HuffPost story: "As the United States begins to deepen ties with moderate Syrian rebels to combat the extremist group ISIS, also known as the Islamic State, a key component of its coalition appears to have struck a non-aggression pact with the group" -- Good grief... maybe Obamageddon should hire one of the ISIS leaders as his Mid-East Secretary of State... neither Obamageddon nor Kerry can get anybody to agree on anything...other than Israel is "the enemy"..
---
Hmmm... aren't those "moderate Syrian rebels" the same ones Obamageddon wants to arm with American weapons?

Surprise winner of the "ugly uniforms" of the week in college football... Notre Dame... now, ND may not have won if Oregon/Oregon State had been down to their general standards,,

HuffPost headline/story: "US Pledges Significant Aid Package To Syrians Affected By War * U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announced on Friday nearly $500 million in humanitarian aid for people and countries hit by Syria's civil war. * The aid package includes more than $250 million "to assist refugees and host communities in the neighboring countries affected by the crisis, * Some 3 million Syrian refugees have registered in neighboring countries with 6.5 million thought to be displaced within Syria." -- Hmmm... $250 Million for 3 Million REGISTERED refugees.. that's about $83.00 per person.. but, you know, by the time various despots take "their share, what gets to the actual refugee aid will be $20.00 or less per person Just look at our welfare programs.. 78-80% goes for salaries/benefits and administrative cost of government employees.

Hmmm... interesting "discovery" in the L-E: " Barberitos coming to Columbus: Downtown Columbus is seeing yet another infusion of restaurants as the central business district continues to blossom from Broadway to the Chattahoochee River. Most notable is the upcoming opening of 11th and Bay Southern Table that is located in a portion of a former W.C. Bradley cotton warehouse at 1050 Bay Ave., the RiverWalk and a zip line tower just a few steps away." -- Knowing a zip-line is available "just a few steps away" from is not necessarily a good thing.. an undigested meal, swimming in alcohol combined with the thrill of a zip-line does not bode well for those on the RiverWalk.. also only a "few steps away".

HuffPost headline: "WHO Demands More Health Workers For War Against Ebola" -- "demands"? Good grief..with the dollars provided to WHO, WHO should have its own field workers on staff.
---
Online quote source: " “There is nothing wrong with dreaming big dreams, just know that all roads that lead to success have to pass through Hardwork Boulevard at some point.” - Eric Thomas " -- "Hardwork Boulevard"? You know... not even Google Maps can find a "Hardwork Boulevard" address for any government, entitlement, or Democratic Party voter registration office.

A California State Senator has been convicted... convicted, mind you... for lying about his residence to run in another district other than where he actually lived..* a judge upheld a jury’s verdicts from January that found Wright guilty of eight felonies, including perjury and voting fraud. She sentenced him to 1,500 hours of community service and three years’ probation in addition to the jail time, which she ordered him to begin on Oct. 31. * The judge said Wright is barred for life from holding elective office. But it didn’t appear Friday that the ban would take effect immediately, leaving open the possibility that Wright may continue to draw his $95,291 annual salary until he steps down or is formally ousted by his Senate colleagues." -- Good grief.. the convicted Democrat has been drawing nearly $8,000.00 a month from the taxpayers since he was charged, since he was convicted in January, and unless he resigns, it will take a 2/3rds vote of the Democrat controlled Senate to oust him.. the convict probably will get his salary until the next election, and then will probably start drawing a pension.

I just got a huge compliment from a person I admire.. he's a fellow BCer, and about to retire from his perfect public/private job. He wrote: "I appreciate your candor and willingness to express your thoughts in spite of possible reaction." -- I responded.. without comments to react to, little change would ever occur...and especially in the area of government...
---
Democratic... the party of Robert Byrd, Harry Reid, George Wallace, Lester Maddox, Know Knothing Knunn.

ISIS just beheaded another.. this time a British citizen.. this, and the three American journalist (Pearl, Foley & Sotloff) bring video deaths to 4.. and we have protesters, and politicians that protesters have the ears of, that complain about America using "waterboarding" to extract information from jihadists that might supply ways to stop Islamic beheadings. I have noticed "they" have sorta receded from the protest spotlight.

Something I learned by accident on the I-net... if you put opened cartons of ice cream in a freezer bag, it will prevent "freezer burn". Of course, I'm not sure an opened carton of ice cream in my freezer has ever lasted long enough to need "freezer burn" protection.

Looks like Ray Rice's wife might try to get an endorsement contract from some "Armored Undergarments " maker instead..
---
Online headline/story: "Marine biologist Dr. Patrick Rice is also helping to develop the shark repelling scent called a necromone. * A necromone is a chemical signal that tells sharks there are other predators in the area. It's also the smell of dead shark, which is a sure sign for other sharks that danger is around. When sharks smell it, they are hard-wired to flee." -- Hmmm.. now if she wants to make a fortune, she needs to make a "street thug" repellant.. I suggest a combination of scents such as gun powder, and sweat from hard work along with the smell of a rotting street thug carcass.

HuffPost headline: "NFL admits to long-term head trauma" -- Thank goodness.. all this tap dancing around personal and politically correct issues has given me a headache.
---
L-E headline: "5,500 people turn out for first White Water Classic in Phenix City" -- You know.. Spending $150,000.00 for a "crowd" of 5,500 is quasi-reasonable, and I don't know all the particulars, but with a tailgating crowd, and same day driving distance for both teams, it doesn't sound like there was a lot of money spent in local restaurants or motels. And what about the hometowns.. Albany or Tuskegee merchants miss out on a lot more potential local businesses and sales tax revenues. Hmmm, I'm just glad it's no longer a burden on Columbus taxpayers.
---
LIV's L-E "soundoff": "One of my third-grade students asked me the other day, after looking at a map of the United States, why all the Republican states are so poor and all the Democratic states so rich." -- Good grief.. if this person is a teacher, and investigation.. no a purge.. should be begun immediately to locate and dismiss said teacher from this school! These "so-called rich states" have the highest crime rates, the highest inner city poverty levels, and the highest rates of government entitlement programs being funded off the back of workers in the "so-called poor states". Income distribution is why Democrat controlled states look "rich". Of course, that's catching up as more companies are vacating those "rich" states because of the tax burdens and by high costs of living caused entitlement programs, and high crime and poverty rates.

Columbus Council "work session' Agenda item:
"Sept. 24: Portable Toilet Rental & Service (Annual Contract) — The Consolidated Government of Columbus is seeking vendors to provide portable toilets, hand washing stations and gray water collection containers at various city location sites. The contract term will be for two years, with the option to renew for three additional 12-month periods." -- Hmmm. and how many port-o-lets could be set-up for the cost of a $244K permanent latrine?
" Tree Removal Services (Annual contract) — Remove trees (and all related debris) throughout the city on an “as needed” basis. The contract term will be for two years with the option to renew for three additional 12-month periods." -- Wait a minute.. the City has bought a new 100' reach tree trimmer, a new stump-grinder, and has beaucoup debris pick up trucks in its inventory. Why is a contract being "let" for an outside company to do this stuff?
"Nov. 26: Redevelopment for Claflin School - The city of Columbus is requesting proposals from experienced, creative architects, building and real estate development firms or a philanthropic individual or nonprofit group to present a redevelopment plan for adaptive reuse of the Claflin School building that will be consistent with applicable deed restrictions and preserve the historic site." -- What's going on here? Has an under-the-table-transaction occurred between the MCSD and the City as to which the Claflin School building is now responsible? This reeks of bad politics that even a $244K bathroom facility couldn't handle the smell.

Wow.. The Democratic Gubernatorial Primary in NY was very revealing of the discord in the Democratic Party. A relative unknown caused a scare to Coumo. The total vote was niot so close, but the counties' divisions were evident of inner turmoil of the Democrats.
