Donald Trump is in.. I'm glad to see it. At this moment, I feel..no, I
pretty much know he won't get my vote as he's a lot like me and is too direct to
get the support of single issue.. (positive or negative).. voters.
---
Well, if Marco Rubio isn't rich enough to be president according to the NY
Times, Donald Trump certainly is rich enough.
---
HuffPOOPOO headline: "Stephen Colbert Foams At The Mouth Over Trump
Announcement" -- Good grief.. Colbert is the same guy that tells the world that
everyone should set their own standards as to what id right or wrong.. good or
evil.. but he "feels" Donald Trump is not entitled to do the same?
---
Online story: "The First Family hosted a super-secret bash at the White
House for 500 A-list guests over the weekend with Stevie Wonder and Prince
performing for two hours!" -- Now we know what Obamageddon can do with his
"phone and pen".. he can make a few calls to throw a party, and use his pen to
write a taxpayer funded check to pay for it.
---
Online story: "McDonald’s, the chain whose global decline in popularity
over the last year has been punctuated by poor performance reports across the
board and tepidly-received marketing ploys, has hired former Obama
administration press secretary Robert Gibbs as its new global chief
communications officer." -- Good grief.. what is McDonald's "thinking"? Who is
going to believe Robert Gibbs standing up and saying McDonald's has never used
"pink slime" when all Gibbs has ever regurgitated is "slime"?
---
L-E headline: "Court rules Medical Center must provide insurance rates to
woman suing over 'unreasonable charges'" -- Hmmm... Have had personal
interaction with both hospitals over the years on this issue. There is an
Achilles' Heel for Bowden's attorneys to attack.. Remember President Ford's
"Whip Inflation Now" (WIN) campaign? Remember there were laws passed at that
time prohibiting any one from charging one person more , or less, than
another?
---
Listening to Tiger Woods' excuses about his current issues is not very
pretty nor very comforting.. Physical issues are not nearly as problematic as
the issues between his ears. Every top players hits a moment things don't work
physically, but the champions 'grind'.. they get the job done...because they are
professionals and dedicated to the game and to their fans. I wish the TV
announcers would stop making excuses for him..Tiger needs to solve this himself.
I hope he does... soon... real soon.

Online headline/story: "Oxford University Press Bans Word ‘Pork’ So As Not
To Offend Muslims * It has just been revealed that the Oxford University Press
has banned children’s book authors from using the words pig, pork, sausage, or
any other pig-related words so that Muslim readers will not be offended." --
Hmmm.. bet Democrats voted unanimously to make the Oxford University Press the
official publisher of "The Congressional Record" so no Republicans can mention
Democrats' "pork barrel" legislation..
---
A balcony collapsed on a Berkeley, CA apartment building and 5 people have
died and 8 others are critically injured . Rumor has it Sen Diane Feinstein is
going to introduce a new law to ban balconies.
---
L-E headline/story: "Pilot makes emergency landing on golf course * The
plane landed on the (15th) fairway, which is a long par 4 on the course." --
Hmmm.. sounds like it's easier to get "a plane" on 15 than it is to get a
"birdie" or an "eagle".
---
L-E headline: "COUNCILORS OK $265.7 MILLION BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR ’16 *
Plastic trash bag issue stalls, garbage pickup now once a week" -- "garbage
pickup now once a week"? You know.. this is another reason Columbus is the
Number 1 "shrinking city" in the country.. unfortunately we'll still have a
twice a week garbage issue.. Only one at our homes, but we'll still have to deal
with weekly garbage from Mayor TomLYINGson.
---
From above story: "Two changes in the way the city collects refuse survived
the process -- cutting trash pickup from twice to once a week, which will start
Sept. 14, and stopping the recycling of glass, which will start July 6" --
"stopping the recycling of glass"? You know.. Council authorized .. and built..
a recycling center that is .. what.. 10 times the current need (and probably
bigger than we'll EVER need", and now is going to stop what is one of the
biggest parts of the recycling program. That means that more glass.. and I don't
think glass is biodegradable and it'll now go to the landfill and become a
permanent problem for reclaiming filled landfill for new usages.
---
One other thing.. why wait until September 14th to start once-a-week
pickups? Why not start the 1st of July which begins the City's fiscal year?
Why... because Mayor TomLYINGson KNOWS that if she can wait until cooler
weather, people won't notice the increase in stench until next summer after the
new schedule has become "normal".
---
Hmmm.. so Mayor TomLYINGson wants to eliminate plastic yard waste bags
because they are a nuisance with extra costs of having to by a box cutter or two
periodically, and having to make "extra trips to the main landfill to dispose of
them.. Now that sounds like a way to inefficient manner to deal with those
plastic bags. Why not just hold on to them, and when the trucks bet back to
"home", just put those bags into a truck that will be going on a garbage pickup
and makes the regular landfill it's normal dumping site?

Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " I have voted in every
election since 1960 (JFK), but if this is a Clinton vs. Bush vote I think I'll
just go fishing. Oh heck, I might just go fishing anyway." -- Obviously a
Democrat knowing that if he/she was considering another Bush at all, he/she
being a no-show at the poll is a vote for Hillewinsky anyway..
---
Jonathan Gruber triple-double extra stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": " “Seven
people held at gunpoint …” “Children present during shooting …” “Food mart
robbed at gunpoint …” “Columbus man shot at …” All in one day’s local news.
Gosh, think about how horrible the world would be without guns!" -- Good grief..
there will always be guns with us... in fact, our Constitution protects the
rights of law-abiding citizens to own them. Now, what the JGTDES-LIV isn't
mixing into his/her concept is how bad would the headlines be if no one but
criminals owned guns...
---
Jonathan Gruber stupid LIV's L-E "soundoff": "Congrats to your excellent
writing staff. I always scan the paper to see what Chuck and Mark have written
for the day." -- Good grief.. the writer reads two of the most restricted
subject matter L-E staffers and ignores the many others... including the L-E
staffer who selected this "soundoff" to be printed. What this lib is actually
saying is that he/she "feels" only 2 members of the L-Staff are worth reading...
hmm... the writer does have a point...
---
From the L-E's "Today in history" feature: "In 1885, the Statue of Liberty
arrived in New York Harbor aboard the French ship Isere (ee-SEHR’)." -- Cool..
The husband, Thomas B Slade, who married the daughter of my
great-grandfather's brother Richard, was in the Navy reception crew to receive
the Statue of Liberty that day.
---
Why does the L-E think every criminal trial deserves every day front page
coverage.. Doesn't the L-E realize that prospective companies are "googling"
Columbus, GA to see what kind of city it is?
---
L-E story: "Notes: The tournament has been won 26 times by a person from
Columbus, but not since Carter Mize won in 2003. … The tournament was started by
Fred Haskins as the Columbus Country Club Invitational in 1922. It was renamed
the Southeast Amateur in 1938." -- Of those 26 local wins, 4 of them have been
by Dad and little brother.. Dad won in 1933 (at age 16) and again in 1935.. my
brother Elliott won in 1981 and again in 1987.. no other single family has more
wins.
---
L-E story: "The Obama administration is cracking down on artificial trans
fats, calling them a threat to public health. The Food and Drug Administration
said Tuesday that it will require food companies to phase out the use (of)
artificial trans fast almost entirely. " -- Hmmm.. how about the FDA sounding
off on the threat marijuana, as well as the Obamageddon administration, on
public health?
