Oh...the sales tax reports for retail sales of recreational marijuana in Colorado are a big flop. Government projected it would get $33 Million in the first 6 months. But revenues barely brought in $11 Million. This is why government sucks at creating jobs. Most marijuana sales in Colorado stayed on the "streets" because it's cheaper and not taxed.

You know, Obamageddon must have learned something from Queen Pelosi. She told us all that we couldn't know what was in OObamaCRAP until it was voted on. Obamageddon is saying the same thing by saying he won't let us know what's in his Immigration Reform Executive Orders until after we vote in November.

Online story: "The Pac-12 has fined USC athletic director Pat Haden $25,000 for approaching the sideline and arguing with officials in USC's game against Stanford on Saturday, the conference announced Monday." -- Hmmm.... sounds like the Pac-12 referees have ditched their yellow flags in favor of "red" ones.
---
Online story: "Philly Mayor Michael Nutter confirmed Monday that he will sign a bill into law that will make his city the largest in America to decriminalize marijuana possession, Philly Mag reports. Essentially it softens the penalty for such an offense from possible jail time to a $25 fine. * “There’s no more handcuffs, no more bookings, no more criminal record " -- Wait a minute! if you "decriminalize marijuana possession" but fine someone for possessing it, it becomes a illegal tax on possessing an illegal product. Then why not do the same for possessing stolen property,,, pretty soon the Mayor will have an empty prison... and a city empty of law-abiding citizens.
---
Online story: "The cost of getting caught with a little weed in Santa Fe, New Mexico will drop to just $25 max, thanks to a City Council vote Wednesday to decriminalize marijuana. * When the ordinance goes into effect, those caught with an ounce or less of marijuana in arts loving Santa Fe will be hit with a civil fine." -- Santa Fe will find itself in the same mess as Philidelphia.

Talk about a post-election, lame duck board. the MCSD was pathetic last night. Seems the only subject that fired anyone up was whether or not the taxpayers pay for their meal after the meeting. In the interest of school interests, why don't the individual board members meet their spouses/significant others and go out to eat in their own districts to spread the wealth and generate SPLOST revenues? The at-large member can eat anywhere she chooses.
---
It's ironic that with the shortage of revenue, the MCSD board still wanted taxpayer paid perks, yet when faced with a way to conserve revenue, rejoiced at reducing summer layoffs from 69 to 12. Let's face it, if a process determined that 69 people could be eliminated, then why bring them back on board when revenue sources were found/juggled? It had already been determined that those 69 were not "necessary", so why not make the cuts permanent and look at the found/juggled revenues as more useable in classroom ways? Besides, how bad are the 12 people not rehired going to feel. There was individual solace in being 1-of-69, but being 1-of-only-12 is pretty devastating.

L-E story: "The (MCSD) board will discuss repairing the stage at Arnold Middle School. The existing stage is 55 years old. Dry rot , mold and mildew have damaged the existing wood structure and the floor has dropped more than two inches in one area of the stage making it no longer usable." -- This is the result of not making ongoing maintenance a priority. The maintenance budget is but a joke. A proper maintenance/funded depreciation budget should command 15% of the budget, but that's not possible in a budget that prioritizes salaries and benefits to personnel versus the community/students needs.

L-E "headlie": Local leaders learn more about tax referendum that isn't a tax" -- Good grief...a tax that's not a tax but generates new tax revenue. Did Bill Clinton make this up following his unkept campaign promise to reduce taxes
---
Online headline: "Michelle Obama stumps for Nunn in Ga. Senate race" -- Hmmm... didn't we just hear that Bill Clinton is stumping for Know Knothing Knunn as well. Guess this proves that politics indeed does create strange bedfellows.. Hmmm. Michelle and Bill in bed together. Must be a side effect of his anti-sexual-addiction medicine.
---
WTVM9 News headline: "Sen. Josh McKoon kicks off campaign in Columbus" -- District 29 is in good hands with Josh. Support and vote for his re-election.
---
Online headline: "Ray Nagin, former New Orleans mayor, begins serving 10-year sentence" -- Well, if he started serving when he should have, he'd be getting out instead of going in.
---
Online story: "Two Russian strategic bombers conducted practice cruise missile attacks on the United States during a training mission last week * The Russian Tu-95 Bear bombers were tracked flying a route across the northern Atlantic near Iceland, Greenland, and Canada’s northeast. * Analysis of the flight indicated the aircraft were conducting practice runs to a pre-determined “launch box”—an optimum point for firing nuclear-armed cruise missiles at U.S. targets, said defense officials familiar with intelligence reports." -- Good grief.. why is Russia going to such efforts and expenses? Why don't they just encamp on our Mexican border and wait for the DOJ to supply them with missiles and bombs ala "fast&furious"?
---
Online story: "AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - While public debate raged over who should play Southern belle Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone With the Wind," producer David O. Selznick was trying to figure out how to get the movie past Hollywood's morality censors by tamping down the novel's racist overtones while portraying the South in the Civil War. * Black activists implored Selznick not to make the movie, with the African Youth Congress calling it "un-American, anti-Semitic, anti-Negro, pro-KKK and a glorification of Southern lynch society." * Selznick's insistence on barring racial slurs, most notably the n-word, likely saved the movie, said Steve Wilson, the Ransom Center's film curator." -- It was 1939... Contrary to popular liberal beliefs, black America had a voice, and white America had a conscience.. Now, 75 years later, only rap songs and movies starring blacks spew the n-word. Is this the progress Dr King dreamt about?
---
Whatta joke... Josh Less-than Earnest told the Press Corps that there might be something new in Obamageddon's speech Wednesday. Good grief...even his staff doesn't expect much from him.
---
I'll bet that Obamageddon wants to schedule a Golf on the Gulf Summit with ISIS decapitators? Bet he feels he could teach them how to correct their nasty slices.
---
Pric Holder, commenting about Ferguson, MO, has stated that although he's the Attorney General , he's also a black man. Maybe we need a black woman like Condoleezza Rice or any white as our next Attorney General so ever person will be treated fairly.
---
Online story: "Bob Beckel of The Five (Fox News) says that Climate Change is a bigger threat to the United States than the Islamic extremist terrorist super group ISIS." -- Hmmm.. do you think Blob Beckel forgot "The Five" is on Fox, not Al Jezeera with Algore?
---
WRBL 3 news story: "HARTFORD CITY, Ind. (AP) - An attorney who habitually appears in court without socks faces sanctions including possible fines if he shows up without them again in one Indiana courtroom." -- Hmmmm...Confirmation that even the courts think something stinks in the court system.
---
WRBL 3 story: "TALLINN, Estonia (AP) - President Barack Obama said Wednesday that the United States will not be intimidated by Islamic State militants after the beheading of a second American journalist and will build a coalition to "degrade and destroy" the group." -- "Intimidate? It couldn't even keep Obamageddon from his appointed golf rounds.
---
L-E headline: "Inquirer: Vegetation causing problems for lakeside residents" -- Hey, report it as hydroponic marijuana farming, and Colorado will send students to harvest it all.
---
Online story: "Next month, for the first time in state history, some Georgia voters will be able to cast their ballots on a Sunday. * In an effort to boost turnout, DeKalb County — the state’s richest source of Democratic votes — is about to name Oct. 26 as an extra day to vote, as well as a day of rest." -- Good grief... why not just let preachers sermonize how their members fill out their ballots and drop them in the offering plates!
---
Jason Carter is campaigning on the Hope Scholarship problems: "“HOPE Scholarship – HOPE is vanishing. Under Governor Deal’s failed reforms, HOPE continues to cover less and less of the costs of attending college. Every year more high-achieving students will be left behind, unable to go to college. It’s already happening: For the first time in decades, enrollments at two-year, four-year, and technical colleges across Georgia declined in 2012.” -- Governor Deal had no input in HOPE. HOPE was Zig Zag Zell's 'baby", and instead of helping students get a college education, it has done little but raise the number of professors hired and their salaries, which has raised the tuition costs at an inflation-stripping pace.
---
Obamageddon, who campaigned on stopping the Mid-East war in midstream is now going to re-jump start it to welcome the next president who Obamageddon can then blame for not helping his legacy.
---
Obamageddon is in panic mode...Not because of scandals and war, but because mainstream media is asking him the same Fox News questions mainstream media use to answer for him.
---
After looking at the mismatch of Div 1-AA teams playing Div 1, and Div II schools, I'm waiting for the eventual NCAA Players' Union to file a class action suit on behalf of the parents of players at small colleges against coaches who subject their kids to reckless endangerment for scheduling mismatched games.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": " A solution to the Gov. Deal vs. the state Ethics Commission debacle: an independent federal investigation." -- Hmmm, where's this lib when it comes to calling for an independent, federal or otherwise, investigation into Benghazi, "fast&furious", the DOJ, multiple IRS areas, and other White House originating scandals?
---
L-E headline: "OBAMA TO BROADEN U.S. EffORT TO COMBAT MILITANTS" -- Hmmm... everywhere but in Ferguson, MO and cities close by.....
---
Georgia lost two of its treasures over the weekend.. The Mott House and Truett Cathy.. Both will live in memories and pictures, but Truett Cathy will live eternally.
---
L-E's "Online comment of the day": “Clearly this man was innocent it’s sad how our judicial system is so unfair against us. Quick to determine we are guilty instead of investigating our innocence. I am so happy our jurors saw this man was justifiably innocent.” — From M***** L***** on the story about Kareem Lane being found not guilty of the murder of then-superintendent Jim Burns" -- Hmmm... Too bad Officer Wilson of Ferguson, MO has not been given this kind of support by the same mainstream media that just highlighted this comment.
---
L-E story: " CHICAGO — ‘Chicago Fire’ actress Molly Glynn died Saturday, a day after she was hit by a falling tree while biking on a north suburban forest preserve trail, officials and Glynn’s husband said." -- Hmmm.. Chicago must have the same folks on its "Save the Trees" committee as Lakebottom Park here in Columbus... a tree is not dead nor needs removing until it falls on its on accord... or on a person or car.. whichever comes first.
---
L-E story: "A 16-year-old aggravated assault suspect aimed a gun at another 16-year-old boy and pulled the trigger several times on Pembrook Drive Monday, according to a Columbus police report. * Police say the teen pointed the pistol at the victim in the street near the 1000 block of Pembrook Drive around 8:30 p.m. It is unclear whether the gun did not go off because it was not loaded or because of a default with the weapon.
* The juvenile suspect's name is known to police. A sufficient physical description was not available." -- "A sufficient physical description was not available." ? WRONG! maybe a "sufficient physical description" wasn't given because it was convenient not to do so, but it was available.
---
L-E headline: "GENERAL ELECTRIC GIVES UP ON CONSUMERS * GE selling home division to Electrolux for $3.3B; company will shift focus on industrial machines" -- That's a little backasswards... Many consumers, like myself, gave up on GE as its product line got shoddier and shoddier, and when GE's Immelt buddied up to Obamageddon and got incandescent light bulbs off the market.
