses?
---
Online headline: "New tool to prevent texting while driving" -- Good grief.. now there's "a pill" for stupidity that only works if the "patient" follows directions, and "not following directions" is the problem to begin with. Simply ignore incoming text alerts for FREE.
---
The "Washington Examiner" has called former Senator Jim Webb, D-VA, running for the Democratic presidential nomination "Hillary's worst nightmare". ..WRONG! I think Hillewinsky's worst nightmare is Bill Clinton coming home and knocking on her bedroom door.
---
Obamageddon also told his UN audience that it's time to eliminate bigotry around the world. Hmmm.. sure would be nice if he, Pric Holder, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and the Democratic Party platform would lead by example.
---
Online story: " BP wants its money back — hundreds of millions of dollars of it — but a federal judge said Wednesday that the oil giant must stand by the agreement it made with the companies it compensated for losses blamed on the 2010 Gulf oil spill. * One construction company hundreds of miles from the coast received $13.2 million, but deserved $4.8 million at most, BP said. Another company selling "animals and animal skins" was overpaid about $14 million, and about 50 others shouldn't have been paid at all, the company said. * The judge agreed weeks ago to change the compensation formula for any future payments, but ruled Wednesday that a deal is a deal when it comes to the money BP has already paid out. Under that deal, claimants agreed not to sue, and BP agreed that no future court action could change their payments." -- Seems BP has brought up a point that the IRS should investigate.. I'm sure compensation for actual.. provable losses are exempt from tax liability, but what about overpayments that BP seems to have proven?
---
AG Pric Holder says he, too, has a mistrust of police....You know,, Paula Deen admitted to once, under the pressure of fear, to have thought of saying the "n-word", and mainstream media destroyed her career/business. Mainstream media has an obligation to destroy Holder.
---
With AG Pric Holder coming clean with his mistrust of police, it's only fair that law abiding American citizens and police be vindicated for mistrusting Holder and the DOJ for the positions on immigration, voter IDs, and Ferguson, and his failure to investigate Benghazi, "fast& Furious", IRS, and the swap of 5 GITMO terrorists for Tali-Bergdahl.
---
I mentioned yesterday that UPS uses Albany, GA as a shipping hub versus Columbus, GA. I find that convoluted because Columbus is a natural hub with the cities of Albany, Macon, Lagrange, even Atlanta, in GA and Alex City, Auburn-Opelika, Montgomery, Eufaula, and Dothan, AL all withing a 100 mile radius of Columbus. Where was Congressman Bishop on securing this plum for Columbus?
---
Speaking of Congressman Bishop, we haven't heard a recent peep out of... even about his wife Vivian, our Municipal Court Clerk, or her oft newsworthy family....
---
You know, liberal protesters have always depicted Corporate greed with CEOs playing golf while having no concern for those in distress. How come these liberal protesters don't seem to mind when Obamageddon goes to the golf course while the world is in crises?
---
HuffPost headline: "Sprint car driver accidentally killed by Tony Stewart was under the influence of marijuana" -- so goes the liberals number 1 argument about safety..
---
Online headline/story: "President Obama is making an area three times the size of Calif. off-limits to drilling and fishing in a bid to protect fragile underwater life. * The move to broaden the George W. Bush-era preserve comes as Obama seeks to show concrete presidential action to protect the environment" -- Hmmm.. wonder if he will "blame Bush" for initiating such a move, but you know.. this is more "style over substance".. more liberal folly. There's nothing to stop water flow, with pollutants, from freely flowing into said area on its own.
---
HuffPost story: "CVS has been illegally charging women for birth control, violating an Obamacare provision that forces insurers to cover generic contraceptives at no cost to women." -- You know what is going to happen... well, as I see it, since it is a low cost generic item that costs both the manufacturer to make, and for CVS (et al) to buy, CVS (et al) may just stop buying generic birth control pills, and since CVS (et al) will stop buying them, the manufacturer will stop making them, and subsidized OObamaCRAP policy holders will just not have access to free birth control pills any longer because there won't be any generic offering available.
---
L-E headline: "Courtyard Marriott opens overlooking river in Phenix City" -- Hmmm... this will become the nightmare of Mayor Obamalinson.. The new Phenix City will sell out before any rooms get booked in Columbus, so that's 99 rooms that will not be paying the "Hotel and regular sales taxes" in Columbus..every day.. all year long.. every year.
---
With the number of gun deaths caused by 16 & 17 years olds in the Columbus-Phenix City area, maybe those "Drug Free Zone" signs at our schools should be replaced by "Thug Free Zone", and start getting them out of the school system.
---
L-E headline: "Wind energy proposal would light Los Angeles homes" -- Good grief.. finally a suitable job for political windbags like Feinstein and Pelosi.
---
From the L-E's "Looking back | Fifty years ago today, September 25, 1964" feature: " Poster Child -
The Columbus chapter of the Association for Retarded Children will sponsor a “poster child” contest this fall among retarded children in Columbus and the surrounding area." -- Wow.. can you imagine the liberal "political correctness police" staging a protest in today's time? On the other hand.. the judges would have an easy time getting one to pick.
---
From L-E's "Online comment of the day" feature: “Her ‘liberal’ ideas may be threatening to regressive thinkers, but her openness to new ideas has obviously been healthy for the city. Regardless of your political persuasion you must admit her administration has been open and has acted in the best interests of all the citizenry. From Richard Dukes" -- First. Richard Dukes lives in Australia and has no clue.. secondly, is this guy listed on her's or the Muscogee Democratic Party employee list? No one has to agree Mayor Obamalinson "has acted in the best interests of all the citizenry". Her revenue negative projects will be a burden on the community for generations to come.
---
I'm curious.. I read in the L-E today, that one of our high school football teams is playing a game in Macon, GA tonight.. It's Thursday, and tomorrow's another school day. If the game goes quickly, it will be over around 9:30, and if the team gets on the buses while the final buzzer is sounding, the students may get back to Columbus around 11:30 PM. Why would a school system allow a Thursday night game that's nerly 100 miles out of town?

Online story: "President B(_*_)shar Ass(_*_)d said Tuesday he supports any international effort against terrorism" -- Of course ASSwad welcomes US airstrikes against ISIS in Syria! They get rid of the element wanting to overthrow his government plus keeps up Islamic hated for the US.
---
Again.. Egypt and Saudi Arabia have over 650,000 national soldiers trained and ready to go..now, but why aren't they being used to: 1 - combat/eradicate ISIS, and 2- demonstrate disdain/intolerance for Muslim jihadists to the rest of the world?
---
Online headline: "Fraternities at Wesleyan are ordered to become coed" -- Wow! Bet the applications for college and rush week just blew off the charts. Hope the fraternities went one further and require coed roomies and solo double bed. Of course, Wesleyan may become an all-male college. If so, back to twin beds.
---
Online story: "U.S. Soccer is standing by its decision to allow goalkeeper Hope Solo to continue to play while she faces domestic violence charges. * Solo is charged with two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault of her sister-in-law and 17-year-old nephew at a family gathering. * U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati said Monday the organization will let her play until the legal matter is settled. * "U.S. Soccer takes the issue of domestic violence very seriously. From the beginning, we considered the information available and have taken a deliberate and thoughtful approach regarding Hope Solo's status with the national team," -- "takes the issue of domestic violence very seriously"? Hmmm.. she got into a fistfight with a nephew, then punched his mom in the face in front of her family of witnesses, but US Soccer wants to see if she can get away with it in court before acting.. hmmm.. serious issue...NOT!
---
HuffPost story: "UNITED NATIONS (AP) - President Barack Obama glossed over some inconvenient truths Tuesday in his climate-change speech to the United Nations. " -- Whoa! Even mainstream media reporters are admitting Obamageddon lies about everything at any opportunity, even misconceptions that are dear to them. We have HOPE for CHANGE.
---
HuffPost headline: "Bin Laden's son-in-law sentenced * Sulaiman Abu Gh(_*_)ith was the highest-ranking al-Qaida figure to face trial on U.S. soil since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. * Chilling words he directed at judge" -- "Chilling words he directed at judge"? You know.. why would mainstream media publish his words so other jihadists Muslims could find "comfort.. direction" in them. If Obamageddon is going to give terrorists access to our court system, but not kill and bury them, then he could at least order that their "voice" be buried.
---
Online story: " Native tribes from the U.S. and Canada signed a treaty Tuesday establishing an inter-tribal alliance to restore bison to areas of the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains where millions of the animals once roamed. * It marks the first treaty among the tribes and First Nations since a series of agreements governing hunting rights in the 1800s * The long-term aim of Tuesday's "Buffalo Treaty" is to allow the free flow of the animals across the international border" -- Hmmm sounds like this will duplicate Obamageddon's open Southern border policy with illegal aliens.
---
Rickie Fowler, member of the US Ryder Cup team has a new haircut (including getting rid of his Leonardo DiCRAPrio look facial hair). It's more of a GI buzz with "USA" trimmed in. The British media calims it's “an exhibition of thuggish jingoism” that could make the biennial event “nasty.” -- Hmmm.. and what does the British media say about David Beckham's thuggish concoction of body tattoos... absolutely nothing. USA! USA! USA!
---
Hmmm... Dwayne :The Rock" Johnson has turned down the role of James Bond.. Thank goodness.. maybe whoever offered him that role should be banned from making James Bond movies.
---
HuffPost headline: "Ruth Bader Ginsburg Thinks Justice Anthony Kennedy Is Responsible For Halting Access To Abortions" -- Good grief... In Planned Parenthood v. Casey, Kennedy was one of three justices who authored the Supreme Court's majority opinion upholding a woman’s right to an abortion, and he caught conservative flack for that.. on the other hand, Justice Ginsburg has NEVER caught flack from the lefist mainstream media on any subject.. regardless of how she cast her vote.. You know, that tells me she looks at rulings based on her agenda rather than what the Constitution says.
---
Online story: "A Pennsylvania press conference against LGBT hate crimes on Tuesday turned personal when a Democratic state senator announced he is gay. * Jim Ferlo, an outgoing PA state senator who represents part of Pittsburgh, is the sponsor of a bill that would expand the state's hate crimes law to cover lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals. The legislature's current push to amend the law was sparked by a Sept. 11 incident in which two gay men were allegedly beaten in Philadelphia." -- You know.. "hate crime laws" should not be discriminatory nor exclusive of any groups. The fact that Ferlo is pushing this as a lame duck politician "outs" his bigotry as well.
---
HuffPost story: "FERGUSON, Mo. -- Hundreds of local residents gathered at two-closed door meetings Monday night to discuss what needs to change in this St. Louis suburb after weeks of protests in the wake of the death of an unarmed black teenager." -- Hey.. where's the concern of the DOJ about a police officer being brutally attacked by 6'4", 292 pound 18 year old man?
---
Online headline: "Bill Clinton blames slumping wages on low minimum wage, corporate greed" -- then why didn't/doesn't he blame his failure to cut taxes on the middle class when he first ran for president in 1992 on"government greed"?
---
Online story: "ARVADA, Colo. – Hundreds of students walked out of classrooms around suburban Denver on Tuesday in protest over a conservative-led school board proposal to focus history education on topics that promote citizenship, patriotism and respect for authority" -- Good grief.. is this not a direct condemnation of what liberalism has done to our education system?
---
Online story: "Peyton Manning is here to offer us all a somewhat obvious business lesson: legal pot is good for the pizza business. * Manning, the Denver Broncos’ quarterback who bought a whole bunch of Papa John's franchises just before Colorado residents voted to legalize recreational marijuana, said in a recent interview that legal pot has been a boon for sales." -- Hmmm.. makes you wonder if Papa Johns is going to offer "weed" as an ingredient on its pizzas.. sorta cure the munchies before you feel like munchies..
---
Wow.. just learned something disturbing today.. I knew our local mail goes to Macon to be processed before it's sent back to us.. and I knew that the Columbus L-E is actually published in Montgomery, AL then trucked back to us, but I didn't know that when you order next day service from UPS that its service center in Louisville, KY flies it to Albany, GA then trucks it back to Columbus. Guess the only "zip" we have in Columbus takes people to Phenix City then ferries them back to Columbus. Way to go, Mayor Obamalinson!
---
Online headline "Atlanta Mayor Reed: City Has Plan To Aid Homeless If Shelter's Water Is Turned Off" -- Good grief.. the Homeless at a Homeless Shelter might become re-Homeless. The ironic aspect is whether the Shelter is better off with the Atlanta water turned on or off.
---
Online headline: "Georgia could be first to have driverless cars" -- Heaven help us they don't have Alabama plates!
---
Online headline: "Commercial drones will mean big business for Georgia" -- Ooops, my bad.. thought they were talking about those droning infomercials we already have...
---
Online headline: "Groups Push To Register Immigrant Voters in Georgia As Deadline Nears" -- Hey... wait a minute... voter registration requires citizenship as well as residency!
---
L-E story: " Without comment and by a unanimous 8-0 vote, Columbus Council approved a $500,000 settlement with the family of a woman who died when she was struck by a Columbus police cruiser on Oct. 14, 2012." -- Good grief.. doesn't a person's choices count anymore? How much contribution to his/her personal accountability does a person make when illegally crossing a street from a parking lot to a bar in the wee hours? What a precedence setting fiasco for every liquor/drug involved incidence at Columbus night clubs!
---
From the L-E's "Today in History" feature, "On this date: In 1789, President George Washington signed a Judiciary Act establishing America’s federal court system and creating the post of attorney general." -- Good grief.. now Obamageddon has another "George" to blame for Pric Holder!
---
L-E headline: "OBAMA URGES WORLD TO FOLLOW U.S. LEAD ON CLIMATE" -- "lead"? Like the world follows anything but Obamageddon's failures..
---
L-E headline: "MALZAHN: AUBURN WON’T RECRUIT PLAYER WITH HISTORY OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE" -- Hmmm.. god start.. but how about adding players that have any arrests for any kind of violence...and this goes for all football programs!

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

Online story: " The government's own watchdogs tried to hack into HealthCare.gov earlier this year and found what they termed a critical vulnerability - but also came away with respect for some of the health insurance site's security features." -- "critical vulnerability"? "respect for some.....security features"? You know... even birth control pills/devices that promise 99% protection cannot prevent all pregnancies, and what's the difference at being "a little bit pregnant" and pregnant? The website is either "secure" or it's not.
---
I have an update and correction ... Algore did show up at the NYC "Climate Control" parade on Sunday.. so did Leonardo DiCRAPrio.. Both came in their personal jets and limousines What a way for them to make a statement about their concern for carbon footprints.
---
Speaking of "footprints", it sure would have been nice if all the concerned protesters in Sunday's NYC parade had picked up after themselves. Whatta mess they left for others.. but then again.. that's their modus operandi.
---
HuffPost "headlie": "Kerry: Time running out on climate" -- You know.. 7 years ago Algore predicted the Ice Cap would be completely melted by this time, yet satellite images show summer ice cap is thicker and covers 1.7 million square kilometers MORE than 2 years ago.
---
Another update.. those 3 Afghani officers who disappeared from a Massachusetts Mall were captured trying to get into Canada. Brings back memories from the 60s-70s when pacifists fled the US. Hmmm... are those 3 Afghanis pacifists going AWOL, or did they simply know something about ISIS plans for America?
---
It's scary that Mid-Eastern Islamists have a tougher job getting out of America than into it.
---
Mayor Obamalinson omitted a couple of pertinent facts in her glowing Copenhagen, Denmark assessment.. Denmark has a progressive Income tax percentage, so your tax depends on the income. It will typically start around 40% - 45% of the total income and can for high earners reach approx. 60% MARGINAL tax (not to be confused with total/average tax percentage). This is the sum of municipal, health (formerly regional) and state tax, and the current cost of 4 liters of gas (slightly more than a gallon US is $8.96. Now you know why "Joe Average" either doesn't own or can't afford to drive a car if he does own one.
---
From the "Jeopardy" department - HuffPost headline: "What's on Obama's agenda? -- What is the question most asked by Biden, the DNC, and mainstream media?
---
You know, if Obamageddon was doing a good.. even sorta good job defending our borders, leading our military, and positively influencing our economy, there would be no need to beef up the White House security.
---
Maybe we should dress our Navy SEALs like mainstream media journalists so they could have free access to the tents of ISIS leaders and could take care of business.
---
Online headline: "300 pound bear kills hiker in Northern New Jersey" -- Hmmm That's about the same size as the man who attacked Officer Wilson in Ferguson, MO.
---
Online story: "Lions middle linebacker Stephen Tulloch will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee while celebrating a sack in Sunday's game against the Packers. * Tulloch was injured in the first quarter after dropping Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After the play, Tulloch sprung to his feet and appeared to mimic Rodgers' signature celebration, the so-called Discount Double Check, but landed awkwardly and fell to the ground." -- Not For Losers.
---
You know, if today's mainstream media existed in the 1770s, England would probably still be in control.
---
Online story: "Lois Lerner, the former head of the IRS tax-exempt unit, speaking with Politico, gave her first media interview since the scandal broke 16 months ago over her division targeting conservative groups for extra scrutiny. Though she used the interview to claim she “didn’t do anything wrong,” she has twice refused to answer questions before Congress. * House oversight committee Chairman Darrell Issa is renewing his call for embattled ex-IRS official Lois Lerner to testify before Congress, after she used a media interview to assert her innocence and say she’s “not sorry for anything.” -- Pric Holder should be pouncing on this.
---
Can you believe that Obamageddon is asking voters in state elections "Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?" Good grief.. that was before OObamaCRAP took place, so who can answer "yes"?
---
L-E story: "Clorox is shutting down all operations in Venezuela, citing restrictions by the government, supply disruptions and economic uncertainty. * Shares jumped 3 percent before the opening bell Monday" -- Well, so much for Obamageddon's desire to model our business community after Hugo Chavez's version in the autographed book he got..
---
Online story: "An $11,000 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct levied against San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick resulted from his use of a racial slur during a game last week, Fox Sports reported on Sunday. * Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, citing an unidentified National Football League referee, said Kaepernick slung the "N-word" at Chicago Bears' defender Lamarr Houston as the two exchanged insults after a play in the Sept. 14 game. Houston is black and Kaepernick is biracial." -- Good grief... Obamageddon is biracial, and you don't think he's muttered a few n-words in his day... maybe even in a few White House pick up games of b-ball.
---
Online story: "African-American state lawmakers are demanding answers from Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp about the uncertain status of tens of thousands of voter applications gathered by a nonprofit focused on getting minority voters to the polls on Nov. 4. And they're vowing to get the U.S. Justice Department involved if Kemp's office drags its feet on the issue." -- "uncertain status of tens of thousands of voter applications gathered by a nonprofit focused on getting minority voters to the polls on Nov. 4"? You mean from that New Georgia Project that violated the "non-partisan" provision of the regulation that was a condition of such?
---
Online story: "Macon-Bibb County will consider adding a Sunday voting day before November’s general election." -- Good grief... and collect the ballots by passing the offering plates?
---
From this weeks City Council Agenda: "It is requested that council authorize the execution of a construction contract with River City Contracting Inc. (Columbus) in the amount of $234,501 for the Metro Police Building renovations. * The building is located at 525 10th Ave. The work consists of roofing, fencing, pipe bollards, exterior security bars, new doors and hardware, restrooms, drywall, mechanical ventilation system and battery-operated emergency lights." -- "exterior security bars"? Are we having troubles keeping prisoners in...or having a problem keeping criminal out?
---
From this weeks City Council Agenda: " OASIS SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPGRADE AND REAPPRAISAL — It is requested that council approve the purchase of the Oasis System upgrade (iasWorld) at $2,756,115 and Reappraisal at $1,700,000 from Tyler Technologies (Dallas, Texas); and Annual Maintenance in the amount of $184,560." -- Didn't we upgrade the Tax Assessor's computer/software systems last week or so because they hadn't been updated in 20+/- years? Why are annual upgrades/maintenance done in some aspects of the City but not in all?
---
From City Council Agenda: "Traffic volumes along Second Avenue are mainly pass-through travelers. Second Avenue takes residents that live on the north side of Columbus to their jobs at TSYS, Synovus, City Government and Aflac. It is also the direct connection from the J.R. Allen Parkway and the Interstate, therefore, it will be the route traveled by many whitewater visitors. It should operate at a high capacity; however, it should also serve as a gateway to our community that welcomes travelers with a diverse range of businesses, appropriate access management and ample parking and operate as City Village’s neighborhood servicing commercial corridor." -- If Council wants to improve traffic/traffic conditions, and save money on Second Avenue maintenance, Council should issue a ban on dump trucks carrying quarry rock down Second Avenue. A great deal of the route is basically asphalt laid on top of the old brick road bed, and the dump trucks constantly destroy the asphalt.

L-E's "Thought for Today": “Ours is a problem in which deception has become organized and strong; where truth is poisoned at its source; one in which the skill of the shrewdest brains is devoted to misleading a bewildered people.” — Walter Lippmann (1889-1974)." -- Wow.. this is the creedo and goal of the Democratic National Committee and the lifestyle verse of Obamageddon and his spokesteam.

HuffPost story: "CAMP EDWARDS, Mass. (AP) - Police and military officials were searching Sunday for three soldiers from the Afghanistan National Army who went missing during a training exercise at a Cape Cod military base. * They were participating in a U.S. Central Command Regional Cooperation training exercise at Joint Base Cape Cod, U.S. military officials said. They arrived at Camp Edwards on Sept. 11 and were last seen at the Cape Cod Mall in Hyannis. * There is no indication the soldiers pose any threat to the public, military officials said." -- "missing....arrived September 11.... at Cape Cod Mall...no indication (they) pose any threat"? -- Good grief... Obamageddon has epitomized the oxymoron "military intelligence"! How can our government give Islamic officers training and... AND the opportunity to DISAPPEAR!

---
Hmmm makes you wonder if Pric Holder was at that Mall passing out "fast&furious" weapons.

---
HuffPost headline: "Dianne Feinstein Wants NFL Players Accused of Domestic Violence To Be Benched" -- Hmmm.. sorta back(_*_)wards to me.. how about "NFL Players accuse Diane Feinstein and 54 other Senators for Domestic Violence"?

---
Variation headline: "Calif. senator urges NFL to act" -- and vice versa.

---
NFL... "National Felony List"... "Nightmare For Ladies"?

---
Speaking of the NFL.. I have a new rule change I'd like to see:
With all the money QBs make and with all the special rules in force to protect them, then the QBs should earn their money.. especially in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter. Let's make field goal attempts that would put a team ahead during the last 5 minutes illegal. A field goal to create a tie or put more points on the board that don't give you a lead would be "OK", but instead of a QB spiking the ball/calling time out with 5 seconds on the board so some soccer kicker can come in and win the game with a chip-shot kick, make the team go for a touchdown so the other team has an opportunity to stop the play. Put some real excitement back into close games!

---
You know.. how can the NFL.. or even fans be upset at the abundance of off field violence cases players are involved? Except for the soccer kickers and maybe a QB or two, these men are basically hired for their violent nature, and it's not something easily turned off when they leave work.

---
Online headline: "Climate change takes center stage in NYC * Hundreds of thousands took to the streets of Manhattan on Sunday to declare action on climate change days before a U.N. summit." -- Good grief.. 100s of 1000s don't even slow down traffic in NYC, but where was Algore.. Jesse and Al for that matter.

---
From above story: ""We're going to lose our planet in the next generation if things continue this way," said Bert Garskof, 81, as a family member pushed his wheelchair through Times Square. * He had first heard about global warming in 1967, "when no one was paying much attention," said Garskof, a native New Yorker and professor of psychology at Connecticut's Quinnipiac University." -- Good grief.. the professor was 34 when he first started claiming the world was coming apart at the seams.. and Professor Garskof was already 31 when Jack Weinberg uttered the immortal declaration of the 60s, "Don't trust amyone over 30".

---
Online story: " Yemen's prime minister resigned Sunday, the state news agency reported, following days of violence that left more than 140 dead" -- Ooops, my bad... I thought he had "resigned" maybe got a contract extension with a performance bonus. In the immortal word of Emily Litella, "Nevermind".

---
HuffPost headline: "Emma Watson's speech takes UN by storm * The actress, in her position as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, gave a rousing talk in which she posed a challenge to the audience." -- Good grief.. how can a Hollywood "babe" have credibility to speak of world-wide women's rights? She probably would have a better chance to be accepted in the Middle-East if she took selfies of herself wearing a burqua rather than her birthday suit.

---
Hmmm... another day.. another GM recall.. this time 220,000 with brake issues that could cause a fire. GM has had recalls of over 28,000,000 vehicles just from Feb-June this year alone..That's almost 3 years of production, and we'll never know how many other cars would have been recalled if it weren't for the "Cash For Clunkers" program.

From the "incredible things you find out looking for other things on the Internet" department: "Believe it or not, chocolate not only has health benefits, but can actually help you get a better body and get fit, and in this article, you're going to discover how you can use chocolate to help you with cravings for sweet things and also to help you enhance your cardiovascular fitness. * I hope you're sitting down, because now a recent study has actually shown some means by which chocolate may actually lead to fat loss" -- This is as deep as I read the article.. when you find the ultimate excuse to eat more chocolate, you stop reading in case there is a "but" later on.

Our Mayor Obamalinson is home from Denmark on a super liberal high. She sees adding more bicycles and less guns as the way to stop crime. She sees replacing low income housing with higher income housing as the way to stop crime. She sees more loitering in our parks as the way to stop crime. She sees Utopia as the only goal of government. She should watch "Utopia" and read "Lord of the Flies" and "Animal Farm" again. And how are T.A.D.s going to help .. by raising the costs of living in such areas? What's that going to do... put more opportunities in the "End Homeless in 10 Years" committee?

---
L-E story: "The former mayor of Tampa once told (Mayor Obamalinson) that it is not where the crime is occurring that holds the answer; it’s where the crime is coming from. She asserted that if you tracked the addresses of the perpetrators of crime, you would find that by and large they come from isolated areas of economic distress and urban blight." -- Good grief.. Mayor Obamalinson is acting like she's in a "V-8" ad and someone just slapped in the forehead! Why would anyone need a poll or outside commentary to understand the relationship of poverty and crime... or that dependable jobs, self-esteem confidence and programs that support a complete family are the best answers to eliminating crime and poverty?

---
L-E story: "When Columbus Council meets Tuesday afternoon, members are expected to settle a nearly two-year claim against the city after a police cruiser struck and killed a woman crossing North Lumpkin Road to Club Ciroc." -- At 12:30 AM.. someone crossing the road to or from a bar is probably under the influence of alcohol, and probably not able/capable of making value judgements of risk/reward for jaywalking a busy street. Where is the personal responsibility of the victim in this settlement/ Further.. aren't the taxpayers of the community the real victims here?
---
Why is it that government programs are focused on hand-outs rather than hand ups? When a government representative re-contacts a recipient of government help, it should be to check on the progress of such help, not to go back to see if they need more this year. Private banks don't loan money to businesses then go back the next year to loan them more for the same project.
---
L-E headline/story: "Inquirer: Two years later, dilapidated house to go on the list * This year, we have $100,000 that we'll be able to invest in demolitions," (Deputy City Manager David) Arrington said". -- Good grief...ridding the community of eyesores is considered "investing"? It's a NECESSITY! Dilapidated and abandoned vacant buildings are a cost to the taxpayers, and getting the land cleared give the City (thus the taxpayers) quicker relief in selling said property and collecting the back taxes and demolition costs. Said buildings should be a priority, rather than a get-to-it-when-we-can project. Heck, just not building roundabouts and $244K toilets would fund all the current demolition needs.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " If God does indeed cry, He must have shed many, many tears over the years because of all the people killing and dying in the name of religion." -- "If God cries"? This soundoffer obviously does not know God.. God gave up His only Son to make it possible for us to enter heaven. God did not create religion.. that is man's doings. God created a pathway to heaven.
---
L-E headline: "After White House breach, lawmakers want Secret Service to shape up" -- Good grief.. what's it matter to "lawmakers"? We need the lawbreaker, Obamageddon, to address this.. and the behavoir of his Secret Service mingling with alcohol and "women" in foreign countries.
---
L-E headline/story: "ATLANTA — State officials expect adding photos to food stamp cards will cost Georgia more than $7.7 million next year" -- Hmmm $7.7Million for 900,000 recipients is a little over $8.50 per photo-ID card. If true ID is part of the deal, then millions will be saved in frad annually, and 900,000 people will have state issued photo-IDs to vote with, The only folks objecting are Democrats.. Are Democrats against fraud detection in welfare and voting?

HuffPost headline: "White House intruder was carrying a knife * After jumping over the front gate, Omar J. Gonzalez made it all the way to the entrance of the building before getting tackled by security." -- Well, Obamageddon has his own body guards "do something" when someone illegally crosses HIS border .
---
HuffPost headline: "Security breach prompts more White House security" -- Well, Obamageddon has his own body guards "do something" when someone illegally crosses HIS border .
---
Online headline: "Second Arrest In Two Days For Trying To Enter The White House Unlawfully" -- Hmmm.. what's going on here.. a voter registration drive? Maybe if theses guys had photo-IDs, they could have entered without the fanfare.
---
Online story: "Five men who are believed to be gang members broke out of the Madera County lockup late Friday night, sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart said. The inmates were gone for about an hour before corrections officers discovered they were missing around 9:15 p.m., she said.* The men were being held in custody on various charges including attempted murder and armed robbery, Stuart said. It's unclear how they escaped, she added." -- Good grief... why didn't Obamageddon just swap these terrorists with Mexico for Sgt Tahmooressi!
---
HuffPost "headlie"/story: "El-Sissi: Egypt Will Give Any Support Required In Fight Against ISIS *
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi said he is ready to help the U.S.-led coalition. Asked if Egypt might provide airspace access or logistical support for airstrikes, he said, "We are completely committed to giving support. We will do whatever is required." * But he appeared to rule out sending troops, saying Iraq's military is strong enough to fight the militants and that "it's not a matter of ground troops from abroad." -- "he appeared to rule out sending troops"? Hmmm.. I do believe this appears to trump the HuffPost claim that El-Sissy will give ANY needed support.
---
HuffPost headline/story:"Obama Faces Mission Creep Questions * President Barack Obama's military campaign against the Islamic State group already has extended beyond the limits he first outlined." -- "mission creep"? And what's new? For that matter.. what's NOT creepy about anything Obamageddon has done in office.. he's "creeped" up on our Constitution, he's "creeped" into our state's rights, he "creeped" into our doctors" offices, he's "creeped" into our reverence for marriage.. so how come mainstream media finally picks ISIS as when it will notice "mission creep"?
---
Because of Michelle Obama's directives, schools cannot hold cookie/cake sales to raise funds anymore, but... BUT.. White House vending machines are stocked with "Honey Buns" and other 500+ calorie delights.
---
Oregon wins the uniform award this week.. again... well, again. May have to give Oregon :Hall of Shame..uh..Fame" status and retire them from the competition. Of course it might be fitting to give them a new mascot..Oregon Ugly Ducklings.

Online headline/story: "Mom arrested for letting kids play outside * The police officer who arrested Tammy Cooper said he received a call that her children were playing in the street unsupervised. Cooper said she was sitting in a chair on her porch a few feet away at the time. * Cooper said her children, ages 9 and 6, were riding their motorized scooters in a cul-de-sac when the officer arrived. At that point, she was informed a neighbor had accused her of child endangerment. * After reviewing the details of the case, the Harris County District Attorney dropped the charges, but that didn’t prevent Cooper from spending a night in jail. * Cooper said she was handcuffed, put in the back of a police car and forced to spend 18 hours behind bars. * And now, the La Porte mom is suing the police department." -- Hmm.. believe it or not, this was in Texas, not California or New England!
From above story: " KPRC could be seen reaching out to the neighbor who reported Cooper to police. The woman declined to comment." -- "declined to comment"? Well, I think she had opened up her mouth quite enough already.
---
You know, liberals are appalled at the scandals in the NFL. The amount of domestic (and other) violence associated with NFL players goes to demonstrate, no reveal, how futile "income redistribution programs" are, even if successful.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Conservatives ponder the reason working class and middle class people won’t vote for them. Hint: You ignore those who actually produce goods and services." -- Good grief.. it's obvious this LIV has no clue to the economic cycle.. When businesses thrive.. jobs grow and poverty wanes. When businesses are choked by incessant government taxes and regulations, businesses cease.. so do those jobs.. and poverty grows.
---
Liberal voters don't comprehend is that once the hand that feeds you has no food left, your choice becomes to eat the hand that fed you, and after that you become your own food source.
---
As hard as it is to FIND a job in Obamageddon's term of office, try and comprehend how hard it is for businesses to keep existing jobs open.
---
L-E commentary column headline/story: "Stop complaining and do something * Comments under a post about the White Water Classic football game were quickly accused of being racist, and people began to bicker on the subject. A frustrated commenter said, "Another example of closed minded racism here… Can't wait to leave the South." * That commenter felt at her wit's end, no doubt, but leaving town won't make racism disappear -- neither here in Columbus, nor wherever she may go next. If, however, this commenter chose to take a continual stand against racism in her own way, the situation may improve." -- You know.. it's really not an issue about racism.. it's evolved to a deeper rooted problem about culturism. but if someone is still convinced it's about racism, and wants things to change, she must stop being a racist herself.. She'll be surprised how different thing really are.
---
From L-E feature of real estate sales: "5555 Whittlesey Blvd.: GMRI Inc., a Florida corporation, to ARCP RL Portfolio VII LLC; $3,509, 574" -- Hmmm... Council should be on top of this as that property was carried on the tax digest at about $33,670,000.00, and this could represent a 90% drop in property tax revenues.

Ding Dong Dammit! GO, State, GO!

Saturday, September 20, 2014

HuffPost story: "On Wednesday, six Russian aircraft entered the United States' air defense identification zone (ADIZ), an area beyond sovereign U.S. airspace, according to a statement from NORAD, a U.S. and Canadian aerospace command, and U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM)." -- Guess Putin is "drawing his own RED lines".
---
HuffPost headline: "Huge 'Hole' Discovered In Tiny Galaxy Brimming With Stars" -- Oooops, my bad.. thought mainstream media just noticed that Obamageddon was not one of the Hollywood A-List invitees
.
---
Online story: "Hidden camera footage released by the animal advocacy group Mercy For Animals appears to show dairy employees beating and abusing cows at Winchester Dairy in New Mexico. * The dairy has since fired all employees and referred the offenders in the video to law enforcement, according the Associated Press." -- Hmmm.... maybe the NFL should hire dairy farm ranchers to coach the football teams.
---
Online story: "Washed-up entertainer Cher, 68, a hater of the pro-freedom, pro-Constitution Tea Party movement, those patriotic Americans who are opposed to the insane federal debt and confiscatory taxation and government tyranny, has referred to those in the grassroots movement as teabaggers, homophobes and racists. * Of course the Tea Party movement has nothing to do with sex, skin-color, or “teabagging,” but Cher may have her own racist problems, * According to a new lawsuit — obtained by TMZ — Cher was auditioning dancers for her “Dressed to Kill” tour in 2014 when choreographer Kevin Wilson said he particularly liked “a minority female dancer.” Wilson claims Cher responded, “We have too much color onstage.” * Wilson claims in the suit — filed by attorney Perry Wander — Cher then told him to find a white, blonde dancer. Wilson further claims he was instructed “not to cast anymore dark skinned black dancers on the tour.” " -- Where's Sharpton? Where's Jackson? Where's mainstream media? Where's K(_*_)nye!

Libs are having a hard time juggling possibilities vs probabilities of "boots on the ground". Of course, libs are not military experts nor know anything about winning conflicts in a succinct/timely manner. Appeasing liberals has caused catastrophes in Viet Nam, the Middle-East, and now ISIS.
---
L-E headline: "White House starts new drive to prevent sex attacks on campus" -- You know, with the prolific growth of sexual assaults against women on college campuses, I'd like to know how many of the assaulters would not have been there except for easy access student loans..
---
Talk about the simple truth being the best response, a retired general summed up Obamageddon's ISIS plan in a nutshell... "you don't win wars with unreliable allies".
---
L-E headline: "FRANCE JOINS U.S. AGAINST ISLAMIC STATE OVER IRAQ" -- Hmmm just proves my point above... France's national language would be German if the US hadn't bailed them out in WWI and WWII, and Viet Nam was France's fault, and just look at the boiling issues in West Africa today.
---
L-E story: "A rapidly expanding digital network that uses cameras mounted to traffic signals and police cruisers tracks the movements of millions of vehicles across the U.S., regardless of whether the drivers are being investigated by law enforcement. * The license plate scanning systems have multiplied across the U.S. over the last decade, funded largely by Homeland Security grants, and judges recently have upheld authorities’ rights to keep details from hundreds of millions of scans a secret from the public." -- You know, I COULD be for this if it was used responsibly.. but with what we've learned about government abuse of info by Google, the NSA, the IRS, and the DOJ, we need to be rallying for ending this invasion of privacy. The potential for government profiling of non-criminals greatly outweighs the possible benefits of tracking illegal aliens, and terrorist suspects.
---
The "profiling" part of above really is creepy. Courts rile against profiling of criminals and ethic groups as it is, but courts haven't protected everyday Americans from the National Security departments profiling their lives.
---
Government continues to amaze me with ways it can waste money... and opportunity. Columbus Tech's campus security team runs around in high powered pursuit vehicles when some battery powered vehicles would serve just as well for its, what, 6 blocks of campus to cover? In addition, such vehicles would be "greener" for campus use, and... AND.. give a hands' on flow of vehicles for classes on maintenance of futuristic vehicles.
