The totals, rounded off I'm sure, are in for Whitewater 2014.. 21,000 riders.. Using only the high end rate, I figure that the Cities of Columbus & Phenix City will split about $34,000.00 in user fees. Well, remember the selling spiel? --"Creating a two mile whitewater rafting run that begins and ends in a vibrant and historic mill district, attracting 60,000 to 100,000 visitors per year and, according to a recent economic study, have an annual economic impact of $4 to $7 million." -- Hmmm. only 1/3rd to 1/5th of the visitors as promised, and a drop-in-the-bucket economic impact.. You know.. if the taxpayers only had $1,000,000.00 "invested", getting about 3.5% Return On Investment would be pretty good. Unfortunately it's in the neighborhood of $15,000,000.00, perhaps higher, but the total figures are not what Mayor Obamalinson wants to talk about. Even more unfortunately.. the future maintenance costs will grow as well.

By Dickinson’s own admission, he still is running, despite the fact that he missed the filing deadline and wasn’t on the ballot.
