I just learned that today, June 7, is "National Cancer Survivors' Day".. Hey, a day for me...it'll be 10 years in September!

Online story: "DANNEMORA, N.Y. (AP) — Two convicted murderers used power tools to cut through steel pipes at a maximum-security prison near the Canadian border and escape through a manhole, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Saturday." -- "maximum security"? uh.. maybe for liberals, but there's nothing "maximum" about security that allows murderers having power tools in their cells.

Online headline/story: "Thousands protest G7 summit in southern Germany * Bavarian Michael Wildmoser carried a sign with communist slogans. * "Too many young people are being exploited in low-paid jobs," he said. "This situation can't go on." -- Could it simply be that young people grew up so accustomed to "participation trophies" and "social promotions", even "non-score games" have not competitively prepared them for working and getting ahead in society?

Why are Democrats , "mainscream media", other liberals and black leaders only concerned about American slavery that ended ? Black slavery still exists in Africa today, female sex slavery still exists today, Asian slavery still exists today, but the liberal element in America is only interested in black slavery that ended 150 years ago..of course, none of the liberals are interested in the NEW Democratic Party entitlement slavery movement which began in 1965 and is growing bigger today.

Online headline: "California Now Offers 24 Hour Rides For Drunken Senators" -- Drunk from alcohol or political power?
---
Online story: "The Clinton Health Access Initiative took between $1 million and $10 million from Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Health Services, a church which staunchly condemns homosexual practices. It’s leader asserted homosexuality comes “from the devil.” * . The CBC issued a statement in December 2013 which affirmed their position on human sexuality:" -- Recently we have seen of Hillewinsky's admiration for Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, who believed, "Colored people are like weeds and need to be exterminated", and now we learn she accepts money from homophobes... Liberals must be asking, "who is this person"? The rest of us already knew.

Ever hear the term "whitewashing"? It's a Hollywood term for using a white person in a role where the author originally had a minority character..Makeup was used to give a black, Asian or Native American appearance to a white actor/actress as it was believed the audiences would be stronger with a known white playing such characters. Now..why is "mainscream media" interested in racial accuracy, yet never has been concerned about Hollywood being historically accurate?

What is wrong with the PGA...the Haskins Award was the first award presented to the collegiate player of the year, yet watching the PGA coverage of the Memorial tournament, commentators conversationally mentioned that Patrick Rodgers of Stanford won the late coming 2014 Nicklaus Award..then threw in he also won the even later coming Hogan Award for the same recognition started by the Haskins Commission . ..but no mention that Rogers also won the Haskins. The PGA club professionals should really object for the PGA Tour to slight the one Award honoring the teaching club pro.

"Mainscream media" has delved 17 years into Marco Rubio and his wife's driving records.. The Senator has 4 speed related citations, and his bride has 13, so, according to the mainscream media, Rubio is not qualified to be the president. Hmmm.. funny isn't it, that "mainscream media"wasn't very interested at all in the driving record of Ted Kennedy, nor the fact that a young aid died...and a slow drowning death at that, as he "sped" off on foot from the area. RIP, Mary Jo Kopechne ...

L-E story on Columbus' "Beallwood" area: "According to the most recent U.S. Census statistics available, an estimated 15 percent of the residents living in that area between 2008 and 2012 owned their homes. Of the people living there during that period, 27 percent were white, 69 percent were black and 30 percent were Hispanic. * Twenty-two percent of the population was over the age of 65, 45 percent were of working age, 33 percent were under 18, and 6 percent were under 5 years old." -- Hmmm... first.. no area with an 85% rental population and no organized maintenance plan of the property owners, is ever going to keep itself patrolled of litter nor have uniformly maintained property.. but.. BUT. according to government figures, 126% of the residents were white, black, or Hispanic, and 106% of the residents were between under 5 and over 65. Hmmm .. I think we can see where Common CRAP math got its answers from...and we wonder why government programs don't seem to add up to common sense...

Jonathan Gruber double-extra stupid and smart-(_*_) LIV's L-E "soundoff": " If Republicans are more charitable than Democrats it’s because more of them are part of the one percent. We Democrats do the best we can with what we have." -- "We Democrats do the best we can with what we have"? If the 50 year old "War on Poverty" is the best Democrats can do with what OTHER people have, then pretty soon there want be anyone who's not a victim of poverty..... hmmm then what will the Democrats have to work with?

You know.. if Mayor TonLYINGson gets her way and reduces the Sheriff's Department budget so that more prisoners are released earlier to save money, it means that the Columbus Police Department will need more money to increase patrols to monitor the released criminals. Hey, Mayor, exactly how will we save money?

L-E policy statement: "Corrections: The Ledger-Enquirer strives to be accurate, fair and complete in its coverage and corrects significant errors of fact. Most corrections will appear in this space at the earliest opportunity. If you see an error in print or online, please email Stephanie Pedersen, senior editor for online, at spedersen@ledger-enquirer.com   or call 706-320-4485." -- Hmmm.. if the L-E "corrected its errors and omissions this feature would double the page total daily of the print edition.

I hate to be picky about a moment.. well, a lifetime, of grief for the families from Alabama who recently have lost family members in the Chattahoochee, but I see only the cost of search and recovery by Columbus' Emergency personnel.. will the bill be paid for by Columbus citizens or will it be sent to Phenix City officials?

So Mayor TomLYINGson thinks the answer to more tax revenue is eliminating the tax freeze on residential property.. what's needed is an overhaul of the Tax Assessor's Office.. this property, 2801 Double Churches Road: Double Churches Properties, LLC was recently sold to William Levin for $4,050,000.00. The value assigned previously by our Tax Assessor's Office was $450,00 (less than the cost of two "Queen TT Lounges"). How much property tax revenue went uncollected over many years as this visual eyesore unused for years?
